You know you make all your non-transparent gifs transparent for free, Etta Sue?  Go to Gif Works.  gifworks.com

Click on "How Do I Get Started" and you put your gif right in there and click on the area you want transparent and it will do the rest for FREE!!!  Then just save it over your other one on your computer and voila!!!  you have a transparent gif.

Thanks for reminding me about that, Pat.  I have done that but forgot about it.  Problem is, I can't tell what is or isn't transparent until I post it with a non-white back ground!!   :'(

Pat

It shows on GifWorks Etta Sue.

Try it again.

Hello everyone. Ruthie welcome back long time no see.

I am going to check out gif works too. thanks Pat!! I will also pass it on to my stationery group.

I have been so preoccupied with Micheal coming here to visit when he gets back from Africa in just a few more weeks. I have so much I want to get done and don't seem to be doing anything but hanging around my computer, reading emails, and making stationery. I am going to mow now that I have braces for both hands. The vibrations of the lawn mower makes my wrists hurt.

I think I will go walk the dogs now before it gets dark.

Hello all!  Certainly, anyone who wants to, or has copied, the letter is free to.  She is a penny poorer, today, btw, but I won't give anymore details than that!!!!

I hope all have had a good day. Take care, and I'll try to be back longer tomorrow.

Ruth Ann Bice

Good morning, friends,

I believe the worst of the respiratory ailments is behind me. This morning I awakened at 4:30 and have been on the go ever since.

Now, it's time to get ready to head on out to work.

Janet, I, too, am so sorry to hear of your family's tragedy. Our church is experiencing something like this. We've been praying for "Baby Jax" for several weeks. He was born needing a heart transplant - almost didn't make it through the 3 weeks until he could have the surgery. He has now taken a really bad turn for the worst and is only given 2-3 weeks unless a new heart can be found for him. This is the couple's first child, and all of us are devastated for them.

It's so good to be back. I've missed everyone, but just didn't feel well enough to even work through a whole day, much less get on the computer after I get home.

Ruth Ann

Good Morning everyone.

Just read up on all the posts.

A BIG WELCOME TO LOIS!!!

Well got to go.

Al Moak

Well, it aint rainin'.  That's something relatively new around here.  Actually, I do truly thank our Father for rain - He cares for His earth and for us and is good and loving.

Marilyn

It is supposed to rain later tonight Al so don't  rush it .

How is everyone today. Not much new hre since I posted last night. I have put on a pot of white beans or supper. That is about all the news I have.

Ruth Ann, wouldn't it be wonderful if our baby's heart could be used for the baby you spoke of?  They DO want to donate his organs---I haven't any further word if that has been done yet.  Last I heard, they were keeping him on life support until the usable organs could be harvested.  Such an ordeal for the parents and siblings!  How do people get through such things without knowing the Lord?

I had a good day at work yesterday, working with my sister.  We will work together again today, then tomorrow I am to be there at 6 AM  :P  to train for the breakfast/dinner shift.  They still call the evening meal supper.  ;)

I have been trying to post a photo in the coffee challenge, succeeding only in frustrating myself.  Why did they arbitrarily change the PSP program?  Now I don't have any luck using it.   :ticked:

Anyway, I wish you all a wonderful day.  Ruthie, good to see you pop in!  And Lois, good to see you found this place.  Wish I could hear you play and sing!

I just received this and it brought tears to my eyes.  See what YOU think.

$25.00

Can I borrow $25.00 -  Please read Wow! What a powerful message!  I wish all Dads  AND Moms could read this.

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-yearold son waiting for him at the door.
SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.
SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.
SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour'
SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.
'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'The father was furious, '
DAD: If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard every day for such childish frivolities.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? Afterabout an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:  Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
DAD:  'Are you asleep, son?' Heasked.
SON: 'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.
DAD: 'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier'
'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you... Here's the $25 you asked for.'The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' He yelled.

Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father. 'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.

Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. 'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.

'The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love...If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

Can I Borrow $25?

I know Gord is going away and will not read any posts after the 27th, but he can read this after he gets back.

Gord, I am praying for you and Noreen while you are away in Florida.  Praying that this clinic will be the answer to Noreen's problems.   I have a friend who is in Florida now.   She has fibromyalgia and has just heard about a clinic that specializes in that disease.   We have been praying for ages and now there seems to be a breakthrough.     Two pieces of exciting news.

God bless

Love Ruthie ;)

Good Morning everyone!

I'm off for my Mexican Riviera Cruise in the morning.  I will return on the 13th.  I don't know if I'll have access to a computer while I'm gone, but we'll see.  Please pray for safe travels for me, if you would.  I really don't like flying or being out at sea, but I didn't want to miss this opportunity and experience, especially with my sight so uncertain.  I'll post again when I get back.

You all take care and I will keep you in my daily prayers while I'm away.

Etta Sue

Good afternoon.

Last evening was great.  We saw The West Side Story at Beef and Boards.  And for some reason, the buffet was exceptionally great, too.  Great show.  Lots of dancing, singing, acting and characters!

I may go with Kitty this afternoon.  She and her hubby just got home from Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  I have missed her.

I am making a Green Tomato Pie.  It is in the oven now.  Hasn't been in there long enough to smell it but I am sure that will be soon.

Karma ~ I forgot to tell you that the nurse at the Throat doctor had your name only spelled Carma!  And I think she was around my age.

Where is everyone....7 hours after I posted and no one else posted???????

Nita

I'm here, Etta Sue.  I just came in to say hello.  I'm babysitting for baby, Maycie, while her mom helps her aunt move.  Right now she's sleeping.  That might not last long. :)

Rain here this afternoon.  Drats...I guess I can't mow till next time. lol

Janet

Kathleen, have a wonderful trip!  I hope you get to see, do and learn a lot!

I am just home from work.  And my "dogs" are barking.  The work isn't hard, it's a really pleasant place to work, but being on my feet that many hours is what bothers me.  And I am wearing good shoes, too.  In the morning, I have to be at work at 6 AM!!

I'm going to check the other areas.  Good night, all!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone. We had a little rain last night.  We had gone out to dinner at the Texas Roadhouse with two other couples and then went to one of the homes and played Mexican Train for a little while.  The meal was outstanding and they had a 2 for price of $14.99 and you could get a 6 oz. sirloin steak, a thick porkchop and several other items for that price and this included two sides such as salads or potatoes.  It was really good.

It looks like we will have a quiet weekend as Pat is trying to recover from our trip and is not feeling very good.

Janet, I hope you got your "dogs" calmed down after your day at work yesterday.  We are just not used to being on our feet for such long periods of time.  The little story you posted contains such truth and unfortunately I fear that many of us don't realize the truth of this until it is too late.  As I look back I wish I had enjoyed my children more and spent more time with them as they were growing up.  I don't think I neglected them but sure I could have done a better job.

Colin, hope your list doesn't get too long.  :)

Nita, the older I get I more I enjoy seeing babies and small children as they can be so cute (as long as they are crying).

Etta Sue, I think the site may have been offline for awhile last night as I tried to access it a little before 10 pm and couldn't.  You are fortunate to have a dinner theater to attend.  It has been years since we attended one and always enjoyed it.  There are several theaters around here but not aware of any dinner theaters.

Ruthie, good to see you posting again.  It has been awhile.

Kathleen, hope you enjoy your cruise.  It sounds delightful.

Al and Marilyn, hope you have a few dry spells.  We have the opposite problem here as we are still in a drought condition.

Hi Judy.  You are one busy lady.

Ruth Ann, sure glad to read that you are feeling better.

Karmat, it sounds like the concerns are over with Kristi, at least for now.  :)

Lois, welcome to CP and I hope you will be joining us here on a regular basis.  This is a very welcoming group and always happy to have new folks join us and in a few days you will feel right at home.  We are like an extended family.

Pat, the site is looking good.

Colin

Larry you have made me really hungry talking about steaks and things and me sitting at the heel of a loaf! :'( I hope you are keeping well and please do rest plenty. I have trained myself well to do such a thing! Jeannine and I were counting up the websites we have...other sites we are involved in and I think we got 14 in total so yes Larry the list is getting long. I was pleased christianpoetry used one of my poems for their Newsletter this month. That was a nice surprise for me this morning.

Hello everyone else.

Etta Sue

Good afternoon.   Late getting here today but I got my car maintenance done today and I picked up my prepared taxes.  Two of my least favorite things to do.

I also went to Hardee's for lunch.  I didn't know that they have Mexican food there but I think it is kind of costly.  I got one beef burrito, Spanish rice, refried beans, chips and a drink and it was $5.98 at a fast food place!!  It tasted okay but it didn't have the WOW factor.

Now I am home for the rest of the day.  Hope to work on some pictures to show Tuesday evening at Photo Guild and then catch up some more on my TV programs.

1/6th of 2008 is behind us!!!

I came home from work yesterday and did not have any DSL connection, I am fed up with Earthlink but can't do anything about it until September. Anyway this morning I unplugged all the wires on the modem and plugged them back in, this was after I laid hands on the modem and ask God to fix it. Now I have Internet again. Praise the Lord.

Larry not dry here, It just go through sleeting a little bit.

Later got to catch up elsewhere

RUTHIE!!!  It's great to see you.  I hope you're having a great day.  I have to go out and dig snow!

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Janet

Pat, while you are digging snow, we have a temp of 84 degrees!!  :o  Hard to believe, for the first of March.  Much too nice weather to be inside, but that's where I've been all day.  Home now from work and ready to fall asleep on my keyboard.  I'm sure not used to getting up to go to work at 5 AM after a sleepless night; and am feeling it.

Darrel and I are going to see the movie The Bucket List tonight.  We seldom go to movies, but that sounds like a fun one, and it's showing right here in town.  (In our one theater with one screen!  ;))

I'm going to try to take a little nap now.  See you later.  I posted something in the coffee challenge, only one comment so far.  :-\   Guess that's the way it goes sometimes.

QuoteNita, the older I get I more I enjoy seeing babies and small children as they can be so cute (as long as they are crying).

Larry, hmmmmm........you and I disagree. lol  Babies are really cute but when they're crying they make a lot of noise while they're being cute. :)

Perhaps you meant as long as they are NOT crying.  I say that because Maycie cried most of the night.  This G gramma woke up really tired.  I think she had a tummy ache, and mom wanted her gramma up with her.  I can understand.  I always hated having my kids crying in the middle of the night.  I felt so alone.

Sunshine here again today.  We had rain last night but it's beautiful right now.  Nothing like Janet's weather, but nice.
