I am finally here today. my back is still a little stiff but at least I am not in pain as much today. I didn't go to Curves yesterday or today nor did I walk the dogs.
Here is another bit of info on my secret. It has been said by my Pastor that I am glowing  and doing a lot of smiling, of course he knows the secret. I have also received some wonderful emails.

We have a set of good sized storms coming in to the Northwest lots of rain and wind on the way. So if y-all don't hear from us'ns out here you will know that sumptin happened to our power.

Good morning, everyone!

Just a note, Kathleen - I noticed the Genesis 1:1 verse noted in your signature.  Awesome!  I like to ask people what is the VERY first thing we learn about God in His Word and am often met with a blank stare.  I then say, quote me the first 5 words of the Bible.  :)  "In the beginning, God created . . . "  God was creative!  And since we are created in His image, guess what!  We are creative too! I believe it is such an important aspect of God that we learn about it first!

 :coffee:  Good day all,

I have been reading and praying over your posts of each concern.

Kevin:  I am sorry for your sadness of your son being away so long and for your wife - it is great and sad to see the children growing and blooming.

Al:  Thank you - we believe that this jobless incident has put a new perspective in his life - all for the good.

Gord:  Don't you know that women really never retire?  At least completely retire?  Well, I mean, the income stops at retirement - the housework (even though shared) is not totally shared....

Yes, I remember Graham Kerr and I had read about him - such an exciting cook!

Today, the temps are finally into the 40's and it will be wonderful and sunny.

Good morning from a gloomy, warmer, Indiana.  I slept in this morning...longer than usual.  But I am raring to go now.

Marilyn ~ I am so happy for you.  I am praying that all goes exactly as you like it to go.  Does he live near to you?

I am going to Kitty's this afternoon while her husband goes with his brother to a Purdue basketball game.  Kitty and I plan to play on the computers.  She is trying to learn 'Corel Draw' and I will probably make some movies.  Kitty is an artist...paints, draws, etc.  Also want to show her how to upload pictures to 'flickr.com'.

I am praying that every one has a God Blessed Day!

Good Morning everyone.  It is another cold day here in the north.  BUT we are to have rain today and tomorrow.  I had a call from a friend an was asked if they could come out for a visit on Sunday after church.  We discussed the menu and settled on Chili and   salad with home made buns.  I will make the chili and she will bring the salad and buns.  Her children are close to Kass and Elby's ages and they get on well.  They will brobably go sledding.  I always enjoy their visits.

Today I have sewing to get done, and some laundry.  Four o'clock is skating so I hope to get all but the hand work done by then so I can watch.

Well I am off, Gord it isn't energy, it is determination.

Have a Great day everyone
Judy

No Etta Sue he does not live near me, he is in the Texas panhandle. I am hoping he will come for a visit when he finishes the project he is working on at present.

Hi everyone. I have been sitting  here waiting for the  big storm that the weather channel says we are having. It is just a steady mild rain so far. I have had my shower and washed my hair, I am not going  any place today. I am going to sweep the kitchen and vacuum the living and bedroom but I am going skip the moping as the dogs are coming in with  wet feet only to mess it up again.

Before daylight there were two cats fighting next door, I let Bebe out and she barked until Becky came out to stop the cat fight. Becky likes it when my dogs start barking because it is always because something, someone or a strange dog is in her  yard. I am so glad my dogs can see through the fence,  they drove me crazy with barking when they couldn't see what was on the other side. They don't do that here.

Marilyn, since you said "in the Texas panhandle" my inquiring mind wants to know what town.  That isn't far from us.

Etta Sue, wish I had a friend near who loved computer stuff and could help me learn some of it.  Glad you and Kitty are enjoying each other!

I got up at 7 this morning, went into the kitchen and looked around---opened cabinet doors, did some thinking; then got some boxes and started cleaning out!  I have far too many dishes, glasses, mugs, stem ware, etc.  A lot of it I never use, and my cabinets were packed to the edges of the shelves.  So now I have mostly (I won't say ONLY) what we use in there.  I moved a lot of the mugs to the back (canning) kitchen, those will be handy this coming summer when we host the family reunion.  I have called Doves (the battered women's shelter) and left a message asking if they need any dishes.  I do not like doing garage sales, would rather just give it to someone who can use it.  I also cleaned out a cabinet in the laundry room.  Now if I just had the bottom cabinets done!  Inch by inch.....baby steps.  I know, TMI........sorry.  :-[

Oh, yes, Darrel was consulted on what I got rid of, as he is the cook around here most of the time.  Sure wouldn't want to rile the cook!

I need to go do my nails.  See you later.

Janet he lives where you go to the doctor with Darrell. Not far from you I checked the map and not far from my prayer partner in Enid OK. I told him I have friends in Uliysses and Enid. I could help you learn "computer stuff"  IF Texas  is in the future for me.

Thanks for the "empathy" regarding Casey.  He's back in his apartment, recuperating from the much-longer-than-usual flight.  It was stormy in San Francisco when the flight arrived from Osaka, so they diverted to Oakland and had to sit on the runway for 2-3 hours.  Then they flew to San Francisco, where customs facilities are available and they aren't in Oakland.  And he finally got a flight into San Diego arriving after 11 pm, when he was originally scheduled to arrive at 3 pm. :o

Here's a part of what I read this morning, from Matthew.

From noon to three, the whole earth was dark.  Around mid-afternoon Jesus groaned out of the depths, crying loudly, "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?"

Some bystanders who heard him said, "He's calling for Elijah."  One of them ran and got a sponge soaked in sour wine and lifted it on a stick so he could drink.  The others joked, "Don't be in such a hurry. Let's see if Elijah comes and saves him."

But Jesus, again crying out loudly, breathed his last.

At that moment, the Temple curtain was ripped in two, top to bottom. There was an earthquake, and rocks were split in pieces.  What's more, tombs were opened up, and many bodies of believers asleep in their graves were raised.  (After Jesus' resurrection, they left the tombs, entered the holy city, and appeared to many.)

Here are some picts of Casey and Jazz, playing the day before he left...

What you quoted from Matthew was great, Kevin.  I really like that.  It pointed up something, though, that is common to all the translations.  When Jesus cried out, "Eli, eli, lama sabachtani," we tend to lose the sense of one word, namely, lama.  It's actually the Hebrew La Mah, meaning "for what."  So Jesus cried out, "My God, My God, for what have You abandoned Me?"

When we read it that way, then it's good to answer the question about God's reason for abandoning His Son.  It was for my sins.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We were away most of the day and when we got home I had to take my usual nap.  I am just now beginning to get up-to-date with the e-mail and the daily readings I do.  We went out-to-lunch with some new friends we met at our meeting this morning and had a very enjoyable time.

We did pick up our daughter from the hospital yesterday and she is spending the weekend.  She is very sore from the stent procedure as well as the pain she is suffering from her back.  We plan on celebrating her birthday tomorrow evening and they got shrimp for the occasion.

I have read all the postings.  Janet, I wish I lived where I could be of more help to you with the computer.  However, we are as close as the telephone and if you need help with something and I could help just give me a call.  My number may be different than the one you have had so I would need to send it to you.  I occasionally am able to help someone over the phone when they get stuck as have used many of the common programs.  However, I barely get by with graphics so am not much help in that area.

Marilyn, I don't think you fooled any of us. :)  I hope this works out as you want.

Marilyn

Larry I didn't think I had anyone fooled.

Good the girl ye Marilyn! Do you need any romantic poems written....any for Valentine's day at all? What about you Pat? No...oh well! So much romance going round.....its powerful! <3

Janet

Colin, I would love a romantic poem for Valentine's Day, for my sweetheart and me.  I have been planning (in my head) a romantic evening, and a poem would be perfect!  ;)

Larry, thank you so much for your kind offer of help.  I'm not into graphics--would ask Etta Sue for help on those!--but other problems I run into here and there.  I know you did help me before, so will call as needed.  Please email me your number.  Thanks.

Marilyn, Amarillo isn't close enough for any hands on help, would likely have to be via phone, thanks for offering.  We plan to go to Amarillo on Feb. 11 to take Beth's van for repairs.

Pat, I can almost see the glow and the smile on your face, just thinking about you and Paul.  I think it's just wonderful.  And it is good you aren't hurrying, but taking time to work everything out, asking God's guidance as you go.  (((hugs))))

I think I will go to the care home church service this afternoon.  I have a couple things to take Beth, anyway, and need to talk to Mom.  Our services were really good today.  Still studying about David in SS and talked about the wonder of being children of God in church.

I have posted my  new profile pic taken just this morning  by my Pastor in his office.. Great service this morning, themusic was perfect. No lead guitar and it made a huge difference. Dennis was on drums this morning instead of his guitar.

Yes Colin I would love to have a romantic poem for Valentines day. Thank you.

Good afternoon.

Both of our ministers were gone with the elders to a retreat to pray for the staff, the members and the money.  We had the Worship Leaders for our sermons today.  Really great.

Afterwards I went to Tony's for lunch to celebrate his birthday which isn't until Wednesday.  I don't mind saying I am 65...I don't feel that old.  But when I think that my son will be 47...now I feel old!!

I am doing some laundry and later will be watching TV.

Just looked at my calender and I don't have a thing to go for this next week until Friday morning when I have a blood draw.  Whoopee!!

Hi Everyone!

Wow!  Romance galore in our little chat place!  Great!

Yes, Janet, we're definitely taking everything slowly and waiting for the Lord's leading in our lives.

Yes, Colin, a nice romantic poem would be just lovely, please!  :)

Yes, our lawn has turned from green to white, and it is still falling.  I do hope, though, that it will quit and melt sometime this afternoon, as I've got to go down the hill and over to the church to teach Greek at 5.  I'll just wait on our Lord - He knows best.

I can just see the pavement on the street, though, and I don't think it's sticking there.

Colin

Cooo Marilyn...I would nearly romance you myself! You and Pat are glowing and getting all dolled up...its powerful all the gether! Now Janet is into the romantic mood and it is not even spring. Powerful!

Let me clear something up here When I spoke to Janet about Texas it was hypothetical. Michael and I have not met in person yet. Although I have received some wonderful letter from him and I do like him a whole lot. It is not in the romance department as yet. That may  come later. When it does y-all will be the first to know. beside us. God has been speaking to both of us. What ever is God's will that is what it will be.
