JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

I voted earlier today.

Work went a LOT better today, and I am so thankful!

Well, the trip down South didn't work out. They're getting their home ready to put on the market, so it's all torn up and both of them are exhausted. He asked forgiveness for suggesting we not come, and I told him that birthdays are special days, of course, but that love isn't dispensed only on that day once a year. :D

So, called late this evening and he was practicing to sing for church tomorrow. Said they'd slept in and relaxed all day. So, they're feeling much better.

And, unexpectedly, my son who lives with me called while I was driving the shopping cart through WalMart to ask if I'd like to meet his new love interest. OF COURSE I WOULD!

So we met and enjoyed good conversation and they headed off together in one direction and I headed home. I've worked for 1 hour increments on that client's spreadsheet, then have rested 30 min, and started again. Have made progress, but it will be a "squeaker" if I can get it done by a week from Monday!

So good to hear from everyone today - y'all have a wonderful rest this evening and a great day with our Lord tomorrow.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Hi everyone.  I slept in later this morning but have now had my breakfast and sitting here ready to leave for church in about an hour.  We went out to eat with a couple of our friends last evening to the Golden Corral and had a delicious meal including steak, which was tender and tasty.

We then came back here and played a game of Hand and Foot (which is a Canasta variation).  The ladies beat the men last night.

Then Pat and I watched the last two episodes of season 5 of "Monarch of the Glen".  There are two more seasons to go and we are lined up to get them over the next few weeks.

Sarah, what do you mean things were dropped 4 times?  Moving is always a challenge.  Glad it is over for you.

Ruth Ann, I am sure you are disappointed in not being able to share your son's birthday this weekend but it is a healthy sign that he was comfortable letting you know they just weren't up for the visit.  This will also give you a little more time to not be rushed.

Janet, glad to read of your decision to take better care of yourself and glad that you day went better yesterday.

Marilyn, nice to hear from you and have a safe trip home today.  I expect those dogs will be really happy to see you but it sounds like they were well taken care of.

Nita, it is nice when there are days to sit outside.  I just heard on the news that after today we are to have a few cooler and less humid days so we should be able to use our screened in porch a little more.  My friends and I have been walking each morning this past week in the little city park and it has been very nice.  The church was having Bible School so the gym really wasn't available for walking.

Etta Sue, your grass won't grow more than an inch or so overnight.  Hope you don't lose your lawnmower in the tall grass.  :)

I just spoke to our daughter using Skype.  It was very clear and gives us a second path of communication other than the Magic Jack or her prepaid cellphone.

Hope this turns out to be a wonderful day of the Lord for everyone.

Janet

Sarah, is this a mobile home or a HOUSE your family moved?  If a house, were you able to move it in one piece?  How did they drop it?  Sounds like a nerve wracking experience to me, glad it is over.

Ruth Ann, if your son has a new love interest, that sounds as if his physical and mental condition has greatly improved.  I hope that is the case.

Larry, you do stay busy, don't you?

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here today!!  Not hot, no wind, just a perfect day.  And what a great one for Scuba lessons....I had intended to go to church, was dressed and ready, Darrel called to say he had forgotten something he needed, so I took that to him......then Diane and Abby showed up......well, anyway, I never made it to church at all this morning.  Abby is taking the Scuba class, and did really well.  The only thing that scared her, and she didn't do, was a backward roll off the diving board.  But she did a giant stride off it--twice!

Darrel took Diane, Abby and I to lunch, then Diane went home, leaving Abby here with us for a day or two.  She needs to go over her test answers with the instructor. (Darrel.)

I will probably be back later, just now, I feel a little nap coming to claim me!

There must have been some rain last night.  I saw lots of water in fields and low places and several limbs down in the roadways on my way to church.

When I left for church this morning, the sky was cloudless.  I went to first service and discovered that a missionary from Thailand was preaching all four sermons today...whew!!  So I didn't stay for the second service.  When I came out of church, the sky was covered with dark clouds.

It sprinkled on me a few times on my way to Pendleton where I ate breakfast.  Then a few more sprinkles on the way home.

I stayed here for about an hour and then went to the local Fire Department to get my picture taken (my donation resulted in a portait setting).  Then to WalMart.  Still cloudy!

I wish I had brought a boy home with me to carry in all that I bought.  Wears me out doing that.  Still cloudy.

I then balanced my checkbook with my bank statement.  It seems this old lady forgot to enter my retirement check May 30.  The check is direct deposited but I forgot to put it in my register!!  I was wondering all month where my money went!!  So I was watching what money I did spend.  So I came out ahead two ways!!  Seems lately every bank statement I find mistakes that I have made and I try my best to check and double check!!  I need a secretary!!

Still no rain....

Finally quiet here, we had people coming by as a few things were for sale.  No naps today.  Waiting for one of our real estate agents to call.  We continue to pack boxes and give things away.  Giving my sewing serger to a gal from another church who is making things for their Kenya mission.  She cried and I had tears but it just didn't sell and this is where it was meant to go and be used for Good Works.  Anyway, her hugs were really nice.

Larry:  We use SKYPE all of the time - Don has hearing problems and that way to communicate is much clearer.

Ruth Ann:  Nice news about the son who lives with you - he sounds very tender hearted and sweet.  I hope this is a good friend or more for him, good for him for sure.

Etta Sue:  LOL on you having to look after your house and yourself.  You take it in good humor.  There are things here that I just can't do without Don helping and now that we will move closer to the boys, it will be great to have their comforting care and not even have to ask for it.  My aunt used to say that she was never lonely, that she always had Jesus with her and I think that is the most security anyone can have.

Pat:  We have been keeping to the To Do list a lot lately and it seems like not a day is free ever since we decided to put the place on the market.  How about you?  Did you move a lot of stuff?  Sorry about that laptop.  What is happening - isn't there a house being built?  That is stress for sure.

Marilyn:  Glad to see you back.  Take care.

Alright - back to things here.

Samantha

Karmat, I just saw on the internet news about the boy getting killed at the airshow in Huntsville.  Are you and your family all right?  Immediately I thought of y'all.  Please let us know how you all are.

Hi everyone else.  We are hanging in there.  Keep us in your prayers.

Carol, you posted while I was typing :)

I can understand this, Carol .... I'm the same!  I live alone, my two daughters are equally distant from me: one in Spokane, WA and the other in Sacramento, CA (soon to be returning to Mexico) so I have absolutely no one BUT the Lord.  He has taken good care of me for a very long time, and I don't expect that to change any time soon.   ;)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!
