Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

JAnet you need to rest, Perhaps take an hour for yourself and put your feet up.

Ruth

Janet: It is wonderful that your chiropractor took the time to brighten Beth's day.
Al & Pat: Again this morning I have re-read forgiveness so simple but so hard to apply.

I rec'd a call from a friend asking that I send an e-mail as they are having some sending and receiving issues with their mail, it seems that they are receiving but not sending.
In a few minutes I will be finishing with some of my household stuff - washing floors with a mop an easy job.  Then I will be leaving to find suitable buttons for a coat, I would like to install a zipper but I do feel that the look of the coat would be destroyed and yes it is for my aunt not myself which makes a big difference about the way I would do the job no really I would do the same thing for myself.  I believe do it right or don't do it at all.

At the present time it is warmer but the deep freeze is to arrive by evening or tomorrow.

Have a great day    Ruth

Janet ~ You should have left out the word 'probably' when you said you would probably quit after this next trip.  I know we are suppose to think of others but sometimes when it comes to our health and well-being, we need to think of ourselves.

Larry ~ Still enjoying Pandora.  I just added some artists.  It was kind of repeating the same songs.  And yes, I am enjoying being involved in my new little old church.

I called and made an appointment with the doctor that performs the InterStim Therapy.  It isn't until March 6th but that gives me time to think it over real good and go to Florida if Ivalou and I decided to do that.  Or at least somewhere for a few days!

We are having a heat wave in Indiana today.  44°!!  WOW!!  It has been quite awhile since the temp has been in the 40's!  It is kind of overcast but once in a while that beautiful sun peeks out!

It is dead here at the store.  I have had 2 customers all day.

We have had freezing drizzle today, and we are expecting snow by this evening.  As Ruth said the temperature is to drop down to last weeks temperatures overnight.

In a presentation in Geography Kass told the class that there is good from the severe cold temperatures.
In British Columbia there is the Pine Beetle destroying pine trees.  The only way to erradicate these beetles is with extreme cold.  I hope that the cold actually works!  The teacher was surprised that she knew that.

Well I am off yet again

I just want to let you know that I am still  here reading all you posts without signing in.

I went to visit Willa yesterday Oh my she is in such excruciating pain when they move her or try to get her up to just stand beside the bed for a moment. The surgery  took only 45 minutes but they could not get the pain subdued so she was in the surgery until 11pm; they are giving her morphine every hour.  She will be there for a couple more days then on to rehab. They put in two rods in the shape of a 7 and some screws and pins. The break is below the hip.

I had my cholesterol blood tests done yesterday and have an appointment to see the Dr. on Monday for another  dose of liquid nitrogen on my nose and leg. So will get my test results at the same time.

I am doing a litle experiment in baking this morning, making an Apple Blackberry Crisp. I have been craving something sweet,  and this is better than cookies, candy or cake, at least this has fruit.

Signing off now.

I am so sorry for Willa.  This must be so hard on her.  Let her know I am praying.

I understand the craving for sweet.  I have some blackberry jam that I enjoy at times like that.

Janet

Marilyn, I'm so sorry about Willa.  One of our residents fell and broke her femur several weeks ago, and she was one of the most spry people there!  So sad...but she is back now, using a wheelchair and doing pretty well.  Now her husband is not doing well.

Beth's care plan was very frustrating.  She has been sleeping in her recliner for months until the past two nights.  They brought in a foam mattress which is much more comfortable for her, and yesterday she wasn't up at all.  Today, she was complaining that her knees won't bend without pain.  Can two nights and one day of them being straight have that much effect already?  :-\ :'(  Sometimes I wish I could just have a week of not trying to come up with solutions for her pain and problems.

And now I think I WILL take an hour and go put my feet up!  Thanks for the suggestion.  :)

Hi everyone.  We have had a truly beautiful day here with the temp getting up to 63 degrees.  Tomorrow is suppose to be only 56 but that is still desirable but we may get a little rain.

I had a very busy day and wore myself out.  After coffee we went walking at the gym.  Then I stopped at the library and then went with my friend Rod to look at computer monitors.  He is replacing his two 19 inch monitors with either 24 or 26 inch monitors.  We went to Sam's Club, Fry's, MicroCenter and finally Costco.  He didn't buy the monitors today but I was able to buy some medications that come over the counter and save a significant amount of money on them at Sam's and Costco.  We ate the the a Panda Express and that was my first time to eat there.  It was quite good.  Rod and I shared one order and it was more than enough.  I came home and took a nap as was beat.

JudyB

Oh Janet.  There is so much pain for her and you.  I am praying.

Cold again today but the car started, so off tp praise team practise, and a visit with a good friend.

Back later.

Etta Sue

So much pain and worry.  Marilyn and Janet, just know I am praying for your friends and loved ones and for each of you!

Not much going on today.  No plans to leave the house other than the mailbox.  When it is this cold, I wish the mail was delivered at the house instead of a mailbox along side the road!   ::)

This afternoon I plan to work on my pictures that I took Wednesday while I was with Kitty.  Kitty also informed me that the Kokomo Photo Contest is a month early this year!  Not ready for that!

I am off to work on my photos.

Hi everyone.

I see it is very quiet here today.  The sun has come out this afternoon after some light rain this morning.  We went to a meeting this morning and then out to lunch with 5 other friends at our recently opened Grayson Cafe.  We had a good lunch and probably will bypass dinner this evening or have something very light.

I spoke with our daughter while ago and she was upset that someone is chaining a bicycle and blocking the handicapped entrance to her apartment building.  She has complained several times to the management but the person continues to do this.  I told her I think the next time she found this I would contact the police and file a complaint.  Undoubtedly this violates the ADA laws.  There are several people in the apartments that are in wheelchairs and this is the only entrance that has a card system to automatically open a double doors.

Hello Everyone...

I have just finished reading all of your posts.  I was away from the internet while in Winchester but we came home last evening and today I'm doing laundry and trying to get caught up on my email.  I still have over 100 to go.  I get a devotional everyday from the same man that I already posted earlier this week and I'm going to post this one that came in while I was away from the computer.

It meant a lot to me.

From the writings of Ray Stedman...

The Purpose Of Marriage

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." So they are no longer two, but one (Mark 10:7-8).

There are a great many implications in this statement. First, you recognize that it does away with all such notions as "homosexual marriages." There are no such things. These pathetic misrepresentations are but a poignant commentary upon the twisted, distorted ideas that prevail in society today. It takes a man and a woman to be married. Marriage is one man and one woman, and it always has been, from the beginning.

But what our Lord makes clear is that this relationship is the highest relationship possible in life. It takes priority over all others. Closer even than the tie of blood is that of marriage, in the mind and heart of God. It is a closer relationship than with any children who follow. People are to become husbands and wives before they become fathers and mothers. This indicates a priority of relationship. A man is closer to his wife, and a wife to her husband, than they will ever be to their children. Though we may not feel that way, nevertheless, it is the truth.

What, then, is the purpose in marriage? It is to become one. This is what marriages are for. Two people who are disparate, distinct, and different individuals, with different personalities, different gifts, blending their lives together so that through the process of the years they become one flesh--that is what marriage is. It is not something that happens instantaneously when you get married. The wedding service does not make you one. The first act of sex after marriage does not make you one. It begins the process, but it does not finish it. It takes the whole marriage to accomplish this. Marriage is the process of two people becoming one.

Therefore man and woman are not to live together as roommates. Marriage is not going your separate ways and having your separate careers and merely sharing a house and a bed together. Nor are they to split up over every problem or difficulty that arises between them; they are to work them out. They are not to separate; they are to choose to be together, to spend the rest of their lives together, in order that they might merge their lives together. Therefore they stop being rivals and start to become partners. A successful marriage, therefore, is not one without problems; it is one where the problems are being worked out, where the husband and wife do not split but stick together, face up to their problems, discover the hardness of heart that is there, and learn how God can soften it. In other words, it is a process, not a single production. It is a pilgrimage, not a six weeks' performance. It is intended to be a public portrayal, not a private predicament. It is a lifelong contract, not a renegotiable franchise, as many presume today.

Thank You for these plain and clear words that help me understand what is involved when we choose a wife or husband and what Your purpose is in it. Help me to walk in these ways.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Janet

Me, too, but it was a hard job.

I scrapbooked today, but haven't felt well, and the longer the day went, the worse I felt, so gave up and came home.  I have drunk some green tea, taken some pain pills, and am going to bed.  I haven't felt this bad in a long, long time.  I think I have just gone beyond my endurance, and need to rest, as Judy and others have said.  :-\

Sorry this is short.

Janet, I'm sure you need to rest, bless your heart.  When we become too tired, emotionally and/or physically our bodies sometimes object by getting sick.  I'm praying for you tonight.

And for Willa too, Marilyn.

Carol

Tis Sunday morning - I need to get cracking in the next hour.

Interesting thoughts on marriage - especially about the separate careers.  Our family does have a lot of separate career marriages - well, everyone is highly educated in different areas so that in itself creates a situation for a married couple.  They all work it out - just my thoughts.

Janet:  Just when will your extra work be over?

Here comes the sun -

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I am ready for church but it is still an hour before we will leave.  Other than church and perhaps getting lunch with friends there is nothing else on the agenda for today.  It is chilly here this morning but suppose to get up to the 50s, which will be nice.  It was very pleasant here yesterday afternoon when the sun came out and the temperature went up.

Pat, thanks for sharing the writing on marriage.  I certainly agree with what the man wrote.

Janet, you have been driving yourself for a long time and it is time for you to take time for yourself and recover.

Carol

I missed an entire page -

Marilyn:  So sorry about the pain for Willa

Janet:  Praying for Beth.

Praying for the release of pain for all.

JudyB

Good Sunday Morning folks.

Another cold day here in the north, don't know yet if the car will start.

Janet you will e of no use to anyone if you get sick because you overextended yourself.  A friend once said once said that if we burn out for the Lord we are still out, no matter the reason.

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Liz

We had a slight snowfall last night.  Just enough to cover up the snow already around and make things even more slippery :(

Janet, you really do need to rest!  Judy is right...

Had an e-mail from my friend and they got another dachshund to play with Maddie.  Both dogs are retired moms and were used for that purpose by a good kennel in the states.  Maddie is 8 and the new dog is 5.  Sent a picture of Charles and it is cute to see this tall, lanky Texan, with a little dog tucked under each arm.  The dogs are happy together, so that will be nice as Maddie seemed lonely.

B. wants to go for an overnight in Victoria in a few weeks.  Without hubby or the dogs.  I could use a break from here...especially the cats.  Have to keep bringing Misty inside every little while, so she doesn't freeze her tush!  Never mind that I freeze in the process ;)

That is a nice article about marriage.  Only problem, in the real world, it only works if both partners want to make things work.  That is not something new and has never changed.   :)

I am going to go and finish painting a picture of roses.  Trying to think Spring!

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz
CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

Janet

Thanks, friends.  I love you all!

Good words on marriage, Pat.  I was too beat to read it last night, so just did.  He is right on.  Almost any difference can be worked out in a marriage, if both partners are willing to listen, negotiate with kindness, and give a little on what they expect from the other.

We went to church, now Darrel has come to tell me if I want a rib, they are done.  They do smell good.

I slept early, then woke up and was awake until 5:30 AM.  So I'm still tired.  I do believe I feel a nap coming on.  :sleepy:

Yesterday we went to Forest's basketball game in the morning then to the hospital to visit Willa. She is doing much better  and in a lot less pain. There has been someone staying the night with her every night she has been there, one night it was the Women's Ministry president and the other night family members. She had a problem with her heart Friday night so now they have her on oxygen.

Well we have decided to get a cat, not a barn cat but a kitten from a home.  We will have the chance to train it, and the girls and Cimi will love it.  The barn cat has been returned,  He was too wils, even though he did get rid of a large population of mice.  THat is the main downfall living in the country.  The other downfall is the distance to travel to town.

We are back from church, good message.  He was speaking on the church of Ephesus and how it relates to us as people today.   We finished with the hymn,   The Heart Of Worship, and told the story of Matt Redman's church.  They were doing everything right, right music, right band, right message and it all became routine and lost its "first Love.  As a result they cutout the band and music and came into the sanctuary to silence.  This song came out of that experience.  Lance brought up how God sees through us like we see through glass.  We are transparent to Him.  How many times do we try to hide our innermost feelings and motives.  We have lost our "first love".  He told of a new Christian reading through the new testament in 3 days and came back for more.  Received the old testament and read through that in 3 weeks.  He was enthralled with his "first love".  How many of us have lost our "first Love"?  Time to get back to Him.

The Heart Of Worship (When The Music Fades)
Verse 1
When the music fades
All is stripped away
And I simply come
Longing just to bring
Something that's of worth
That will bless your heart

Bridge
I'll bring You more than a song
For a song in itself
Is not what You have required
You search much deeper within
Through the way things appear
You're looking into my heart

Chorus
I'm coming back to the heart of worhip
And it's all about You
It's all about You, Jesus
I'm sorry, Lord, for the thing I've made it
When it's all about You
It's all about You, Jesus

Verse 2
King of endless worth
No one could express
How much you deserve
Though I'm weak and poor
All I have is yours
Every single breath
I'll bring you more than a song
I'll bring you more than a song
More than a song
I'll bring you more than a song
I'll bring you more than a song
You're looking into my heart
Looking into my heart
You're looking into my heart
Into my heart
I'll bring you more than a song
I'll bring you more than a song
I'll bring you more than a song
I'll bring you more than a song

Good afternoon.

I was up early to go to church since I was doing the projector system again today.  There was an awesome sunrise when I started to leave.  So  I got my camera and went out and took a few pictures.  I got to church a little after 8 and worked with the praise team and their songs.  I figured out how to put the sermon notes over a little movie.  Looked good to see movement all during the sermon instead of static words on the overhead.

After church we were walking toward the Sunday School classroom and could see out a window.  Beautiful snow!  Great big snowflakes floating down!  The sanctuary is all stained glass windows.  Once we could see outside, everything was covered with white.  All of this happened during church...in a little over an hour!

And I will brag on myself...I didn't goof today at the projector!  Hurray for me.  That prayer I said before church helped a lot!

Later six of us ladies went to Applebee's for lunch.  They sat us by the windows and we all liked to froze to death.  When I am cold, it is cold!!  As soon as I got home I changed into my lounging pj's and soft house slippers.  I am finally thawed out!

Does anyone know if you can download YouTubes?  I saw an awesome YouTube today that would be great for church.

It is still snowing.  Tiny flakes, then big flakes and then back to tiny flakes.  You can still see blades of grass but barely!  I am in for the day...well, actually nothing on my plate to go out for until next Saturday!!!  Not planned, at least!
