Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hi everyone,  Just back from coffee at the senior center.  This week they have installed a wi fi connection for the senior center, which will be much appreciated.  Yesterday Pat drove for the first time since her knee surgery.  She just now told me she will drive herself to her therapy session this morning.  I will be spending the day resting as am tired today and tomorrow I will need to go downtown to help Stacey with her move.  Fortunately I have nothing I need to do today.

Since I am laying down and resting this morning and using my iPad I will not make a reply unless asked something specific as it is very slow to compose a message with the screen keyboard. Having read all the postings it was difficult not to comment on each one but will try to do better tomorrow.

I got a call yesterday from 'Stanley' saying that the brakes were done but I needed a new condenser for the A/C.  Fortunately they found one in the vicinity and if it was delivered in time, my car would be ready for pick up.  If I didn't get a call by 5pm, I would get a call this morning to pick it up.

I was reading and got sleepy.  I put the book down and got the call that Hawaii was ready.  It was after 4:30 and they close at 5:30pm.  So I hurried, changed clothes, and drove the 15+ miles to Stanley.  Got there in 20 minutes driving time.

Pat, I noticed a few times that after my car sat for awhile, the brakes felt like they weren't going to stop me.  Once after leaving the car out for a free wash job from God, I thought I was going through the garage wall!!  So they had other complaints on Chevrolet Cruzes with the same problem and replaced the 'brake booster vacuum pipe assembly'....whatever that is.

And the A/C went out coming home from Michigan and they found the condenser was ruptured so they replaced it....ALL UNDER WARRANTY!!  YAY!

Today is a do nothing day.  I am doing some more laundry but that will be it.  Maybe I will finish my series of books today.  Then what will I do?

I like Ruth Ann's prayer, too.  Need to pray for that too.  Seems the more I do for someone, the less it is appreciated and I am attacked with words.  I know that someone wouldn't do that normally so it isn't the someone that is saying it...it is the disease that is talking.  It still hurts.

How often do we think oabout a holy God.  We talk about His love , mercy , grace, lovingkindness and many other attributes, but never talk about his holiness.  As we sing this song let us think about this.  He IS holy and just.  lets walk through our day remembering His holiness and how does that compare to what we do during the day.  Does that change any behaviour, or decisions?

Holy, Holy, Holy
(Click to hear music)

Words by Reginald Heber (1783-1826)
Music by John B. Dykes (1823-1876)

Holy, Holy, Holy!  Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning  Our song will rise to thee.
Holy, Holy, Holy!  Merciful and mighty.
God in three Persons,  Blessed Trinity.

Holy, Holy, Holy!  All the saints adore thee.
Casting down their golden crowns  Around the glassy sea.
Cherubim and seraphim   Falling down before thee.
Which wert and art,  And evermore shalt be.

Holy, Holy, Holy!  Though the darkness hide thee.
Through the eye of sinful man  Thy glory may not see.
Only thou art Holy.  There is none beside thee.
Perfect in power,  In love, and purity.

Holy, Holy, Holy!  Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name  In earth and sky and sea.
Holy, Holy, Holy! Merciful and mighty!
God in three persons.  Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Hallelujah! Hallelujah!  Blessed Trinity.

Well, now I've had the in-the-car training from a local driving school.  It's training which they claim will help me when I've got the dept. of Motor vehicles examiner with me.  So now I've just got to let the senior ombudsman know that I've done this, then, hopefully he'll set up another driving test for me.

Betty

Wow - I haven't been on here for a few days as we've been doing some travelling. It took awhile to catch up with all of the news.

Pat: I've been praying for you and your physio rehab. I've gone through some physio myself, and know that it can be painful, and a lot of work. We have so much to be thankful for when our bodies are working.

Marilyn: I've been praying for you too - vertigo is not any fun at all. I hope things settle very soon for you.

Bonnie: I think it was last week when I mentioned about going to the Celebration of Life for my SIL. You're right, it can be very nice and uplifting when we know that the person has gone home to be with our Lord. However, this one was more difficult as we don't believe she made that choice. We are praying that her husband will make a decision for Christ.

Our neighbour had his outboard motor and gas tank stolen this past week while they were in their house, and while we were there too. The police are concerned that the thieves were that bold. We have reminded ourselves that God is in control and that these are only material possessions.

Continuing to read the comments and pray for people.
Betty

Enjoying God's handiwork!

I went to the Therapist this morning, he tested me again and the vertigo is now a thing of the past. He re-positioned the Ear crystals so they wouldn't be floating around making me dizzy, he did that  my  moving my head in certain ways. Hallelujah Praise the Lord.

Hi everyone.  Today is Stacey's moving day and I know she is very excited to have it finally here.  It will be mid-afternoon before the movers arrive.  I will go down after noon to be with her and to take care of moving her computer and anything else breakable.  I had pretty much of a wasted day yesterday and didn't feel up to par and spent almost all day laying down.  Sure hope I am not so tired today.  Pat drove herself to rehab yesterday and got along fine.

Etta Sue, glad to see you got your car back.  Best thing is that all the work was under warranty, as it should have been.

Judy, Holy, Holy, Holy has always been one of my favorite hymns.  It has been awhile since we have sung it at church.

Al, glad you have the training for driving finished.  Did you learn anything you didn't already know?

Betty, glad to see you back home.  Sorry to read about the thief of the boat and motor.  Several years ago my neighbor had his lawnmower stolen from his front yard in the middle of the day.

Marilyn, that is indeed good news on the vertigo.  It is kind of a shock when we learn we have "ear rocks".  :)

How Great Thou Art
(Click to hear music)

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Chorus:
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Chorus

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Chorus

Marilyn, I am happy for you that your vertigo problem is finally solved!

Al, I'm sure you'll be glad when you finally pass the drivers test.  :D

Larry, I can imagine how excited Stacey must be about moving into the new apartment.  But, Larry, yesterday wasn't "wasted".  You did what you needed to do, and that was REST.  Just because nothing physical is involved doesn't mean the time is wasted.  :)

I finished my series of six books last evening.  My, it took a long time but then each book had between 600 and 900 pages!!  What to read now?  I am to get a new to me book in the mail...maybe it will come today!

This evening is Clarksville Christian Church's First Annual Fish Fry.  I am to be there by 3pm and work the front table taking the money until 6pm and then someone else takes over.  I want to eat my fish and then come home.

Since it is suppose to rain tomorrow evening, I think I need to mow the grass this evening... :-\

And tomorrow morning I am running the projector system AND a greeter at one of the doors!  Busy!

I need to go to Lapel and fill the car up, get some milk and a few other things.

Marilyn ~ Wish you had gone to this therapist sooner.  He/she did a great job in a few sessions!  Thank God, the vertigo is gone!

Larry ~ Hopefully Stacey will be settled in this evening and has a good night's rest!

Al ~ Glad you passed the driving training and now onto the driving test.  I am praying that the driving instructor softens his heart and passes you to drive!

Praise the Lord, for He is Holy.  The word is related to hallow - we hallow His Name because He IS holy.  The word just means, basically, "separate," and our God is holy because He is entirely separate from His created world and all things in it.  He is far above it all, unaffected by all the happenings of it.  When we come to Him. we cpme tp One Who is high and lifted up.  He is aware of all, and He knows all, but He is not changed by anything here.  So we should say to Him, "O high and holy God oiur Father" = blessed be You high and holy Name.  Amen and amen.

Janet

Loving greeting to each of you!

I won't address each one today, as have company and am busy.  Daughter Kerri and two dogs arrived yesterday and we picked John up at the GC airport and we arrived back home last night at midnight.

So today I am doing things in preparation for Beth's birthday party this        evening.  Just wanted to pop in and see if there was anything new I needed to know!

See you all later!

Ruth Ann Bice

Well, something new from my area. Our Goodlettsville Little Leaguers won the Little League World Series for America. How great to see our little champions win! One of the young men made a Little League World Series record. He batted 3 home runs, and 3 runs came in with each H.R. So, he will be in the annals of history from now on. :)

Such a clean sport with players, coaches, and parents all showing great sportsmanship. We need more of this...

Now, it's time to get my trash disposed of before the 10:30 pm deadline!

Then, to prepare my body and soul for tomorrow's worship.

Much love to everyone,
Ruth Ann
