Janet: Hello, Friends!  Let's get this going again!  I miss  hearing from all of you! 2025-01-23, 19:26:16

Don: Hey Judy, It's been a long time. Hope you are doing well. 2024-12-02, 22:41:41

JennyW: Hello Everyone! Just checking in to see if anyone wants to get this group going again! Hope all is well where ever you live! 2024-08-14, 08:21:59

Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Oldiesmann: So sorry for your loss Carol. Praying for you and your family :( 2022-05-01, 17:13:05

Jane:  I was just thinking about your having to have the place power washed and painted and if a group of you would go in together at the same time, perhaps you could negotiate a better price.  There has to be an answer for you - maybe the teens at church or even another larger church?

Larry:  I have missed events too because of forgetting the day of the week - cannot believe it sometimes.  Being with the family on a Thursday just threw me off yesterday.   ::)  Bet you were tired after that reunion on Thanksgiving.  I was so tired and it was all from visiting.

Al:  We wish the children would drive this way more often and it is super when they come.  They always have such complaints about the freeway up here and sure enough, there were 4 crashes so I had cell phone calls that two of their cars were parked on the road.  It is a terrible & fast road with speed limit of 75 mph and you cannot go that slow.  That will be the reason we will move closer to Denver.

SmokeytheDog:  Hello - you mentioned Euchre and Etta Sue plays that game - I bet that she is really good.  Why is Smokey a heel nipper, a cattle dog?

Carol

Pat most of the  Mobile home parks require that the homes are kept clean, power washing is the quickest way but sometimes it also removes some of the paint.  When I worked for Fay she paid a man $100. to hand scrub  the outside of her little 55 foot 1 bedroom trailer. He had to get on a ladder and scrub with a brush from the roof down to the ground. The parks have to keep up the appearances and cleanliness to avoid citations from the county and the state. So lets pray that God will send someone to Jane to clean her mobile home. The wet weather here cause mold, and mildew to grow on anything outside. Bill across the street gets green growth on his white truck if he does't wash it often.

I was awake at 3:30 this morning so I got up at 4:20, fed the dogs, read my Bible and prayed.  I got three new devotion books and a new NKJV study Bible in the mail yesterday that I had ordered from Crossings book club.  Today I am going to curves  because they weren't open yesterday and I don't want to go 4 whole days without exercising, then I will walk the dogs, shower and shampoo my hair, read some more and relax.

Hi Carol you posted while I was typing.

Etta Sue

Last evening while watching TV two firetrucks went by my house.  Very unusual that they use my road.  I looked out my windows and finally spotted a fire southwest of me.  Even looked on Google Earth and was hopping it wasn't Betty's house who goes with us to Beef and Boards or her son's house a few feet from Betty.  The fire was on my mind when I got up.  So I dressed and got in the car.  The fire was over a mile farther than either of the houses.  When I went past, it was a barn burning with those big round hay bales still smoldering.  But when I talked to Ivalou she said it was a mobile home...I didn't see any signs of that.  And Kitty said she heard it was a mobile home.  All I know is there were at least 8 round bales smoldering in a barn.

Fires are so devastating but multiplied when it is near the Christmas season.

Not much going on today.  Kaye Don and Barb left near 9am this morning.  Didn't call me but called Ivalou.  Again Barb left stuff in the fridge and now Ivalou has to go over and check out what needs to be taken out of the fridge so it won't spoil.  Barb does this every time they leave for Florida or any long vacation.  She lets Ivalou clean it for her!!  Nothing was said about putting out trash next Monday morning.

Cold in Indiana.  Brrrr!  Partly sunny but cold.

Cold here today too Etta Sue. I see on the news where the fires are burning again down in Malibu, those Santa Ana winds again.

I hve been to Curves this morning, I sure felt like  needed to go 4 days without exercise would be too much, however I didn't gain and or lose any over Thanksgiving. thank you Jesus.

I downloaded Photo story 3 from Microsoft Downloads and made a great video this morning, so much easier than Movie Maker which I never did use anyway.  So I made a video of a few photos of Happy and Bebe and posted it in my blog which is a smaller version of the one on photobucket and might  be easier for those with dial up to view (Jane, Al, JudyB). The one on photobucket is Here. It is so fun to make them.

I had a post but clicked the wrong button and all is gone  Marilyn thanks for sharing your Photo Stroy it looks simple perhaps when I have time to waste I will give it a try.

Now I will go for my cup of  :coffee:

It's just too cold to do anything outside today...  :-\  I will have to go bring some wood in pretty soon, but anything else will just have to wait.

Marilyn, I like the video you made of your canine kids ...   It's just one more thing I won't be doing for myself, however.  I don't have a digital camera nor anything to take pictures of, for one thing.  Another is that I have dial-up.  Another is that I just have no interest in having a blog or posting photos on the internet.  Not any more.  I sure like looking at everyone else's, though!   ;)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Do you enjoy Christmas music
at this time of year?

We can't get it on our radios anymore since it's "politically incorrect" BAH!!!

But we can get it on our computers and I have it playing all the time I'm at this computer!

Here's a link:

...I'm listening as I type, "Go tell it on the mountain"

Oh, now it's "I wonder as I wonder..."

I'll put a link down on the left with the other links.

Pat

There, done it!

Over on the left in the Links area, you'll see "REJOICE RADIO" and I leave it on the whole time I'm at the computer.  The other night, I couldn't sleep and so I got up and came down to the computer (which I hardly ever turn off) and there were some wonderful hymns playing in my computer room!

What a great station it is.  It's from Pensacola, FL   I click on the Windows Media link and it opens a little player that is hidden behind all of my other things that are open.

Away in a Manager
(Click to hear music)

She gave birth to her firstborn, a son.
She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7

Words: Verses 1 & 2, anonymous, in Little Children?s Book for Schools and Families, by J. C. File (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Evangelical Lutheran Church in North America, 1885). Some sources show the author as Martin Luther; this attribution (probably incorrect) is based on the title "Luther's Cradle Hymn," given to these words by the composer, James Murray, in his Dainty Songs for Little Lads and Lasses (Cincinnati, Ohio: The John Church Co., 1887). Verse 3 is by John Thomas McFarland (1851-1913)

Music: "Mueller," James R. Murray, 1887

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the Baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes;
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle til morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray;
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care,
And fit us for heaven to live with Thee there.

Carol

Yes heel nipping is what he does, although maybe I should change it to ankle biter. When he wants to play when I am walking around the house he starts growling and goes for the ankles. It's hard wakling (or running!) with a 40 pound dog around your ankles. He's part Shelty and Corgi, both of which have been used for hearding.
You might be a dog lover if:
You have more dog toys in your bed than people.

I'm up!  And, very grateful and thankful that I am up - we are going to the early service and then there is a Servant Builder's meeting - it used to be called Mission Task Force which I thought was just fine.  But - the head pastor wants us to be known as  servants so that is fine also.  Whatever - we will be planning more for next year.  So far, I know that Don and I cannot go to Nicaragua or the Pine Ridge Indian  Reservation as they are in July and there is no way we can handle the heat. Did I mention that the temps daily in South Dakota were up to 105 degrees - plus the fact that they have had so much help & some group has been going for ten years.   I am hoping that they think about helping close neighbors - close states when there is a tornado or flood.

Marilyn:  The black and white dog looks very similar to one of our favorite dogs - , he came to our house in the country and followed the kids - Husky, N. Elkhound - he was a faithful dog but he would take off once in a great while when he needed solitude then come back - Spike.  Great job!  I lost a pound after Thanksgiving - have not touched much of the leftovers and boy, it is hard to pass it up.

SmokeytheDog:  That is a long name, may I call you Smokey?  Can you spray a little water every time he nips your heels?  ouch ouch ouch

Very little snow in our mountains.  Our oldest son has now bought a house and is selling his cabin.  This will be easier to drive in and they intend to retire someday and spend summers in their place in Montana/  Well, we were barely thinking of retirement at this point in our lives after raising four children.  These kids are company executives and have one child - lovingly parents to be sure but they live a different life than we ever did - at least I was never at their work level.  Anyway, there is a bedroom for us to use so that will be exciting when we go to visit.  You never know - what is that saying?  "Man proposes, God disposes".

Nope, I must get ready and really hope that I don't cough like last Sunday.  6 weeks of coughing - it isn't all the time but just sneaks up on me.

Those fires in Malibu look so frightening.  All of those fires will raise our home insurance all over the country.

Carol

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It was another busy day yesterday as our daughter decided she wanted to go home so we did that after stopping at the grocery store so she would have food and so we could help her get it into her apartment since her back is in really bad shape now.  We enjoyed her visit but it is always nice to have our home back to normal.  I watched Georgia beat Georgia Tech yesterday afternoon and then tried to watch Missouri beat Kansas but fell asleep through most of the game.  I feel much more rested this morning.

We will be going to church in about an hour and then will eat out.  Nothing else on the schedule for today.

Carol, we just never know what our children are going to do.  I agree with you about not trying to do the mission work in such hot weather.  We still have mission teams going from our church to Mississippi to help with hurricane rebuilding and a team we send every year to central America.

Smokeythedog, it sounds like your dog is trying to herd you since he doesn't have anything else to herd.

Pat, thanks for the Christmas music link and posting the first Christmas music to be enjoyed here on CP.

Jane, it is also cold here in Georiga.  I just checked and it said it was 38 degrees and only to get into the 50s today.  Stay in and stay warm.

Hi Ruth.  I lost a posting the other day for the first time in a long time.  Just happened to hit some key, don't even know which one that wiped out the message I had typed.

Marilyn, glad you didn't gain weight this week and have been able to return to Curves.  I see those lplaces all around the Atlanta area, including here in our area.

Etta Sue, perhaps if Ivalou left the stuff in the refrigerator your sister-in-law would get the message that certain things are her responsibility.  I never heard of someone expecting someone else to do that except in an emergency.

Hope everyone has a great day.  I plan on enjoying this day that God has allowed me to have and am grateful for it.

Pat

Glad you enjoyed that, Larry.  The radio station is fantastic!

And here's some great piano playing for you all and great words as well.

There's a Song in the Air
(Click to hear music)

She gave birth to her firstborn, a son.
She wrapped Him in cloths and placed Him in a manger,
because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7

Words: Josiah G. Holland, The Marble Prophecy and Other Poems, 1872

Music: Christmas Song, Karl P. Harrington, 1904

There's a song in the air! There's a star in the sky!
There's a mother's deep prayer and a baby's low cry!
And the star rains its fire while the beautiful sing,
For the manger of Bethlehem cradles a King!

There's a tumult of joy o'er the wonderful birth,
For the virgin's sweet Boy is the Lord of the earth.
Ay! the star rains its fire while the beautiful sing,
For the manger of Bethlehem cradles a King!

In the light of that star lie the ages impearled;
And that song from afar has swept over the world.
Every hearth is aflame, and the beautiful sing
In the homes of the nations that Jesus is King!

We rejoice in the light, and we echo the song
That comes down through the night from the heavenly throng.
Ay! we shout to the lovely evangel they bring,
And we greet in His cradle our Savior and King!

Good Morning I won't stay long as my wrist is bothering me some, mostly when using the mouse for any length of time. It isn't carpal tunnel I have a cyst or fatty tumor under the  wrist bone that has come up in the last couple of month since my last  Dr apt. I will be seeing the Dr in DEC. after my blood draw. I have been making another video this morning that I posted on SN.

Well brothers and sisters it is time for me to get ready for church.
