Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Joyce, you are welcome.  I love the Footprints animation also.  Hope you get it saved...if not, ask again and I could email it to you.  My email is in my profile.  I forget what type of work you do...fill me in.

Janet, I hope you had a leisure day.  I love my leisure days.  Everyone seems to say I am always busy but I do have my hours of 'feet up with the remote in my hand' times.  How is Darrel today?  I never heard of anyone allergic to Cipro but I don't know why one couldn't be.

Jeanne Lee, thanks for the music.  Sure lifts one up!

Sarah, I know you are so tired of being so tired.  That sweet little girl will be here soon.  I am thinking of you today...maybe she will be a New Year baby!  I am praying for a healthy New Year baby...even if she is a few days late!  Hang in there, sister!

Jane, I was thinking this morning that I should change my posts and leave out an animation.  Then you thank me for them.  I guess CPer's aren't bored with them yet!  I do like them and change them around a bit.  I know that but doubt if anyone else knows they are in a different order or even new!

Carol, I know you and hubby are used to driving in lots of snow and on ice but when that happens in Indiana...I stay home!!  So nice to look out and see it but not be in it!  My mind is picturing the beauty around your cabin this time of year...well, all the time really!

Marilyn, your graphics and animations are God's eye candy.  They are beautiful.  Do you take lessons online?  I may have to email you to find out more information on online tutorials if that is what you do.  I am leery of it since I feel that is why I had to have a SNRI...Selective Nerve Root Injection.  I was sitting so long at the computer that my neck caused my right arm to have constant pain...that was 6 years ago!  Now I know to get up and rest awhile from the pc.  Beside a laptop and recliner are great combinations!

Al, Happy New Year to you and Marbeth!  May 2010 be better than 2009.

Larry, I was watching Time Square, then the local news came on and I decided that I, too, could have the New Year come in while in a horizontal position.  So I went to bed, read awhile and shut off the light and went to la-la-land!!

Tony came and we went to four mattress stores.  I purchased one at the first store we went to.  All I can remember is it is a Simmons.  The salesman there listened to me and he was fun.  The next place showed me the highest priced ones first!!  The third told me that the first one I sat on was the firmest in the store so I told him, I am wasting your time, and left.  The fourth was the Sleep Number bed.  I decided that since I sleep alone...with two cats...that I didn't need the Sleep Number if I had a firm mattress to start out with.  So back to the first place.  Wow!  Ended up $300 instant rebate, no sales tax, free delivery, and they remove my old set.  I also purchased a set of sheets and a mattress protector and no sales tax on them either.  HE has to pay sales tax but they jack the price so that he can pay the sales tax.  But I don't get delivery until Jan 9.  That's okay...I haven't had a mattress and box spring delivered for 40 years...I can wait!!

Tony and I went to Chili's and then home.  He replace my flood light, got a new bulb at the back door, put the down pout back on the vertical part and my dryer vent is A-okay!  I copied him two Susan Boyle CD's for his truck and home.  He's a great son!

I removed my bed skirt and the bed linens today.  They are in the dryer.  I would really like to pull the bed out and sweep down under but I don't know if that will be now or not.  I think Ivalou is coming home today so I keep looking to see if I see a car over there or not.

And in Indiana, it is cabbage to bring wealth on New Year's Day.  No cabbage in my house.  I have much more faith in prayer than cabbage!!

Etta Sue, add me to the list of those who thoroughly enjoy your animations!   Please don't stop!!!

I started my New Year's anticipation horizontal at around 10:30 last night and became aware that the new year was under way - at 3:30 a.m.

Janet

Welcome to 2010, a new year in a new decade in a still pretty new century!  I had every intention of attending a New Year's party to which we were invited, but Darrel didn't feel up to going, then I couldn't find what I wanted to wear for my costume.  I searched until the time was too close to change and drive 30 minutes, then I gave up.  I was unhappy and disgruntled the rest of the night.  >:(  Not good.  So this morning, I had a talk with myself and God, put on a new attitude and welcomed the new year, with whatever joys and trials it may bring.  God is still in control.

Sarah, good to hear from you!  I know how tired you are at this stage of pregnancy, it feels as if you have been "fat" forever.  But hang tight, it's almost over.  And once you hold that precious little girl in your arms, all of this will fade away so quickly you will barely be able to recall it.  All of us here on CP are rooting fot you to have an easy delivery--and of course we can hardly wait to see pictures of your little one.

Etta Sue, I always look forward to your animations, please keep them coming.  I do notice when there is a new one, too.  Please forgive me for not thanking you or mentioning your efforts more often.  Glad you found a mattress that will suit your needs.  You should soon be enjoying really restful sleep.  And them hauling off the old set is a really nice service, especially for those who don't own a pickup or truck.  And here (maybe everywhere) they charge you for taking them at the dump.

Larry, I have welcomed far more new years in my lifetime from the horizontal position than the vertical--and it never stopped them from coming!   :D  I was going to stay up till midnight, but got tired of the junk on TV, couldn't find anything I liked (could have been because of my mood!  :-[) and went to bed at 11:30.  I was awake most of the night, though.

I took down the little trees this morning.  Now the house is back to drab, uh, I mean normal, again.  (How do you use the strikethrough thing?  I wanted to do that to the word drab, couldn't.)

I am still in my pajamas, guess it is time to dress and act like I might do something, even if I don't do it!

Janet, it's too bad you didn't get to the party you were looking forward to, but God had a reason for preventing it.  Maybe you would have been in the path of a drunk driver or something equally tragic, or exposed to something contagious, or...  or.....  Praise God for His care of you.   :)

I am posting for JudyB.
Internet is down, yet again; so Ruth is graciously posting for me.
Carol, I would love a copy of those recipes.
Sarah, Our mother had a phrase that applies in situations such as yours. "The apples drop when they're ripe". Just be patient, if you can.
Thank you, folks, for praying for John. It has been a hair-raising trip battling snowstorms. Heard from him this morning and he's on his way home.
We've had more snow up here and more to come. Heather is on here way home today, so keep her in prayer.
The girls and I stayed up last night. Had a nice quiet evening together.
I'm going to go to a new internet server; this has got ridiculous.

This is the day that the Lord hath made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Jeanne Lee

Ruth, thanks very much for posting Judy's message.

Posting for JudyB
John called. He is an hour from the Sault border. As he was passing Marquette Michigan, he saw five foot waves on Superior and the snow coming across the lake. He decided to outrun the snow and as he topped a hill he saw the snow in his mirrors hit the highway. He stayed ahead of it on dry roads. He will be home tomorrow afternoon and we pray that the roads stay clear.
He has outrun tornadoes frequently before and I have never heard of him outrunning a snowstorm.

Jeanne Lee

That must have been some driving John did!  I can't imagine trying that in a car, let alone a big rig!   :D

Amazing!  We serve an Awesome God, indeed
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Pat

Hello everyone...

Etta Sue, I hope you really enjoy your new mattress and sheets.  I enjoy the jersey sheets you can buy at WalMart as in the winter they are nice and cozy and in the summer, they aren't hot and they stretch nicely over the huge deep mattresses.

Jeanne Lee

Good morning, folks!  Later today I'll be getting my regular winter exercise - cleaning the snow off my car.  Again!  Never again will I have a car with a roof rack.   :(

Janet

Jeanne, your post caused me to praise God (again!) for a garage in which to park my car!  I hope to never take such blessings for granted.  And I can see how a roof rack would complicate getting the snow off your car.  I'm sorry. :-\

Our world outside the door today is encrusted with ice, and the sky is grey and leaden.  I don't know if snow is predicted or not, but if so, I hope we get a big enough one to do some good moisture-wise.  It's really dry here.

After a few really lazy days, I am ready to do something today!

Janet, I just have to keep reminding myself that this is how God sees to it that I do get some exercise!   :)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is cold here this morning, only 23 degrees and not suppose to get above the 30's today.  I think we are in for some really cold weather.  It was cold at McDonald's.

Yesterday afternoon we invited two couples, with whom we play dominos over for dinner.  Pat fixed ribs that we baked in the oven for about 5 hours.  She had made cold slaw and a 5 cup salad and baked a pie.  One of the ladies brought baked beans.  We played Mexican Train after they got here and then had a very delicious dinner and then sat at the table and visited for well over an hour more.  Pat and I were both exhausted when they left and retired for the night soon after.

Etta Sue, hope you enjoy that new mattress.  Since I have difficulty getting warm I sleep between two pieces of fleece, a sheet, the electric blanket, a quilt and the bedspread and still have trouble getting my lower legs and feet warm sometimes.  Except for the summer months I have the same amount of covers but don't use the electric blanket.  I also like your little graphics in your postings.  I enjoy all the graphics that are posted here.

Must stop for now as it is time for us to leave for a meeting.

Judy, hope John beats the snow.  I never heard of outrunning a snow storm either.  Ruth, thanks for sharing Judy's messages.

Janet, I just now tried to use the strikeout command in the editing tools and it works.  Just highlight the word you want to strikeout (must be in the preview mode where the commands are available) then click on the strikeout symbol.  Glad to see you are seeming to feel better today.  It sounds like you just needed a couple of days to recharge your batteries.

Etta Sue

Oh, my!  Larry!  I broke out in a sweat when I read what all you sleep between/under!  I am thinking you need the big M!!!  I think I would be comfortable with a handkerchief over my ear while sleeping on my side!!  Not really, but just give me sheets and a very light-weight coverlet or spread!

Pat ~ I have one set of sheets that are T-shirt material...they are deep-pocket fitted sheets so I imagine I will be using them.  I bought the one set of sheets because I have never had a really good set of sheets and I thought...I am worth it!!  ha!  (My mom used to say that all the time when she would be extravagant!)

I am looking forward to my new mattress.  I may become Sleeping Beauty!

Ivalou is home.  She thinks her new medicine to prevent gout is causing her problems.  I take her Monday for blood work and she is going to talk to the nurse and hopefully get an appointment with the doctor to talk with her.  She is groggy, no energy, no appetite.  About the same as before her stroke!

I am slow getting here today since I spent almost all morning talking with Ivalou and her daughter, Jo.  Good to have her back home!

And thank you all for your comments on my animations.  Gives me encouragement to find some new ones.....tomorrow!!  Ha!

Sarah ~ Are you Mommy yet?

Etta Sue I have been doing classes for over a year now in PSP, and  have been making stationery for at least 2½ years maybe more. I can send you the links for the Stepping Stones through PSP  beginners class where you can start, I can also send you an email with the links to all of Winni's classes. Most of my stuff is from tutorials but I am not allowed to pass on those links. I do make   a lot of stuff on my own or tweak the tutorials to suit myself. Let me know and I will send you the links.

John got home toay at about suppertime. About 20 minutes after leaving the truck stop where he was parked overnight the snow started and lasted well into Ontario.   He brought home about 2000 pounds of snow with him....like we need more.  It is all packed in and under the trailer amd tractor.  He has pictures of the truck/trailer, I will try to post some when I get my internet back up and running.

I has Heather's husband over today and he checked out my internert problem and says it is with the company not me.  I am so frustrated with this that I have decided to change servers.

Have a good night everyone, God Bless

Carol

We are home because it was snowing hard this morning & we wanted to get over Berthoud Pass.  So did about a thousand other vehicles.  Snow situation near Grand Lake is really poor & they need a few big storms.  Not while I am there though  ;)

Here, there is a problem either with the thermostat or the furnace.  The house was only 47* at 2 PM & we do have a lot of solar heat with so many south windows so that shouldn't happen.  The furnace did start again.

Janet:  I hope you are feeling better.  As for missing the party, I can relate to you now that Don is having such a hearing problem we don't go to anything musical anymore - I miss it and have felt quite badly about it sometimes but then it occurs to me that really we are so blessed with such good health and so many other things - loving family - terrific church - happy & fun neighbors & a place to come like"HERE".

Larry:  Neighbors want us to learn Mexican Train.  I guess we need to try to learn it - would rather read a book or just talk.

Rruth V: Nice to see your smiling face.  Thanks for the message from JudyB.  I guess she wants those recipes and I make up soup as I go along so that is difficult and I made the corn bread with a box of corn mix, 3 eggs, a can of cream corn soup, and one can of drained corn.  Throw in a little spice like a hot chili spice, just a little, it won't kill you.   :D  Bake about 25 minutes or until browning on the top.  The Wild Rice Soup was a package mix that I threw in chicken and used chicken broth instead of water to make it richer.  Some people would use heavy cream but that is too rich for me.

JudyB:  Read above recipe.  I will try to find a ramen salad recipe.  That was some terrific driving for John.  He must have had the angels racing to keep up!

Etta Sue:  Best of luck with Iva Lou's appointment tomorrow.  This seems to be a good time to deep clean the house like you are apparently doing right now.

AL:  Thanks for your NY greeting!  I was awake until 10 PM or so and did not finish watching "Rear Window" with Jimmy Stewart.  I know the ending.

Etta Sue

Brrrr!  It is only 5°!!  No wind though so that is a plus.  I just got a call from Ivalou saying it was too cold for her to get out.  She may not get to church until April!

I even got cold in the night.  Maybe I should have bundled up like Larry!

And Marilyn!  Yes, do send me the links on PSP beginners class.  I have Corel PSP Photo X2.  I think I might have time to do some in this cold weather.  Are they the type of lessons that you have to send them in in a week or so?  I don't mind that.  I guess that makes you do them instead of not.  Makes you have a goal.

Okay, I am ready for church but I think I am even going to let the car warm for ME!

:)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)  :)

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is really cold here this morning.  We will be getting out in it in a little over an hour to go to church and then out to lunch.  Then I will watch some football this afternoon.  I have already done some Internet work this morning and worked all of yesterday evening updating the rules pages on the Golden Games website that I maintain.

Etta Sue, what is the Big M?  I didn't understand what you met.

Carol, Mexican Train is very easy to learn as it basically is matching the ends of the dominos on the table.  It sounds like you were wise to not try the mountain pass.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Jeanne Lee

Good morning everyone.  Another cold one here, too.  My furnace is running almost constantly and I have to keep wetting towels to put on the rack over one of the vents in order to keep the humidity at something like reasonable.  I don't have a way to measure it, but if I get a shock when I touch a doorknob that's a pretty good sign.  I try to keep enough to put some moisture on the windows - and of course if it's too dry it doesn't feel as warm.

Sermon today was by author Lee Strobel and he was so interesting.  He just moved here & I believe he has joined the church but I am not positive.  Just google his name.

Hi Etta Sue!  You may really like the PSP lessons, I did not return to them after this move because there is just not enough time, at least it takes me much longer.

We are putting away all of the decorations & now to get candle wax out of a table runner.  Uff da
