Hi all,

I will definately send a pix of the house but I don't know how. I will have my son show me "again" how to do it..

THanks for your kind words of encouragement and yes, please pray for my patience in this matter.

I have a lovely message that I will be placing in Manna for the Soul -Proverbs 3 - 5-12  are the verses that have been carrying me though in this matter and others.

I am trying to get everything done in NJ so we can get up to Penna. before the holiday crowd gets on the road.  I still do not bring my computer up there so I may not be back online till Tuesday.

Our weather has been great -pray it continues....

After two years of searching in Penna. I think I have found a church...I have been looking for a bible base church that not only preaches but mostly "teaches"  --(huge difference)

I have been looking for books on the old testament that dwells into the persons in bible, their lives and more of the history before Jesus Christ.
Being raised as a child in the Catholic religion, we did not learn too much of that aspect of the bible, now I want to know more and more.  Getting my passion back and I think this new church will have his hands full with my questions.

Pray for me to find where the good LORD wants me to learn about HIS word in this stage of my life.

I can't believe that HE would put all of this love that I have for HIM and HIS words in my body and mind and not do anymore with it now that I am at the 70 years old mark. I know there is so much more that HE wants me to do for HIS plan and purpose for HIS glory.

Bless you all,

Joyce

Carol

Hello Joyce!  And blessings back to you.  Next week I will begin a woman's bible study on Romans and I am anxious to meet this group.  We moved last year and have been attending a neighborhood church and finding it very comforting and yes, a teaching church for sure.

Hello to Click!  Welcome.

Larry:  Sometimes meds can change your voice.

Pastor Al:  I hope that something can be of help for you that you won't have to continue getting up so many times in the night.  Praying for you and your legs.

Janet:  Hi - we have had some cool mornings - I'll send it your way!

Don and I did work at the cabin for two days.  The woman from the gas company did not show the first day - I called her twice and she finally came the 2nd day & it had to be less than a minute.  She had straggley hair and a pierced thing below her lip.  Lord loves her for sure - I have to remember but she was able to understand finally and now supposedly, the team is hooking up gas today.  But it is another matter to get another person to put in a meter box and nothing will happen until that is finished.  We asked for this since June.

We painted a bathroom and finished one other bedroom & I swept up the basement & watched a mouse looking right at me through the window glass.  Mouse traps coming this weekend.  Don spilled a gallon of paint but it was on base flooring so we could scoop it up - did not tell the kids and we will deny it when they ask.  What paint spill? Carpet will cover it.

Don's hearing specialist is giving him a little bit of hope and they will check him in three months.

Marilyn

Hi everyone, Did ya miss me? Probably not, but I have been here reading every day and praying for those who need prayer. I  bought a small Netbook  one of the mini's. It sure is fun to play with and learn how to use, but I sure don't like the touch pad very much. Then Yesterday I ordered a external hard drive that is 250 gigs. my netbook is 120 gigs with XP installed.

I am headed out in the morning as soon as I drop the dogs off at Puppy Love, I am going back to California to see the kids and spend Friday night at Willa's house. I will be back on Monday. Keith is going to Portland to take Corey back up and to visit with the other two boys while there. Kyle and Corey live together and Craig is married.

I will be checking on all y-all  while I am away, I may not post unless someone says something to me first.

It is late.  Pat if you see this before I call I will call you tomorrow.

We go tomorrow with Kassie to pick up her glasses.  Zellers has them on 2 pair for $99.  So she will have 2 pair.  We got Elizabeth's before John went off work, so the money back from benefits will pay Kassie's.

I am having computer problems.  I cannot get onto CP.  So if I seem absent it is because of the problems with getting on line.

I am off for tonight.

Etta Sue

I had to chuckle.  JudyB can't get on CP but there she was!

Hi Marilyn.  Have a safe trip to see the kids.

Ivalou found out yesterday that her granddaughter, Lauren, with the lump in her breast went to the surgeon and she is having surgery today!!!  At 1pm!!  Not enough time for her to get nervous even!  She is highly afraid of needles and even passed out while getting her blood work done!  It's not funny.  I used to be the same way!  And the surgeon said that it is rare for 22 year olds to have cancer of the breast so that is encouraging.  Just pray that they get this used to be gumball size-lump that was oval and now egg-size lump out of there and it is benign!!

Today I am going back to my surgeon.  The new program that the PA put in the stimulator last week didn't help.  Sometimes yes and sometimes no...most of the time no!

Hi everyone.  I am sitting here waiting for the air conditioning repairman to arrive.  Our main unit quit working yesterday afternoon and we noticed it was getting warm in the house around 4:15.  I called and left a message and he called back in about an hour and said he could be here at 9:30 this morning.  And here he is.

The fan motor has ceased up and has to be replaced.  Fortunately he has the motor with him and is now installing it so it shouldn't be too long.  This is a lovely morning here in Georgia with a hint of fall so the house is still comfortable with the ceiling fans running.

Not much else on the schedule for today so will have a quite day and that suits me fine.

Judy, hope your internet connection inproves as very frustrating not to be able to stay online.  I am assuming that is the problem and not a computer problem or signin to CP problem.

Etta Sue, it is good that Lauren won't have a long period before the surgery.  We certainly can all pray that this is a benign  tumor.

Marilyn, two of my friends have the Netbooks and like them.  One of them was a refurbished unit that they got for $200.  They are certainly nice for travel or just reading on the Internet.  One of my friends got an extended battery and an external CD/DVD unit for his since they don't have that built in.  Hope you really enjoy yours.  You can get a small laptop wireless mouse to use and not have to fool with the touchpad.  I have never liked using one of those.

Carol, it sounds like you have found a church to call home.  Good news concerning Don's hearing.

Joyce, glad you have found the type of church you have been searching for.

Pat, it is your laptop or Paul's that has the problem?  Are you still using the one you dropped and cracked the screen?  It should be a lovely time to be in Winchester.

Janet, your message slipped in as I was modifying mine.  Those skin breakdowns are serious business when you cannot be mobile and move yourself.  Glad you have a target date for your sale and that you don't have to get everything done in the next week.  :)

Janet

Good morning!  I have been up since 5:30; couldn't sleep, so just got up.  I caught up on my mail and a bit more stuff before Darrel appeared.  Then John came in and I made his breakfast, now Becki is eating hers.

Beth has been doing entirely too much while her friends are here.  While I understand that she wants to do things and go places, she just isn't strong enough yet for so much activity.  Now she has two areas of skin breakdown on her bottom, so she is grounded!!   :(  They do plan to go have photos taken today here in town, but I nixed the planned trip to Garden City to the zoo, Walmart and Golden Corral they had planned for tomorrow.  She just cannot sit so many hours.

It has been wonderful for Beth to have these friends here with her, though, and I am thankful they care so much for her they would take their entire vacation time to come visit her.  John will be leaving Sunday night, Becki on Tuesday morning.

Darrel and I are still working hard getting ready for our auction.  The date has been set for October 17, so we know how much time we have to get everything done.

Marilyn, have a good trip.

Larry, glad you're doing so well!

Carol, don't work too hard or fall off any ladders!  Cute about the spilled paint--glad it was an easy fix!

Time to get started around here again, see you later.

I have posted on behalf of Pat in Prayer and Praise.  Please check it out.

Janet:  I don't even attempt the really tall ladder anymore - painting in a bathroom made me nervous.  How lovely for Beth that she has such true friends.  I am so sorry that Beth cannot do all the things she wants to do.  Praying for her.

Marilyn:  Have a safe trip.

We have two sons out of sorts with their father.  This will pass - extreme stress and workloads for the guys and this is a rare occurrence so I expect this little dust up will go away soon.

Other than that - we are experiencing chilly nights and warm days.  Perfect.

JudyB

I am having one of those sleepless nights.  There is so much going on at this point in time.

Kass has a friend over for the weekend.  She is a nice girl, and I really like her parents.  They are strict and I like that. Sll her clothes that are too small come to Kass...many of which she has worn only one time.

John is asleep.  Hope he has a good rest.

Tomorrow I want to mow the lawns, could be the last time before winter.  We have lovely weather for this long weekend.  It is summer at last with the leaves turning no less!!

I am going to check other forums.

Hi everyone.  We got our Air Conditioner fixed yesterday.  The fan motor had to be replaced.  It was expensive but could have been a lot worse and we should be set for quite awhile.

I had a quiet day yesterday.  Took a nap and then for some reason didn't feel very good for the rest of the day.  I had a good nights sleep but am feeling tired already this morning.  Guess I have gone into a holiday mood and I really don't have much on the schedule other than a few routine things.

Larry a quick question, in the past what caused the way you are feeling?   I suggest you check into the cause.

After a short night, the girls woke me up and I am making pancakes for breakfast.  This is a treat for us.

We have a hot sunny weekend here, no rain and lots of 24*C+ degrees.  Really nice that summer has arrived.

Got to go.

Etta Sue

Well, it wasn't a good day yesterday.  Lauren does have cancer.  They didn't remove the tumor because they would have to take more than just the tumor so all Lauren knows is that she has cancer and Tuesday morning she is to have a MRI, cat scan and chemo.  Then when the surgeons get the results then they will tell Lauren what will have to be done.  They do know that she will have to have a mastectomy (sp).  So say BIG huge prayers for 22-year old, single, Lauren.

And Tony called me and said that his MIL came home and found his FIL on the floor with chest pains and sweating.  She called 911 and when she and their son, Brian, got to the hospital they were told he was having a heart attack at the time.  So Ralph had two stents and the balloon done yesterday and says he feels better than he has felt for years.

Going to the woods for a cookout with Kaye Don's family and friends at 6pm.  Then tomorrow I work the projector again at church.

Goodness! Lotsa news for me to read today.

Nothing much is happening here, I'm just resting.

Y'all have a great day with our Lord.

I absolutely HATE that word (cancer), and all that it represents in suffering and loss and heartache  :ticked:... Etta Sue you can be totally assured that I am praying for Lauren and everyone  concerned.

I am exhausted tonight.  Darrel and I worked most of the day moving and cleaning stuff for the auction, heavy stuff like refrigerators and freezers.  :o  Then I showered and dressed and went to the store to get stuff to make dinner for Beth, John and Becki.  Grandson Mark is home for the weekend, he drove up to help Darrel with a couple of the really heavy things, stayed for dinner (still supper to me!) and helped me with a couple computer problems.  He also helped Becki with hers--she had bought cables to hook her laptop up to Beth's TV  to use as a monitor so they can all chat with their friends in the NF chatroom.  She couldn't get it to work, so Mark told her how to do it.  They were happy.

Now everybody has gone home and I am heading to my bed.  I hope I can get up in the morning, I am really feeling sore and stiff.

Etta Sue, I am praying for dear Lauren.  Such things just should not happen!  Glad Tony's FIL is doing well, those incidents are really scary, too.

Larry, good that you got that AC repaired, the hot weather is mostly over, but not all, I'm thinking.

The wiener roast was fun last evening.  I couldn't say anything about Lauren since Barb has opted not to tell Keri, who is having both breast removed and re-constructive surgery Friday, the 11th, about Lauren.  That was hard to do but it did give me a diversion.  Not to take away from Keri but she has made her decision and is happy with it.  Lauren doesn't have a clue what is ahead of her other than cancer and chemo.  Right now she doesn't even know she is to have more surgery!

I am running the projector system again today and also have to put in my birthday money today.  Our small little church when they ask for announcements, then anniversaries, the birthdays, you go up front and put in a little bank cents that amount to your age!  I like that in our small little church.

Then it will be having lunch with the ladies and then home.  I will be back later to post the next week's thoughts.

Hi everyone.  It is going to be another nice but overcast day here in Georgia, as it was yesterday.  We attended a meeting yesterday morning and went to lunch with a large group of folks from the meeting.  So it wasn't necessary to have an evening meal.  I am sure we will do the same today after church.

Etta Sue, you brought back memories of my childhood with the birthday offering of a penny for each year.  We did that at our Christian church.  That doesn't seem to be a custom in the Presbyterian church where we now belong.  So sorry to read of the terrible news for Lauren.  Just hope they have caught things early enough to stop the cancer.  There are wonderful support groups available for breast cancer.  Glad your picnic went well.

Janet, I am tired just reading all that you did yesterday.  All of that work and then preparing a meal also.  Sure hope you can find some time for Janet today to get a little well deserved rest.  Glad your grandson could be there and help out a little bit.

Judy, I think the tiredness may be due to the results of the anesthetic I had with my surgery.  I had also had it not too long ago with the colonoscopy.  I took things easy yesterday.  Next week I am going to try walking again at the gym and that will probably help as well.  I continue to make a good recovery from the surgery.

It looks like folks must be busy with holiday activities as not too much action here.  I do see that Jane and Ruth Ann were here, which is good as always.

JudyB

We have kassie's friend with us still.  It has been a wonderful weekend of laughter and fun having Ashley here.  This young lady has never been for a sleep over in her life before, and we sure have enjoyed being the first.  She is searching for her way in life, and we pray we can help in that area.  She will be coming to Church with us today as well.

Have a God day today.

Marilyn

Hi everyone, Etta Sue I will  be praying for both Lauren and Keri. I am here at Gilbert's and am the only one up right now. I find it hard to type on this laptop without looking at my fingers , I guess it wil take some getting used to before I can do that. All is well here, it rained yesterday fir   most of the day but it was mostly a light rain with  only about 30 minutes of a little heavier rain in the morning. keith said it was also raining in Portland. I forgot to bringmy camera. Drat!

Fall has certainly come to the island.  Rain today and that is sad with so many things going on for this long weekend.  I have Misty inside hiding from the rain.....she is not a happy camper!

Not much new in my life.  Still feeling ill from the medication used for the latest Bladder infection.  I went to the health store in Victoria and bought some strong D-Manoose and Cranberry Juice capsules.  They also advised cutting sugar from my diet.  So will try this and hope for the best.  Not much help from the medical dr.'s so have to do something to help myself.  Marilyn, do you know what else might help??  All suggestions welcome.    :)

The latest on our medical care is the
B.C. gov. has cut all scans by 20%, also many other cuts to come.  Still have not taken care of the lump in my daughter's breast and seems like most of the care in this province has become a total disgrace.  Meanwhile, the costs for the 2010 games marches on......

Great round-up of wild bunnies planned at UVic.  They plan to trap and sterilize 150 rabbits, then put them out for adoption.  Meanwhile the remaining hundreds keep multiplying....like rabbits?  Good luck with that one.  Is there any common sense left in the world today???

So sorry to read about all the many problems that so many are having.  All we can do is trust in God to give strength.

The kids are leaving for a holiday this week.  It will be hard on my daughter as travel hurts her body so terribly.  Necessary if one is to keep hubby happy.  Not easy for either of them.

Trying not to remember that this month will be my 77th yr. l can almost see the 80's coming.....will not look!

Time to go and try to be useful at something or other.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz
