JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Janet, you are simply stressed beyond anything one can imagine.  Right now I am going thro that with Wendy and it is so easy to misunderstand.  We all want to know what is happening with Beth, and pray for her and you, on a regular basis.  Marilyn is praying for a problem in my family and she is a wonderful, caring Chrisitan.  We need to trust God with all our heart, but that doesn't take away the worry and pain.  It simply makes one able to cope and carry on each day.  Know that you are loved by us here and by God.   :) :) :)

One of Wendy's neighbors told her last night that their 28 yr. old daughter just died.  She had become annorexic a few years ago after taking part in a church program that used ' Starving To Raise Money' for one of their missions.  Someone told her how nice she looked after losing weight, so she kept on doing it!  These are Christians and her daughter was much loved.  Were powerless to stop it.  Her Dad could not get a reply at her apt., went over, called the ambulance, they ended up having to pull the plug at the hospital.  I have had personal experience with annorexia and know how dangerous and hard to beat this disease can be.  Still, they will always feel somehow they should have been able to stop her.  Friends here are doing what they can to help, but not much will.  So if anyone feels like praying for Lisa's family, please do so.  They sure do need prayer.

God Bless,

Liz

I am going to join Jane over in the corner, I will intercede for all y-all's prayer requests from there.

Good morning, all of you :)

Marilyn, Janet, love you both.  Let's all pray for Janet - it is amazing how all the "rough" things in life seem to pile up at one time, isn't it.  It's so often, in the Internet world, difficult to say things in a way that the other person will truly understand, isn't it?  So often it's not a case of who's right and who's wrong, it's just that somone misunderstands someone else.  God's love is very real, and He is very able to help us when we misunderstand each other.  Marilyn, like I said yesteday, I LOVE your willingness to pray.  I know Janet appreciates your prayers, too.

So, HEY, everybody, WAKE UP!!!  :)  It's kinda quiet in here.

Hebrews 4:16... "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."

Awwww......Marilyn, I am so sorry.  Everything our friends here have said is so true, and I have been feeling overburdened, over stressed, and not up to par physically.  So again I apologize for my harsh words.  Come on out of that corner and be yourself, it's okay. (((hugs)))

Nards, Jane, Liz, and Al, thank you so much for your caring, your understanding and your prayers.  You have moved me to tears of gratitude and repentance.

OKAY!!  This is a brand new day the Lord has made, how will we invest it for His kingdom?

My wonderful new chiropractor is one of the most understanding people I have ever met.  He asked about Beth, I told him how she wishes she could go to a chiropractor and maybe get some relief for her neck, but they are afraid to touch it because of the surgery she had two years ago in January.  He said he will be happy to just do some tissue massage and try to get her some relief, so we will purrsue that.

My arm kept me awake last night with pain, but I still think I will go to the pool this morning and get some exercise for my legs at least.  It's far too hot to go outdoors and walk.

Liz, how awful for the parents of the 28 year old.  Anorexia is such an insidious and awful thing; it is such a deceiver, making even really thin girls see themselves as FAT.  I will pray for the parents.

Talk to you later.

Aw, darn you guys!  Now ya'all have me in tears.  First tears of sadness because of misunderstandings but I also understand why.  Second tears of happiness because of understanding.  Janet, I really don't know how you endure...you must be stretched to the max with Beth and unable to help her much physically, your own physical pain and even Darrel and his health.  And now a broken car besides!!  My heart and prayers go out to you and your entire family.  God Bless You All.

And as always prayers go out for my cyber family on CP!

I got a call from Ivalou this morning telling me that she was going with Kaye Don and Barb to the Emergency Room.  A couple of years ago Kaye Don had an enlarged prostate that closed off his plumbing.  Since then he has to force his plumbing to work.  While in Florida last week, he had to catherize himself and must have introduce some bacteria because now he has a bladder infection.  He went to the doctor yesterday but he was in terrible pain last night all night.  Ivalou called from the ER and said his temp was normal but with the antibiotic he had taken might have hidden a high temp.  So it is likely they will keep him overnight and give him medication through IV's.  So if you would, say a prayer for Kaye Don and for Barb also.  She's a worrier and this might make her sick too.

Carol

I am so thankful for what I read this day, catching up on several days.  Thankful for the care and comfort from CP friends for each other.  This is a wonderful place to share.

Nards:  It is so good to see you in here a bit more often.  How is everything going for you?

Janet:  Hitting the deer had to be extra stressful on your body. Take care.

Don gave me an hour with a masseauer or whatever they are called.  I think I will go right before our long plane flight in Sept.  My birthday yesterday and I have been paying for the laziness today but really enjoyed meeting with daughter for two hour breakfast.  Don & I then went out for a late coffee & shared a roll - then, I managed to get him to add dinner out & we only ate appetizers.  Nothing day but so nice.  We have the dining, living and two hallways painted down to the basement as well.  Home Depot is on my list - have problems with the paint but son was able to mix the five-gallon with the one gallon.  They were a bit different, it was that girl's fault, one who mixed the paints.  Then, window coverings were ordered three weeks ago & they just called & they are on backorder.  These people need an organizer.

This very minute, I just realized I should be at church for quilting - good grief.  Losing my mind.  It must be the heat.

Thinking of each and every one of you.  Carol

Carol

Larry:  Spotted the temp. guide on your post & it was 100 degrees.  Yikes, it has been that a few times this year, I think - way above normal.  Have heard of the book "Who Moved My Cheese" and I should take time to find it.  It is the old decision of Flight or Flight when chaos happens, isn't it?

Marilyn:  I did reply to you at the new SN site somewhere.  When you get to your name & photo -when that comes up, then click on "new replies to your posts" or something like that & it will bring you to the discussions where you have posted & any new posts.  I don't like losing the Subscribe button as that made it so nice & do hope they can put in something just like it.

Hi everyone...

Kathleen is getting ready to leave for college and is packing up her room here.  She will be leaving on Wed. a week from today.

Then I will have a friend come north from Washington, DC to visit me for the weekend.  I'm looking forward to that.

Nards, thanks for your posts.  It's always so good to see them.

Janet, praying for your situation.  What trials you've been through.

All of you are in my heart and prayers each day.

Day By Day
(Click to hear music)

Words by Lina Berg
Music by Oscar Ahnfelt

Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best
Lovingly, it's part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and with rest.

Ev'ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He whose name is Counselor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
"As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He hath made.

Help me then in ev'ry tribulation
So to trust thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy Holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a father's hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
'Til I reach the blessed, promised land.

Six of us met last night to participate in a Xocai Chocolate three-way call with another friend in Oregon and  one of our upline in Colorado Springs. The call  ended with an awesome spirit-filled half hour prayer meeting. WOW!! is all I can say about it.

Tomorrow I am going to meet some friends at Arcata First Baptist Healing Rooms to pray with them.

Many of you may remember that I was called to be an intercessor about 1 year after I got saved. Then again maybe you didn't know that. Prayer is what I do, I don't mind praying for someone no matter where I might be, in church, in the grocery store in the doctors office at the hospital etc.

I get the results of my blood work on Monday.

Back to the corner now.

Marilyn, I looked up Xocai on Google, and it is so extremely expensive, I was shocked that anyone could buy it.  Maybe you know a source where it is less?  And........am I forgiven, or not?  :-\

Prayer is always a good thing, and I know others are blessed by your intercession.  Thanks.

My oh my what a couple of pages to read.

Yes we do get streached to the limits with our children don't we?  We all need to have the Peace of God to permeate (sp) our very souls.  So easy to get worrying and agitated.  Oh Lord keep our hearts and minds.  Give each of us Peace in our individual situations that we all deal with.  Father teach us what we are to learn may we not be closed to your blessings.

Pat I can hear you singing that hymn back at Bethesda!  Remember me sitting in poison ivy back there?  Such memories gone up into high rise buildings.

The weather has been muggy and has felt like rain...  Forcast said rain... but no rain!  Oh well it will come soon enough.  Samantha that is hot.

Must go
Love and Prayers to all.

Jeannine

Good morning all,

Just sitting here in the corner with a cup of coffee  :coffee:, reading, praying, thinking and writing. So many things going on.

Michael went to an orthopedist yesterday for his curvature of the spine. It is causing the rib cage on the left to bow out on his back. The doctor said he is not a candidate for surgery, he would not survive it, he just is not strong enough. And braces are out of the question as well. So just keep him comfortable. Well, he is in God's hands as he always has been, I'm here to love and care for him and do as he needs.

WHAT TO DO

What do you do when life is not fair?
What do you do when you can not help but care?
What do you do when it is more than you can bear?
Take it to the Lord in prayer

You are told there is nothing they can do
You know deep down it is true
And the helplessness you felt before, is renewed
Take it to the Lord, He will see you through

You wonder how you will withstand
The helpless feelings and all the other demands
Of your time and life you have no command
Take it to the Lord, put it in His hands

I know it is easy to say let go and let God
But the problem is still there, you put up a façade
And wonder if others think you are a fraud
Take it to the Lord, He has been where you trod

So what do you do when it is answers you need?
Take it to the Lord, and give heed
To all the love and comfort He gives to the wearied
For He is our loving Father, He is with us and always will be

Jeannine Faith

Know I am praying for all. Have a God filled and blessed day! <3

Hi everyone.  We are headed for our 10th 100 degree or more day this month.  It has been unbelievable for Atlanta where we seldom get out of the lower 90s in the summer.  It seems so many places are facing so many weather related problems.  At least we are not flooded and with air conditioning we can remain cool as long as we don't have to be outside.

I am leaving shortly to pick up not only the fellow that normally rides with me but also the 85 year old friend who was in an auto accident about 3 days ago.  He lives about 4 miles down the road and when I called him last night he insisted it was too far for me to come and I assured him it wasn't.  He and I have been having coffee together daily for going on 12 years and we have missed him at our table these last few mornings.  Fortunately he ended up with just a broken thumb, a bump on his head and very sore.  We haven't heard any of the details of the wreck but sure we will this morning.

Janet, Jeannine, and all of the rest of our folks or relatives that are suffering in so many ways this seems to be a very rough time.  All I can say is that I am praying for you all.  We each must find the path to walk.  We are fortunate that we have a loving God who walks that path with us and gets us from one minute to the next.  I think it is very healthy that there has been an exchange of honest feelings here, while painful, we can own our feelings and not worry that someone else is going to judge us.  God doesn't prevent us from having feelings, anger, hurt and terrible pain, but he is there for us when we reach out.  I think Nards expressed the situation very well.

Not much on my schedule today.  Guess my main goal will be to stay cool.  I am still trying to fight off the effects of this cold especially the ache and pains in my joints and back.  I used a heatpad on my back yesterday afternoon and it provided relief.  The pain is just muscular and it is tolerable but just nagging.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, folks, It's supposed to go to 104 or higher today in Nashville. My old window air conditioner has been going out in mid afternoon and it's much later in the evening before it's willing to come back on.

My son's room has a one-room air conditioner and he can stay comfortable in there by closing the door. However, I nearly roasted last night.

Will make arrangements to go to my daughter's apartment this evening, since the heat in the house nearly made me sick.

I'm extremely cold natured, but was drenched with sweat, and had to take a cool shower to help me endure.

So, it may be a little while before I can get back to my computer - no personal use of the computers is allowed at work, but there are 16,000 employees. How CAN they allow extraneous use?

So, will see y'all when I can. I'll be continuing to pray with y'all about all the long-term difficulties several of us have with ill children and relatives.

God's blessing on all who post (or read) here.

Ruth Ann
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Janet of course you are forgiven Am I?. I am on the run right now out the door to Curves But I had to answer you. More later.

7AM  I am back.

The Xocai Chocolate is expensive if you look at the case price, and the Health benefits are worth the price. here is so much more to it han just being chocolate, it is the PURE chocolate (no additives) and the berries. Probably better that I don't talk about it here.  If you want to know more email me.

100°, 104°  When I lived in the desert soemtimes it was that much at night. 110°-120°  were the day time highs.  I think you may have a lot more humidity than there was in the desert that was dry heat. Humidity make it feel so mch hotter. I would take 2-3 showers per day.

Jeannine I am praying for Michael.

Jeannine ~ What a great poem.  We all have had our trials and errors, problems and set backs.  Everyone should read your poem.  It puts everything into perspective.  I thank you very much for it and would like your permission to send it out in my emails.

Well, with everyone's above 100° heat I hesitate to say that we are to have our hottest day of the year today in Indiana....98°F.  Even some school closings because of the heat.  I am certainly glad I mowed yards yesterday.  With Kaye Don in the hospital...they did keep him overnight...and Ivalou with them, I mowed all three of our yards.  It was hot but I stopped every so often and came inside to the cool and drank lots of water.  It was one of those times that I felt so good to be doing something for someone else that the heat didn't bother me.

Now Ivalou woke up with a bug so she isn't feeling good today.  And she thinks they may not let Kaye Don come home today...he didn't have a very good night.

So please say some prayers for my siblings....I don't know what I would do without my sister and brother......Don't want to think about that.  Don't want to go there......Change the subject.....Does everyone have their Christmas shopping done yet??

Good morning, folkses!

Wow, the heat sure is getting to everyone, huh.  We're not in bad shape here in my "office"; praise God for the $75 air conditioner that has made SO much difference for me.

Larry, I'm sure it's a real pain to have a "cold" when it's so "hot!!!

Etta, I'm praying for your brother.  Having dealt with catheters myself in a very painful experience, I have a very high level of sympathy for him.

Jeannine - God bless Michael.  I have suffered enough back and neck pains to sympathize greatly.  I can't imagine how that must be for him.

A word of encouragement - God loves you - all of you.  Even these hard times are not a mistake on His part, though we sure don't understand.  Let's be strong and help each other be strong.

My love to all of you.

:coffee:  Reading all the notes & sending a prayer to each of you.

Larry:  We have been into the 90's for it seems like two months & that is unusually high, and also hot at nighttime.  Today, finally a little break & maybe some rain.

Talked to my cousin in Minnesota & her missionary son & family were there for two months - he is expecting 6th. grandchild and also adopted two girls who are from Uzbeckistan - disabled.  They  were forced to leave Uzbeck. and now going to Krgestan (sp).  One girl has useless legs & Shriners doctors tell them she can walk if she has lower legs amputated, so she has to decide.  The finances are all paid - imagine taking on total of 8 children.  My cousin's husband works every summertime just to pay the groceries when they come to visit.

Chocolate - I always hide a stash!  I need to stop having it around.  Now, when we go to Europe, I will not be able to contain myself - that wonderful Belgian chocolate they sell over there.  Their cheese & rolls - good grief, I will need to walk & walk.  This water exercise is really good for me - my numbers are:  102/74 and my pulse is 55.  Walked this morning & I am going to try a running in water exercise class at 6 PM tonight because I go to quilt tomorrow.

RuthAnn:  Here is hoping that the weather will cool for you very soon.  It is changing a little here so it just has to cool down.  Take care, you need your rest.  When will you RETIRE?

Carol

Just coming out of the corner for a moment to let y'all know that I am here and praying for all y'all ...

Jeannine, your poem says it all  <3 ... God bless you and your family.  I know He does.

Larry and Nards you are so eloquent!  What wonderful words of comfort and encouragement.   :)

I "plan" to do some yard work today.  Lots of growth from recent rain.   :-\  And, I need to wash the windows again.  I think I have pinpointed some of my problem with coughing and congestion, etc ... It always seems worse after I've been outside, so must be some sort of allergy.  I know when I was in California and Bryan was doing so much heavy work in the yard I would really have some terrible coughing spells.   :-\  Also, I've noted it's worse after eating, if there's dairy in the meal.  :-\  Oh, well .... such a minor, insignificant "problem" in the face of what others are dealing with.

Well, I am not getting anything done sitting here, so I'll at least change position.     I'll be over in the corner if anyone needs wants me ......  :sulk:
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Liz

Greetings from a cool & simply comfortable and wonderful, island!  I am sorry so many of you are suffering from all that heat.  This person does not do well in anything past 79 degrees.

Jeannine, that is a beautiful poem.  Your little boy is very lucky to have a Mom like you. I will continue to pray for your family.

Found out something interesting today.  For many yrs. I have been taking Vasotec, plus another medication, for my H.B. pressure.  It took a lot of trial and errror to find one that didn't cause severe tummy problems.  A few weeks ago, the refill came in a different pkg. (similar, but different) and the pills were also a different shape.  Same mg., different look.  I thought they had decided to spiff up things a bit, until my tummy started to feel like someone had lite a bonfire inside.  So went on the internet, contacted the company, got a long winded no answer reply about any changes to formula, etc.  They gave a customer # to call.  Have waited for things to calm down inside...without luck.  Went for a walk and came back feeling even more Blah!  So phoned the number.  No change to the formula.  Now being made in the UK instead of the US.  Supposed to be made in Canada, according to the pkg.  Carol, your figures are great.  Mine after the walk were:  153/101 67.  That is even rather low on top compared to some!
So much for trusting anyone these days....will have to go and start all over again at the dr.'s.  The proof is in the pudding....or in this case, the tummy! :-\

The funeral for the young woman (annorexic) who died is on Sat.  So terribly sad.  She was a beautiful woman, gentle, caring and much loved.  An accountant with a good position, a real Christian who tried to help others...hard to understand.  But, as I said before, I know how difficult this disease is to beat.  Wendy and some of the other neighbors are taking over baking, etc. tonight.  I am going to go now and make some butter tarts to send along.  One of the few things I still do well.....Wendy and some of the others watched Lisa grow up, so they all feel badly and want to give their support.

On a lighter note, gave the cats their montly flea application last night.  Misty never minds and gives my hand a lick.  Squeek runs for the hills and it is a terrible struggle.  Who knows why???  Took off and I had to wait for Wendy to finish her phone call. Squeek sat glaring at me, I smiling at her, medication in hand.  At $11.00 per cat, I was not going to give up without a fight.  Wendy came into the room and said it looked like the last stand at the OK Corral.  She is still unhappy today, Squeek, that is.   ;)

Larry and Nards, you are a great comfort!

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz
