Morning Devotional...

Psalm 25

TODAY'S INSIGHT

Employee Stole From Employer

Sorrow without repentance is the kind that results in death (2 Corinthians 7:10, NLT).

Dear friends:

During one of my messages to a group of laymen, I emphasized, "We cannot get right with God until we confess our sins to Him and to others against whom we have sinned."

At the close of the sermon, a troubled young man ran up to me. "My employer is an unbeliever," he exclaimed. "I have talked to him many times about his need of Christ, but he scoffs and ridicules me. Now I realize why. I have been stealing materials from the plant where I work and what I have done is making me feel guilty and miserable. I know that I cannot have peace with God until I confess my theft of those materials and make restitution."

"That's right," I agreed. "We need to be sure that there is no unconfessed sin in our lives if we are to be effective in our Christian lives and witness."

A couple of days later, the young man joyfully approached me and announced, "I confessed my sin to God and to my employer, and when I admitted I took the materials and offered to pay for all that I had stolen, he was very moved and said, 'If Christianity makes a dishonest workman confess that he has been stealing, it's worth having!'"

That young man confessed his sin with the right motivation. It is not godly confession when celebrities write a book and describe all the steamy (and sinful) activities in their lives. They are interested in profits, not forgiveness. It is not godly confession when people describe to a psychiatrist their immoral lifestyle. They only want to feel good.

Godly repentance comes from a true sorrow about a wrong action. The Bible says, "Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret" (2 Corinthians 7:10, NIV).

In Hebrews chapter 12, verses 1 and 2, we are admonished to "let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith" (KJV).

Keeping short accounts with God by confessing our sins to Him, with a sincere heart, the moment the Holy Spirit reveals them to us, is vital to living a victorious, joyful and fruitful life for our Lord.

Yours for fulfilling the Great Commission each year until our Lord returns,

Bill Bright

I posted this on last weeks thread, but thought I'd do it on this one too.

Hi all, I need some photgraphic help.  Our pastors 70th birthday is this coming weekend and we are going to have a "roast" Sunday after church.

My job is to take a picture of him and crop his head onto a picture of Charles Atlas, the body builder.  I know, sounds strange, but our preacher has been lifting weights for the past year to stay in shape, and we kid him all the time.  He does not look like a 70 year old man!   Early 50's maybe.  Yet he talks a lot about Charles Atlas, and his wife kids him all the time, calling him Buff and things like that, (we have a lot of fun together!)  Which is why I have this project to do.

Can anyone recommend a free program that will do the job?  Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Samantha

This has been a quieter weekend.  We woke up to rain during the night, and the concern is icy roads.  The roads are really bad, and one neighbour ditched her car.  I drove her husband to help her.  It was really scarry driving.  Thankfully all busses were cancelled.  Even the township was waiting till daylight to sand the roads.

Well Back to work
God Bless JudyB

Pat

It rained here too, Judy and lots of ice!

Good Morning everyone. I went to  Calvary Chapel last evening the message was out of 2nd John. This pastor  gives his message 1 chapter at a time going verse by verse. Wonderful teaching.

Nothing else is new here. I only work 3 hours now so I get off at 11AM.

Hi Colin!  We, too, got snow last night, but not very much.  A lot of it melted, as it has been so warm here, but the ground is covered, anyway.  All moisture is appreciated!

Samantha, I am glad you moved your post to today.  I was going to do that if you didn't.  I have no advice or help to offer you, but others here are much more knowledgable, and they will help you, I'm quite sure.

We finally had our Seven for Dinner last evening after church. In our church, whoever wants to participate is put into groups of six (but we have seven) and then for three months, one couple has the others over for dinner, then the next month, the next couple, and so on.  At the end of the quarter, names are reshuffled and you are in a new group.  It's a really fun way to get acquainted better with some people you don't know well.  We have three of the girls from Youth Group in ours--they are eighth graders and a lot of fun.  Next month is their turn to host, and rather than us all going out to eat, Dutch treat (an option for the kids) they are going to cook it themselves!  They said last night they are going to make spaghetti and garlic bread.  :)

Darrel loves to cook, and he also loves to surprise people with foods they have never tried.  So here is our menu from last night:

Welcome to Damons' International Dinner!

               Menu
Costa Rican Seafood Soup
Darrel's Mushroom Chicken Breasts
Chinese Rice and Gravy
French Green Beans
Thailand Purple Sweet Potatoes
Japanese Peanuts

Beverage:  Mexican Jamaica

Dessert:  Jello Pudding Cake

I expect some of you are not familiar with some of those things either, so I will tell you what they are.  For the soup, he remembered while we were in Costa Rica, being served a bowl of seafood soup which had all kinds of seafood in it...even the shells!  It was good!  So he found a bag of mixed seafood at the Asian Market, containing, crab, octopus, clams, etc.  He made up his own recipe using that, and I must say, it was delicious!  And we were so proud of the kids, all but one ate it and liked it.  They were excited to be able to tell their friends and family about eating octopus!  ;)

For the side dishes to the chicken, Darrel cooked rice and made gravy.  I fixed French style green beans with lemon pepper.  We had also bought some sweet potatoes at the Asian Market.  They are white skinned, but are purple--yes, dark purple! inside, and very sweet.  Everyone liked those.  I had some Japonica peanuts which I just poured into a bowl for them to try.  They have a hard spicy coating on them and are a good snack.

I made Jamaica to drink.  We were served this on our trip to Northern Mexico and the Copper Canyon.  It is brewed from the dried hibiscus flowers, is such a pretty red color, and tastes so good!  I bought a big bag of the dried flowers while we were there.  It is pronounced Hamaica--long i.  ;)

And they liked the dessert, too.  TMI?  Oh, well, now you know everything!

Good morning!!  It is Monday, again.  where does time go?   Straight to yesterday, I suppose.

Not a lot going on here. We are having some absolutely, stunningly beautiful weather.  It was gorgeous yesterday.  And very nice today as well.  We may have to spend some time outside this afternoon!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is another gorgeous day in Georgia but rain and perhaps storms are suppose to be on the way.  I have to drive downtown to have my pacemaker checked tomorrow and that is suppose to be when it is raining.  Maybe it will have slacked off by the time I have to leave.

After coffee this morning my friend Rod and I went walking at the Methodist Church gym.  We are going to try to do this every weekday, if possible.  I walked 25 laps in several segments and he walked a few more.  After about 5 laps I sat down and rested for a couple of laps.  It takes about 18 laps to make a mile and I have surprised myself in being able to walk that far.  We don't walk too fast, but fast enough.

After the walk I went over to his house so he could show me how to use a software program call CaptureWiz Pro.  Then I stopped at the bank and Post Office.  I knew we had a postage increase coming and thought it was March but was told it starts on May 12th.  I bought a couple of sheets of the forever stamps, which will take care of our postage needs for quite awhile.  We don't use many stamps anymore since we use electronic bill paying.

Samanta, have you tried using MS Paint (which is a part of the Windows software?  Also, there is a great free program called Irfanview that I think might solve your problems.  If those don't work for you I expect you can do a Google search and find some others programs to try that might do the trick.

Pat, Judy, and Ruth--the bad weather up your way doesn't sound good at all.  I know you all will be looking forward to spring.

Janet, that was quite a dinner you and Darrel prepared.  I am sure it was enjoyed unless you had some very picky eaters.  :)  That for that great devotional.

Marilyn, it sounds like your grandchildren are very good swimmers.

Colin, lovely poem and like others have expressed I can't imagine being able to sit down and write something like that in such a short time.  The truth of the matter is I probably could never write it regardless of the time I had available.

Hi Jane and Al.

Oh, dear, Samantha...

I have no idea of a free program.  I just use Paint Shop Pro for all my graphic work.  Hopefully someone else here will know of a free program for you.

Sounds interesting indeed--a pastor with a "Mr. Atlas" body!

Good morning, Colin!  Well, it isn't morning here or where you are so good morning, Colin, tomorrow morning!   :-\

Janet ~ What an international meal!  I would have sampled all of it.  Even the octopus!

I mentioned this on SrNet so I will mention it here, too!  Did y'all know that at Cracker Barrel kids of all ages can order from the 'Kids of All Ages' menu?  I got 8-10 French Fried Popcorn Shrimp, French Fries, I think another side, two biscuits or cornbread AND a drink for $4.49!!!  Just enough to eat...not too much.

I got this in an email this morning and thought to share it with everyone.  It is a physicians account of
The CrucifixionGraphic but really make you realize what Jesus did for us.  It's a long read but worth it.

It was bright and sunny but now the clouds are hiding the sun above.  Even raining now but the temp is nice....53°F.

Awww never mind me Pat! Was letting off a little steam. Not that we Irish are bad tempered or anything.  :ticked:

Maybe I am feeling a little stressed and I know Jeannine has not had time to come in here but I would ask you on her behalf to pray for her and Michael. He had at least three siezures inside one hour yesterday and he is now in hospital. I have not heard an update from Jeannine yet and she will probably come here and let you all know what is going on. I have gotten to know Jeannine quite well over the last year and I could not ask for a better friend. She is deserving of our support and prayers at this time. Thank you all.

I liked what you said about time Karmat.....back to yesterday...might do a poem!

Thanks for all your kind words about my poem. I thought the producer had a poem as she uses other poets work as well as mine and she said she had forgotten to ask me for one. It was panic stations let me tell you! The poem was actually written in about half an hour but I could not email it to her as her printer is not working so I had to drive to her house.

Samantha I used to be able to do that in an Adobe program I had....change heads and things but I dont think that program is in my computer now since it crashed awhile ago. Sorry I cant help you.

Colin maybe by now it is good evening?

Cadets is cancelled tonight.  I will be able to get home in the daylight.  It is still raining, Pat I hope the sanders are out in your area....the salt will be washed away.

Good Devotional Janet.  We are having "dinner for 8" at our church this Friday.  We didn't sign up as we rarely are done with work in time.  John doesn't usually get off till after 8 at night.

It is a quiet day in the store, no one is venturing out into the weather, I really don't blame them.

Bye for now and God bless.

PS I like the new shout box Pat easier to read!

Jeannine

Good afternoon all,

Colin, bless you and thank you!

Have read all posts but short time on computer as am doing this from Michael's PICU room. He had several seizures yesterday. At the hospital he had several more separated by only a second or two before they started in again over the course of an hour and a half, they loaded so much anti seizure meds into him he is still sleeping and is on a vent to assist his breathing. They will be running some tests to find what might have triggered this, right now it's looking like low sodium in his system, but he is a sick little boy right now. Still some occasional seizure like activity. Prayers would be welcome and appreciated.

May you all have a God filled and blessed rest of the day.

Still Trusting In HIM!

Took my wife (Val) to hospital today with appendicitis.  Having been in great pain for nearly 24 hours they are going to keep her under observation until tomorrow (another 10 hours) before dciding whether or not to operate. It's going to be a long night for both of us - though hers will be the less comfortable.

Hi, friends,

It was a gorgeous, 70+ degree day - perfect for eating lunch with 2 friends I used to work with. Then, the thunderstorms waited to start until I got home about 7 pm tonight.

Larry, I think I may use that $25 approach to see if I can get my children in Atlanta to return my calls. Have been waiting to hear from them since last Friday!

Samantha, I've seen where Irfanview is supposed to be pretty good, but I've never used it. Good luck - what a cute idea!

Jeannine, I, too, am praying for your son.

How is our appendix patient doing?

Y'all have a good evening.

Still no operation for Val.  The fourth doctor has overruled the previous 3 and declared it's not appendicitis  (for what it's worth - I disagree with him).  But if it isn't that it's got to be something else so they are keeping her under 'observation' which seems to be a euphanism for l'eft in a hospital bed and ignored'.

Thank you Pat! Seeing that frog reminds me that the frogs have laid their spawn in my pond already this year. I accidently stepped on a frog last year and I dont know who jumped the higher...it or me! I never ever saw a frog jump straight up before until this one did it.
Keith I can understand your frustration and I feel for you and your wife. As they say over here..doctors differ and patients die. I have a friend in hospital at the moment who has been " boaking rings" round him and his mother phoned the nurses this morning and they told her he was grand only to be told by her son 5 mins later that he never felt worse. Hope and pray Keith that they decide what is wrong with your wife and she is out of pain soon.

So sad to read of our loved ones in the hospital waiting for a  diagnose.  Lord, please bring them home to their loved ones in a much better condition than way before they entered the hospitals.

I read my monthly church bulletin today and found out that we are on the web now.  If you go to www.parkchapel.org, then click on Podcast and select a sermon...David/Solid Ground is traditional...Danny/Crossing is contemporary, you can listen to them.  Also we have some mighty funny (stupid) :idiot: skits and they are on You Tube.  Go to www.youtube.com and put in the search engine parkchapel.  The ones with Doug and Bob are the funniest (stupidest).

Well, I am thinking that we are in for an ice storm.  My lights have flickered several times.  It was raining earlier and now it is 30°F which equals ICE.  It is dark and dreary today.  May become dark inside soon....and cold!!

Hi everyone.  This has been a rainy day and we are under a tornado watch until 7 pm in some parts of our area but don't think it includes my county.  I walked at the gym this morning with two of my friends and then headed down to see the PA to have my pacemaker checked.  All was fine and he said I had about 75 percent of the battery left, whcih should last about 5 years more and then I will have to have a new device implanted.   It was about 1:45 pm before I got home but can't rememberr when I have gone to a doctor's office and been out in about 30 minutes.

I stopped by our daughter's apartment, which was across the street from where I saw the PA, and left a few items.  I then stopped and had lunch and came home and took a nap.  Tonight we have choir practice so our choir director can leave early to get to Florida for her wedding on Saturday.

Colin, I hope your camels aren't too unhappy.  :)  You must be great fun to know in person.  I watched the series on the Ice Road truckers a few months ago and was totally fascinated.  That was sure a job I wouldn't want to do.

Etta Sue, sure hope you miss the ice storm.

Marilyn, I wish I had something to suggest as to why you are not seeing the Shout Box and I am using IE7.

Wordsculptor, so sorry to hear of the pain your wife is in and the waiting is so difficult.  Maybe they think if they wait long enough she will get better on her own.

Jeannine, I can't even imagine what turmoil you must experience with Michael so ill.  I hope the seizures don't continue.  I am praying for you both.

Pat

Hi Larry...

Sounds like a nice full day you've had.  Time for a nap?

I think that the problem with the Shoutbox has to be in some of the IE settings?  I'm not sure though as I'm seeing it.

Jeannine

Evening all,

Been another long day in the PICU. They have given Michael a med to get rid of excess water in his lungs, did a CAT scan, and put in a central line. He is still pretty much sleeping all the time, when he is the vent is doing all the work of breathing for him. No more seizures thank the Lord. But he is still a very sick little boy, still very worried for him, always wondering just how much more his little body can take.

I have IE7 and see the shout box just fine, wonder what your advanced options are set for, they control what you do and don't see in the browser, and if it is a Java platform make sure it is up to date.

I have read all the posts, so many people to pray for, have done so and will continue to, it is a comfort when things look iffy or bleak. Well time for bed. May you all find a restful nights sleep in His loving arms and are blessed.

So sorry that we have so  many folk in need at the present time. I have a sore back and that is nothing compared to others.   I am praying for all of you that have a need.

Like Marilyn I do not have the shout box, if I need to make changes to my setting will you send a private e-mail with instructions.  It works better for me when on paper and I can follow step by step.

A big storm is on its way it will be interesting to see what we wake up to in the morning.

Nita, if you're talking about the shout box, I think she and Oldiesman are trying to figure out if the software here in this discussion is having a problem, or if maybe some setting in the internet software we use may be at fault.

I attended a great Bible study this evening and a birthday party for our leader, who is now 85 years young and still giving very insightful bible studies and occasional sermons.

Y'all have a good evening.

JudyB:  I have seen the Swedish huck cloth and when it is embroidered, it is so pretty and clear stitching - very nice.  A cousin's wife just showed me her tablecloth of hours of work.  I can't tell you if you must iron or not.  I do some Scandinavian stitches with wool yarn and that isn't ironed.  Enjoy.

Pat my dear...the frog DID NOT croak it! I just felt the soft thing under my foot and leaped into the air and it leaped up along with me. I still laugh at the thought of it.

Keith so nice to see your wife and a lovely lady she is. I do pray that soon she will be relieved of her pain. Take care.

About the ice roads....John is looking into that for the 2009 season.  It is a challenge he will enjoy, he is such a good driver, I support and I am encouraging him in this investigation.  Colin crazu maybe, but the pay is well worth it.

We have snow today and mild weather.  That is the problem with the near 0F temperatures.  In Toronto today all school buses are cancelled, I don't know if that includes Ruth or not.  John was heading out last night when a storm hit and he stopped at a truck stop to give the storm time to blow itself out and the sander a chance to get caught up.

Exciting news for Kassie, there was a contest on the "K" this morning and she won 2 tickets to the Mark Lowary concert on the 15th!  She has given them to John and I as a date night!  Also she has graduated again into another music book, the grade 1 conservatory, the teacher is working her up to those in her age group.  She has a light touch, and is a beautiful pianist.

I must run, work is calling

Jeannine I am praying

Bye for now and God bless

Well, we had such a storm last night.   My friend was here and I took her home in the middle of the storm.  I was almost the only car on the road and what driving difficulty I had!!!  The snow is deep again here and still falling.

Pat, you can have that snow stuff - I don't want any!  Had enough of that stuff in years past.  It's partly clear here this morning.  Not bad.  We thank our Lord for the rain He sends, but also for the sun.

I spent part of Monday night at the ER with a severely strained lower abdominal muscle.  I still have to be very, very careful with it, but, very thankfully, I was able to sleep pretty well last night.  That was the first time in my lifetime that I rode as a patient in an ambulance.

Good news/bad news time:- Good news is we've just collected Val from hospital - still in some discomfort but without the severity of pain she had earlier. Bad news - she'll have to go back as an outpatient for the the scan which she should have had on Monday (ultrasound) and which the doctor said she didn't need but overnight seems to have changed his opinion !
She does have a minor unrinary infection which has muddied the water a bit (sorry about the pun) but this was NOT the problem earlier this week.
The likliest scenario presently is gall stones which should show up on the scan when that finally happens.

Today's Chuckle  :)

A man went to see his doctor because he was suffering from a miserable cold. His doctor prescribed some pills, but they didn't help.

On his next visit the doctor gave him a shot, but that didn't do any good, either.

On his third visit the doctor told the man to go home and take a hot bath. As soon as he was finished bathing he was to throw open all the windows and stand in the draft.

"But doc," protested the patient, "if I do that, I'll get pneumonia."

"I know," said his physician, "I can cure pneumonia."

Carol/JudyB ~ I remember my mother made me a yellow gathered skirt with straps out of yellow huck toweling, then she embroidered a design around the bottom and on the two pockets with red and green embroidery floss.  I thought it was the prettiest thing I had ever seen.  The first day I wore it to school, I was sitting on the merry-go-round and three of the biggest kids in school got the merry-go-round going so fast, I slid off and hit my head.  I was so upset because blood ran down on my pretty skirt!  I loved that skirt!

We did have our ice storm last night but not nearly as bad as it could have been.  Photography guild was canceled.  My lights flickered a few times but that was yesterday morning.  Last night we got a layer of snow over the ice...better traction for feet and tires.  I didn't even get my mail or paper yesterday.  I walked to the mail box this morning and took some things to Ivalou and then home.  I shoveled the deck and my walking pavers.  Sun is shining brightly right now and my solar system is working.  It is only 28°F right now but is suppose to get to 38°F some time today.

Maybe another 4 weeks of this and then I can say spring has sprung!!

Hi everyone.  After a very rainy day here yesterday we have a colder but very sunny and nice day.  I cut my time at the cafe short this morning so the friend I pick up every morning and I would have time to walk at the gym, which we did.  Pat and I then went to Bible study with the pastor and then to Dunkin' Donuts with our friends for more visiting.  I have some database work to do on the next 70 applications for our senior Golden Games that are coming up.  I have the entries in the database made and now just have to print out the individual reports and make each one a certificate, which I do with a Publisher file.

Al and Pat, I agree that those ambulance rides are not a pleasant experience.  They must not have any shocks built into those vehicles as you feel every bump in the road.  However, the EMTs do wonderful work.

Jeannine, glad there have been no more seizures for Michael.

Wordsculptor, sure glad to hear that your wife was able to come home from the hospital.

Judy, John has a lot more courage than I would have to drive those ice roads.  I know the rewards are great but the challenges also seem to be very great and there is always danger (but I guess that is always true on any truck driving work).

Janet, I thought you said you were working a part time job.  I bet they know they have a jewel for an employee and you will be working a lot.  Do hope the treatment is helpful to Beth.  I have a friend in Maryland who is having botox shots for pain and it helps her temporarily.

Janet

Thanks, Larry!  The boss told me today that she intends to get me trained for both shifts at Park View Assisted Living; then take me over to Western Prairie Care Home and train me there as well.  (Western Prairie is where Mom and Beth are.)  I must remind her that I do NOT want to work full time!

The doctor doubled the amount of Botox he injected into Beth's legs yesterday, we do hope it helps her.  She was sick today.  :'(  I sure hope she isn't taking that awful flu that swept through this area recently.  I dropped off some Reliv products for her but didn't linger; as I sure don't want to get sick.

Jeannine, hope your little Michael is much better by now.  It is difficult having a sick child, at any age, I know.  Hugs to you ((((((hugs))))))

Pat, that little running guy sort of reminds me of Popeye!  (And ME.)

We will be leaving in the morning, going to New Mexico to visit grandkids Curtis, Toni and little Alexis.  Not sure when we will be home, probably Monday.  Pat, do you have my cell phone # if you need to get in touch with me?

And away I go....... :run:

Edit:  Only one problem, I'm running the opposite direction of where I want to go, if that is me! ;)

Hi, friends,

Before I forget it, JudyB, when I do the Swedish embroidery, I turn the piece upside down over a big, fluffy towel, then iron it. That way, the beauty of the embroidery certainly becomes a stand-out!

I think of and pray often for all your children who have chronic illnesses and pain. It's SO difficult to see our children suffer - I know very well about that.

Goodness, I hope Val turns the corner soon - what a difficult time! And, Al, I truly hope you feel much better soon.

The day has been beautiful, and now I'm glad to be home and soon ready to head to bed.

Oh, yes, another thought just passed through my head. Janet, little Jax was given his new heart on Saturday night. Does that coincide with any timing for your little baby?

Y'all have a good evening.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Marilyn

I has been a beautiful day here today. The dogs each got a nice long walk. I haven't done much else today i did go to the store for some Organic meat, I bought a small pkg of Organic beef, grass fed, no grain, no hormones, no antibiotics, I don't normally eat beef but I have had a craving for a hamburger lately.

My nasal allergy is giving me fits, I had to start taking the prescription pills and using my Flonase again which dries out my nose s I have to swab it with Tea Tree oil which stings at the moment.

Now I am ready to go to Bible Study, we are stating a video series tonight.

Greetings from the island!  I have come to read but not spent any time posting on the computer....

All the talk about snow and ice makes me happy to splash in the rain.  Today was nice tho' and flowers are starting to appear in the garden.  It is still very cold first thing in the mornings and is a reminder that Spring has not quite arrived.

My Shoutbox is fine...tho' I never ever have anything much to shout about.

Monday the painters start in the house, so much preparation ahead.  Will have to take all the china, etc. out of cabinets, pictures off walls, etc.  My daughter is not well and in much pain, so this is certainly not going to help matters.  Then comes the hardwood floors, etc.  It is going to be a very long few weeks....I am very concerned for her.

Life has not been too exciting.  I went carpet bowling last week and we had a nice group from Victoria come for a visit.  Will probably not get back again until all this updating has been completed.  Had a perm today, so my budget is shot for the next few weeks....Bought another new collar and I.D. for the neighbors cat.  His owner was grateful and thanked me...That was nice and made my day!

Have been reading about Robotic Pets and how some senior places are using them.  What next?  Read an interesting blurb:

"What can something that does not have a life cycle know about your death, or about your pain?"

The article cited the case of a 72-year-old woman who, because she is sad, says she sees that her robotic toy is also sad. "What are we to make of this relationship when it happened between a depressed woman and a robot?"

Good question.  Pets seem to know when we need comfort and stick real close....at least mine have.  Squeek never leaves my daughter when she is having an expecially bad day and my cat always seems to understand.  We have automatic voices on pretty much everything today, now they even want to take away all normal contacts.   ::)

Come to think of it....Robotic Politicians might not be such a bad thing! ;)

Have prayed about all the needs and often think about Michael and Beth.  Has anyone heard how Zachary is doing?

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Good Morning.

About John and the ice roads.  The only loads he has not haulled is bio-hazzard and nuclear hazzards.  He loves driving and as I said he is good at what he does.  Driving the ice roads is a challenge he has wanted for years, and we are hoping he can do it.  The roads are really quite safe, it is the speed that is the determining factor.  The trucks must go slow enough to not build up a wave ahead of them.  The days are long, and the trucks never shut down.  I will give you updates as we get info.

Carol Thank you for the heads up.  I was wondering about ironing the piece when I was done.  Also I am getting into quilting, machine quilting mind you but quilting none the less.  It looks so interesting and we have a score of excellent teachers here.  The first one I am doing is an applique wall hanging called "The Crucifixion" and it looks like a stained glass window when it is done.  I have the materials and I am really looking forward to getting into it.

We have two dogs in season a day apart.  This is going to make for an interesting spring.  Pat I am hoping to be down to you on the 18th or close to that date.  I still have to work out the details with my friend in Kitchener.

I must run work is calling.

JudyB

Ruth

I did not get any sewing done last evening, chatting on msn instead that was kinda more important. So will be doing some in a few minutes.

A beautiful sunny day and when I headed out for work this morning the birds had the sound of spring in their chirp.

Pampered Chef e-mailed a lot of recipes to be used in the bunt type of stoneware. a lot of printing to be sure. When I prepare them it will also be lots of calories.

Pat:  my shout box is now working.

I called Ivalou this morning to see if she wanted to go with me to the bank and to the court house.  If so, does she want to do breakfast or lunch?  So we went to the bank, had breakfast, went to the court house (to get a discount on my property taxes now that I am 65) and then to the grocery.

I got done at the grocery before Ivalou so I waited for her inside the store.  We walked out together pushing our carts.  We got to the trunk of the car and we both stood there.  I was waiting for her to open the trunk.  She looked at me and said, 'Is it froze shut?'  I said, 'I don't know.  Open it!'  She said, 'I can't!  It's your car!!'  Duh!   :idiot:  And I have a dark blue car and Ivalou's car is dark green!!

Then when I got home, I got my entries into my checkbook, wrote a check for a bill and put it in the envelope with a return address label and a stamp.  I put everything away and shredded my trash.  Ivalou called and when I looked at the table, I thought...where is my letter to mail?  I looked and looked and couldn't find it, thinking that I shredded it.  I opened the cabinet door and it was with my labels and stamps.  Duh!   :idiot:

It's not fun being 65!! :-X

Also pray for Marge...the lady that goes with us to Beef and Boards.  She was at Choir practice last night and fell on ice walking to her car.  They called 911 and she is in the hospital for a couple of days.  She has four broken ribs and checking to see if there is anything else.  She is a little gal...no built-in padding...so she may have more damage than first thought.

I have to make some Zucchini bread today to take tomorrow to a Women's Retreat with Ivalou's church ladies.  We all take something for a Continental Breakfast for Saturday morning.

Hi everyone.  It has been a busy day with very beautiful weather.  I spent a number of hours working on the paperwork for our Senior Golden Games that is coming up next month.  I have now processed about 170 applications and prepared the individual reports of certificates of participation for each.  Once all the applications are processed then there are a whole series of reports that are printed out from the database.

Pat was gone most of the day and was tired this evening so we went back to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner and took advantage of their two for one dinner for $14.99.  It was another very good meal.

Michael looks very nice, Marilyn.  Does he have a slightly older brother....?  Just kidding.  I am not in the market, tho' still find that seems to attract nice widowers from time to time.  Al was a strong Christian and we shared the same values.  So that was okay.  But I am several years older than you and big difference in energy level.  Misty (cat) and I are both tuckered out at the end of our day.

Cooked an early dinner today as my daughter is busy getting ready for the painters.  We had dinner at noon as SIL had to work tonight.  So I took her out to Tim Horton's for soup and sandwich this evening. She is so tired...this is going to be a very long month. :'(

Carol, carpet bowling is like indoor lawn bowling! ( Liked your little joke.)  Enjoy the change of exercise and company of the group.  Some of them are Christians and most are really nice.  Best of all, it doesn't cost much to bowl.  Regular bowling is so expensive!!

Time to go.  Just wanted to tell Marilyn that her fellow looks nice. :)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Well where is everyone? I will be going to work shortly so here I am just for a few minutes.  Not much going one here today, i will be doing some laundry an walking the dogs when I get home.

Yesterday when I backed out of the garage/tent my right mirror caught the flap on the tent and pulled the bars apart in two places I will have to ask Bill across the street to help me put it back together, it takes two people on to hold and one to pull it. No big deal no damage. I have been afraid I would do that one of thee days.

Well, spring is the season of change, so this must indeed be spring, 'cause it's been very, very changeable from day to day and even from hour to hour.  Yesterday was mostly sunny, but at the moment it's overcast.  The temperatures have risen a bit, and soon we'll probably be getting the March winds.  And besides all that daylight savings time is coming this Sundayl  I don't like changing back and forth, but it seems that I have no say in the matter.

Marilyn ~ Your man looks mighty handsome and gentle.  I, too, pray that he is all you and God wants him to be.

Liz ~ I sometimes look at couples and think...it's not fair.  I would love to have a man in my life but it is work!  I don't know if I have it in me to 'train' another man!   ^-^  You know...how to hang his wet towels up so they will dry...to take his shoes off before walking on newly mopped floors...to take his socks off right side out...to put the seat back down...you know, those important things in a marriage!!

Well, another missed prediction of bad weather.   :P  I was surprised to get up this morning and no new snow.  Now they are saying it is to start at noon and we will have ½ inch to 7 inches of snow.  What a difference!  Snow is suppose to continue to 4pm tomorrow.  And I am driving to Brown County...Nashville, Indiana...to a Women's Retreat with Ivalou's church ladies.  I am not worried about the snow...I am used to it.  There will be four in my car.  We are staying overnight and coming back tomorrow afternoon.  Probably won't be any shopping in
Nashville since it suppose to be cold and snowy.  Nashville is a quaint little town with lots of arts and craft shops, the Little Nashville Opry House and wedding chapels.  Fun little town.

It is only 24°F right now.  If I look real close, I can see a flake of snow or two.  But for now, it is a go to Brown County!

Hi Everyone...

I was up early this morning, spoke to some relatives in Northern Ireland and then I went and laid down to see if I could rid myself of a crazy headache.  I did!  Now, I'm trying to do some "de-cluttering".

A Repair Order

My dad, an auto mechanic, received a repair order that read: "Check for clunking sound when going around corners."

Taking the car out for a test drive, he made a right turn, and a moment later he heard a clunk. He then made a left turn and again heard a clunk.

Back at the shop, he opened the car's trunk, and soon discovered the problem.

Promptly he returned the repair order to the service manager with this notation: "Remove bowling ball from trunk".

Hi everyone.  It has bee a rainy morning with apparently more rain on the way.  It isn't too chilly.  I have had a busy morning as after coffee a the senior center my friend and I went walking at the church gym.  I then came home and worked all morning entering new entries into the Senior Golden Games database.  I am now eating a bite of lunch and feel a nap coming on.  The air was so heavy this morning that the walking really tired me out today.  Fortunately I don't have to go anywhere else today.

Marilyn, Michael looks like a very handsome gentleman.  It is nice to have a face to go with the name.

I will be short today in my posting.

Do yall want to see a photo of Michael? This is one of the Yahoo ID photos, there is another but I didn't get it off Yahoo yet.

Nice photo, Marilyn.  Looks like a lovely person to call a friend.

Thanks for sharing.

Etta Sue, I remember Brown County (have a tee shirt to prove it!).  We had a Hoosier Retreat for Senior Net there about 8 years ago.  Had a lot of fun and made some great memories.  That was just after my daughter had died, and before I moved to Oregon, so that's how I can say how long ago it was.   8)

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Pat It think is is safe to say that Michael and I are a little bit more than just friends. I may be able to elaborate more when he gets here.

Hi everyone. Blustery day in N. Ireland. At the moment I am watching the rugby match between Ireland and Wales on TV. We are 3 points up but it is early in the match yet.
Michael is very handsome Marilyn and I can tell he is a very nice man indeed! Loved your story about the bowl Pat and Etta Sue I am a very untrained man!

Take care everyone else.

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee.  I was all alone for quite awhile this morning and then another friend came in and we had a nice visit.  A little later another friend also appeared.  Two of the regulars had other things to do this morning.

I think I have some serious problems with my laptop as it just suddenly turns off and I noticed last night it was running on battery when it should have been on electric power.  I checked this morning and my warranty expired last August.  I bought this laptop in 2004 and it has been a nice one.

We are having some snow showers this morning.  However, the ground is too warm to accumulate so it is just pleasant to see.  It is about 34 degrees outside and a little windy.  I have to get out to attend a meeting and then plan to stay in the rest of the day.

Not much else new here.  Our daughter was able to get the medicine for her sinus infection so hopefully she will be feeling better by Monday and will be able to return to work.  She missed about 2 1/2 days fo work this week.

Jeannine

Good morning from the PICU,
Michael is coming along but they are still concerned about his breathing, they had him off the vent when I came in but have put him back on. Thankfully there have been no more seizures or fevers. He is on an antibiotic and something to get rid of excess fluids. I was hoping we'd be off the vent and at least down to the Intermediate care unit but that has not happened yet. Still a sick little boy. More waiting.

Been reading and praying as I am able to get here, just busy days at the hospital this past week. Hope all are feeling better.

We are having snow, sleet and freezing rain here, not nice for driving at all.

May you all have a God filled and blessed day, will try to get in more often.

Still Trustin in HIM!

Good afternoon I spent an hour and a half online with Michael early this morning and didn't get here until now as I had things to do.

I am taking the dogs in for their Rabies Inoculations this afternoon. Not much else is new here. Beautiful day I think I willtake the dogs for a walk now.

What a wonderful overnight retreat!  It was snowing here when I left and the farther south I got the more snow.  I saw brake lights ahead of me on the interstate and exited.  The little man (GPS) said for me to make a legal U turn.  I didn't.  Finally he recalculated.  I was on country roads.  Southern Indiana is hilly, curvy, beautiful...nice ride but NOT on snowy roads.  I missed a turn and the little man...gonna have to name him...kept saying Make a legal U turn..well, I had went on this narrow road over the dam and didn't want to drive that again!!  So I kept on going.  Finally all three of the ladies said they had seen this realtor sign before.  I went all around a lake!!  This time when the little man said Turn right I did.  We finally got to a state highway and was only 2 miles from the motel.  I knew the little man would get me there but whew! were my legs and eyes tired!!

The retreat was great.  25 women.  Great praising God and great fellowship.

We woke up this morning to 8 inches of snow.  Light, fluffy snow.  Most snow in Indiana is heavy and wet...good snowball/snowman making snow.  But this was light and fluffy.  The closer I got to Indy the less snow.  And my driveway here is almost all melted except east of my house where the wind blew the snow into a drift.

I didn't sleep good last night.  Might have been caffeine but I only got about 2 hours sleep.  So I think I will go get my feet up, cover with my afghan and maybe take a nap!

Hi, friends, I ended up working late Thursday night, then went in early to meet the Friday deadline. Afterward, wintry weather warnings were out, so I left early, went home, and fell fast asleep!

And, have rested most of the day, today.

Y'all have a wonderful day in our Lord. :D

Snow and more snow  it has been blowing and coming down all day.
Mel & our Son left real early this morning to go ice fishing I am sure that they are having a wonderful father & son time. Will they bring any fish home I do not really know with this storm on the go.

Etta Sue:  Your Nashville Indiana is much bigger and more exciting then the Nashville Ontario that is just a few miles from here.

Marilyn:  You have a handsome friend.

I have my sewing finished so now to the next project.

Jeannine:   I am so happy to hear the Michael is slowly improving.

Pat:  So pleased that you are feeling better.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

I am going to Arcata first Baptist tonight for worship. Every 2nd Saturday night they have just worship and prayer for 1-1½ hours. I can take my Glory ring there and dance if I chose to. I can dance in the back at my church but can't take my glory ring.

Well, thanks be to God, it's the Lord's Day again.  Ever wonder why it's called that?  It's because He rose from the dead on that day - we celebrate His resurrection every Sunday.

Well, it's supposed to be partly sunny today, then increasing chance of rain tonight and tomorrow.  But no ice/snow.  I'm thankful for that.

By the way everybody - don't forget that Daylight Savings Time began today.  It's later than you think.

Pat

Well, I got snowed in.  I couldn't get to church.  The fellow next door is now blowing the drive so hopefully I'll get to the evening service.

I tried to get on CP earlier and it wouldn't load.  Hmmm!

I think it was tension from driving in the snow or the lack of sleep Friday night, but I turned off the alarm and didn't go to church today.  It is bright and sunny and I did just get home from going to the Dollar General for some milk.  Sunshine always makes one feel better.

I don't know if Ivalou went to church or not.  I was asleep when I could see lights in her house this morning.

Past time for lunch and then I am going to read.

Body builder picture of the pastor went over well this morning, I'll post it later

What a nice way to remind us - I never thought about resurrection being Every Sunday celebration.

I think the temperature is into the 40's so I sure want to take a walk today and it will be good to get away from the computer.

Question:  I need to download free graphics for my Paint Shop Pro lessons.  What is a safe site?  Many thanks for any good information.

Hi everyone.  This has been a bit of a strange weekend in that our Internet connection was down most of yesterday afternoon and all morning.  The ATT service man was here yesterday and found that it was a system problem effecting about 450 connections.  On top of that there is something wrong with my laptop.  I think that it is a heating problem as it works for a little while and then shuts itself off.

Tonight is the play at our church on the "Gospel of John".  Our friends are going to go with us.

We have had a beautiful but cool day.

Marilyn

I couldn't get into CP before I went to church this morning.

Last night's worship was very nice, I just sat on the pew and enjoyed being there with the Lord. Then we prayed for the college students who were there.

Today church was great. The worship was so anointed and the message was titled  Rejoice in the Rain.  The rain being the trials of our lives.

The sun is out  with lots of clouds I can see some blue from my window  here by my computer.

I enjoyed being in church today. Our pastor is sick with the flu, so a wonderful leader in our church, 85 year old elder, brought such a great message. It was uplifting and a challenge to us to walk more closely with our Lord.
