JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Jeanne ~ When I started all this cleaning of my crystal....estimation of over 300 pieces...I told myself to trim it all down.  Well, I only got rid of one piece.  It was like old memory week...I could remember where it was purchased or who gave it to me as a gift.  I have salt mills that belonged to both grandmothers as well as current pieces.

The baby shower was awesome.  Gone are they days with it was only cake, ice cream, nuts, mint and punch served.  Let's just say I ate two dinners last evening!!

High winds all night.  I don't think it rained or if it did, not much.  I didn't notice any lightening or thunder.  But I felt like the roof was going to blow off.

I am leaving in a few minutes for my day long Basic Photography Seminar with live models to shoot!  I have no idea when I will be back home.

Tomorrow is Mother's Day and we are all suppose to wear hats to church.  Remember when it was hats, dresses, dress shoes and white gloves when you went to church?  Gone are those days also.  Kind of sad.

Hi everyone.  Another Saturday has quickly rolled around.  The main activity for today will be taking our daughter back to her apartment, probably this afternoon.  Yesterday was a very tiring day but I slept well and feel rested this morning.  We are suppose to have a very lovely day and I think a little cooler than the last couple of days.

Yesterday our daughter treated Pat and I to a Mexican lunch to help celebrate Mother's Day.  She also gave her a dozen yellow roses and a nice card.  She gets such pleasure out of doing the gifts that it brings joy to my heart.

Judy, I had not heard that hymn before and it does have wonderful words.  I had to dig a bit to find the midi tune.

Gord, hope you get your miniture golf game in and the weather cooperates.  I haven't played that game for many years.  I wasn't any better at it than I was when I tried to play golf at the beginning of my work career, and that was many years ago.

Carol, it was so hot here yesterday that it is hard to imagine temperatures in the teens and getting snowed out.  Stay warm.  Sure glad that wasn't one of Don's new hearing aids that he lost.

Etta Sue, there wasn't any reason to rush into your 2002 cleaning.  Since it is done now, or at least part of it, think of all the effort you saved yourself by waiting until now to accomplish it.  :)  My mother, for many years, had to do spring and then fall housecleaning and I mean cleaning.  Everything came out of closets and all surfaces cleaned.  Of course, we lived in the country on a dirt road and the windows had to be open in summer, which made the need greater.  She continued that even after she moved off the farm.

Janet

It surely doesnn't feel like spring here!  B-r-r-r-r!

I got a nice surprise yesterday.  A long box arrived, and inside was a dozen roses, assorted colors, and a vase for them.  They are from Beth and John, with a nice note enclosed.  I'm sure John ordered them--he is such a blessing!  I am glad he is coming here again in July.

I have my painting group today, so am cooking a meal for all of them.  It is almost time, so this won't be long!  Just wanted to check in right quick while we have internet!  More problems, no access at all yesterday.

God bless you all, and Happy Mothers Day to all you/us moms!

WE HAVE SNOW!!!  ugggggg and it is to last till tomorrow night.  We had the power out till just a few minutes ago.  Ruth has taken some pictures, I am hoping to persuade her to post them.  It is a winter wonderland out there today.  I hope Pat doesn't encounter bad weather on her way home.

Larry that has been a favourite of mine for years,  But it is never sung in the churches I go to.  Sad about that.

Well I am off, enough to do now that we have power again.  John's meals need to be prepared.

Jeanne Lee

Judy, Gene always called the late spring snowstorms "poor man's fertilizer".   :D

Rain storms , and added to that snow not very much here but the folk to the far north got a whole lot more.       We called Mel's brother and with a laugh he said Merry Christmas.

Jeanne Lee:   Never heard that expression before, but it is a good one.

Etta Sue:   Is your camera a very professional one that does all the fun stuff. Mine is a point and shoot with goodies, but even at that technology is changing all the time.

I had taken a recent photo into a camera shop to be restored as they called it and I must say that they did a remarkable job.  Not all camera shops that do developing specialize in this type of thing and I am so glad that I found one that does.

The night again is almost over and will check in again

Well we are back.  We still have snow, lots of snow.  Jeanne I have heard that expression.  It is moisture, which we need.  Even the beaver dam by our property is not up to its usual level.

I am gone for the night.

Janet

When I came home, no internet.  Two guys came, spent two and a half hours, gave up, said they will be back again in the morning--and all at once it was back on.  Probably not for long, so will post quickly while it is on!

We are needing rain again, but sure don't want snow in May!  It is really chilly for this late in the season.  Crazy weather nearly everywhere, it seems.

The photography workshop was really informative.  I want to purchase a software called Topaz.  It does things similar to HDR (High Dynamic Range) but more.  My camera has all the things you can change...aperature, speed, exposure, focusing, lighting, etc. but my best photos are taken when it is set on automatic.  I don't know why but with flash my camera is terrible.  I take the picture and then it flashes, processes and captures.  That about 5 seconds and you can't move the camera or the subject move.  Terrible.

We left Muncie, about 45 minutes away and then Kitty and I went to Indy to Fry's.  She wanted Photo Shop CS5, Photomatics and somethingBelse.  I wanted Topaz.  None available at Fry's.  I did get an external Hard Drive to back up on the laptop and desktop.  Topaz is actually a plug-in for PhotoShop or PSP.  I guess I will have to download and purchase from the net.  They said to get the stand alone version...not as a plug-in.  More bells and whistles.

As for house cleaning, Ivalou still does or did do the spring and fall house cleaning.  Washed ceiling and walls in the bathroom.  Moved the mattress and box springs and swept under...her bed frame is built-in as well as her dresser/chest of drawers.  I asked her the last time if there were any cobwebs under the bed.  No.  Was the water dirty when you cleaned the walls?  No.  True, we used to have smokers in the house, the windows open, windows weren't as tight as the replacement windows, more traffic going in and out so it isn't necessary to clean as often.  BUT I should have cleaned the crystal sooner than 9 years!!  At least they weren't cobwebby!!

Happy Mother's Day to all.  All of us Mother's were blessed when we became mothers way back when or even yesterday!

Hi everyone.  It is a cool but very lovely day here in Georgia.  Only suppose to get around 70 degrees this afternoon.  We haven't had to turn on the heat this morning but do have a sweatshirt on to be comfortable.

This is youth Sunday at church and they are having only one service at 10:30.  The choir isn't singing as the choir loft is filled by the youth of the church.  Pat and I decided to have a quiet day at home and are not attending the service.

We took our daughter back to Atlanta yesterday afternoon and got back about 4:30.  It wasn't a hard drive but both Pat and I were tired when we got back.

Etta Sue, sounds like you will be doing some advanced photo editing work.  I have never heard of that software you are looking for.  You can download it from the web and then save a copy on a CD or DVD so you don't lose track of it.

Judy and Ruth, sure don't like the sound of having snow this time of the year.  I don't think we are in any danger down here of that happening.

Do hope Paul and Pat had a safe journey to Guelph yesterday.

Janet, it is so frustrating when the Internet isn't working as it should.  It has been a long time since I haven't had trustworthy service here at the house but the Internet at McDonald's seems to be hit and miss.  It works some days and others it doesn't.  The flowers were a thoughtful gift on the Mother's Day.

RuthV

Hello everyone!

Happy Mother's Day!!

I uploaded three pictures of the snow in a Photo Album. I only have an old Fujifilm FinePix A210, so they are not of top quality, however the snow on the trees tell the story.

My husband brought Mr Snowman to life, however he left very quickly this afternoon....  ;D although it's cooled down to 44.6 Degrees Fahrenheit, now

Ruth

It was cold here and alas we also had a few flakes of snow.

Ruth V:   You keep all that snow but I did enjoy your camera work.   Thanks for taking the time to take and post the pictures.

Hi everybody!  I had a busy day:  church, lunch, then to the home to read to Mom a while, then attended the Mothers Day Tea with Mom and Beth; then to Diane and Jeff's for supper and a nice visit.  I have to go to work at 6 AM tomorrow, so am heading to bed early.  Hope my internet stays on this time!
