Carol isn't that the way of all the ;politicians. they don't seem to care about the business owners these days.

Larry we really don't need all the rain but it just part of living in Oregon it happens every year.

I've had a fairly busy day of just doing busy things around the house, Made bread, went to the gym and health food store, stripped the bed, did laundry made homemade laundry detergent and homemade spicy mustard, Then made a new graphic, and home made dressing for supper. the dressing and the check are both cooking right now.

Jeanne I am glad to her you got mor gas and your furnace going, I sure don't like being cold.

Janet I do agree with you that it hs been a long winter, I am looking forward to the time change as it will be light longer, I will still have to take the dogs out in the dark first thing in the morning though

Hi Don and whoever else check in today/this evening\.

Hi, friends,

I'm about ready to head for bed, but wanted to come here for a bit of soul refreshment.

It's so interesting to read all the comments since I last felt like coming to the computer. This ole virus is a stinker - it goes and comes at will, and when it's around, all I can do is be in bed. :(

Today was a good day, so I've done some things and now am plenty tired.

Y'all have a good rest of the day with our Lord.

Good morning!  I slept until 7:30 this morning!  :o  Wow!  I guess I must have needed it--well, I know I did, after two really short nights' sleep.  Darrel left Jeanie and me at the Golden Corral in Garden City where we met the folks who came on the bus, ate supper, then attended the concert.  It was John Berry, and WOW, what a voice he has==really amazing talent.  He was a huge admirer of John Denver, and can sound exactly like him!  He also sang acappela   O Holy Night--powerful!  I was glad I went.

We are now stocked up on wonderful fresh fruits and vegetables so can eat healthy for some days again.  :)

Jeanie, I am so glad you now have heat again!  That is very necessary during these cold days. The price of gas for heating is terrible this winter.  Darrel pre-buys ours, so we got the remaining 200 gallons he had ordered at $1.50 per gallon (propane) but if he hadn't pre-ordered, it would have been over $4.00!  That is a huge difference!  And we wonder if it will ever go down again, as gasoline hasn't.

Carol, hope you got hold of a dentist and got the crown replaced.  Good to hear you had a good trip home.

Larry, always good to hear from you.  I wish I had the patience you have in dealing with life.  You always inspire me!

Yesterday, I was down to the weight I was in 2007!  :cheer: :excited:  That was on our home scale.  Today I will have Kristi weigh me and see if her scale agrees.

Time to go work out, then I get two days off, and I feel like I need it!

Marilyn, I dislike the daylight savings time--a lot!  Why do men think they know more than God?  :idiot:

Don

It's wet here this morning, we got about 2" of rain last night, water is standing as it was already wet. High today of 48 with wind and then the warm up is on, up to 63 for Saturday. I'm ready for it.

Glad you didn't have furnace problems Jeanne, it's bad enough to have to buy gas. :yikes:

Carol a drive in the desert would be nice, I've only had that opportunity one time and I really enjoyed it. As for what is happening in you brothers town I will not even go there. Sorry to hear this is happening though.

Marylin it sounds like you had a busy day. I sure would like to have some of that home made dressing. :)

Ruth Ann I hope you feel better and can get rid of the virus. :thumbsup2:

Janet I'm glad you slept well last night, we all need a good nights rest sometimes.

Oh I almost forgot, Our local Gideon's chapter had a dinner for pastors last night and I was invited. Had a great dinner and a good speaker from the Suffolk Va. chapter. These men do a great job in getting God's word out. Its always good to be able to spend time with God's people.

Have a Great and Blessed day everyone.

Oh My I just re-read last evenings post and I said the Dressing and the check were cooking at that tine. that was supposed to be chicken no check.  I think I really need to proofread what I type.    :idiot:

The weather has changed just for today, the sunshine is so beautiful and the temp is 55°, that's what I call warm here in Oregon, it is supposed o start raining again tomorrow for the weekend. Oh the joy of living in Oregon (on the coast) the weather can change at the drop of your hat and be cold and wet again.

Well Don If you lived closer you and your family could come for supper. Aren't you in NC?  or somewhere thereabouts?

Larry my son Ron is working for the next two years at a Nuclear plant in Georgia, I don't remember the name of the place. It is near Augusta.

Hi everyone.  After a cold and rainy day the sun is now shining and it looks like we will have nicer weather through the weekend.  I went to coffee at the Senior Center and when I got home I took my SIL to Kohl's so she could get a few little gifts to take to her great grandchildren.  While there I got Pat some socks that she wanted.  The muscle relaxants are keeping Pat's back muscle spasm at bay.  I just had the call that the new washer should be delivered in the next 30 minutes.

We had a very nice meal with our friends last night and they brought a very tasty meal.  We are suppose to get our new washer delivered this afternoon.  We went to our favorite Mexican restaurant for lunch and it was good.

While I was resting I read the posting since my last post and it looks like everyone is doing pretty well, perhaps with the exception of Mahlia and the terrible head pain.  Jeanne, glad you got the tank filled as 52 degrees is really too cold.

I am going to pass on individual comments for today as yesterday and today I have felt really tired and think it is just the last month catching up to me and it has been another busy week. Next week life should return to normal and hopefully calmer days.

Carol

Don:  How nice that you were invited to the Gideon's dinner.  Are you a pastor or it sounds like a big supporter of pastors and the Word?

Larry:  For sure, you and Pat deserve some "down time" after all you have been through.  Try to pamper yourselves.  It isn't easy but so important to relax.  Getting a new washing machine - what fun for you.  I hope it is all it is meant to be.

I had a dickens of a time getting a dentist and must return on Monday for the lst. session - a temp is in now.  I am not kidding when I say this is about the price of a used car.  No one else was available so this was my choice unless we would drive to Mexico and believe me, I tried to talk Don into driving me down there.  This office actually employs a Financial Consultant so you know a chunk of the bill goes directly to that smooth talking young man.  Things have changed so much in our world, it boggles my mind.  I can figure the finances out - we pay extra for all the fru fru in the place.

We stopped at Costco and bought a couple of things for a few easy meals for the weekend.  Our neighbors at home were supposed to come next week but lo and behold, they have made an offer on a house south of Tucson.  He is an artist and that community appeals to him.  I wonder if they will move from Colorado to Arizona now.  It sure gets hot in that area.  Daughter and our grandson are driving from Okenagan area in  British Columbia tomorrow to their home in Colorado with a truck full of his gear.

Janet:  Once, we went to a musical in a barn and the members of John Denver's band played - someone sang and it was fantastic for me to listen.  "Rocky Mountain High"....... now, that could mean something else especially lately.

Hi, friends,

Day 2 of feeling better! Maybe that virus has run its course. 'Twil be wonderful when that's confirmed. :)

Today was busy - a meeting at church with a database assignment (Larry, you'll empathize with me after the work you did for years for the senior center), lunch with friends, 2 hours of physical therapy (I'm so grateful, I was able to do the NuStep for 13 minutes with over 700 steps - with the bursitis and also that ruined ankle tendon, I didn't think that much would ever occur), then on home to speak with my son who is overseas. Their power must have gone out - we only got to speak about 20 seconds and then were disconnected. Now, I'm grateful that I'll be able to rest as quickly as I leave the computer for the evening.

Y'all have a good rest of the day.

Hi everyone.  It is really a beautiful day here in Georgia with clear skies, no wind and it is to get up into the lower 70's today. Pat and her sister just left to go out for breakfast.  I had already had breakfast.  I plan on a quiet day today.  We did get the new washer delivered yesterday and now Pat has to figure out all of the buttons and controls. It has a stainless steel tub and has no agitator as such.

Ruth Ann, it sounds like you are doing well on the NuStep.  Were you speaking to your son who lives in England?  I don't envy you the database assignment and sure am glad I no longer have that responsibility, although generally I did enjoy it while I was doing it.

Carol, dental work is certainly expensive.  Do you have to have a new crown?  I wish we had a nearby Costco as understand their food is very good.

Janet

Good morning!  I was supposed to go to my painting meeting today, but when I got up it was very cold and snowing.  We only got maybe 2 to 3 inches, but happy to have it.  Anyway, I called my friend and backed out of going today, just didn't seem worth it to me.

My friend who is on dialysis had to spend a week in the Wichita hospital, had surgery for a really bad infection at the site of the tube they use for her dialysis.  I went over last night to take them some food, and she doesn't look good at all.  And her poor husband is barely hobbling around on a cane, as his knee is giving out.  They are both very discouraged and down.  I tried to encourage them, but it's been a long road for them.  I asked what I can do to help, and they said, "Keep praying."  Which I am doing, of course.

Carol, sorry about the awful expense to get the crown replaced.  When I went for my cleaning they found a small cavity, so I have to go back for a filling.  It's really unbelievable how much they charge for everything. I can understand why many people just don't go to the dentist!

Ruth Ann, glad to hear you are on the mend!  Praise God.

Larry, good idea to take it easy and just rest, you and Pat both need and deserve that.

Marilyn, I wondered why you were baking a check!     I always proofread my posts, that's just me.  But I do get a grin out of those bloopers we sometimes make!  ;)

I'm going over to Pat's house at 10:30 so she can do my hair.  She was gone all last week to Lubbock to visit her mother, and also her kids and grandkids.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Hi folks Home again after another week out there on the road. Went to Rochester at the beginning of the week and then down to Maryland near Washington DC for the second trip of the week. Had good weather this week and warmer down in Maryland. That was nice for a change. Had an interesting experience in PA. Was follow a line of trucks down the highway when all of a sudden there was this big cloud of dust that everyone was going into. When I got to the cloud of dust I discovered that one of the trucks blew a front steer tire and lost control and ended up in the ditch. Boy that brought back some memories of a couple of summers ago when I blew a steer tire, but with the Lords help got it safely stop on the shoulder of the road. Everything appeared to be OK. Just a bruised ego. Just reminds me just how fast everything can change out there on the highways. The weather has got somewhat better here on the home front and am hoping to get some outdoor stuff done this time home. Going to run for now folks Will be back later this weekend. Blessings everyone.

Hi everyone.  The household is up and my SIL is getting ready to leave this morning.  We will head to the subway station about 8 am.  She will get to the airport early but prefers that rather than cutting it close.  I should be home by 10 am and then be able to get to church on time.  That will be the major activity for today unless we decide to go out to lunch but that will depend on how Pat is feeling.  I did get my garage door opener fixed and new springs.  I also had maintenance done on them.

Janet, if the weather was bad you probably made a very good decision to not go to your painting meeting.  Too bad your friends are feeling so poorly and so down.  Our attitude has a lot to do with how we feel or at least get through each day.  With our insurance mess I won't be surprised if a lot of people just do not go to the doctor either as even with insurance many people will have huge deductibles and co-pays.

Ruth Ann, a memory lapse on my part as I know you have mentioned that your son had moved back from England and also your other son had moved to the Philippines.  Senior moment.

John, glad you are back home safely and it wasn't your truck with the blown tire.

Janet

I am home on Sunday morning, and that's unusual.  We went to church at our church last night and I had planned to go to Hugoton and attend there this morning with my "kids" but when I called them, there was no answer.  So I called Jeff (son-in-law) on his cell and learned they are in Oklahoma City!  Abby's dance troupe has a contest there this afternoon.  So I am staying home and will go try to get a good start on clearing out my closet, something I have been putting off for too long.

The weather is lovely today and all our beautiful snow has melted and soaked into the ground.  Thank you, God!  :)

I hope each of you has a wonderful day with our Lord!

Carol

Don turned all the clocks forward - then, I reminded him that Arizona doesn't go on DST.   :D  Now I have to pay attention to what time I call home.

Janet:  I am clearing, cleaning and doing laundry because most of this week is "booked" with Don's cousins from the Minneapolis area arriving - actually today.  They stay somewhere else.  Crown appt. tomorrow.  Yes, the old crown was not good so they say.

We are in the midst of decision making.

Talked with our three boys and they have finished working on our kitchen & so excited about how it turned out but they won't send a picture.   Yesterday, we saw the movie, "Son of God".  The acting is really good and the scenery and costumes so realistic.  Best of all, Don could understand the actors.

Marilyn

Carol with your review now I have had two, yours and another that said the movie didn't stick to scripture and to know your Bible. So now i still want to see the movie but will probably wait until either DVD or it comes on T.V. Since I have been working 3 days a week we are no onger able to go to the Senior movie of the month. I did see the other series when it was on  last year.

We are home from church the message was on Ephesians 5: 21-30 The music was great all song that I used to sing in the Church in McKinleyville,.

Hi, friends,

Today has been a good day - I enjoyed attending church, then eating with friends, then getting calls from loved ones, and now finally resting. :)

It seems, though, that I may be heading to bed early to try to get accustomed to this time change.
::)

Love to all,
