Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Earlier, I brought a few cookies to our very ill neighbor.  He was so weak and barely made it to the sofa - in much pain.  He has to make the decision for hospice care - his wife has some exhausting days and she wanted me to stay for tea just to talk a little while.  Feeling sad.

Hi, friends,

Jane, I just know how broken your heart is today. I'm so sorry that Joy is gone, but thankful she had such a peaceful passing. My love and prayers for you and the family in your grief.

Carol, your neighbor's wife may be forced to make that decision, even though she wants him to do it. How sorry I feel that they're experiencing this. I'm thankful you found the scarf.

Larry, I understand about limiting liquid intake. I've been held to the same standards as you for 3 years. It definitely has helped edema, since I, too, cannot take diuretics. It's good to hear that Pat is showing some improvement. Back problems are really painful - I can speak from experience.

Marilyn, glad you came to tell us about your work with Freckles. :)

Janet, enjoy your upcoming trip. It's good to see John getting things worked out, and that Beth enjoyed her meal.

Jeanne, I cannot cook with gas. I've always had electric appliances, and it seemed so different when I would try to cook dinner for my children in Atlanta. I really had to watch to make certain things didn't burn.

Well, y'all have a good rest of the day.

Much love to all,
Ruth Ann

Good evening to all!  I've been on the road and without much for phone or internet this past week, and when I got back into civilization tonight and connected the laptop I was saddened to receive the news of Joy's passing.  In a couple months it will be two years since our daughter's death, and her absence has been weighing heavy on my heart this week.  Reading through Joy's history quickly brought tears, but her strong faith indeed leaves cause for great celebration.  My thoughts and prayers will be with Jane, John and the rest of the family as they come to grips with the void left behind.  May the comfort of our Savior's grace embrace them all!

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone from a soggy but cool South Carolina.  We had 3 inches of rain yesterday as it rained without stopping for about 12 hours.  Today we have blue skies and a temperature of 67 with a high of only 84 predicted for this afternoon.

I did go back yesterday afternoon and had the ultrasound done, which took all of maybe 10 minutes.  I had attended to do some cooking when I got home but just wasn't feeling up to it and so we settled for a scrambled eggs, green onions, bacon bits and cheese for dinner with some fresh cantaloupe.  It actually made a very good meal and I am sure we will have it that way again.

Today I will go to COSTCO for more items, including a big block of cheddar cheese that I need to make the sausage muffins for Pat's breakfast and a few other items.  Then I plan to get some cooking done and get things in order for our dinner tonight.  I will watch some college football this afternoon and then this evening Georgia plays so may watch a little of that game.  I was shocked to find yesterday morning that South Carolina had come back with 55 seconds left to beat Vanderbilt as didn't have a good first half and I had turned it off then.  The pro football season starts next week.

If you haven't seen Pat's posting on Facebook I will share with you all that she spent 8 hours in the ER Thursday night.  Fortunately Paul was there with her.  She did not say the reason for the trip to the ER.

Jane, I have you and your family in my prayers this morning.

Jeanne, hope you enjoy your new broiler oven.  Pat has often made toasted cheese sandwiches using a skillet.  We have a small toaster oven that gets used a lot but seldom for toast.

Carol, we didn't get any severe wind yesterday, just a lot of rain.  There were trees down and power outages in our large county but it didn't affect our area.  Glad you found the scarf before you needed it.  It sounds like it is time for your neighbor to let hospice make his final days more comfortable.  Fortunately our daughter made that decision for herself and we were spared the agony of the decision.  She tried to spare us as long as possible which was a wonderful act of love on her part for us.

Ruth Ann, limiting the liquids does have an advantage in that I get to sleep pretty much through the night.  I just have to develop a new habit of being careful how much liquid I consume.  I always thought I was doing the right thing by drinking a lot of fluid.  In our married life Pat and I have never had a gas range that I remember.  I hope have a good weekend.

Ken, we share the loss of our daughter's within months of each other.  It will be three years for us in early February.

Janet, you probably won't see this for a few days but sure hope you have a wonderful and restful trip and see a lot of lighthouses.  It was totally my fault that I had to make two trips for the test.  I hope John has finally gotten things straightened out and now has his Kansas driver's license.

Thank you for your words of comfort, and for your prayers.  I have made it to another day and it looks as if I may be able to make it through this one, too.  Just putting one foot in front of the other.

I added a message from Joy's husband to the page for her in Sympathy and Bereavement.

Marilyn:  My prayers for you and your family as you wait for the loss of your son, Roger.

Jane:  You are strong in faith and this will help you through the days ahead.

Ken:  I just said a prayer for you and your reminiscing.

Larry:  Prayers for you and Pat -

Pat:  You were in the ER - perhaps back home now.  My continued prayers for your recovery and healing.

Hi everyone on a beautiful Sunday morning. It will soon be time for me to head for Sunday School and Church.  I know what I plan to do after church in terms of lunch for us today as the kitchen is basically closed today.  I did get to COSTCO yesterday.  They had a very good sale on new bed pillows and we needed some so I got them, getting the king size only to find out when I got home that Pat in the last few days had cut off the king size cases as we didn't have king size pillows.  So I have to take the pillows back and see if I can get standard size pillow cases.
