Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Carol: My husband Don is with the angels.....Our family was able to hold  ourselves together for the last moments.  Juar rhoufhr you might want to know. 2022-04-29, 23:35:15

Hmmm, it's odd that I posted twice yesterday, once just prior to Judy's post, and then another in response to hers. Most likely we were posting at exactly the same time.

So, even if it's lost, you didn't miss too much. It was a busy day yesterday and will continue to be so today. The back to back events: a charity barbecue at the TN School for the Blind, then a birthday celebration for a sweet elderly lady who has had a severe stroke. I certainly hope the get together will make her life better, if even for just a little while. Lastly, we're having a dinner after church, so I must plan and cook something for that time of fellowship, too. :)

Larry, thank you for finding that link to the song. I enjoyed it and the words were easy to understand. There must be several versions of songs that tell of being lifted up from the miry clay. Below is the text for the song I sang:

He Lifted Me Out

I was out on the broad way of sin and despair,
Crushed 'neath my burden of sorrow and care.
My constant companions were trouble and doubt,
Till Jesus reached down and lifted me out.

Refrain:
He lifted me out of the deep, miry clay;
He settled my feet in the strait, narrow way.
He lifted me up to a heavenly place,
And floodeth my soul each day with His grace.

I was wand'ring afar from my Saviour and home;
Fainting and weary in sin did I roam.
I needed a hand to turn me about.
Then Jesus reached down and lifted me out.

I was building my home on the dry, shifting sand,
Casting my lot in a cold, barren land.
"You're doomed now for aye," I heart Satan shout;
But Jesus reached down and lifted me out.

I have started for heaven, my heart filled with song.
Wand'ring is over, my sins are all gone;
Thro' Jesus' own blood cleansed within and without,
Oh, praise His dear name! He lifted me out.

This is such a precious song. I wish I could locate the midi so y'all could hear it. I searched YouTube, but another song came up - it was nice, but not THIS song. As a young girl, my family would gather round the piano, especially when my beloved great aunt and great uncle came from West Virginia to visit on their 2 weeks vacation each year. This was one of the songs that they would ask me to play. We all harmonized, and since I was playing and no one else was available to sing tenor, I sang it. To this day, the harmonizing parts are really special to me, for they seem to complement the beautiful melodies so well.

Janet, hope your reunion turns out well, and that you won't get too tired.

Etta Sue, it's so good to hear you're going about your life "sans cataracts." Surely makes a big difference in both clarity and in colors, doesn't it.

I know I've not mentioned all our posters, but know they are read and enjoyed and prayed over. :)

Much love to everyone,
Ruth Ann

It's another of those beautiful, ideal days today.  One of those days when it's easy to rejoice.  Janet, I hope your family reunion can rejoice in the same wonderful weather.

  Good morning to all on C.P.   Well again it seems that I have not been on C.P. for a while and I am sorry.  It seems that so many things are going on and it keeps us busy.  I still say I don't know how I had time to go to work before I retired. :thumbsup:

Well it seems that you all have been very busy also and that is good.  Our grand children have been keeping us busy as we have to help looking after them as mummy and dad are working so we do have to help sometimes.

Paul and Pat.  A belated happy Anniversary to you both and it seems almost impossible that 4 years have past.

Larry and Pat.   Hope that you and your daughter are doing well and may the Lord richly bless you. :)

Please continue to pray for Noreen and Her back problems as they still are just the same.  I had a M.R.I. for my hip yesterday and do continue to have some pain with it but the Lord continues to get us through.

May the Lord bless you this weekend and have a wonderful day in his house tomorrow,  Love in Christ,  Gordon and Noreen. :) :cp: :pine: :bananadance:

These scanner covers were made of heavy denim.  I used both denim and leather needles in my machine.  Last night I didn't sleep well......was thinking I had left something undone.....

UP and back here hopefully today will be a lazy one.

The yard is mowed for another week.  I didn't think it really needed mowed today but it rained last night and is suppose to rain Monday and Tuesday...so it was mowing today or tomorrow.  Didn't want to mow on Sunday so it is done....and it did need it!

The eye doctor said that my vision in my left eye is really good.  I took that to mean that it was better than some of the other people.  I told them that I was very pleased with my vision...that I could see far away AND see my fingerprints and everything in between the far and near!  I may not be able to read the tiny small print but how many people reads that anyway?  THEN they dilated my eyes!  I couldn't see a thing on the way home and even until I went to bed at 10pm last night.  Today is fine!  I can resume all my regular activity...wear eye make up, can rub my eyes some, can bend over but avoid lifting heavy weights for a couple of more months!  Can't wait to wear some eye makeup.  It's been a long time that I could see my eyes when I put on my makeup!!

And Janet, when I was a teenager I used that Nestle's Rinse to color my hair...it washed out after about 6 washings.  And it was a fad to peroxide a portion of your bangs.  I did that.  But I have never used a hair dye on my hair...never.  What you see on me is natural...dark brown and gray!

And they made me an appointment with my regular eye doctor June 8th.

So yesterday afternoon I took a nap and went to bed early.  Also slept until fairly late today.  I am done with 'work' today so will do some reading this afternoon since I am caught up on TV shows also.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Ruth Ann Bice

Well, this day ended up being pretty hectic. In order to take medication to my son, attend that barbecue at the School for the Blind, go to the elderly lady's birthday bash, and then got a call that several of the items I put a bid on at the silent auction actually ended up being mine!

So that called for another round trip back to the School for the Blind again.

Then, since this apartment had NO bread, and NO fruit, and a coupon for $1.50 off on purchase of something I use regularly, I dashed into the store and bought exactly that...nothing extra. :)

Now, it's time for a long nap. Temperatures here exceeded 91 degrees today, and are predicted to go to 95, tomorrow!

May our Lord grant good rest this evening.

Ruth Ann, your weather report sounds like ours today.  Suppose to get to 96 degrees!  I plan to come home from eating out today and read.

Years ago I read 'Clan of the Cave Bears' by Jean Auel.  Then the second book came out and I read it.  I found out recently that the 6th book is out!!  So.  I went to Amazon dot com and got the four that I didn't have.  I started reading Clan of the Cave Bears again yesterday.  My Dad read this also and he was to come to our house January 30th, 1987, to watch the movie on HBO.  He was killed January 13th that year.  Every once in a while when reading this again, I think 'my dad held this book and read these words'.

I am ready for church and as I say, home this afternoon to read.  According to the radio, Speedway is a traffic jam as I type!!

SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

Larry Hanna

Hi Everyone.  I slept in this morning until 8 am as no coffee group to attend this morning.  Have had my breakfast and used liquid nails to glue together some 2x4 pieces tomake a small step for Stacey.  Her new bed it fairly high and she is short so wanted a little step for one foot to help get on her bed.  I hope that works for her.  We will take it to her on Tuesday.  Other than attending church and eating out for lunch there are no other plans for today.

Janet, my heart doctor told me he felt certain in was the stress that caused my heart problems as I had become a workaholic and was dealing with a number of other issues in my life.  Glad to hear your say that if you didn't get everything done you wouldn't hesitate to ask for help from other family members.

Ruth Ann, if anyone finds the midi or mp3 of that hymn I will be glad to fix it for us to have in our hymn library here.

Jeanne, it sounds like you had cooler temps than we are experiencing and now the tropical storm is going to impact the Georgia, Florida and South Carolina coasts.  I am wondering if we will get any cloudy or rainy weather from it.

Gord, good to see you posting.  We are all doing OK.  Pat will see the knee doctor on Tuesday and expect a knee replacement will be in the works after that as soon as possible.

Judy, sounds like you deserve a break and a nice restful weekend.

Etta Sue, I don't think anyone intends for us to read that tiny print as they seem to be making it smaller all the time.  Glad to hear your vision is so good.  Hope you enjoy your reading today.  I have never read those Jean Auel books as guess the size of the book was too much.
