Morning Devotional...
Scripture: Matthew 6:6
"Here's what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won't be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace. MSG
The following story may or may not be true but the spiritual implications apply every day.
It was the middle of the 1930's and the great depression had swept throughout America. A man named Frank realized that he had nothing else for his family to eat. Frank and his family prayed for food and he grabbed his old shotgun, the last three remaining shells he had, and went hunting.
As he walked down the road, he saw a rabbit and shot, but missed. (Shell one) Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot, but missed it also. (Shell two) As he went further, he saw a wild turkey roosting in a large tree. He had only one shell left and as he got ready to shoot, he could hear, "pray first, aim high and stay focused."
However about the same time, he saw a deer which would be a better meal for him and his family. He brought the gun down and trained his site. But, then he noticed a large rattle snake lying on the ground right in front of him that was about to strike, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattle snake.
He heard again, "I said pray, aim high and stay focused." Frank decided to do that. He prayed, aimed the gun high up in the tree and shot the wild turkey. Some of the shot from the shotgun shell bounced off the turkey hitting the deer.
The blast of the shotgun was so powerful that Frank dropped the gun, which hit the snake in the head killing it and knocking Frank into a near pond. When Frank was finally able to stand, he noticed his pockets were full of fish. Now Frank had venison, turkey, snake and fish to eat.
Pray first before you do anything, aim high in your goals, and stay focused on God!
Prayer: Father thank you that when I'm focused high on you everything else is in perspective. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
I did go paint yesterday, but after trying to eat some lunch, th pain just about got the best of me, and I had to stop painting and lie down for a bit. It's good there was a couch there in the room. And that someone had some Advil she shared with me. It took the edge off the pain enough that I made it home okay. When I take the pain meds, they make me feel bad in other ways. Well, this, too, shall pass.
I am not thinking really clearly, probably due to the meds and lack of quality sleep. Sorry.
I know this devotional is a little "far-fetched" for our literal minds, but felt it has a good lesson in it, anyway.
Janet ~ Great devotion. We may not want to do what God is telling us to do but when we do what He wants, it is always right.
I pray this pain you are having will soon go away and that sleep will come naturally to you soon.
I fixed your link for you.
Thanks for the devotional, Janet. The story may be "far fetched" but, as you say, it does have spiritual implications for our daily life. Too often, we think we know what's the best thing to do and set out to take care of things in our own strength, instead of taking the time to quiet ourselves before the Lord and listen for His voice. He has a better plan!

Sorry for your pain Janet. I can't take pain killers with narcotics in them either. I am praying for you, will continue to do so.
We are heading to bed soon. Loosing an hours sleep has done us in. Have a good night everyone.
Good Morning everyone. It is a beautiful Morning...Sun is shining, and birds are singing!..
Janet did you sleep last night?
Kass is out walking, the running will be soon I expect. She loves the exercise. Elizabeth is baking today. If she does everything she says she is going to do we will be over run with baked goods. That will be nice for all but my waist. LOL
Have a great day everyone.

Church was great. About all 25 of us women were in the choir section and sang our song that we rehearsed in Nashville. Sunday School was studying about the prodigal son. Then five of us ladies went to King Chef for lunch. We really enjoy that restaurant. We are waited on instead of a buffet. And most of the time we bring some home for around $6. Not bad at all for one meal, let alone two meals.
Then I worked on the laptop for a while and Kitty called and wanted me to go to Office Depot and Staples with her. It is getting quite expensive for her to print the Memory Book at home!! She isn't half done and it is almost $300. We are printing about 60 pages and making 35 books! She said so far with just the ink it is running around $24 per book! That's terrible! But her and Bob said they are committed to pay for the printing. It does seem that Office Depot will be about half that!
Then Kitty and I went to Chili's for chips, salsa and queso dip. I think that is what the cheese dip is called.
Today is trash day and the trash is already to be picked up. Then rehab for Ivalou and to the grocery store.
Tomorrow Ivalou and I can get our taxes and then play Euchre.
Everyone have a wonderful day! ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Etta Sue, do you ever slow down? :D Love that cute kitty "Whatever it is I didn't do it." ;D
Another sunless day and predicted showers that haven't shown up yet. At least the temperatures are mild so when/if they do come it will be in liquid form.
Thank you so much for fixing the link for me, Etta Sue. Those reunion booklets sound wonderful; lots of work and expense involved, so I hope everyone expresses their appreciation to Kitty and spouse.
I got some sleep last night, not enough, Judy. And had to be up at 5 AM as I went back to work today. Yawn.
Daughter Diane came up and went to the movies with me last night. That's a first for us, and we both enjoyed it so much. The movie was Nicholas Sparks' "Dear John." I had read the book so I knew it would be good. ;)
Diane asked me why I was going back to work and I said I was called unexpectedly and didn't have my NO ready. Ha. I can manage the four hours, it isn't bad and I enjoy the people.
I really messed up trying to uninstall and reinstall my printer. I deleted it instead. So I am waiting for Mark to come. He is on Spring Break this week. Diane and Darrel both said I will have to find and reinstall the drivers for it. I should know better than to try stuff like that without help.
Boy, things are getting really rough and nasty in Mexico! I guess we won't be going there again any time soon! Several murders there, of Americans, over the weekend--even in Acupulco!
I need a nap, so I am going to try and get one!
Dear Ones, Just to let you know my 13 yr. old english setter Duchess has left us on Saturday.
I know I had to let her go but oh, does it hurt.
The lung cancer just got the best of her...the good thing it went so fast that she did not seem to suffer much. She was always so good, so sweet and lovable to everyone...
I know I had to let her go,But ,oh, when does the sadness end.
Ohhhh Joyce my heart breaks with yours... We move on but the pain doesn't ever entirely go. I miss my boys so much still. At least Duchess is no longer suffering.Several of us here have lost our dear pets..... Let another setter wiggle its way into your heart. That does help. God Bless you I am praying.
Joyce, I don't know where dogs go after death. The Scripture doesn't tell us anything about the animals. But I know God appreciates dogs and other animals, since He made them. "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" Of course He will. And He loves you, too, Joyce.
Thank you Judy for your kind words.
Al, you are God sent--how did you know that I was wondering that same thing.
I wanted to ask if anyone knows a scripture in the bible that I may read about animals 'cause I could not find one.
But, dear Al, your words are so comforting.
Thank you to know just what was in my heart and thoughts and for posting.
Talk to you all tomorrow.
I am heading home to a very cold house--we are in the hardest hit section in New Jersey--haven't had power since Sat. 6 PM just 6 hrs. after Duchess left us, Ironic, isn't it?? She would have stand this cold better than I and I would have had her to keep my "toes" warm... She sure loved to snuggle.
Power company is advising we may have electric back on by Thursday--my shop has power so we are warm enough and the good Lord blesses us with good family members to keep us fed...Also familly members have heat and room for us to stay.
Hubby and I will see how cold it is at home when we get there and decide what to do.
Thought we would have power by now.
Keep us in your prayers.
Joyce: Hugs to you. We still get weepy in our family when talking about the dogs we adopted right off the highway in one case.
Al: I have never heard that phrase about God being the Judge of all the earth and it is certainly comforting.
As a mom, I know that worrying is pointless but when there are tough times, it is difficult to ignore those concerned feelings. I won't feel up to par until son-in-law gets a job and daughter gets a much better job.
We took a long hike today in the desert and the flowers are not blooming yet - soon though. Our neighbors from home are on their way to this area and have been stopped near the border with fog, snow, and ice.
Joyce Judy is right about letting another Setter wiggle into your heart. It does help to get another dog, the new one will never take the place of Duchess but he or she will give you just as much love.
Carol - see Genesis 18:25.
Today we go to the Co-Op. We just get a very few things there, because the prices are higher, but there are some things we can't get elsewhere. Besides, it's senior discount day every Tuesday.
:) I am smiling because I did have the correct verse in mind after reading what Al wrote. The last sentence of the verse says "Will not the God of all the earth do right?" I know lots and lots of scriptures but do not know the references for them, so have to use my Concordance a lot.
Sorry about your dog, Joyce. I think most of us have gone through that, and lots of us multiple times. Time does make it easier.
We almost wish we hadn't accepted this dog.. He is a good dog, but I haven't bonded with him as I would like, and Darrel is lots better but the dog still annoys him. :-\
We are getting ready to set out for Elkhart, down on the Kansas-Oklahoma border, where Darrel will have some tests and a biopsy done. He surely isn't looking forward to it, and I don't blame him. Please pray he gets a good report.
Tomorrow we go to Dodge City to see the ENT doctor about my tongue. I hope he will have some answers for me, to lessen the pain without putting me to sleep. I do okay if I keep moving, but if I get still I fall asleep. And when I eat anything, I pay for it with greatly increased pain for a couple of hours. :(
The sun just popped up over the horizon, though! God's in His heaven; all's right with the world.

Wow! It is nice and sunny here and green grass galore after a few days of warm weather and rain! There isn't a cloud in the sky. It's a little nippy out there but it sure does look like spring!
Today is to get our taxes. They are done electronically but we have to pay the preparer. Then I come back by our houses, get Jane from just west of me and head to Noblesville to play Euchre. Euchre day is always a fun day! Lots of talking, laughing and fun. The game isn't serious...at least, none of us take it serious!
Can't think of any other news-worthy items to tell you about! a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m. a.m. p.m.

Good Day, coffee is brewing.
Al: Thank you - much appreciated your always being there when needed. I pray that you and Marbeth are doing well.
We had an enjoyable hike in the desert yesterday and did I ever sleep well.
Lent Day 24: The Book of Luke
God says, you seem to want more energy, an upbeat attitude, a fulfilling sense of personal significance. Does that describe My Son when He lived on earth?
In your heart, you rarely find a desire stronger than your wish to be satisfied with life's blessings, to feel both confident in My goodness that they'll continue and excited about life's opportunities. Your desire for spiritual formation lies on top of those self-focused desires like an attractive veneer. It needs to lie beneath them as the controlling foundation of your life.
You are standing at a crossroads that not many reach, a crossroads where the choice between absolute surrender and lukewarm Christianity is clear. You must now determine which you want more: apparent maturity that wins recognition from others or perfect maturity that puts you in touch with desires that will remain unsatisfied until the next life.
The road to perfect maturity will make you vulnerable to severe temptations. It will stir doubts about My reality that you could avoid by choosing the easier path.
(from 66 Love Letters: A Conversation with God that Invites You into His Story by Dr. Larry Crabb, ©2009.)
But if you want to be formed like My Son, this is the road you must choose, the one less traveled.
Today is laundry day for me, I bathed Happy first thing this morning so I have a whole load of wet dog towels. He is sure improving there was hardly any fur in the tub when the bath was over.
It looks overcast again today, the last two were sunny and warm at about 59° if you call that warm, to me it is warm.
Hi everyone. I have had a very busy couple of days. On Sunday our daughter called saying her computer had crashed. Since she is dependent on it for a number of things, including her telephone service, I made the decision to get her another one rather than try to repair the one she is using. The one she has is very underpowered and I think it may have been causing the problems with her telephone for quite awhile.
So yesterday my friend and I went computer shopping and found a very nice and powerful Compaq (HP) for a very good price. So last evening I started getting it ready for her by taking off a lot of the software they package with it that is trail or not needed. I then loaded the necessary anti-virus, anti-spam software and some maintenance software like the Advanced System Care. This morning I have made recovery disks for it and now have it in the car and as soon as my lunch is finished I will head to her apartment and set it up for her. This is the first 64 bit computer that I have worked with and didn't have any problem getting the older programs to load, with one exception of an old game that Pat said she wouldn't play anyway.
Janet, with the name and model of the printer you can always find the drivers for it on the web by going to the manufacturers site and looking in the download section. Then you download the appropriate one and click on it and it will install the drivers. There is no problem in deleting the printer and unless you actually deleted the printer program the drivers are probably already there. You could just click on the "add a printer" icon in the printers and faxes screen from the Control Panel. It sounds more complicated than it is. If you have the disk that came with the printer, that is the easier way.
Janet, thanks for the devotional for this week. It is a thoughtful piece.
Joyce, sorry to hear that you have lost your dog. I know pets are very dear to us.
About finished with my lunch and time to hit the road so I can get back in time for my afternoon rest period.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FHappySt.gif&hash=52b50221430887d19cb8e64832d3a8ffa43ee569)
Good morning. It is nice to know that with these small incomes that I receive that I don't have to pay the government more or the state more. Good day at the tax preparers office.
Euchre was fun. Ivalou is so funny. She says things that makes you stop and wonder and then you laugh until you cry because she is laughing so much. She is a treasure!
Today is rehab and then I have nothing positive to do until church Sunday morning! Yeah! But I really need to get outside and trim my hibiscus and butterfly bushes that I didn't cut down last fall!
Bright and sunny again today and it is suppose to get in the 60's today! There is frost on the ground now in the shade but as soon as the sun hits it, it will be gone. So nice not to have to wear heavy coats when going outside! >^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<>^<+>^<

Well, here we go again. Today is grocery shopping day. 16 miles to and 16 miles from. We pour out our money and eat for another week.
Thanks for the devotional Janet. It is good to be reminded about the need for prayer. I did not know that you were in pain. I don't know what the problem is, but at least we can all pray about it.
We are all working a seven day week at the moment as three people left in the past fortnight. I don't feel bad on it though and I love the work, but there is no time for anything else. I have read all of the posts, but will have to go for a lie down.
God bless all.
Anthony.
p.s. I enjoyed the thoughts about the animals, and what happens to them after death. There are some thoughts in the Bible about God's care for animals. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me.
Another busy day for us. One of the alarm customers in Garden has a problem, so we will make a circle drive today; first to Garden to get that fixed and take the car to the dealer so the salesman can Sync our phones to it (everything works now except the phone spoken commands) and then drive on over to Dodge City for my doctor's appointment at 2:30.
Darrel had a rough day yesterday--NINE biopsies! And then a huge shot of Rocefin. He could barely walk when we left Elkhart. Four days until we get the results, will keep praying!
Larry, you are such a wonderful Dad. Stacey is very blessed to have you. Thanks for the advice re the printer situation.
I have already been to my chiropractor, now need to get going to Garden City.
Hello Anthony! You posted as I was composing. Glad you are enjoying your work. I had surgery on my tongue, they cut off a chunk of it; thus the pain. Gotta run!
I have been busy since I got up this morning. After breakfast I started (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fcooking%2F1.gif&hash=3f3f7aa56a600c25eb828ce856a46e6ec6ee606d) cooking a new pot of food for the dogs. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fdogs%2F1.gif&hash=500b272338e29262b7c4cd7f1e766a56899a3e9b)
I boiled some rice, browned some hamburger, added the rice, some oatmeal, a couple of tablespoons of fresh ground flax meal and veggies to the hamburger. I let it get to boiling and shut if off to cool then I filled two Tupperware quart containers, there was a little over a cup left in the pot so I gave that to the dogs, I tasted it first, they gobbled it right up. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Feating1%2F4.gif&hash=6f699646840e754b6c9da66a21ecb15f292040e4)
I've also folded a load of clothes that I left in the dryer last night when I went to bed and washed a small load of underwear and socks, swept and mopped the kitchen floor, ran the dishwasher and put that load of underwear in the dryer. Whew, I worked up a sweat. (https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fbestsmileys.com%2Fhot%2F1.gif&hash=7a2971834fec82369fd259b2a8a248c41c8c3903)
Doug was working on the van again today. One more day and it will be ready to go.
Kass was in there both hands and feet, getting greasy and dirty. I had a great visit with Megan. We ate supper, and then headed home.
I pray everyone has a good evening.
Hi everyone. I will get an early start today as have time to post before leaving for coffee. I didn't get to post yesterday as were gone all morning with Bible Study and then visiting with friends. We didn't go to lunch yesterday for various reasons. Yesterday evening was choir practice. We are getting ready for Easter services and had a good turnout for choir practice.
Today should be a lighter day. Think I will get a haircut and a friend is coming over for an hour or so late this morning. Then the rest of the day is free. I need to get some work done in preparation for my income tax. I did fill out and submit the census form yesterday. Fortunately we got a short form.
This may be a very pivotal week in American history with the health care situation. We have a lot of cowardly congressmen who are hiding behind a technically to deem they have passed something they haven't voted on, at least that is the speculation. Terribly serious things are happening in the USA now (in my humble opinion).
Judy, maybe Kass will become a lady mechanic. At least it is good that she is learning about the care of a vehicle.
Marilyn, you really do treat your dogs with the homemade food. I hope they appreciate it. :)
Janet, my heart goes out to Darrell as it sounds like he was really subjected to a lot with the test and the shot. Hope some positive news comes by his way soon. You both have had a hard few weeks here this winter.
Anthony, hope you are finding sometime to do what you want to do as well as working the seven days a week. That schedule can get old very fast.
Al, I have always considered buying food a very good way to spend my money. Hope you found some real bargains.
Etta Sue, glad your tax preparer gave you good results. I am sort of dragging my feet this year as certain I will have to pay more taxes as I did a withdrawal from my IRA last year. It is certainly great that Ivalou can find humor rather than bitterness from her speaking situation. It sounds like she has a great personality, as do you. You two must be sisters. :)
We are suppose to have some passing rain again today. It was cold and raw here yesterday and I suppose it will be again today. However, tomorrow is suppose to be great with it getting up into the low 70s. I am ready. Hope you have a good day whatever you are doing today.
I was only working in the morning today, so I have the rest of the day to myself. I had a nice day at work today - the people we see are wonderful really when you consider what they have to cope with. I think I will study my Italian this afternoon and continue with the study on the Gospels. It looks like I left the freezer door open all night as most of the foodstuff is partly thawed out :uglystupid: I trust everyone will have a good day today.
Janet, I am sorry to hear that Darrel is needing all of these tests. Will be thinking of him today in prayer. Your tongue must give you great pain :'( will pray for that too.
Marilyn, your dogs are the luckiest animals out - I hope they appreciate your efforts.
God bless JudyB, I hope that the truck gets sorted out. I had take my van through the yearly M.O.T. test that we have here in the U.K. It passed with flying colours. It will need a major service in the summer though. It is now over 6 years old and still has the original brake fluid.
Larry, I hope you have a good day today. Being busy can be nice, but it's nice to chill out occasionally (and it's good you still have some to cut!)
God bless all, Anthony)
Oh dear, Anthony! What a shame to lose all that food! I'm sure you'll double check the freezer door from now on.
Back to more March-like weather today. We got spoiled the last couple of days with sun and temperatures more like late April. But that will come again. ;)
OH Anthony I have done that too as has my daughter. Rough when food costs are so high. Enjoy your afternoon.
(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FBigHug2.gif&hash=007a07940a0c5a34b29caca5d23001aa4396f2cc)
Rehab was quick yesterday. Then we ate at Bob Evans. I watched a lot of TV yesterday since I had my two days in Nashville and didn't get to watch my recorded shows. Almost caught up!
Today I fixed some ham and beans. Then I decided to see if anyone was at church to take some images to install on the computer for the overhead projector. I did that and when I got back home my friend from Mexico had called me. He is staying in Phoenix right now so I called him back. He usually can't hear his cell phone ring but he answered. We had a nice conversation.
Then I called Ivalou to see if she would like to have ham, beans and cornbread for lunch. So I had a lunch guest today. She hadn't been in my house since July and has been here for three times this week!
I forgot to tell you all about Sunday. Our little church is two stories with a door at ground level and you go down 5 steps to the basement and up 10 steps to the sanctuary. We are fortunate to have an elevator that stops at all three levels. Ivalou and I have been using the elevator. But Sunday on the way to church she said she wanted to try the stairs. She did great! She went up those stairs like nobody's business and down just as easy!
After Ivalou went home today, I went out to the garage and got my pruners and trimmed the hibiscus' and the butterfly bushes. The limbs are still on the ground but they are trimmed. Maybe I will pick up the limbs later today or maybe tomorrow!
Now I am in the house looking out at the bright sunshine! It is sooo nice outside! But someone is predicting s**w Sunday afternoon! What? Spring begins Sunday!!(https://www.christianphotographers.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz77%2FEttaSue%2FCP%2FAnis%2FFootprints.gif&hash=44496580d083bac067afa63bf86e200c298046a8)

My tongue looks more normal now; the dr. took out the surface stitches yesterday. That's good, as the ends of the threads tickled the roof of my mouth, and food tried to get caught in the stitches. It is still swollen and very sensitive, but getting better each day.
Darrel is doing better but passing blood in his urine and still having pain. I hope things settle down soon!
I worked this morning, then we went to the Sr. Center so he could have his toenails trimmed. While he was doing that, I walked across the street to the courthouse and got the tag and handicapped card for Beth's van. I will have to get the rest of them another day, when Darrel finds the insurance cards. He finds himself putting things in the wrong places lately, sometimes. :-\
Larry, I couldn't agree with you more about what is happening in our wonderful country. If we don't all pray and stay alert, we may just find ourselves citizens of a communist country before long. It is scary and heart-breaking. :'(
Etta Sue, it is so good to read of yours and Ivalou's escapades, and know she is recovering so well. Praise God.
Judy, being a mechanic might just be a great choice for Kass! That is, if she really likes that kind of work. I always believe in letting them follow their dreams, within reason, of course. ;)
Mark flew up this afternoon to sort out my printer problem. He had said he would take me up in the plane, maybe he thinks the wind is too high. Or maybe he will take me up when I drive him back to the airport. How I love and enjoy these grown-up grandsons! Enjoyed them so much ever since they were born, actually.
Anthony, good to read that you have a little time for yourself. All work and no play...well, you know how that goes! But I'm happy you enjoy your work, that is one of life's greatest blessings.
I guess I will go in the other room and see how Mark is doing on the PC.
Janet - I so agree with you regarding the danger of waking up to be citizens of a communist country. In addition to prayer, we need repentance, because, as citizens of this country, we have sinned. We need confession and petition, fasting and prayer.
Janet Kass would love to know your grandson! Continuing to pray.
We need to pray as well here in Canada....People here are so apathetic.
Had a young man here for the afternoon. Time for the shotgun we are thinking. LOL This is the Christian young man from Church. Wonderful family. We are enjoying March Break.
Etta Sue, Iva Lou seems to be making wonderful progress! Praise the Lord.
Looks like a busy day ahead for me, but the Lord prepared me for it with a really good night's sleep. So I'll be running some errands, including taking several bags of garbage to the dump. Not one of my favorite excursions, but... getting rid of so much "stuff" is sure creating a lot of trash. Wish I knew why I've hung on to most of it. :D
Janet, I'm so glad to know you are healing well. Prayers continue for both you and Darrel.
Judy, my daughter went to summer school so she could take the regular "Auto Shop" course. During the school year girls were limited to what was known as "Powder Puff Auto Shop" which was totally useless (according to Alice). It wasn't until everything in cars became computerized and there were strict regulations about things like disposal of used motor oil that she let anyone else touch her cars.
Hi everyone. We are having a beautiful day up in the 70s. Very pleasant after several chilly and rainy days.
We had a nice coffee hour at the senior center this morning and then 5 of us went to walk at the gym. I will be working on several projects here at home and need to do some work on taxes as the time is slipping past.
We are meeting friends this evening at a Mexican place for dinner tonight. We had planned on another couple also attending and then coming back to our house to play Mexican Train. However, a few minutes ago we had a call saying the one couple couldn't attend as the ladies sister had suffered a severe heart attack last night and they needed to be with her husband. So doubt we will play games this evening, just have dinner.
Janet, glad that you are feeling better and that you are seeing progress daily.

Lazy day today. I didn't get much accomplished yesterday after I sat down. I guess catching up on my TV shows are an accomplishment to me. I do enjoy my TV. ::)
Today I didn't get up until almost 10am!! That's the latest I have been sleeping in for a long time. Why? :-\ I don't know. I guess the bed just felt too good to get up!
My doorbell rang this morning and it was our Class President. Finally Sue and him got their All About Me's done and current photos. He married a classmate so that is two less to go now. We need 15 more. Not bad out of 56 people. :)
Another bright and sunny day in Indiana. Suppose to get up to the mid-60's. That is great! I see my Surprise Lilies (http://www.hort.wisc.edu/mastergardener/features/flowers/lycoris/lycoris.htm)
are pushing through the ground. Not the lilies themselves. But greenery like for daffodils and irises. Then they get yucky looking...brown and dried up. I mow them down and then grass grows back. Then all of a sudden...lilies come out of the ground...a stalk with beautiful pink lilies. That happens overnight...Surprise Lilies! Tulips are growing also. I have never had tulips before. Neighbor Marge gave me some for my birthday...same day as hers. She even put them in the ground for me! <3 <_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_><_>

When I get up at 5 AM to go to work, then after lunch when I sit down to watch the 700 Club at 2:00, I fall asleep. Makes me so aggravated, but as soon as I am comfortable and warm, zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Mark did take me up last evening for a little while. Our place sure does look different from 1000 feet in the air! He wasn't able to solve my printer problem; seems it is the printer itself. He went looking online and found other people are having the same problem with that particular HP printer. Grrr. It is almost new! I'll bet it hasn't printed 100 pages. :ticked: He tried hooking it to my laptop, still no go. I appreciated his efforts, though.
Al, you are so right about all of us needing to repent. We allowed these people to get elected; we have done nothing as our rights have been stripped from us; we are guilty of the murders of millions of unborn babies. Oh, yes, we deserve the wrath of God. But He is merciful, forgiving, loving and always willing to bring us back into right relationship with Him. Oh, let's pray and repent! If this so-called healthcare mess gets passed into law, it will be a disaster for our entire economy, and many of us, as senior citizens, will soon find ourselves with no health care!
Judy, Mark is a great guy. We are praying for a Christian wife for him. And a good job where he can use his pilot skills. ;)
Thanks for all your prayers. We continue to improve day by day.
Tomorrow is the health fair sponsored by our Pioneer Electric and Pioneer Communications Companies. I don't need another blood test for some time, so that means I can go and get information at the booths, get my gifts for coming and enjoy the free lunch! What a deal, huh? It is also Scrapbooking day, so I will do some of that as well.
It has been snowing at home & is over 6 inches deep now - glad we are not driving home today.
Larry: Don has years of experience in health insurance and volunteered with both party members - now, not one of the party is control is listening to his research - it is like talking to brick walls. This is about health insurance - not care.
Grandson is playing hockey at 5 AM tomorrow for a top team - we shall see if he makes the cut.
It is nice reading your notes after I missed two days. We have been driving in Phoenix traffic and that city goes on forever. However, they have not put in cameras so the speed has been reduced at times but we hear that people don't pay their fines.
Al: 16 miles each way is a long trip for groceries. For years, we had 7 miles to church, high school. library and groceries and it became ordinary. Now that I live closer to everything, it is really nice to not have the distance. Do miss the quiet and little village though.
Carol, good to see you posting! We are getting a little snow here, too.
I thought this was interesting information on St. Patrick. I sure didn't know all this!
Scripture: Isaiah 66:19b
"I'll send them out as missionaries to preach my glory among the nations" MSG
Today is St. Patrick's Day the world over --- don't forget to wear some green!
Carol and I worked with an Irish children's pastor while at International Airport Church in Minneapolis. His research on St. Patrick was driven by a need to know and understand how Saint Patrick fit into God's plan. So here is a fresh look at St. Patrick as related by Pastor Martin --- a true Irishman. He sheds some surprising light on Saint Patrick's life --- pass the corn beef and cabbage!
He was called Patricius and he symbolizes a nation that was changed by God. In 414 AD, the Romans had just left Britain but left behind Roman/Greek culture and the Gospel. However, the Barbarians of Ireland had not been conquered. The Irish were insulated on their island being ruled by clan kings. The organized Christian church of the time had sent missionaries to Ireland, but the Irish clan kings along with the Ancient Celt Priests called druids had executed them.
Patricius was born and lived in England and was kidnapped by marauding Irish bandits and taken to Ireland. In his autobiography he tells of being a slave in Ireland for six years. There he tended pigs and wrote this, "The love of God and the fear of Him surrounded me more and more. And faith grew. And the Spirit roused so that one day I would say as many as a hundred prayers, and one night slightly less." He was a man of prayer.
Later Patricius escaped from Ireland back to England. Patricius became a church leader and received a call to go back to Ireland as a missionary. His previous stay in Ireland as a slave caused him to write, "Daily I expect murder, fraud or captivity, but I fear none of these things because of the promises of heaven. I have cast myself into the hands of God almighty who rules everywhere."
Patricius was not afraid of the the clan kings or the droids and he went straight to tell them the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ. In his humble way he did not show fear as he trusted in his God. The Gospel had been delivered and received by the barbarian clan kings. This was Ireland's initial conversion and the Irish made much progress for the kingdom of God during that period.
Who was Patricius? Well, you know him as St. Patrick. The same St. Patrick who is celebrated with a special day each year when parades abound and people of Irish heritage all wear green and generally eat corned beef and cabbage. But as you can see he wasn't Irish at all. He was English but don't go telling any Irish people that!
So St. Patrick's Day is really a celebration of how one man spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout Ireland at great risk to his own life. It is also a celebration of how the message of the Lord Jesus Christ can change the hearts of a people and save the most ruthless of people. St. Patrick is also living proof of what happens when we cast ourselves into the hands of God almighty who rules everywhere.
Prayer: Father thank you for men like St. Patrick who changed the world for your kingdom. In the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
P.S. I Do know that today isn't St. Patrick's day. ;)
:) Good morning to all. Iam sorry that I have not been on the sight as we have seem to been so busy since we got back from Florida. We had a wonderful time and even the weather was not so good we still had a good time seeing friends and travelling . Noreen had a wonderful time with her sisters on the cruise that she was on with her sisters and she only missed one night at the dinning room. So thank you for all your prayers.
I have clanced through the posts and it is to late to answer them I will try to keep up and stay on the site more often. May the L
:) I will try to say what I was trying to finish with.
May the Lord bless you and give you a Bleessed weekend and may he grant the desires of your heart. Gord. :)
May our God deliver us from the "health care" legislation. In His mercy, may we have less government and more righteousness.
Today is laundry day, so we have to take it down to the launderette.
Hi everyone. Al, amen to your comment regarding the "health care" legislation and less government.
It is a truly beautiful day here in Georgia and will be in the 70s by afternoon.
We had a nice dinner out with friends and then went to their house and I helped them with a few questions regarding their computer. We then played Mexican Train and I was the biggest loser and Pat won the game. We then shared the pecan pie Pat had made for last night. They sent home a big bouquet of Daffodils from their yard.
We have something to attend this morning and then will try to take it easy the rest of the day.
Gord, good to see your posting and know you are back home safe and sound after a good time in Florida.
Janet, is your printer still under warranty? At least you know it wasn't something you are doing. I find that often when I run into a problem others will have had the same problem and have commented where a search engine will pick them up when I do a search. You threw me off on St. Patrick's Day for a bit until I got the end of your posting. :)
Carol, it would seem that they could schedule a game a little later in the day. That is really early.
Etta Sue, that is a very good participation in your memory book project. Glad you seeing the signs of spring. We had the first yard mowed that is lush green in our neighborhood this week. Really looked nice. I see the trees are budding out as well.
Time to so.
Al: John and I have heard a lot about the health care legislation. Seems like a child who is bound to get his way or he sill sto,p his feet. We are praying.
Kass had a rough night last night. We were both awake before light. This will be a rough day.
John is delivering the last of the freight on his trailer. Hopefully he will be home soon. We both have Doctors appts on Monday. It is so good to have a doctor but it is next to impossible to get in to him. Our appt is with his nurse.
Be back later

Another partially sunny day in Indiana. It is suppose to rain, though.
At church tonight is Movie night. We are to give a donation that will help a family of one of the members. Little Ethan was born 15 weeks ago. He is blind/partially deaf. Severe cleft palate and lip. Has a feeding tube that goes straight to his intestines. He is monitored 24/7. He was born at Riley Childrens Hospital in Indy and went home to be with Mom, Dad and big brother, Caden 3, after about 8 weeks. Mom and Dad are with him 24/7, feeding him, changing him, writing numbers down and calling doctors and nurses with the results of the monitors. He almost has daily appointments in Indy with different doctors and surgeons. But this family is a light for God. In every post that is posted on 'Caring Bridge' states their faith in God. Everyone of the doctors, nurses, other patients family members are touched by their faith in our God. But it is taking a toll on their finances. The father is a farmer so their insurance is by the mother who is a teacher. She needs to return to work no later than next fall. Every penny collected will be a big help and they are so gracious for all the caring people who donate.
Ivalou called me last evening and asked if I was okay. I hadn't talked to her all day and she couldn't see a light on at my house. I had the mini-blind closed between her and I and it looked dark at my house! Bless her heart. She was worried about me!
The dryer is about done so I need to fold the sheets.
God Bless Everyone with a God Blessed Day!<OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo> <OO> <oo>

Just checking in and here is a site given to me.
http://wandascountryhome.com/pinetrees/index
Larry: He made a goal right away and was looking good according to his father - but that is a biased opinion for sure. :) He has another game this afternoon and I don't know if this lasts all weekend or not.
Don has gone for a walk but it is so windy and here the flowering bushes bring out a new screaming headache in me.
Noise on the roof every day and it is doves walking around - sometimes I see the shadows in the skylight area - creepy. Like Hitchcock's movie of "The Birds". Does anyone remember that one?
Al: Personally, I am against anyone voting on something that isn't completely written yet - and we still don't know all of the inside deals being made. This is like a mass hypnotism.
Etta Sue: Prayed for your family that your church is supporting.
Yes I remember "Birds". Loved Hitchcock.
We are having a lazy day, John is home and dozing in hes chair. Kass is still under the weather. Should be feeling better soon I hope.
HAve a good evening.
Yes, Carol, I remember the movie Birds! Whenever I see huge flocks of birds, which I do see more and more, I think of the Scripture about birds eating the flesh of men after the huge end-time battle. God is getting them ready!
Mass hypnotism--sounds right to me. I am praying hard that enough people in congress see the truth of the dangers inherent in that terrible bill to vote NO!! If not, we are in deep trouble in this country. But I always remind myself, God is still in control; he will never leave us nor forsake us; He is our source, not the government, or jobs, or pensions, our retirements or anything else. And He loves us. "I once was young and now am old, but I have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread." What a mighty and awesome God we serve! Glory to His name.
I had a good day today. Went to the health fair, walked around picking up information, giveaways such as pens and other trinkets, plus information on a couple things; snacking on fruit and such that was being offered. Then I registered, and since the meeting wasn't starting for another hour and a half I went to the library and unloaded my scrapbooking stuff and worked a while. Then back to the meeting because you had to attend to get the "freebies" which were a nice duffle bag, a heavy coffee mug and a card for 100 free long-distance minutes. Sat through the meeting, ate lunch, went back and worked on scrapbook until almost 6.
I was working on Beth's album and got a lot done. She will be pleased, I think. There were six of us there today, so that was nice.
Darrel packed his bag today for his trip with Curtis to Las Vegas for the Security show. He will leave on Monday. I hope he stays well while he is away.
I think I will get into my pajamas, brush my teeth and read for a while! G'night!

Ivalou didn't go to the movie but I did. I don't remember the title but it was about Queen Esther and her Jew family. Great movie. Done really good and the costumes...fabulous. And I think they kept to the Word of God.
Soon after the movie started a couple came in with a baby carrier. It was Ethan and his Mom and Dad. Ethan had been to the hospital the night before but came out at 3pm. Still his stomach. His little stomach just isn't normal and his Mom and Dad doesn't know what the next step will be. He is a little cutie pie. Even with his eyes shut (blind) and his cleft lip, he smiles so cute! God Bless this family. Big brother, Caden, too!
I came home, watched a little TV, took some aspirin and got a great night's rest. Ya know, Saturday night is my night not to sleep and since I am running the projector system today, I felt I needed a good night's rest. I don't know if Ivalou is going to church or not. Not with me, I know.
I think it is suppose to be rainy today. Earlier I heard the birds singing. Great sounds. Not Birds in Hitchcock movies. Never liked to be scared so didn't like Hitchcock either. But when I was young, I still watched them. Not any more! The news is scary enough!(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*

Hi everyone. No sun for us today and it will be cooler with some rain. The same is suppose to occur tomorrow. I am ready for church. Don't know if Pat will attend or not as she is feeling very tired.
I watched a lot of basketball yesterday and last evening and probably will do so again today. However, will keep an eye on the TV for the voting on the health care business. It appears they probably will pass it and our country moves towards a socialist society. The list of items in the bill that Marilyn sent was enough to turn my white hair even whiter. Really frightening the control the government will have over our lives.
Etta Sue, it must be very tough for young parents to deal with a child with so many health issues. I also feel for the older brother in terms of feeling left out with all the attention required for the baby.
Janet, glad you felt like doing your scrapbooking and the other activities of yesterday.
Judy, hope your daughter is feeling better today and that you all can get some rest.
Carol, I also remember the movie "The Birds". Hitchcock made some eerie moving. However, I remember trying to watch North by Northwest a year or so ago and found it moved extremely slow and turned it off.
Kind of hazy this morning, but it's warming up nicely from the upper 20's last night. Looks like we'll be cooling off a bit this week, though. We've been about 20 degrees above normal for the last week or so - and we're spoiled! :D
I don't know what this day will old, but I know Who holds the day!
Good Sunday Morning, I am getting excited about my trip to California in less than two weeks now. I am looking forward to going to church with Willa and seeing all my old friends in my home church as well as visiting with Gilbert and celebrating Forest's 11th birthday too. That's a lot to get done in 2½ days. Kieth is going to stay home and take care of the critters.
Carol I remember that movie, scared me, even when I tried to watch it again years later. Every time I see a large group of birds sitting on the telephone wires I remember scenes from the movie.
I have an unspoken prayer request for a friend of mine who has a daughter with a drug problem. This daughter overdosed a couple of days ago but is out of the hospital now.
Marilyn, the unspoken request has been added to my prayer list. Such a heart breaking thing.
It sounds as though you're going to have a wonderful trip to California. When do you leave? I'll ask travel mercies for you.
Jeanne I don't leave until the 2nd.
Debate on the health care issue continues. God have mercy.
Darrel put a big chicken in the crock pot last night for a while, and then left it on real low while we were gone to church, so it was falling off the bone tender when we got home. We were trying to think of something to fix to go with it; and he said he sort of wanted some dressing.....we had some old bread, and I decided to try making stovetop stuffing from scratch. If I'd had some sage (left mine at Diane's) it would have been just as good as from a mix! So with some mashed potatoes and gravy, plus "fixins'" it made a nice meal, and pretty quickly, too. ;)
Darrel is all packed and will leave in the morning, drive to Los Lunas, N.M., spend the night at Curtis' and then they will leave for Los Vegas on Tuesday. So I will have the place to myself for several days.
Have a good trip when the time comes, Marilyn.
I work again this week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Jeanne I don't leave until the 2nd.
Well, Marilyn, I'm gonna beat you to California! I'm leaving tonight!! Joy is on her way up here now, and we'll just turn around and leave again, in order to be in California Monday when others are gathering to "make decisions" regarding Tom. The doctor told Joy that we "need to gather the family" as he does not have long. :'(
I'll see y'all when I get back ... but I have no idea when that will be.
Jane, you'll be leaving after I'm in bed, but I'll have you in my bedtime prayers for travel mercies and for strength and peace for you and all the family.
Marilyn, I'll put your journey on my calendar, but please remind us just before you leave. (Calendars are great, so long as I remember to look at them. :D )
Praying Jane. Janet praying for Darryl. Marilyn praying for a safe trip.
Had Doug and the family here this afternoon. Hot Dogs for lunch..an easy meal that the kids enjoy. I have most of John's meals ready. Just need to add veggies and make up his lunches. Good message and service at church today. A friend has a little one I offered to hold and give her a break. She slept through the entire service, what a joy, she is such a sweetie. At one point I needed help supporting the arm most of her weight was on!!! She is a real cutie.
Have a great afternoon everyone.
