Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

I'm just popping in to say all is well with Beth, except for a raging UTI and infection in her eye.  I have a UTI as well, and found a lump in my armpit, so was sent for a mammogram this morning.  This, too, shall pass.  There are only four places I am supposed to be tonight--and I would rather stay home!  :(

Be back tomorrow.

Hi, friends,

I didn't realize I missed coming to CP yesterday. I took the badly disabled friend to her doctor's appointment. Then to the bank.

Next, she had been commenting about what a beautiful day it was; that the sunshine was so bright; and the fall colors were beautiful. And, I tried to put myself into her predicament. She lives in an efficiency apartment that doesn't have the beautiful view that my own apartment has. Also, since she is nearly helpless, she only gets out of her apartment to go to the doctor. So, with nothing on my afternoon calendar, I chose to take her for a little ride past the dam. She had never seen the water rushing through the spillway as it was doing yesterday. Also, I realized she had a concept of the lake as being slightly larger than a pond. So, I circled back around and drove her over top of the dam so she could get a better concept how huge the lake is. It was a thoroughly delightful afternoon and she was so grateful to get to go.

Today has been a rest day. That has been welcome. :)

Y'all have a good rest of the day.

Ruth Ann, what a lovely thing you did for your friend.  I can just imagine how she felt being so close to the dam and seeing the water run over it.

Still praying for you, Janet.

Hi everyone on this last day of October.  I just opened the candy package so am ready for the little folks this evening.  I am also more than ready to reset the clocks before going to bed tonight.  I plan a quiet day today and may take in a new meeting in the late afternoon.  Yesterday I did get a haircut and then stopped by the phone store to pick up the old phone Pat had been using.  Yesterday afternoon I got a call from the phone store that they had received the shipment of new iPhones.  So I went back down to the phone store and bought a new iPhone 6S Plus.  I spent several hours last evening getting it somewhat set up like I want it.  I will work on it more later today.  I really like it as the screen is bigger and when I used it this morning before getting up to read the discussions it was easier to read on the larger screen.  The screen is 5.5 inches diagonally.  I was surprised but it just does fit into the carrying case I keep on my belt.  One feature I really like is the use of the thumb print for logging on to the phone.  It is very convenient.  This phone also has 64 gigs of memory rather than the 16 gigs I had in the LG phone I traded in.

Janet, it sounds like even with the infections that Beth had good news from the doctor visit.  Not good news about the lump in your armpit and hope the report is that it is not something too serious.  Since you couldn't be in four places last evening I hope you stayed home as you said you would rather do.

Ruth Ann, nice of you to once again help the badly disabled friend to get tot he doctor and then take her on a sight seeing tour.  Is this a different friend than the one you had indicated was becoming too much for you to handle?  Glad you could rest yesterday.

Good morning Pat.

Good Saturday morning to you all!  I'm really glad there are no "have-tos" on my calendar today.  What I did last night was none of the four things I already had on tap; John called and said they were having a special dinner at the Legacy and he and Beth wanted us to come eat with them.  So that's what we ended up doing.  It was a simple meal--your choice of a Dagwood sandwich or a hot dog, chips or cheetos; then followed by pie and ice cream.  We then went and visited with our 98 year old friend, Maxine.  She is doing remarkably well right now, but is confused on some things.  She has told me three times lately that her husband died young, they only had 20 years together.  Actually, he was quite old, and they had been married 57 years!  ;)  She is a sweetheart, always knows me and is so happy to see me; asks about Darrel, and knew him last night, too.  She doesn't recognize many people now, so I feel good she knows me. (TMI)  And we got home in time to watch the ball game, but gave it up before the end.  The score stayed the same, though.

Ruth Ann that was so sweet of you to take the lady for a little outing!  I have done that a few times too, and those who are house-bound appreciate it so much!  I remember one lady who nearly cried with joy, saying, "I can see the clouds!  And the trees!  I haven't been out of that room in months!"  I hope people always show kindness and consideration of you, because you are so good to them--and you deserve it!

Larry, the doctor said the lump isn't attached to anything, but is within the skin layers.  Just watch it, and if it starts to grow or becomes infected, I will have to get it removed.  The antibiotic he prescribed is working wonders!!  I'm so happy it's helping so soon!  I hope you like your new iPhone 6S Plus.  I'm still trying to learn the iPhone 6 I got a while back.

The gal didn't get her order in on time, so now I won't get the wedding invitations until Tuesday.  >:(  I had planned to address them today.  Little by little, I guess I will be able to pull everything together for the wedding to be nice.

I need to look at Abby's school's website.  Her mom said there are photos of Abby on it, receiving all kinds of notes, posters and balloons from the kids at the elementary school yesterday.  She is a teacher's aide there, and sounds like the kids really love her!  :)

Sorry the Royals got beat last night, but it's not over till it's over!  ;)

Janet, I'm a Mets fan, so I'm happy about last night's game.   :D  Of course, there's more money for everyone if they go the full 7 games.   :)

Cloudy today, but not raining and it shouldn't be too cold for the little ones later.

Jeanne, I'm not really a big sports fan, but since I DO live in Kansas.....you know the rest!  And for sure the money, both made and spent will be more if they go the full seven games! ;)

That's where I'm lucky.  Nobody in the house to be bothered.  Of course, during the summer when the windows are open....

Hi, friends,

Yes, Larry, it is the same lady. I don't know when will be the last time I take her anywhere, so I wanted her to have some good memories. She's a dear Christian lady who is certainly enduring tremendous hardships and pain right now.

It was wonderful to hear from so many of you today. You certainly make life more enjoyable and interesting for me. :)

Much love to all,
Ruth Ann
