The sun is out and I have laundry going.  The outdoor temp is up to 15 degrees F. today and that is making me feel warm, actually.  I was getting a little crabby when it was stuck at zero.

Al:  Still nothing in writing for our son.  We are very impatient.  You know the saying....Lord, grant me patience - NOW!  I know that when I reach the pearly gates, there will be a long interview awaiting me.......

Judy B:  When our children had squabbles - I used to make them talk it over then hug each other - the boys really did not want to hug their sister then.  Congrats on your new job - it will be fun for learning all of the new sewing machines they sell.

Don has a board meeting in Denver and will be home late tonight.  I am getting things ready for the church quilting this afternoon and hope that it doesn't aggrevate my hips & back.  Oh, these old bones.  Went to the pool and we had quite a workout today so a nap would be nice but not enough quiet time here.

Etta Sue:  Yellowstone is breathtaking especially in the winter.

I am here with one of those large gel ice packs wrapped around my lower back. I don't know how it happened but this morning I went to get up from my chair here and my back slipped out. I have  had prayer, take a couple of generic Aleve tablets and now the ice pack, if it is till hurting tomorrow I will go to the chiropractor.

Etta Sue those photos are so fabulous. Wonderful calender shots for sure.

I posted a Sunset video link in the Where We Live Folder for those that don't have dial up. If you want to take a look.

Thank you so much for the devotional, Al.

Hello Everyone!

Here I am in Virginia and although it's cold, it's not as cold as up in Guelph.  I had a great trip down on Monday.

Will talk to you all again asap.

Janet

Etta Sue, I couldn't post last evening, either.

Judy, how can you home school AND work away from home?  I want your secret!

I helped Darrel install cameras today, and we are both worn out!  Many trips through the store, out to the van, etc., and then standing outside in the bitter cold installing a camera to watch the back door.  This business owner knows his employees are stealing from him, so thus the cameras.

Etta Sue, I have cable access, and would love to see those photos.  Thanks.

Pat!  Good to see you popping in here!  Glad you had a good trip.

I want to watch Bible History on TV now---they are showing the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Hi Janet!

Yes, Paul is busy doing the company books so thought I'd get on the internet and visit with you all.

Hi everyone.  It has been a long day.  It started normally but when I got home from coffee Pat told me our daughter had called from the hospital saying she had had to call 911 around 3 am with chest pains and was in the ER and they were going to do another cath on her heart this morning.

We left shortly and went to be with her downtown at the hopital.  The good news is that she didn't have another heart attack but did have another blockage.  They put in another stent and she is feeling better with her heart.  Of course, this having to stay on her back for several hours hasn't helped her back at all and she said her legs felt like they had knots in them as she hadn't taken the medicine for the neuropathy today.

Her blood sugar was over 400 when she got to the ER and her heart rate was really high as was her blood pressure.  Hopefully her heart will be OK now.  This is her third stent and she has had three heart attacks in a little over a year.

The doctor gave us a picture of the before and after and the blockage was very visible and were the results after the stent.  We will be going back down tomorrow to get her out of the hospital and take her to her apartment, which is about two blocks from the hospital.

We had to go over there today and pick up her laundry and it is being done now as she hadn't felt like doing it and had quite a bit to do.  Unfortunately she has many different health problems in addition to her heart and the doctor said the diabetes is very much a concern.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you have my correct e-mail so don't know why it would have bounced.

Pat, glad to see you posting and know you have arrived safely in Virginia.

Janet, it certainly is a shame when businesses have to have cameras to keep their own employees from stealing from them.

Marilyn, sorry to hear about your back problem.  Hope it feels much better tomorrow.

It is getting late so will sign off for now.  It will be tomorrow afternoon or evening before I will likely be able to get back to CP.

Pat

Oh, Larry!  I'm so sorry to read of your daughter.  Take care and I'll be praying for you all.

Just checking in.  I have spent all evening with Kitty....helping her work with Irfanview where you can convert photos in batches.  I made a movie out of Dr. Steve's photos on the Windows Movie Maker.  That's what we are having class on tomorrow night.

Larry ~ I will try sending the photos again.

Janet ~ Did you get your photos?

Fun evening.

Larry i am sorry to hear about yuour daughter.  I am praying.

Gord if you pop in Give Noreen a hug for me and let her know we are praying.

Pat good to see you.

Marilyn take care.

as far as HSing the girls and working, I go over the work with them before I leave, they are 15 and 13 now so I can leave them alone.  I set up their wrk so they know exactly what is expected and when I get home in the evening I mark and go over any problems they might have had.  Busy but that is ok.  They are skilled cooks when it comes to dinner and today it was ready when I got home.  Nice treat.

I am off to bed.  I have to work tomorrow again but I am off Friday.  Good Night everyone.

Good Morning, I am calling my Chiropractor as soon as his office opens at 7AM, I am sure hurting again this morning. Wonderful Bible study and worship last night. I am so thankful to my Lord for what He is doing in my life, just when I thought I had reached my destiny He adds something else to me. Thank you Jesus.

I did not go to Curves to work out today, I don't think I could have if I tried.

Gotta go now

Hi everyone.  Last night when I posted I thought the today was going to play out differently than it is.  Our daughter isn't sure when she will get out of the hospital as they want a diabetes doctor to see her.  So Pat went on to her appointment and I am staying here at the house.  We will go down and get our daughter later in the day and she is coming out for a few days and we will likely celebrate her birthday early while she is here.

Thank you all for your concern and prayers for our daughter.  I really appreciate it and you can never have too much prayer about a situaiton.

Etta Sue, thanks for the lovely pictures.  I did get them this time.

Marilyn, hope the chiropractor will be of help to you.

JudyB, hope you enjoy your new job.

Judy - you must be a very competent mom to have such skilled cooks!  It's so good to hear about youth that can and will do things.  God bless.

Good Morning Everyone...

I got this in my email and it's worth posting here--from Dr. Tozer:

Personal Life: It May Not Be Convenient

But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. --1 Corinthians 9:27

What must our Lord think of us if His work and His witness depend upon the convenience of His people? The truth is that every advance that we make for God and for His cause must be made at our inconvenience. If it does not inconvenience us at all, there is no cross in it! If we have been able to reduce spirituality to a smooth pattern and it costs us nothing--no disturbance, no bother and no element of sacrifice in it--we are not getting anywhere with God. We have stopped and pitched our unworthy tent halfway between the swamp and the peak.

We are mediocre Christians!

Was there ever a cross that was convenient? Was there ever a convenient way to die? I have never heard of any, and judgment is not going to be a matter of convenience, either! Yet we look around for convenience, thinking we can reach the mountain peak conveniently and without trouble or danger to ourselves.

Actually, mountain climbers are always in peril and they are always advancing at their inconvenience.
Dr. Tozer in I Talk Back to the Devil, 48.

"Lord, I don't know what You have in store for me today, in Your sovereign plan for my life. Help me to serve You faithfully, with full discipline, whether it's convenient or not. Amen."

Not much going on today.  Just lolling around until it is time to leave this evening to get Kitty and Cherie and all of us attending the class on 'Windows Movie Maker' at Ball State University in Muncie, IN.

Another bright and sunny day in Indiana.  But it is only 5°F.  Predicting snow but it usually doesn't snow in Indiana when it is this cold.  ???  But my solar heat is running...that is good on the pocket book!

My DIL sent me an email telling me to go to www.google.com and click on Maps.  Search for an address and you can see a street version like driving a car!  Worked for their address but not for mine.  Scary!

Good morning, everyone!
Just popping in to say hello really quick.  It was 3 degrees when I got up this morning.  We also have the possibility of snow later in the day today.  Brrrrrrrrrr.

Both my girls are busily doing their reading right now.  One of them was just grumbling a little about not being comfortable.  I find it hard to sypathize since she's in a very comfy recliner and still in pj's.  Ah, the luxuries of homeschooling.  LOL

I will do some work on my website today.  Need to replace some files that I uploaded at the incorrect size, so I can't show them as for sale, yet.  I really thought I'd read all the directions correctly, but that was when I first got the site.  I'm getting the hang of it now, and have done a lot of customization on it.  Feel free to stop by and browse, comment on photos and/or sign my guest book while you're there.  It always makes my day to see someone from CP dropped in on me.  It's like a visit with a friend.

Have a great and blessed day!  Kathleen

Larry, so sorry to hear of your daughter's latest round of medical problems.  Is she still able to keep her job?  Bless you all.

I had Care Plans for Beth today.  This is every three months, the director of nursing, PT girl, activities girl and Beth and I have a meeting to address any concerns any of us have about her care.  There is always something!  They do try hard to keep her happy, but some of the things necessary to keep her safe make her unhappy.  She just needs to understand they have no choice!

Beth and John seem to be getting along much better these days.  John almost died a few months ago---he hadn't been to a doctor in 30 years!  He almost went into a diabetic coma, had a reading of 1300 sugar!!  :o  I told Beth it was no wonder he had been grouchy and hard to get along with!  Now he's getting straightened out and feeling more his old self, and his communication with Beth shows it.  So there is always something to thank the Lord for, right?  He's even talking about trying to come visit her again.

Marilyn, hope your chiropractor was able to see you and that your back is better now.  No fun hurting!

Pat, have fun exploring our nation's capitol!  And stay warm!  Or at least warm up after being out in the cold.  Fun to have a hot cup of something and talk about the sights you saw.  Greetings to Paul!

I made a HUGE bowl of salad today.  I like to cut up all the "dry" stuff, make a big batch, so that we can have it for several meals and not take so long in doing it each time.  It looks so pretty and colorful, and I enjoy thinking about all the health benefits of it as I crunch it.  I used four kinds of greens, three kinds of peppers, celery, carrots, radishes, alfalfa sprouts, then before eating a bowlful I add tomatoes, craisins and  sliced almonds.  YUMMY!  I hope I never go back to my old way of eating again!

Judy, you are one busy gal!  Enjoy your new job.  I didn't realize the girls were already well into their teens---they grow up too fast, don't they?

I applied for a part time job last week.  I told the Lord that if that's the way He wants me to go, I will do it, and if not, it's okay with me!

I need to do my Flylady mission for the day!  See you later!

Janet that sound like my kind of salad, I use the spring herb mix greens,  canned beets, celery, tangerine or orange, an apple, red bells, mushrooms walnuts, dry tart cherries, sometimes tofu, and anything else that will fit in the bowl.

My back is not hurting at this moment, the Dr's office didn't call me back I think they are away for an early weekend. He goes snowboarding with the youth group he has at his church. He learned to snow board at 50. I took a real pain pill.

I came in to tell a Thankful news.  Our son did get the job offer - with his old company and they have upped his title and pay somewhat.  He said that he did offer prayers of Thanksgiving - so, as Janet mentioned earlier - there is some good out of being out of work for several months.

Larry:  My prayers for you, Pat and your daughter.  Do they ever consider doing a bypass instead of stents for her?  Just asking because the latest info mentions the bypass as being helpful for diabetics.  She has such a heavy load with all her medical issues - be sure to take care of yourself as I know you want to help her as well.  This too shall pass.

Marilyn:  Ouch - hope the chiropractor helps your back problem.

JudyB:  A pat on the shoulder to you and the girls.

Pat:  The museum sounds so interesting.  Nice that you can play tourist a little - I think that the humidity makes that city so chilly.  Lived there for six months many years ago - in Abingdon, VA.

Mrs Soileau and I are a bit blue today...Casey returns to San Diego to continue his studies...  :'(

We had 5 lovely weeks together, so we can't complain.  Though he's 21, we love to spoil him when he's back.  It had been a year and a half since his last visit, and the nex time, maybe a bit longer before he returns, as he'll be finishing up his undergrad studies.

Please pray for his safe travels and for Mrs Soileau, as she has got the blues quite a bit more than I do.

:) Good morning to all  It has been a very busy time this past few weeks.  My oldest brother was visiting from Scotland and has now gone back home and things are a bit quieter and the house is almost back to normal.

The weather is still very cold here and we are getting a little bit of snow.  We have some praise to tell you all about our grandson was at McMaster Hospital Children's area.  The specialist is very pleased with his health and he is now 14lbs. and growing very fast.  They will give him some x-ray's in 3 month's time to see what is going on in his back.  So we ask that you continue to pray that miracle will happen and that he will have no problems walking.

Could you also contiue to pray for my wife Noreen as she is having a rough time with many different side affect's to do with the med's she is taking for her back pain. :(

I have read through a lot of the postings and very concerned for many of you and will pray.

Judy B.: Thanks for your prayers and I do remember dad's saying's and many of Mum's.  I don't know where you are getting all your strength from to do all that you do in one day.  You should be thinking about retiring.  HA HA.

Pat:  I am thankful to see you arrived safely and I do hope that you have a wonderful time as you deserve it. Please say hi to Paul.

Al:  Thank you for the excellent  devotional.  God bless.

Time to go to sleep as I have an appointment at 8-30 a.m. Good night. <3

Hi everyone from a very cold, for us, Georgia.  It was 19 degrees this morning and hasn't warmed up too much.

Our daughter spent another night in the hospital as they wanted to try a different insulin with her.  We will leave shortly to pick her up, take her by her apartment and then bring her out for the weekend.

Gord, glad to read that your little grandchild is doing well.  It is tough when our wives are ill and there is nothing we can do to take the pain away.

Pat, it sounds like you had a nice time at the Space and Air Museum.  I have been there several times and always enjoyed it.  There are lots of things to see in that area.

Kevin, sure the 5 weeks have flown by but that is quite a long vacation from school.

Carol, apparently by-pass isn't indicated.  The two previous stents they have inserted are fine and the new one opened the artery nicely per the picture the doctor gave us.  He indicated the problems with the diabetes are probably her more serious concern and that affects all the organs of the body.

Marilyn, glad to read you are feeling better.  That is some salad you describe.

Janet, you haven't mentioned John in a long while so thought maybe he was no longer in contact with Beth.  Glad to read that I was wrong.  Our daughter hasn't been able to work for a couple of months due to the injury with her back, which seems to be getting no better.  She tried to go back a couple of weeks ago but they told her they didn't have a job for her anymore because she was seeking legal help to get workmen's comp for the injury to her back that occurred on the job.  The workmen's comp is paying the medical but don't want to reimburse any lost wages.  However, yesterday she got a call from the IRS to return for another season working with tax returns.  This is a desk job and will last a few months and it pays well.  We are just hopeful that the back situation will allow her to concentrate on her work.  We are taking it just one day at a time.

Etta Sue, hope you enjoy your class.

About time to leave for the hour drive to Atlanta.

Janet

Thanks and praise to God for Carol's son getting an even better job than he used to have!  God is so good---all the time!

Kevin, prayers and thoughts to you and Mrs.  I well remember when my kids left home for college, and that was only 400 miles, not clear off in another country!  I hope Casey stays in touch via computer.  That's one real blessing of computers!  Maybe you need to take her out on a little outing to cheer her up.  :)

Gord, good news on the grandson, hope the good reports continue as he grows.

I'm going to school to have lunch with my Youth Friends and then will stay for the 4th and 5th grades spelling bee.  After that, over to put color on Pat's hair and design some Valentines for us to help the residents make at the Care Home.

Do any of you remember Graham Kerr, The Galloping Gourmet?   I saw him on TV yesterday, and what a transformation!  He and his wife are vibrant Christians now, and rather than compromise his beliefs, he canceled all 30 of his TV contracts, sold everything they had, moved into a motor home (he says he drove under too low a bridge and it's now the first convertible motor home!) and they are traveling around speaking and ministering the gospel.  I was impressed.  His wife is really a card!  His website is outdulgence.com  if you'd like to take a look.

Time to get with my day.

Hello, Larry.  Sorry to hear that Stacey's employer let her go.  It is so hard for people in her situation--they are expected to work, but sometimes really cannot, but yet getting disability is a real challenge.  If it hadn't been for a dear friend's help getting to talk to the right person in the SS office, I don't know how long it may have taken to get Beth's disability.

It's a blessing she has that income, otherwise what would she do?  The Care Home takes her entire check, less $50 per month!  And now she is so disabled that she can only use her left hand, and not very much at that.  Yes, I'm glad her and John are not squabbling any more, both of them need a friend.

The class last night was very informative.  There were only 8 students.  We all had computers so we could work hands-on and make a movie with pictures and videos.  We got a booklet of instructions AND a diploma!!  I am now a graduate of Ball State University.  I asked her if I now qualified for discount software.  Alas, she said no!

My GPS got me to the Carmichael Building very simply.  It was almost 0° when we came out of the building to go home.  I turned on my GPS and it wouldn't work.  So I had to remember how to get back home...even a different way!  (My niece used to live in Muncie)  When I got home, I brought my GPS in the house, thinking it might be frozen up, literally!  But plugged into A/C, it still didn't work this morning.  So I bundled up and went to the car to get the manual.  After resetting it, now it works fine!  Whew!  Thought I was going to have to purchase a new GPS.

Kitty, Cherie and I ate at Cracker Barrel last evening.  Did you know that big people can order from the Kid's menu?  It says Kids of All Ages.  I ordered French Fried Shrimp with a side of large French Fries.  It also includes a drink.....for $4.49!!!  Just enough to eat, too!

I made a couple of cards on the computer this morning...one for my son and one for Kitty.  Now I am ready for lunch and relaxation.

Bright and sunny again today in Indiana but cold....17°F.  Very little wind and that helps.

Hi everyone,

I only have minute as we are leaving to visit my mother today in a few minutes.

I do remember you all in prayers, even if I haven't had time to read everything that's going on each day.

Al and Colin-I wanted to say a special thank you to the both of you for signing the guestbook on my website yesterday and for your kind words.  I really really really really needed some encouragement and it helped a lot.

I won't go into the details, but I've had some friends stab me (and our family) in the back (personally and professionally) and as of yesterday the "friendship" is now over.  They are not Christians, but we were trying to work with them and befriend them as best we could, but it is clear they are blind to the Truth and possibly not reachable.  Please keep our family and theirs in your prayers as we all deal with the fall-out.  We are very sad about this and wish the outcome could have been much different.  Our kids were friends as well.  Maybe this part should be in the prayer and praise section.  I guess I can put it there, too.

Blessings, Kathleen
