JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

No at work.  Kass is at home though.  Want my work #?

Janet

Powerful Scripture in the sidebar today!  Thanks.

Pat, are you sore from the volleyball game?  I probably would be.

Judy, I guess those who abuse their sewing machines get to pay the cost of the repairs!  I feel the same about those who abuse their paint brushes!  So I teach them how to take care of them, and then add, "But if you want to abuse them, I will be really happy to sell you some new ones!"  :)  Any job is so much easier with the right, and good quality tools!

I'm going to watch Abby in her drama program this afternoon at 5:00.  Diane says Abby is doing a monologue.  She is staying busy baby-sitting those four kids.  At ten years old, that's a LOT of responsibility for her, but I guess she's doing a good job and the Mom is pleased with her.

I have my little painting class this afternoon, will have to cut it short by 15 minutes in order to get to Abby's program on time.

Kitty and I had a great time in Shipshewana.  Soon after we got there and were walking in the aisles, it started raining.  We got soaked.  Then an Oriental lady said she had raincoats for a $1.  A great purchase!  After lunch it quit raining.  So we walked, looked, bought and finally decided to head back south to get home.  I didn't find my whole dried sweet corn though.  Now I need to find someone local that raises sweet corn and I will dry it myself.  It rained all the way home.  Well, it would stop and I would turn off the wipers and then it would start again.

When we got to Kitty's, I helped her on her computer.  She had to have the Geek Squad out to work on her $2500 new computer in April.  They replaced her hard drive.  But they charged her for replacing some software.  But Norton was trying to tell her to upgrade.  She didn't want Norton.  She wanted MicroTrend, I think.  So I showed her how to uninstall everything about Norton.  Then we installed MicroTrend.  But it was a 1-time DVD.  So she upgraded for three years.  Then it wouldn't finish installing.  We found a number and called.  Waited 20 minutes and then she was told they were closing for the day!!!  I told her to check her emails.  Sure enough an email from MicroTrend had approved her credit card and told her how to finish installing.  So at least, she has an anti-virus program now.

I didn't get home until after 9pm and put everything away.  I was soooo tired after all the walking and getting up at 5am.

Bright and sunny today and the radio said it will be the hottest and most humid day so far.  I am staying inside!!

Hi everyone.  It was a beautiful morning here in Georgia.  After coffee we went walking a the local park and it was glorous outside.  The sun was under an overcast sky and it was relatively cool, although a bit humid.  I came home and a friend came over at 9:45 to work with me on something and we spent the morning sitting on the screened in porch.  By the time we finished it was getting rather warm.  I am now eating my lunch, then must run to Kroger to pick up some medications and then will rest for a bit.  Don't have anything else on the schedule for today.

Janet, nice to read of you doing some fun things that you are truly enjoying.  I know you are looking forward to Abby's performance and your presence will be very important to her.

Judy, people abusing their sewing machines is what helps create your job.

Etta Sue, it is a shame your friend had to pay so much for the Geek Squad as her computer should be under warranty if she just bought it.  I don't blame her for wanting to get rid of Norton's.  I haven't liked that program since I used it several years ago and had a really difficult time getting it all off my computer.

Time to head to Krogers.

Well, it's good to hear y'all chatting this afternoon. I'm home to do a bit for a future client, but wanted to bring greetings from Nashville.

Y'all have a good evening.

Howdy ya'll from Hunstville, AL.  We Shufords are on our vacation right now.  We drove down today (about 6 hours) and plan to go to the Space Museum and Botanical Gardens tomorrow, and an airshow featuring the US Navy's Blue Angels.  My kids are totally stoked.

I, however, am near exhaustion.  :)

Hi everyone.  Will check in this morning before I start, what I expect to be, a very busy day.

I am leaving from coffee at the senior center and will go to Kaiser to give blood for a series of blood tests my new doctor wanted.

Then I am going to go to MicroCenter and buy our daughter a LCD flat monitor tha weighs only 7.5 pounds and is a 17" widescreen.  Her monitor is hardly readable and I just don't feel like trying to drag a big CRT montior down and get it into her apartment.  She is going to move to a different apartment around the 1st of November and it would have to be moved again.  I have been busy the last couple of days refortmatting and installing software and setting up my old computer that I am taking to her.  It is a much better computer than the one she is using and we hope it will let her use the Magic Jack VOIP telephone system more effectively.

I will take all this down to her and set it up for her and then we will go out to lunch--just a little father and daughter time.

That will be enough for one day as it is about a 2 hour round-trip down to her apartment and back home.

We had some thunder last evening but no rain.  There are storms possible again this afternoon.  They have announced that our county is in a severe drought and it just doesn't seem to get any better.

Karmat, hope you all have a wonderful vacation in Huntsville.

Ruth Ann, it sounds like you are lining up work to do after you retire.  Don't forget to save some time for yourself in all your plans.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Etta Sue

Where is everyone?  Not many posts since I posted last.  Hmmm!  Hope the storms hasn't done damage to computers or worse.

Not much happening here today.  Still being lazy and reviving since all the walking at the Flea Market in Shipshewana, IN.

Another bright and sunny day.  We did have a terrible storm come through yesterday afternoon.  The winds turned over my bistro table with umbrella.  But nothing broken.

Hello Everyone from Virginia!

Oh, my!  It's hot here.  It's in the 90's!  Paul has quite the "scientific heat control" program going on in this house with one A/C and many fans and it's quite livable in this house right now.

He's busy doing some tax work and then we'll get busy doing more of the house "de-cluttering" that needs to be done before the next step.

Yes, Judy, we had a great time playing volleyball.  The girls want me to be on their team the next time!  HAHAHA!   (Haven't played volleyball since highschool).

Sounds like a nice time, Larry with Stacey.  Sounds like a nice monitor.  Did I tell you I broke my laptop screen?  I am sick about it as I've never had such a good laptop before but too expensive to fix.  I got up rather quickly to check on something in the kitchen for Paul and it fell off the footstool about 8 inches to the floor onto a very thick carpet and now I have a crack in my screen.  It is a triangular-shaped crack running from about 3 1/2 inches from the right on the bottom to about 4 inches up the right side.

:(

Hi, there, friends,

I'm home early to work on that consulting project again. But, of course, just had to come to this comfortable home to check in. :)

Y'all have a great day and a wonderful weekend. The dog, my son and I will be headed to Atlanta to celebrate that son's 43rd birthday. Hope all goes well for everyone.

Pat, I'm so sorry about your computer screen!

:)  Good afternoon to all.  It is very warm and humid here also.

Pat.  Sorry to here about your lap top is it still working.  Say hi to Paul.

Larry:  You sound like you are so busy but I do hope that your daughter is feeling better and you are such a good dad to her. May the Lord bless you.

Etta Sue:  Hope that you are well and look after yourself.

Colin: I read that you are not feeling so good you are retired so take it easy and don't overdo things.  God Bless.

We are going to have our grandkids around this weekend as it is my daughters birthday so that should be fun.

Well to everyone else on C.P. have a wonderful weekend and may the Lord richly bles you all. :coffee:

It's still working, Ruth Ann and Gord.  Hope it stays that way as I certainly can't afford to get a new one and I'd certainly be lost without my laptop.

I'm glad your laptop still works, Pat.

Pat

Yes, that is good Scotty but it sure doesn't show photos very well with the big crack across it.

Too bad about it not showing photos very well.

Good evening.  I had a busy day, first really, really good, then later really, really bad.  So I will only give you the good part. :-X

This morning I entered the county Senior Spelling Bee---and I won!  So I will have my expenses paid to go to the State Senior Bee in October!  Cool, huh?  8)

My feet and other parts of my anatomy are hurting so bad, so off to bed I go!  See you another day.

Carol

Welcome to newcomers!

Janet:  Congratulations on winning the Spelling Bee!  Hope that you soak your feet tonight.  Take care.

We don't have any free time anymore - this act of selling and buying a house is unreal.  Meanwhile, there are ten duck eggs by our front walkway being tenderly cared for by one of God's lovely Mallard creatures.  She is a calm and beautiful mom-to-be and is used to my voice.

Don is tired to the extreme every night so it is good that we are moving to be closer to the children.  Many weeks before this is finished.  My best to all.

Pat

Congratulations, Janet!  That's a great finish in that Spelling Bee.

Carol, so nice to see you.  Sorry you are so busy these days.

Hi everyone.  I have about 5 minutes before needing to leave to pick up my friend to go to coffee.  Can't be late for coffee you know as will never have this day again and I might miss something if I were late.  :)

I had have a very successful day yesterday.  After coffee I stopped and left 5 vials of blood for various tests.  I got the results last night and while not all within the ranges, the reading seem to be close so don't think there is anything for concern or that I hadn't already known.

I then went to Fry's to look at a 19" monitor they had advertised.  They didn't have one setup and made no effort to do so.  Obviously, I moved on and went to MicroCenter and bought the 17" widescreen monitor I had seen previously.  I then went to my daughter's apartment and set up the computer and the new monitor.  It really wasn't much of a job.  I then worked on getting some of the software set up such as Skype so we have an alternate way of speaking to her rather than the Magic Jack.

She and I went to a Ryan's for lunch and enjoyed a nice quiet father/daughter time.  Unfortunately, she is very tired and wasn't feeling very well.  I left a little after 2 pm and came home.

Pat, not good news on your laptop.  Sure glad it is still working.

Carol, any move is a lot of work and the older we get the worse it becomes.

Janet, congratulations on your winning the spelling bee.  I have always been able to spell fairly well but sure wouldn't want to enter a spelling bee.  I know you did it last year and enjoyed it so glad you had the ultimate success this year and good luck on your state efforts.

Gord, thanks for you kind words.

Ruth Ann, it is nice you are close enough to your son to make the weekend trip to help celebrate his birthday.  It will give you a chance to get your new PT Cruiser out on the highway.

Etta Sue, you all have been having more than your share of rough storms.  Glad you had nothing broken.

Etta Sue

Good morning.  It is gray outside right now.  Looks like rain any minute.  And I was wanting to mow the lawn today instead of tomorrow after church.   ???

Pat ~ So sorry about your laptop and I will be anxiously awaiting to hear from you.

Gord ~ I am fine and well.  I try my best to take care of myself...no one else in this house will.   ;D

Raining....just started.

As I was reading my devotions this morning, Ali and Inky were watching Kitty TV and were really looking at something and trying their best to get to it.  I stood up and two cute little chipmunks were playing on the planter.  They weren't afraid at all!!

Good morning from the Oregon coast.  God was so lavishly generous when he created our beautiful state.

It's glorious out already.  Lots of sunshine and perfect weather for sitting outside or mowing or whatever.

I sat outside yesterday, but I've not been feeling well since Wednesday.  I woke up with a sore throat and it hasn't gone away.  I sound much worse than I feel, but it sure zaps my energy.  I thought I was over it yesterday morning, but by afternoon I was Ms. Froggy again.  I'm thinking today is the day to get my strength back and my voice clear. :)

Last night I tried to record a song onto the computer with my new little keyboard.  It isn't actually little (full size keys)but is entry level. That's all I could afford, and just wanted something to sit and play worship songs for the Lord. (He likes that. I like that too. :))  Anyway, I'm using N-Track to record and try to lay down some tracks with different instruments.  We'll see.  Always fun to play with music.

Larry, I'm glad for you that you had that time with your daughter even if it was shortened by her not feeling well.  You are such a good father.  Your love and concern for her weave all through your posts.  I'm sure she'll make good use of the computer setup you have for her.

I voted in the new photo challenge! :)

Now to go sit out in the sunshine and get my vitamin D.

Have a very blessed day, everyone.  Nita

Al Moak

I really like your way of expressing that, Nita - He IS "lavishly generous" in creating the beautiful Oregon Coast.  I can truly, truly attest to that.  Praise the great Artist!

Janet

Pat, sorry about your poor laptop screen.  :(

Larry, I agree with the statement about your being such a good Dad.  I'm sure that weaves all through your life, and that you are appreciated as husband, Dad, friend, etc. etc.  That's 'cause you're just such a nice person.  ;)

Carol, sorry you and Don are so stressed out with the house dealings.  I can only imagine!  I hope you can take care of yourselves, so you make it through with no major health damage.

Abby gave me her favorite kitten the other night, very gentle one.  We thought Dinah needed a playmate.  Well....they didn't like each other at all.  I had to work yesterday, and put the kitten in the garage, and we haven't seen it since.  I hope it turns up soon and is all right.  I have hunted and called, hunted and called.  Dinah comes running, but no kitten.  :(

Oh, how I wish I didn't have to work today.  We attended the funeral and are home again, and I am still feeling really tired, and feet and legs still hurting.  I have decided to find the boss on Monday and give her my notice.  I do not like going from feeling great nearly all the time to this, and it certainly is not worth it.

Darrel stated teaching his Scuba class last night.  He has eight students this time.

I'm still using it though.

Hope you all vote in the challenge folks!
