JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

So sorry that we have so  many folk in need at the present time. I have a sore back and that is nothing compared to others.   I am praying for all of you that have a need.

Like Marilyn I do not have the shout box, if I need to make changes to my setting will you send a private e-mail with instructions.  It works better for me when on paper and I can follow step by step.

A big storm is on its way it will be interesting to see what we wake up to in the morning.

The shout box shows when off line but it not to be found when online.

What browser are you using, Ruth?

I didn't know the shoutbox was up yet.  I don't see it with Firefox.

Uh, Pat....what are you trying to say? :)

Ruth Ann Bice

Nita, if you're talking about the shout box, I think she and Oldiesman are trying to figure out if the software here in this discussion is having a problem, or if maybe some setting in the internet software we use may be at fault.

I attended a great Bible study this evening and a birthday party for our leader, who is now 85 years young and still giving very insightful bible studies and occasional sermons.

Y'all have a good evening.

Praying for all of the fearful events in your lives....

JudyB:  I have seen the Swedish huck cloth and when it is embroidered, it is so pretty and clear stitching - very nice.  A cousin's wife just showed me her tablecloth of hours of work.  I can't tell you if you must iron or not.  I do some Scandinavian stitches with wool yarn and that isn't ironed.  Enjoy.

Thought you might like to see a pic of the hospital patient when she was in less pain:

Hi everyone. Hope you have all been well rested and had a good night's sleep.
Pat my dear...the frog DID NOT croak it! I just felt the soft thing under my foot and leaped into the air and it leaped up along with me. I still laugh at the thought of it.

Keith so nice to see your wife and a lovely lady she is. I do pray that soon she will be relieved of her pain. Take care.

About the ice roads....John is looking into that for the 2009 season.  It is a challenge he will enjoy, he is such a good driver, I support and I am encouraging him in this investigation.  Colin crazu maybe, but the pay is well worth it.

We have snow today and mild weather.  That is the problem with the near 0F temperatures.  In Toronto today all school buses are cancelled, I don't know if that includes Ruth or not.  John was heading out last night when a storm hit and he stopped at a truck stop to give the storm time to blow itself out and the sander a chance to get caught up.

Exciting news for Kassie, there was a contest on the "K" this morning and she won 2 tickets to the Mark Lowary concert on the 15th!  She has given them to John and I as a date night!  Also she has graduated again into another music book, the grade 1 conservatory, the teacher is working her up to those in her age group.  She has a light touch, and is a beautiful pianist.

I must run, work is calling

Jeannine I am praying

Bye for now and God bless

Pat

Such a lovely photo of Val, Keith!

Thanks for sharing that with us.  I pray that they will get to the bottom of her problem soon.

Well, we had such a storm last night.   My friend was here and I took her home in the middle of the storm.  I was almost the only car on the road and what driving difficulty I had!!!  The snow is deep again here and still falling.

Pat, you can have that snow stuff - I don't want any!  Had enough of that stuff in years past.  It's partly clear here this morning.  Not bad.  We thank our Lord for the rain He sends, but also for the sun.

I spent part of Monday night at the ER with a severely strained lower abdominal muscle.  I still have to be very, very careful with it, but, very thankfully, I was able to sleep pretty well last night.  That was the first time in my lifetime that I rode as a patient in an ambulance.

Oh, my goodness, Al.  That's terrible.  I'm sorry you were in the hospital my friend.  I don't think those ambulances are what they are all cracked up to be!   :ambu::ambu::ambu::ambu::ambu::ambu::ambu:

Good news/bad news time:- Good news is we've just collected Val from hospital - still in some discomfort but without the severity of pain she had earlier. Bad news - she'll have to go back as an outpatient for the the scan which she should have had on Monday (ultrasound) and which the doctor said she didn't need but overnight seems to have changed his opinion !
She does have a minor unrinary infection which has muddied the water a bit (sorry about the pun) but this was NOT the problem earlier this week.
The likliest scenario presently is gall stones which should show up on the scan when that finally happens.

Yes Marilyn we do need the running smile, we also need a heart falling into a boot.....I think we have all had that feeling.

Pat has the weather lightened up yet?  John was saying that the radio has said there has been 5 meters of snow since the beginning of the season, or is that feet?

It is dead today at work.  No noone died, just feels that way.

What a trying time you are having Keith and Val.

This is truly awful.  I'm prone to these urinary infections and they are just so painful too.

Just for you, Keith!

Today's Chuckle  :)

A man went to see his doctor because he was suffering from a miserable cold. His doctor prescribed some pills, but they didn't help.

On his next visit the doctor gave him a shot, but that didn't do any good, either.

On his third visit the doctor told the man to go home and take a hot bath. As soon as he was finished bathing he was to throw open all the windows and stand in the draft.

"But doc," protested the patient, "if I do that, I'll get pneumonia."

"I know," said his physician, "I can cure pneumonia."

Carol/JudyB ~ I remember my mother made me a yellow gathered skirt with straps out of yellow huck toweling, then she embroidered a design around the bottom and on the two pockets with red and green embroidery floss.  I thought it was the prettiest thing I had ever seen.  The first day I wore it to school, I was sitting on the merry-go-round and three of the biggest kids in school got the merry-go-round going so fast, I slid off and hit my head.  I was so upset because blood ran down on my pretty skirt!  I loved that skirt!

We did have our ice storm last night but not nearly as bad as it could have been.  Photography guild was canceled.  My lights flickered a few times but that was yesterday morning.  Last night we got a layer of snow over the ice...better traction for feet and tires.  I didn't even get my mail or paper yesterday.  I walked to the mail box this morning and took some things to Ivalou and then home.  I shoveled the deck and my walking pavers.  Sun is shining brightly right now and my solar system is working.  It is only 28°F right now but is suppose to get to 38°F some time today.

Maybe another 4 weeks of this and then I can say spring has sprung!!

re: 'Today's chuckle' - that would be more funny if it didn't sound quite so near to the reality !   Got the feeling that if she stayed in any longer the next diagnosis would be ingrowing toenail.

Can anyone see this?

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  After a very rainy day here yesterday we have a colder but very sunny and nice day.  I cut my time at the cafe short this morning so the friend I pick up every morning and I would have time to walk at the gym, which we did.  Pat and I then went to Bible study with the pastor and then to Dunkin' Donuts with our friends for more visiting.  I have some database work to do on the next 70 applications for our senior Golden Games that are coming up.  I have the entries in the database made and now just have to print out the individual reports and make each one a certificate, which I do with a Publisher file.

Al and Pat, I agree that those ambulance rides are not a pleasant experience.  They must not have any shocks built into those vehicles as you feel every bump in the road.  However, the EMTs do wonderful work.

Jeannine, glad there have been no more seizures for Michael.

Wordsculptor, sure glad to hear that your wife was able to come home from the hospital.

Judy, John has a lot more courage than I would have to drive those ice roads.  I know the rewards are great but the challenges also seem to be very great and there is always danger (but I guess that is always true on any truck driving work).

Janet, I thought you said you were working a part time job.  I bet they know they have a jewel for an employee and you will be working a lot.  Do hope the treatment is helpful to Beth.  I have a friend in Maryland who is having botox shots for pain and it helps her temporarily.

Janet

Thanks, Larry!  The boss told me today that she intends to get me trained for both shifts at Park View Assisted Living; then take me over to Western Prairie Care Home and train me there as well.  (Western Prairie is where Mom and Beth are.)  I must remind her that I do NOT want to work full time!

The doctor doubled the amount of Botox he injected into Beth's legs yesterday, we do hope it helps her.  She was sick today.  :'(  I sure hope she isn't taking that awful flu that swept through this area recently.  I dropped off some Reliv products for her but didn't linger; as I sure don't want to get sick.

Jeannine, hope your little Michael is much better by now.  It is difficult having a sick child, at any age, I know.  Hugs to you ((((((hugs))))))

Pat, that little running guy sort of reminds me of Popeye!  (And ME.)

We will be leaving in the morning, going to New Mexico to visit grandkids Curtis, Toni and little Alexis.  Not sure when we will be home, probably Monday.  Pat, do you have my cell phone # if you need to get in touch with me?

And away I go....... :run:

Edit:  Only one problem, I'm running the opposite direction of where I want to go, if that is me! ;)

Hi, friends,

Before I forget it, JudyB, when I do the Swedish embroidery, I turn the piece upside down over a big, fluffy towel, then iron it. That way, the beauty of the embroidery certainly becomes a stand-out!

I think of and pray often for all your children who have chronic illnesses and pain. It's SO difficult to see our children suffer - I know very well about that.

Goodness, I hope Val turns the corner soon - what a difficult time! And, Al, I truly hope you feel much better soon.

The day has been beautiful, and now I'm glad to be home and soon ready to head to bed.

Oh, yes, another thought just passed through my head. Janet, little Jax was given his new heart on Saturday night. Does that coincide with any timing for your little baby?

Y'all have a good evening.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Marilyn

I has been a beautiful day here today. The dogs each got a nice long walk. I haven't done much else today i did go to the store for some Organic meat, I bought a small pkg of Organic beef, grass fed, no grain, no hormones, no antibiotics, I don't normally eat beef but I have had a craving for a hamburger lately.

My nasal allergy is giving me fits, I had to start taking the prescription pills and using my Flonase again which dries out my nose s I have to swab it with Tea Tree oil which stings at the moment.

Now I am ready to go to Bible Study, we are stating a video series tonight.
