Though it was his desire to influence people for Christ through his preaching ministry, it is Robert Lowry's ministry as a hymn writer that has kept his memory alive since his death in 1899. He composed around five hundred Gospel hymns during his years of ministry, none better known than "Nothing But the Blood." The first stanza of this hymn is sung as energetically today as when he wrote it in 1876: "What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus."

Since innocent animals were first sacrificed as a substitute for guilty human beings, blood has been the means of atonement. Why blood? Because blood "is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life" (Leviticus 17:13-14). So for one life to be taken in place of another, blood must be shed. "Without shedding of blood there is no remission" of sin (Hebrews 9:22).

Praise God today that His own Son's blood was sufficient to cover the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). And make sure your faith is in "nothing but the blood of Jesus."

Hi everyone.  I didn't get up until 9 am this morning and have spent the last two hours getting breakfast for Pat, mixing up some cold slaw, and cleaning up the kitchen (just remembered I forgot to turn the dishwasher on-not the first time).  I am ready to rest for a bit but feeling much better this morning than I did yesterday.  Am sitting in my easy chair to watch a bit of the Olympics and read messages on the boards.  Our DIL made a very tasty dinner for us last evening and we are planning on getting something from a restaurant for our main meal today.  It is going to be very hot here again today but not as hot as the midwest where I see Kansas City is to be up to 105 degrees again today.  I didn't try to get to church this morning.  Pat continues to become stronger, is getting up out of the bed or chair much easier.  She still is suffering pain but is trying to get off the very powerful pain medicine.  She is faithfully doing her exercises.  She did come out into the family room and sat in her easy chair for awhile. 

Jeanne, it was indeed a pleasant surprise and promise in the future if I can't have internet access I will send a message to someone or call them and ask that they let our CP family know what is going on so they don't worry.  I just never thought about doing that using my phone while I was laying there in the hospital.  Fortunately it wasn't a long stay. 

Janet, after talking to my doctor on Thursday afternoon I put together a few things and got in the car and drove to the hospital ER and was admitted from there.  I discussed driving with my doctor and he felt it was ok since this wasn't a sudden change and had been feeling poorly for several days.  Hurrah to you for sleeping through the night.

Judy, thanks for the info regarding Pat.  Hope the surgery will soon do away with the pain for her.  I agree with you that I will be here just as long and no longer than is in agreement with God's plan for my life. 

Carol, love your reference to "mileage checkup".  It gave me a chuckle.

Pat, what a nice surprise to see you post.  You do very well with that one finger.  I am doing some of that on my iPad as it is not convenient to type on it with all fingers although the keyboard would probably allow it.  Glad you got the stitches out.  My Pat is to get the stitches out of her knee on Aug 2nd.  My DIL plans to be here to take her for the appointment.  The therapist warned her to take the ice bag with her as it is going to hurt after they are removed.  We had never heard of doing this before but the therapist told us how to make great ice bags.  You simply take a gallon plastic bag and put in a mixture of 2/3rd water and 1/3 rubbing alcohol.  This makes a slushy mixture that is easy to mold over the area needing to be iced and is very expensive.  I triple bagged to be sure that if it thaws out it doesn't leak. 

Etta Sue, I wasn't able to let you all know that I was going to the hospital as I didn't know until about 20 minutes before I left.  The back to back was for the ICD that was replaced on July 6th.  I love to play cribbage as used to play it with my dad and for many years played it during lunch time at work.  There are good cribbage games available on the computer.  You have been on a cleaning campaign.  My mother always did spring and then fall cleaning of the entire house.  Of course, we didn't have air conditioning and lived on a dirt and then gravel road and keeping things clean was more difficult and my mother always wanted a very clean house.

Marilyn, I wonder how you could play cribbage by yourself.  She must have played both hands and guess that way you couldn't lose.    Hope you don't hurt yourself shampooing your carpet.

Jeanne, thanks for the new devotional for this week. 

Our neighbors were not at church and have missed for weeks because he has chemo on Fridays and becomes ill from Sat through Sun each week.   I am sure that he needs the bed rest at home because their son (a full Colonel in Air Force) is visiting this week.  Their son is retiring soon and has bought a little farm - that is interesting because he has been in charge of major air bases and this is a big life change.  Anyway, that is a little tidbit from our neighborhood. 

Our granddaughter went home yesterday and we truly miss having someone young and lively around the house.  She was game to go at any time so it was a bit of an effort but we pulled out some ideas she liked.  We could not do this every single day that is a fact.  She is not interested in any sewing or knitting anymore - teenager now.  We did some baking - thank goodness for air conditioning or that oven would not have been turned on. 

Our dishwasher is super quiet so it is always being forgotten when it is time to be turned on. 

Thanks for the chatty posts here.  It's like getting to visit with friends--very enjoyable!

Larry, thanks for the ice bag tip--I need to remember that one!  Our chiropractor often reminds me that "ICE is your friend!"

We really had a full house at church this morning---so many people I do not know, and not enough time to walk around and introduce myself and get some names.  I was happy to talk for a minute with my youngest daughter's best friend from school days, whom I had not see in years.  She now has a little boutique shop here in town--I must go check it out.

Has anyone here read the book Harbinger?  I started it yesterday, could barely put it down, finished it today.  Written by Jonathan  Cahn, in a narrative style, it tells the ancient mystery that holds the secret of America's future.  It gives information from the Bible that links ancient Israel and America, and how the two are intertwined.  Really fascinating, and a quick read.

Even though I did sleep last night, I am having trouble keeping my eyes open!

Janet the Harbinger sound like a book that I would love to read. Those are my type of books.
We went to the Luau at my yoga teacher's home this afternoon, There was so much good food. I made an Hawaiian Fruit Salad and brought home most of it. That's OK though I will eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner LOL.

Larry thank  you for the tip on making an inexpensive ice pack.

I must tell you that the Sensa Product that I am using WORKS, in  4 months I have lost 13 lbs and 20 inches. I  started out at 183 lbs and no weigh 170. I have more energy and I am walking 3-5 miles per day and going to the gym 5 days per week, yoga  when I can  is a 1½ or I can go twice per week for 1 hour at a time. but i don't go to yoga  all the time. I do some at home but not much.

Monday again!!  The weeks just fly by!

I had a nice phone call from Gord yesterday, and he asked me to pass along a prayer request for him.  He is having lots of trouble with his left leg and big toe, caused by the diabetes.  They have been having a lot of company and he hasn't been online much lately.  It was nice to talk to him.

I am going to take a good knife and go to the Civic Center this morning to help cut sweet corn off the cobs.  This is for the big annual Home Products dinner held here each September.  It takes a lot of work by a lot of volunteers to pull it off, so I will do my bit.   

Not as good a night last night, but finally got to sleep sometime around 2, and slept until 7, so not too bad.  Hope it smoothes out soon so I can sleep every night.

Watching the review of the Olympic activity yesterday.  We watched some of the swimming, the gymnastics and the gal who is such a good marksman--she is amazing!

My dishwasher is leaving everything dull and scummy looking.  I think it is the cheap soap Darrel bought at DG.  Anyway I am running it again, adding some bleach to see if that takes care of it.  Yuck.  I like sparkling clean looking glasses, not messy looking ones.  If this doesn't work, I will scrub each piece by hand using whatever is necessary to make them shine again.

Darrel is going to make me a couple of corn holders.  Just a little block of wood with a nail through it, so you can ram the cob down on the nail and it holds the ear steady while you cut off the kernels.  The extra one is for a friend who is also going to help.

Time to get with the program for the day!

Hi everyone.  After a quiet weekend things are busy this morning with the housekeepers here and the yard people as well.  I asked them to trim the bushes this morning as that hasn't been done for awhile.  I told the man that it needed to be done so I can keep track of my neighbors.  I tarried at coffee this morning so am late writing.  I plan on going to my men's luncheon today but not feeling too peppy this morning despite a lot of rest over the weekend.

Janet, the corn holder should be helpful.

Marilyn, that is quite a workout program you have.  Keep up the good work.

Hi Carol and all who stop by.  Sorry to hear that Gord is experiencing more health problems. 

A friend sent me the following and I think it represents what these discussion boards mean to me so well.  I don't think I had seen it before.  It is called Vitamin F.

Janet with your dishwasher If you can catch it in the final rinse throw in some vinegar.  A cup or more.  It won't hurt the dishes and gets rid of that soapy scum.  On a side note the upper-class restaurants shine their silverware with vinegar on a cloth to make sure they shine brightly!

LArry I bought a special shoulder icepack to the tune of $40.  If I had known this "trick I would have used it.  When I go to Pat I will make up one for her that way.  Another trick we used was to buy a large bag of frozen peas or corn kernels amd use that for an ice-pack.

Janet your body/brain will need to get used to sleeping through the night again.  It will take time.

Another cleaning frenzy!  First I ate breakfast and read my devotions.  Then to the garage and started mowing the grass.  It has really grown in a week....because of the few rains we have had! 

Then I came in and rested awhile.  Then I tackled the entertainment center and the wall with the picture window on it in the living room.  I have vertical blinds made of navy blue cloth!  Well, Ali loves to bird watch at the window and her hair ends up on the blind.  So I sweep the blind with the small attachment on my sweeper!  Works!  But I stopped today with only two walls done.  Maybe tomorrow afternoon I will tackle the other two walls that hold two floor to ceiling bookcases that is full of clear glass, crystal and such!  Yuck! 

If I keep this up, four more work days and my house will be sparkling. 

Then I need to get out the power washer and wash my white deck!  Need to do that on a cloudy day so I won't get burnt from the sun! 

Church was awesome yesterday and Sunday School was educational.  We have a new teacher...a retired school teacher and minister.  He is making the lesson very interesting and gets us to talk and answer questions.  We are through Genesis and now in Exodus.  Moses being saved in the Nile by Pharoah's daughter.  What other occasion in the Old Testament had to do with water and saving people?  Noah and his family.  All through the works of God.

Then we went to King Chef for lunch.  I got home around 1:30.  Ivalou went somewhere else and got home around 2pm.  I was catching up online and Tony called.  He asked if I was on my way?  I said No...I didn't think the party started until 4pm.  No, his step-grandson's birthday party was 2-4pm, I thought it was 4-6pm.  So I called Ivalou and we headed to Audrey's and got there at about 3:15.  Donovan turned 10 years old today!  Great to see people I haven't seen for awhile. 

Charlene's mother, Charlotte, had a little memo holder.  She said she was shopping at the new shopping center and found it on the clearance table.  She thought that it would be a good thing to carry in her purse.  She opened it and on the little notepad someone had written 'I love Donovan Shuff!'  and signed 'Olivia Keith'.  Sure enough, Donovan knows Olivia.  So funny that Olivia was with her Mom was shopping and wrote on this little memo holder and Donovan's great-grandmother bought it!  Now Audrey has it to show Olivia's mother!  How funny!

The mailman finally got here.  You sure can't set your clocks by him!  Sometimes he is here before noon...today it was after 3pm!

My cat Fritzy has been sneezing like crazy since I came back from California, I am wondering what could be wrong with him. Etta Sue any suggestions??

Took Happy in for his recheck this morning, he is doing well but  the Dr  reduced the dosage on the Prednisone to 10 mg.

We still haven't picked up the Rug Doctor machine. Tomorrow morning for sure. I can't stand the odor in the family room any longer.

Keith is  going to have his 72 Opel GT engine restored by our neighbor's brother, it has not been running for year.

Time for me to get out and walk the dogs.

Boy, such a lot of corn!  And it was really beautiful, too--not a blemish on it, that I saw.  We cut until they  told us they had more than enough--over 100 bags, one gallon each.  They will be frozen and stored at one of our local grocery stores until the day of the dinner, Sept. 17.  And they were giving away the corn that was left over, so I got to bring some home, making Darrel very happy.  He loves corn on the cob!  I took my camera along with the intention of taking some photos of the activity, but once I started working, I didn't want to stop, wash my hands and take the pictures. 

My friend Lou Ann was also cutting off corn, and then we met for lunch and had such a nice visit.  She had paid me for two books some time ago, so I took those to her and signed them for her.  She plans to send one to her sister, who has a Downs Syndrome daughter, as she feels my book will be an encouragement to her.

I am now going to begin outlining some questions for the interviews I want to do with the residents of our care home.  My plan is to have one published each week for a year, or however long it takes to feature each resident.  I'm trying to think of a good name for the series; something that reflects my feeling that each of those dear people is special and valuable.  I am considering "Treasures from The Legacy"...what do you think?  Any suggestions would be welcome.  I just MUST get something done, in spite of feeling tired, sleepy and dragged out.

Janet when did you last have blood work done?  Perhaps start taking a good multivitamin that along with the sleep aids you have should help.

I was brought to an earlier group of posts in January and it was so interesting.

Janet:  JudyB wrote first about the vinegar.  Washing dishes in Arizona,  I use the highest rated solid Finish little packets and add at least 1/4 cup vinegar to the machine.  Otherwise, I was washing by hand - which I don't mind either.  AZ water leaves a white finish on dishes if not properly handled.  Your corn fest sounds like a real community affair.  How nice for all. 

Liz:  Nice to see your post.  Interesting what you said about our taste in reading (and I include music).  I have one good friend who loves romance novels and I wouldn't waste my time on them but that is her relaxation so I am not one to judge.  Now that I think about it - I hope I am not replying to a post from some other year 

Football season has started.  I am missing Tebow. 

Watching the Olympics a little.  We have to run to the bank this morning.  Our nights are getting cooler and that is the best part of living in higher altitude. 

Hi everyone,  I awoke to some thunder showers this morning but they didn't last long.  However I was very glad as they had fertilized the yard a couple of days ago and it needed to be watered.  I went to coffee this morning but that is going to be it for the day as am feeling very exhausted and have laid back down and am reading and writing on my iPad with a split screen.

Judy, we have used frozen vegetable packs in the past but the slushy ice bags work wonderfully.

Etta Sue,  sounds like your house will soon be squeaky clean.  Glad you didn't miss the birthday party.

Marilyn, sure Keith will be glad to have his Opel fixed up.  It has been a long time since I ave seen one of those.

Janet, what a wonderful project to write a story for residents of the home.  I bet you will find it interesting.  I like the title.  Will this be your next book?  I like the title you are thinking about.

Carol, surprised that you are experiencing cooler nights so early.  I am glad that it will soon be football time.

I was up early and went for my walk, talked to my sis Shirley who also walks in the early mornings (on our cell phones.)  When I got back to the house, Darrel still wasn't up, so I drove over to our friends' place--probably about 6 miles--to water their plants for them.  They are in Colorado for a while, trying to escape this terrible heat.

I had a fair night last night.  Maybe things will eventually smooth out.  Judy, I'm a big believer in vitamins and supplements, take them every day.  Thanks for the vinegar tip re the dishwasher.  I used some crust buster, then in last rinse, some bleach, and they came out shining again.  But vinegar would probably be better

Carol, thanks to you, as well.  We do have good water, so I'm blaming the cheap dishwasher soap unless it continues when we go back to Cascade.

My buddy Pat is home, so I'm going over to get my hair done pretty soon.  I am judging at the Stevens County fair tomorrow, so will be nice to look better.

I want to snooze a few minutes before going to Pat's!  Later!!

I am almost too pooped to type!  Big day at the pool, taking a Chemo Wrap to the hospital, shopping at Dollar General, eating at Ginger's and then back home.

Home was changing the bed and doing three loads of laundry of which is made, folded and put away.  And the living room is finished.  Why, oh why do I have so much glass that needs polished?  It sure is pretty when it is clean and lots of memories while I am cleaning remember who gave me this or that or where I got this or that.  I guess I will keep it all! 

Next is the dining room...but I think I am taking tomorrow off!! 

Jacob was to get home today!  I have been thinking of him off and on all day and saying little prayers for travel safety! 

Etta Sue, I also have quite a lot of glass, which sits in my east window of the living room, sparkling in the morning sunlight (when it's nice and clean-- )  I do enjoy it.  And---such good news to hear that Jacob is finally coming home!!  Does that mean home to his parent's house, or home to his hometown and more time in hospitals and rehab?

I have been for my morning walk, ate a bite of breakfast and done some on here.  Next is Bible reading, prayer, dressing and getting gone to Hugoton where I am judging at the fair today.  It's already somewhat windy and getting hot, so not shaping up to be a pleasant day, weather-wise.

Hi everyone.  Going to be another hot day here in Georgia but not too bad this morning.  Don't think we have any rain in the forecast.  I got back from coffee a little bit ago but that will be it for today as beginning to wear down.  However, I plan on staying up this morning at least until after lunch.  The physical therapist is to be here between 2:30 and 3 today so will rest earlier although Pat is now doing many of her exercises from her recliner.  Yesterday she put aside the walker and is now using the cane so she sees daily progress.  She even started her own breakfast today but our dil finished getting it on the table as Pat became shaky.  I know all the laying around and the surgery has made her weak and she will have to recover her strength. 

Janet, we had purchased some of the little dishwasher soap packets having the Walmart brand and Pat felt they didn't work as well as the Cascade ones.  We do like using the little packets that also contain a rinse.  You are a good neighbor to drive 6 miles to water their flowers.  Hope you found a lot of great painting to judge today at the fair.

Etta Sue, you did have a busy day.  Hope you give yourself a break today as it will still be there to do on another day.  I was thinking of Jacob last evening and thought I haven't heard anything for several weeks.  Did he just get back from Atlanta?  Also, is he still in a coma?

Jacob is home!  Home, meaning less than a mile from me.  His house.  Not a rehab room, hospital room or nursing home.  HOME!  He is still in a coma but doing good.  He is able to swallow so can have foods like puddings, cooked cereal and such.  He drinks through a straw.  He can do things on command but not on his own.  There are days when his eyes are open all day but he doesn't respond unless asked to something.  Larry, if you go to FB and his group site, there is a nice picture that Baxter took of Jacob, Sheree and her sister, Linda, just last Saturday.  Linda is Ivalou's DIL.  I imagine Baxter enjoyed a bed last night since he has been sleeping in Jacob's room in a chair for over a month...to save expenses.

There is a plane service near Indy called 'Grace on Wings'.  They flew Jacob to Atlanta on Good Friday and flew him back today free of charge!!  What a blessing for the Bolling family.  Baxter got to ride with him on the plane and the ambulance to the house.  Sheree and Linda brought back Jacob's chair Sunday from Atlanta.  They already had a hospital bed and Hoyer lift.  The local fire department has been notified that Jacob is home and will be visiting to see what his needs are in case they need to transport him anywhere.  Nurses will have to be on staff almost 24/7 since Baxter and Sheree have to continue working away from home...for insurance purposes and money.

Now it seems when Jacob wakes up, he can return to Shepherd Center for rehab.  I am praying that he wakes up NOW so he can return to Shepherd Center and get his rehab. 

This accident was March 8th...soon to be 5 months! 

I slept good last night except now I have a sore throat and I think, sinus drainage.  I have been sniffing and blowing since I got up and my throat is sore.  And I dreamed of Jacob last night and everyone telling him to wake up! 

Today is Fundraiser Day for the Bolling family at Applebee's.  Ivalou and I are going at 1:30pm.  The lunch crowd should be back to work by then! 

Other than some TV and reading...that is it for today!

I just got a message from Judy:

"I am still without phone service and internet. I was surprised to be able to get onto CP on my phone. I need someone to tell the membership on thoughts that I will be back ASAP. To top it all off my main puter is down, won't turn on. If Larry has any idea what it could be....... He could let me know on FB. I think he is a FB friend. I'm really bummed out at this!("

I've been checking the posts here and praying for people but haven't written anything. Somehow, my life has been very busy. I retired the end of June, and had several retirement celebrations to go to. We had to pack all of our office building up before I retired because it was all getting moved the following week, so this made the time even busier.

My Dad is now doing his dialysis at night. There is a machine in his room that he hooks everything up to - he started last week, so is just getting used to it. This should free him up during the day. He was having to do his dialysis 4 times a day, so hopefully, he will feel some freedom. He's hoping to come and visit us soon.

My SIL passed away last week. It has been difficult for my husband - this is his brother's wife, and neither she nor his brother know the Lord. There is going to be a Celebration of Life on August 18th for her.

We've had our grandchildren (6 of them) and their parents here a lot this summer - one way they are all trying to beat the heat  This has kept us busy - I'm not on my computer very often. I can check email and websites with my phone, but typing is not as easy.

My niece is getting married in a week's time, and I'll be the photographer for the wedding. I don't think the summer is going to be any quieter. 

Hi everyone.  I am praying for Jacob, Larry and his wife Pat, Judy's computer situation, and Betty's brother-in-law and his family.


I fell here at home on the 23rd of July, and have been off work since. My right knee and ankle are quite swollen, and the bruising in between is extensive and far from pretty!! 

Went to emerg Monday night, due to my ankle being sooo swollen (had not been swollen up until then).  I had a blood clot in the same leg many, many years ago, so the alarm bells started ringing and I thought it necessary to have it looked at.  It was 5 hours before I was sent into an exam area, and another 3 before I was sent home to freshen up.  Had to return to the hospital for an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed no evidence of a blood clot, deep vein or otherwise.  Praise the Lord!!

My employer is telling me that I cannot go on vacation, which had been previously approved. Their reasoning...my doctor sent them a note stating I would be able to return to work on the 13th of August, even though my vacation overlapped that date (August 11th through the 22nd).  They said I would have to take it as an extension of my medical leave...an unpaid extensioin.  I had previously requested that my vacation pay be deferred to the week of my vacation, rather than being paid out in May.

My union rep told me that my medical leave and my vacation are two different entities, and that my employer has to honor my pre-approved vacation.  I relayed that information to my supervisor.

Please pray for my physical health, as well as my vacation.

Hi everyone.  We are to have another really hot day here in the Atlanta area.  I am just home from coffee.  Pat is at the doctor's office to have the staples removed from the knee incision.  Our DIL drove her downtown.  I am thankful I didn't have to take her today as seem to not have much energy, which may be due to the heavy air.  Pat didn't sleep well last night so know she will be tired when she gets back.  Our DIL will be heading back to her home in North Augusta, SC when they get back.  She has her car pretty well packed.  We have really appreciated her coming and helping us both these several days and she has told us she has enjoyed the opportunity to spend significant time with us.  Nothing else is on the schedule for today.

Etta Sue, thanks for the update on Jacob.  What an ordeal for his parents and probably a lot more to come.  I can't even imagine what demands they will be facing.  Hope you had a good meal at Appleby's.  We always enjoy eating there.

Jeanne, thanks for posting the message from Judy.  I can comment to Judy on Facebook.  It sounds like the power supply may have burnt out if the computer won't come on at all. 

Betty, good to hear from you.  I would think your dad doing the dialysis at night would be beneficial.  Is he able to fall asleep while that is occurring?  Is this now done just once a day rather than four times a day?  Condolences to your husband and you on the passing of his SIL.  It sounds like you have had a busy summer with grandchildren.

Bonnie, falls are so frightening especially as we get a bit older.    Glad you didn't have a blood clot.  Going to the ER is an experience that is not soon forgotten.  Hope you get the vacation situation ironed out at your work.

Betty:  Now that you are retired, time will just fly by each and every day. 

Bonnie:  I hope you get time off what you deserve - those rules and regulations are sometimes written in stone    Glad that you do not have a blood clot.  We have the same problems with emergency at times and now fewer doctors on the horizon.

I was out for the regular early morning walk when it is still fresh and cool.  Have an audio book now that is about early Denver and will end up in Alaska.  This state was really rough with a rough crowd.  Lawless. 

Good for Chick -Fil -- !  Love the response.  Hobby Lobby is closed on Sunday as well. 

I feel awful.  I am seldom sick but I am today!  Other than coughing, sneezing, blowing I am fine.  I slept late and then slept some more in the recliner.  I took some cold tablets around 3pm and feel somewhat better.  So just got back from the CVS with more cold tablets! 

I feel like I have been run over by a Mac truck!

Hello everyone. I had to go to the Podiatrist this afternoon to have  and ingrown toenail removed, he removed a portion of the nail then  used some acid to kill that part from ever growing back. This is the second time on the same toe and the 3rd ingrown nail this year. I have to soak it twice a day and put Silvadene cream and Hydracortizone the bandage it will take about 5 weeks to heal properly. but i can still do my walking and exercising every day..

I was here earlier and read all the posts, but just didn't have anything to say.  (WHAT??  You are asking....but, yes, that does happen occasionally, believe it or not!)

Like Carol, I went out to walk in the early morning when it was fresh and cool.  Later, I called several area Rotary clubs to set up speaking engagements!  Not one turned me down! 

Then, still later, I went to talk to the director of the Legacy, then the director of the Assisted Living place, to ask them if they approve of my doing the series on the residents.  They are both on board with it.....then to the Newspaper office to tell them I am ready to start and ask for a header, graphics of some kind that will be used each week, so the articles will be easy to recognize.

After lunch at the Senior Center, I went back to the Legacy and did my first interview.  It was a bit "iffy" as the lady isn't as sharp mentally as she was only several weeks ago.  She kept drifting off topic and I had to keep bringing her back, but we got it done.  I will type it up and go back and read it to her, see if she has any additions or corrections.  She couldn't even remember the year she was born!  I expect I might run into this type of problems more than once with this project, but still feel it is worth the effort.

ETTA SUE!!  YOU aren't supposed to be sick!  I do hope you will feel all better again in the morning.  Summer colds are the pits!

I'm reading a fascinating book that describes the times in which we are living so well it is spooky.  It is about Iran, Israel and the USA.  So I am going to read some more!  See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone.  Going to be another hot day (so what is new) here in the Atlanta area.  They had rain last night in areas around us but we had none.  Pat got her staples removed from her knee yesterday (32 of them).  She finally had a good nights sleep last night but is very shaky today.  She will have rehab this afternoon.  I did go to coffee at the senior center this morning and other than a quick trip to the Kroger Pharmacy I plan on staying home today.  I checked on the price of nitrostate at Costco and then called our local Kroger pharmacy and they will price match and that will save me a few dollars.  I am finding I need to use it more now than I have for a long time. 

Carol, our local Chick-Fil-A were packed with supporters a couple of days ago.  It will be interesting to see what the turnout is today. 

Etta Sue, it sounds like you need a lot of rest to help fight the cold or whatever is attacking you. 

Marilyn, several years ago I had the ingrown portion of  both big toe nails removed and had a special sandal they gave me to wear for awhile.  Glad you can still walk and exercise.

Janet, it sounds like your writing is really taking off.  I just read that there are now three books on the NY Best Seller list that have been self-published.  It sounds like you will experience some challenges with your interviews.
