Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Hi everyone.  We are suppose to get to 70 degrees this afternoon so should be a beautiful day.  Pat has not been feeling well with her fibromyalgia since we got home (think it was too many hours riding in the car) so isn't attending church this morning.  We just spoke with our daughter on the phone as she also is down with a bad cold and has a stopped up head and said she wasn't planning on trying to get out to church today.  I will be going however.

Nita, I am not fond of being around babies when they are crying and especially in restruarants where the parents just let the child go on and on and won't take them out.  All little ones are going to cry so initially it doesn't concern me but disturbing everyone else in the place is simply rude if the child is out of control.  Sorry you didn't get much sleep.

Marilyn, I believe the Shout Box is something that is still be worked on in getting the site reestablished with the updated software.  I remember seeing a comment from Pat that it was in the works.  I have heard a lot of complaints concerning Earthlink DSL.  I have been very happy with my DSL through my telephone company as once they got a highpowered modem router installed I haven't had any problems except when I switched to a higher speed and someone acted before they were ready to complete the installation.  It has been very reliable.

Janet, hope you enjoyed the movie.  Was that the Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman movie?  You all sure have us beat on warm weather at the moment.

Etta Sue, I didn't know Hardee's was featuring Mexican food.  I haven't eaten at a Hardee's for several years.  I did my taxes using TaxAct and filed them electronically a couple of nights ago.  I have had notice back that the refund I have coming from the Federal government should be in my bank in two weeks.  Haven't had a date from the State yet but they also accepted my electronic filing and last year they refunded the same day as the Federal.

Colin, how in the world can you keep up with 14 websites?  That sounds like a full-time job.

I have read about half of the new John Grisham book and it is good, in my opinion.  It is called "The Appeal".

A special hi to those who have posted that I haven't commented to.  Just didn't have anything in particular to post about but appreciate your postings.  Hope everyone has a great day.

Marilyn - yes, the shoutbox is indeed in the works.  Oldiesman has told us that it should be completed this week sometime.

Larry, sorry to hear about Pat's Fibromyalgia - that's painful stuff.  I pray our Father will relieve her of it very quickly.  Well, it isn't raining this AM, and the sun is just now peeking over the hill, so it should be a beautiful day.  Gotta go get ready for Church.

Marilyn

I am ready for church, this evening I am going with Willa to her daughter's church for supper and communion. The have a potluck every first Sunday with a service and communion. The sun maybe be shining here but it sure is cold. I haven't even been outside to pick up the paper.

Yesterday the grands had a swim meet and Forest (age 8 ) did a 500 meter freestyle in under 9 minutes. I am so proud of them. There was an article in yesterday's paper about their swim team. Both have moved to the next level. Savannah is getting so tall, she is almost 12 and is already 5'4"

A MOTHER'S HEART

Who can know a mother's heart?
Of secret thoughts hidden there
Of worry, love and of pride
For the children in her care

Of a heart that sang at birth
When born to her a girl or boy
Watched in wonder as they grew
Through days of trouble and of joy

Who can know of the pain?
As its aching brought her to tears
When times of worry wrecked it so
And she sobbed alone in silent fears

Who can know of the width?
And boundless depth of her love
But only He who made it so
And knows it's beating from above

For His heart is tender too
Loves His children every one
Unconditional love He displayed
Through the sacrifice of His Son

A mother's heart beats like His
Gives her all for ones she bore
Unselfish sacrifice, love abundant
A mother's heart gives that and more

A mother's heart won't always beat
Tell her now while you may
From your heart let her know
I love you Mum this Mother's Day

I got a phone call this morning at 9 am from my friend who is a producer for a Gospel radio show saying she had not got a poem for Mother's Day which is today for us. I had less than two hours to get this one written and down to her and it might need polished a little but |I hope you all enjoy it anyway. God bless

The sun is shining brightly this Sunday here on the south coast of Oregon!  I have to agree with Marilyn, though, it was quite cold this morning ... thick frost all over!

I am just stopping by to say "hi" to all y'all and let you know I'm still around.

I also have to tell Colin that I really love his poem!  Really beautiful.

I guess I should get myself something to eat.  My cook and housekeeper have somehow disappeared.   :-\

I'll see y'all later ....
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Home from church.  Haven't been the last two Sundays since I was away from home.  Both sermons were touching, inspiring and thought-provoking.  Danny, the Teen minister, wasn't there today.  He is in Portland, Oregon, giving a talk to some teens at a big teen assembly!!  He went to Texas in December!  So today the post-teen sermon was given by Dean, the Worship Leader.  He's originally from Virginia and still has that southern accent!

Marilyn ~ I believe you know my feelings about Earthlink.  I still haven't had problems since I got everything of Earthlink off of my computer...their anti-virus, firewall, email...everything.  And I have been find since.

I went to Taco Bell for lunch and to the Dollar General for O.J.  I am extremely tired.  Didn't go to sleep until way after midnight and was awake early...I don't know what time since I don't look at the time when the alarm is set.  I think I wore myself out by tossing and turning!

It has been several days since I was here.
Pat:  Pampered Chef memories of the past I have saved the pictures. Colin:  A good poem
Janet:  I wish that I could take on that type of work but my back does not seem to hold out.

Today is beautiful and sunny just an uplift to the days without much sun.

Last afternoon we went to Orangeville and then we went to Angel's for dinner. Even the Srs menu serves large portions Pat if you remember Tom Lockhurst he was with us as well.

Ruth, the work itself isn't hard, and it's a really pleasant atmosphere to work in.  Only problem I'm having so far is that my feet hurt after standing on a concrete floor so many hours.  I'm not used to that.

We enjoyed The Bucket List.  Yes, Larry, that's the one with Jack Nicholson that you mentioned.  I had heard that these two guys made up a list of things they wanted to do before they "kicked the bucket" but didn't know they both had only months left to live!  So, yes, it was sad, but had quite a few grins and even some laughs in it as well.  The problem I had was that Nicholson reminded me way too much of a relative---his looks, his Godless attitude, and his having mega bucks.  But it is a reminder for me to continue praying for Don, so that may be the reason I saw the movie.  Sometimes we get discouraged after praying for someone for years and not seeing results.  Don is 73 now, and still has no inclination to seek God.  Scary.

Well, our nice summer was fleeting.  Prediction is for very cold, high winds and snow flurries beginning at 6 this evening!

Darrel and I have been in the kitchen since we got home from church.  We are preparing dinner for seven, for following our church business meeting which starts at 6.  We are serving an international dinner.  ;)  It will be interesting to see the young people's reaction to the food--and drink!

Nice poem, Colin!  I can't imagine writing a poem in 2 hours, much less one that long!  Good on you!  :)

I voted!  Have you?  (Coffee challenge)

Samantha

Hi all, I need some photgraphic help.  Our pastors 70th birthday is this coming weekend and we are going to have a "roast" Sunday after church.

My job is to take a picture of him and crop his head onto a picture of Charles Atlas, the body builder.  I know, sounds strange, but our preacher has been lifting weights for the past year to stay in shape, and we kid him all the time.  He does not look like a 70 year old man!   Early 50's maybe.  Yet he talks a lot about Charles Atlas, and his wife kids him all the time, calling him Buff and things like that, (we have a lot of fun together!)  Which is why I have this project to do.

Can anyone recommend a free program that will do the job?  Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Samantha
