Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

Good afternoon.  Can anyone tell me what bierock is.... Janet has completely left me in the dark there!

We have rain.  A nice gentle soaking rain.  Thank you Lord.  The garden was really dry.

John picked up our parts van,  The body is in excellent shape,  I am wondering what the cost would be to certify it and use ours as a parts vehicle.  This has cost us 60 dollars, and the parts we need would have been in the hundreds even at a wreckers.

Well I am making John's meals and baking bread.  Must run.

Hi everyone.

I see that once again I am behind time in offering Happy Birthday greetings, but they are heart felt so a big Happy Birthday, Janet.  I was happy to read the encouraging news that you shared with us.  Also glad to see you are beginning to enjoy your laptop and getting over the learning curve with the touch pad.  You posted while I was writing this and sorry to read of your scare but so glad Darrel is there with you this weekend.

I see there are lots of interesting postings since I last posted.  Melaura, congrats on your accomplishments.  Keep your goal and your dreams in front of you and you will achieve them.

Stacey came out yesterday and spent the night with us.  We went to the Green Tomatoe buffet for dinner to celebrate Father's Day as she wanted to get back home and off her foot today.  We used the transport chair and she was able to serve herself at the buffet line.  I took her back home this morning and then stopped at Walmart for a few things.  It is really hot here today.  Right now it is 97 degrees and suppose to hit 100 later today.  I am staying in the rest of the day.

Etta Sue, you should have two plug in ports on your laptop to be used with a headset.  One is for output and one for input.  I believe you can get cables to plug into your TV outlets and into these two plugs.  I suggest you check with Radio Shack to get more information.

Janet

Judy, a bierock is a German food---shredded cabbage, onions and hamburger baked inside a yeast dough.  And we did find the right place and Beth managed eat half of hers and keep it down.  Praise God.

Beth has develped C. Diff, which is an overgrowth of one of the colon bacterias, caused from being on so many antibiotics for so long.  It causes horrible diarrhea, and can be life-threatening.  They have pulled out the "big guns" to fight it, with the only antibiotic that kills it.  They said it was nearly impossib le that she wouldn't get it, after being hospitalized this long and getting so many antibiotics.  Sigh......

This is a larger and more comfortable room, and has two chairs for visitors (the other only had one) so it is a good thing.  She will still be getting excellent nursing care, wound care, and have her same doctors.  I just wish they had called me, but I'm over the shock now, so it's okay.  Beth was feeling really stressed, first time she had mentioned that, but adjusting to all new nursing staff contributed to that, I am sure.

Hey, Larry!  Thanks for th advice about the mouse and lap pad for this computer.  We went out and got those items this afternoon, and it surely is a lot easier!  I got a wireless mouse, as it is smaller and lighter in weight, also has storage on it for the USB plug, pretty neat.  I am realizing how heavy a laptop can be, carrying it back and forth every day.  But I am quickly coming to love it!   :)  (Just as some of you predicted.)

I am more tired yesterday and today than I have been since this ordeal began.  I plan to go to sleep early tonight.

Beth is still having lots of pain and running fevers.  I know you are all still praying, and I love you for that.

Please excuse the mistakes, just chalk it up to my tiredness.  Thanks.

Thanks for keeping us "in the know", Janet. Oh, my goodness! That really would be a shock...no wonder you cried.

Larry, thank you for all the good hints you give to all of us. Do you think that the BelArc (I think that's the way it's spelled) would help Etta Sue with Kittie's computer difficulties?

Pat, thank you for reporting on the funeral, too. How difficult it is to lose someone so young, who it seems should have just been ready to live more fully.

Judy, It's wonderful that the car you've received will help y'all. I know about how difficult it is to keep vehicles running! Been there - done that.  :-\

It's time to get back to work on the powerpoints for the church service tomorrow.

Sometimes I get information late, which causes me to hurry-scurry on Saturday evenings to get everything done.

Well, y'all have a good evening, and also a great Fathers Day tomorrow.

Well the new van is in the driveway.  The parts are an identical match.  Thank God for that.  Doug's Father's day gift to dad was to change the starter.  sounds simple enough, except the new van didn't have one.  Thankfully we had bought one many months ago.  It has fixed the problem we had.  There are several other issues but the new van will correct them as well.  The outer body is in better condition than ours so that will be another change.  Also living on a gravel road, and driving so many miles on gravel our lenses for the headlights are clouded and don't shine out too much.  The new van has almost pristine lenses.  I will be able to see at night again.

I had Doug Megan the boys, Melaura and Mariah here for supper.  Megan provided supper which was a real treat.  She is such a great cook!  Doug BBQ'ed  and Megan made a huge taco salad.  I was amazed that there was none left.

It is late (actually very early morning) and I can't sleep.  I am having some  cereal and then going to head back to bed.  In the meantime I have spent time in prayer for the needs here.  Janet God IS in control and you can rest on that.

Pat how is Judy and Norm?  Also What is the word on Phil?

Ruth How is Alan?

There are so many others.  Know you are prayed for.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

We got Kitty fixed up.  She was unable to save anything in her PhotoShop CS3.  She had already gotten info from PhotoShop on what to do.  I guess her problem started from trying to 'Save As' from PhotoShop to her thumb drive.  Need to save as to her computer and then copy and paste to thumb drive!  Then I went online to find out about Network Security Key...we needed that for me to get online with my laptop at her house.  I got online by saving her Lynxes settings to a flash drive and installing them on mine.  She also can get on internet with her Wii Fit but couldn't.  The thumb drive didn't help there.  Then I ask her what was this paper scotched taped on the cabinet for the desktop...then she tried using 'geek' for the password...that didn't work.  Then I noticed on that same paper...Encrypted key...**********.  It was right there all along and neither of us noticed it.  Now she knows that anyone can use that Network Security Key if she wants them to get online at her house!  But I don't have to use it...I have her Lynxes brains in my laptop.  So we got three things solved yesterday.  A good day.

Then they insisted on taking me out to eat.  Great day!

I am ready for church, then eat out and naptime this afternoon.  The church will be half empty...the Zeller's are in northern Indiana for a wedding!!

Hi everyone.  It is going to be a very hot day here in Georgia, in the 90s and feeling like 100 degrees or more due to the humidity.  Fortunately the house in very pleasant and I don't have to be outside beyond a few brief moments when going somewhere.  Pat isn't feeling good again today and I doubt that she will feel like going to church today.  I am ready and will attend.

Janet, sorry to hear of the C. Diff but it sound like the doctors are on top of the situation.  Glad to read you got the lap board and the wireless mouse.  I should have thought to also suggest a wheeled travel case for the laptop.  I got a very nice one for $20 at Fry's so I no longer have to carry mind, just pull up the handle (like you have on luggage these days) and wheel it along with me.  It holds the laptop, the lapboard, power adapter, mouse, extra extension cord, in case I need it, and still has room for some other things.  It really saves the wear and tear on the shoulder and getting tired carrying it.

Etta Sue, glad you were able to access Kitty's network and that she has resolved her other problems.

Ruth Ann, I am not aware that the BelArc Advisor, which I use, would help solve the problem.  It lists license numbers of software installed on a computer and info on the computer.

Judy, hope the parts van helps you extend the life of your van.  It sounds ideal, especially have family members who can do the mechanical work.

I got a nice card yesterday from my son and DIL and we had Stacey here Friday night and Saturday morning and we celebrated Father's Day then.

Janet

Happy Sunday to you all.  :)  I went to bed at 8 last evening, woke up at ten and couldn't get back to sleep, so took an Ambien and woke at 6:30.  And I am still sleepy.

Beth seems a little better today, ate pretty well, but threw it up a little later.  She had diarrhea...got her cleaned up, I brushed her teeth, brushed her hair, read scriptures and stories and sang to her until she felt she was ready for a nap, and now here I am.  They are talking about taking her out of ICU maybe later today, so that is real progress!

Larry, Darrel broght the parcel you sent, and it is lovely!  Thank you so much for your thoughtful  kindness.

Time to nibble some more on that fruit bouquet!

My goodness, I can't believe nobody has posted all afternoon.  But glad you are all busy.  Darrel left around 3, so I am keeping the vigil alone again.  But my Ulysses friends Pat and Burla are coming tomorrow and I am really excited about that.

I was wrong to say they are taking Beth out of ICU.  They do plan to move her to Select Care tomorrow on yet another floor.  This is managed by Select Care Hospital, and has the same level of skilled nursing care, wound care, etc., as the MICU.  She is still having lots of sweats, and can't eat but a few bites.  She has already lost 40 pounds!!  I would like to lose 20 or so, but certainly not this way.   :(

She wants me to stay later with her tonight so the night won't seem so long, so I will do that.  I think I will try to watch a movie on my laptop as we can't find anything we want to watch on TV.
