JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Oh, my!  What a fallen, depraved, mixed-up world we live in today!  And "they" try to insist all their "stuff" is normal?  NOT!

Larry, good for you!  Like you, I just want to LIVE as long as I live!

Carol, yes, I'm taking care of me.  I told them that I do not want to work three or four days in a row; it just takes my feet and legs too long to recover.  And they are respecting that.  Also, with family reunion looming in June, being held HERE, we have lots to get done!  Thanks for your concern.  <3

I'm off today, so we are tackling the garage, and Darrel is at this moment waiting for my help, so I must run!

This morning I have been  cleaning the bathroom and kitchen so far still have the vacuuming to do. I have had my shower and shampooed my hair early before starting the housework. Forecast irthday Pizza party is this afternoon from 2-4 then on to church at 5, going to the recycler too, so  I have a busy day ahead.

Just to keep you up to date, Keith and I are communicating via MSM messenger about 3 times per day, then there are also the phone calls every few days. I think there may be a future here at some later date. For now we remain friends. So keep on praying I appreciate the prayers.

Better get back to work or it won't get  done.

We had a good morning and then went out to lunch with a group of folks.  We went to Ruby Tuesday's and had their salad bar and mini burgers.  It was very good.  I came home and rested awhile.  I have a movie to watch and this evening will watch the games as I mentioned earlier.

Pat, thanks for sharing the information on McDonald's.  While I believe each person has a right to live their life as they choose I do resent having these things thrown in my face.  Our families are so under assault.

JudyB, glad you enjoyed your class and sure you will use your new knowledge to help others as they consider that machine.

Scotty, afraid I can't help as have to admit I am not a photographer.  I usually just point my camera and shoot and don't do that too often.

Etta Sue, we have friends who winter in Florida and they plan to return here on the 14th.  We will be happy to have them back.

I just got this in  my email.

   DIRECTIONS  TO  OUR  FATHER'S  HOUSE.

Make a Right onto Believeth Blvd.  Keep straight and go through
the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ.  There, you must turn onto
the Bridge of Faith, which is over troubled water.

Now when you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep
Straight.  You are on the King's Highway - Heaven-bound.
Keep going for three miles:  One for the Father, One for the Son,
and One for the Holy Spirit.

Then take the Grace Blvd exit.  From there, make a Right turn
on Gospel Lane.  Keep Straight and then make another Right on
Prayer Road.  As you go on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on
Temptation Ave.  Also, avoid SIN  STREET because it is a DEAD
END.  Pass up Envy Drive, and Hate Avenue.  Also, pass
Hypocrisy Street, Gossiping Lane, and Backbiting Blvd.

However, you will have to go down Long-suffering Lane,
Persecution Blvd. and Trials and Tribulations Ave, but that's all
right, because VICTORY Street is straight ahead!     AMEN!

COWASAKI!!  And it runs on grass, not gas, right??

You might guess that we are going to be watching the Kansas team play in the Final Four tonight.  ;)

We did a lot of work, didn't stop for a bite to eat until 3:30.  Whew.  But we did make good progress.  Why on earth do we keep so much junk, just because we can stash it out of sight in the garage?  :idiot:  We have a big pile ready to take to the Sr. Center for their  garage sale next Saturday.  A lot more went into the trash pit, and up to the big house to be auctioned off later.  And still more to go.....

We had lots of cans of paint left from when we were building this house.  I went to an auction once and bought about 24 gallons of paint for $12.00.  I used it for almost all the interior painting.  That's when my art training paid off, as I mixed all the colors I wanted from those mis-mixed cans.  Anyway---we are going to paint the garage floor, so need lots of paint.  We poured all of it into three 5 gallon buckets and mixed it.  Guess what color we have now?  A nice light grey!  :)  That will do fine.  We discovered years ago that if you paint concrete it is much easier to sweep, and you have a lot less dust, too.  Besides it looking nicer.  Now when we get the junk out of the way and the floor clean, we have paint to paint it with!

Beth just got word from one of her long-time NF friends, one who came to visit her twice with his wife---that she will soon have a "new SISTER" in the chatroom.  :ticked: >:( :idiot: :clobber: :uglystupid:  I can hardly believe it.  Well, for sure, that "sister" won't be getting pregnant!!  I think I agree with Darrel.  He says he's glad he is as old as he is, seeing what's happening in the world.  Can you even imagine (if Jesus tarries) what will be going on in our great-grand children's lifetimes??  I don't even want to think of it!!

Game will be on soon, need to eat a bite first.  Wishing you all a good evening.

And don't forget to vote in the challenge tie-breaker!   ;)

Pat, I love the new "Cowasaki"!
Does it run on ethanol?

Ethanol is corn alcohol, also known as the fuel of the future.
But, I bet you already know that. :uglystupid:

Pat

Probably it runs on ethanol, Scotty.

But it's hard to "STEER"!

Oh, you guys!!!:)  I need to get to bed but wanted to check in here and have been laughing since I saw the Cowasaki, and then reading the posts after.  Funny, funny.  lol  Nita

It is nice to see a little humor here as often we have sadder or more serious things to share.  I liked the cowasaki and related puns.

Janet, Kansas really controlled the game last night.  I couldn't believe that North Carolina could be dominated so easily.  The Memphis/UCLA game was also a bit one-sided.  It should be a good final game on Monday.  I agree with you that it is frightening to think what our country and world may be like by the time our great grandchildren are grown, although for me that isn't too many years away since I already have them.  That was quite a bargain you got on all of that paint.  I have never had a painted garage floor and doubt that I ever well now as couldn't do it myself anymore.

We will be going to church a little later today as the choir is only singing the Hymns as we have a soloist singing.  Our choir director is in New York with the Atlanta Symphyony Orchestra and Chorus where they performed a concert last night in Carnegie Hall.  Also since this is spring break week here there are no Wednesday evening programs at the church and we are taking a week off from choir practice so won't have to go Wednesday evening.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday.

Janet

Yes, Larry, those Kansas guys are quick, aren't they?  But NC had us worried there for a while in the beginning of the second half!  They cut Kansas' lead down to four points at one point!  Nice you will have a little more relaxed week this week.

I had a bit of time to say hello before church, which I don't, usually.  Now to finish getting ready for church.  Later!  :)

I am going to Arcata First Baptist church this morning. Servce starts at 10 so I still have a lot of time to finish getting ready, Well actually I only have to fix my hair and put on my blouse and I am ready. I was awake just before 4am, but didn't get out of bed until 5:15. I sure wish I could go back to sleep when I wake up so early like that.

When we still had our place "up north" we'd go to a baptist church as our denomination didn't have a church close by.

Once after an extended trip and a few week-end of missing our home church, we returned.  One of our friends said, "Where have you been?  We missed you."

I told her, "We've been going to a baptist church."  She thought we meant one in the neighborhood and replied, "Oh I'm sorry."  Then I told her the rest of the story and we both a had laugh.

Good day all!

Can't believe Kansas romped UNC.  Oh well.  Maybe next year. :)

I go to a Baptist church every Sunday.  hahahahha  (Well, it was funny to me)

Pat, thanks for posting that about Gord.  I'll remember them in my prayers.

Pat

I'm off to Royal City Baptist Church now.  I'm on the organ tonight so have to be there a bit early.

We have a missionary today speaking both evening and night.  He and his wife and family (including a new baby) were arrested and deported by the Venezuela authorities--deported forever and they are showing slides and reporting on their work that had to cease instantly.

Please pray that the Lord will lead them in another direction now.  They came up from Ann Arbor, Michigan to speak today in our church.

Samantha: I go to that  church  sometimes for Second Saturday evening Worship and prayer. I have a couple for very good friends that go there. This particular Baptist Church is spirit filled not traditional. they do a lot of stuff with the AG churches. I danced with the flags this morning with my friend Eleanor. I also know the pastor and his wife there. But I haven't left my church  I told my Pastor I was going to church with my friend.

Well, church was great....as usual.  I just know that some day we are going to lose Danny....probably to a larger church or a TV station.  He is so awesome.  He was illustrating the Holy Spirit in us with stacking chairs.  One chair is you.  The other is the Holy Spirit.  Apart we are nobody.  When nestled, we have the Holy Spirit with us all the time.

Later, I went to Taco Bell and then to WalMart.  I finally found a card table set...folding table and 4 folding chairs there.  I finally got it okayed from the manager to honor my rain check from last November from the Noblesville store.  I got the set $10 cheaper which was $34 cheaper than the set I saw at Meijer's yesterday!  Then I went to Bath and Body and saved $10 on a $30 purchase.

Tomorrow I need to call where I took my car to have the electrical stuff checked last December.  I have noticed that the A/C doesn't get cold.  I don't think it is freon (sp)...I really think they didn't hook something back up when they removed the dash to check the instrument panel.  Hope that is all and they fix it for zilch!  And quick!

Ivalou is home and I visited with her for about an hour catching up on all the news from Ohio.  So glad to see her...I missed her.

Now it is time to get my feet up and watch some TV.  It was so warm in here when I got home, I shut off the fireplace and the solar heat and opened a few windows.  And in less than an hour, I was chilled.  So I shut the windows and the fireplace and solar heat is running again.  Getting comfortable once again.

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I'm really worn out from caring for an alzheimer's patient whose niece is in the hospital. The niece and her mother (this alz. man's sister) have moved him here to their apartment to care for him.

What a struggle they're having! I'm now emotionally worn out from this, so it really helps me know what and how to pray for these two courageous women, one of whom is 56 and the other is 78. The man is 81.

Larry, I'm so sorry to hear of continuing heart problems. We'll continue praying with you and rejoicing for the wonderful years you've been blessed with. And, to see your daughter now in the Kingdom is such a wonderful blessing for you and your wife.

Pat, I used to either play the piano or the organ as the need arose. Now, it's nice to be "serenaded" by others but will fill in occasionally as asked.

Y'all have a great remainder of the day.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Samantha

Marilyn, thanks for the explanation, I couldn't make the transition from an AG church to a Baptist church (not that one is better than the other)  I am a member of a Baptist church, but like you said, its spirit filled, not traditional.  I don't want to be anywhere where the spirit is not. 8)

Terry preached this evening on the Hebrew men in the fiery furnace.  How we all have our own fiery furnace to be in, and get through with Jesus.  It was good, but of course, I have a biased opinion <3

Later,
Samantha
