Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Hi everyone on this Friday morning. After a very busy day yesterday I am anticipating a much quieter day today.  The housekeeper will be here later this morning and I plan on getting a haircut and having a pedicure.  Before doing that I want to make up my frozen fruit and make some coleslaw to go with our ham for dinner unless Pat feels up to going out to eat for our main meal of the day.  She was feeling a little better yesterday so will just have to see what today brings.

Janet, glad you have heard that Mark is safe. I am shocked that Kansas should be the center of human trafficking.  I know there is a real problem in the Atlanta area.  I guess this is a problem we don't seem to hear much about.

I am sure keeping our friends in Florida, Georgia and the Carolina's in my thoughts and prayers as this hurricane is striking the coasts.  We have a flood advisory for our county.  The forecasts seem to be all over the place in terms of how much rain to expect.  Some say only and inch or so and other say we might get 3 to 6 inches of rain and winds of around 30 miles and hour.

Judith, that's beautiful!  Thank you!

Larry, I was really shocked, too.  I never even imagined that trafficking was affecting us out here "in the sticks", but no matter where you are, the evil will creep in.  We have to be vigilant in prayer and watching all the time.  And if we see anything suspicious, we need to have the national trafficking hotline in our phones, so we can report it quickly and get it checked out.  Sad state of affairs, but that's the devil at work.  :'(

I had a blood draw this morning, then treated myself by going to Bear Creek Coffee Company for a coffee and cinnamon roll to break my fast.   ;)  Any excuse will work if you are craving a cinnamon roll, I guess!  8)  Then I got my hair done, then to the home to visit Beth and John.  Our friend Mary walked in the door right behind me, and a friend from church came in just a few minutes later, so we had a good time of Christian fellowship.  Beth enjoyed it a lot, and I am so thankful for those who take the time to visit her--and John.

Hi everyone on a very rainy morning here in South Carolina.  My rain gauge shows we had almost 2 inches of rain since late yesterday afternoon but it appears the impact of the Hurricane is moving away from our area although a lot of the State is still being battered.  There was no wind damage in this area as far as I have heard.  The forecast shows a zero chance of rain tomorrow.

Yesterday didn't turn out as I had thought it might.  It was a very good day as Pat finally showed some significant signs of improvement.  She was able to get her hair cut and then about 2:30 we went out for a nice lunch/dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  She was so glad to get out of the house for awhile.  This morning she didn't feel the need to use the walker when she got up for the first time.  She still has a long ways to go but it is encouraging to her and to me.  I didn't have to cook anything yesterday although did fix my frozen fruit.  I plan on staying in today and will get the pedicure and haircut on Monday.

Judith another beautiful graphic with a most appropriate Bible verse.

Janet, it has been a long time since I had a really good cinnamon roll and they are probably my favorite roll.  So nice that Beth's friends are coming to say hi to Beth and John at the home.

A dreary, chilly, damp day here.  A little difficult inhaling the oxygen today, but I think that's because of the dampness in the air.  At least I hope that's what it is.   :)  Glad to know the hurricane seems to be losing most of its punch.

And I'm so glad that Pat seems to be on the mend with so much less pain.

After a short hiatus, I've returned and did a quick read through the week's happenings to try to catch up.  So nice to see some good news.  Jeanne, I am so glad you are back and hope you get back to full health quickly.  Jane, what a tough chapter in life you've just wrapped up, I sure hope the next brings you peace and comfort.  And Larry, how wonderful to hear that Pat is showing signs of improvement!  I'm sure you've been anxious for this milestone, but know that I (and probably a bunch of us, actually) have been anxiously and prayerfully looking forward to this also!

Judith, your posts continue to brighten the weekly threads and are a blessing to all who read them!

Ruth Ann, Janet, Gord & anyone else I missed, it is nice to hear from you all!

These past couple weeks have been very busy for me.  There are a lot of deadlines to meet for work coming up soon, and I feel like a cat-herder trying to stay on top of things.  Over the next month I will be traveling to Kansas City, Dallas, College Station (TX), Arizona and probably southern California for work.  Just to keep things exciting, my Mom has decided to move to Aberdeen SD to be closer to her sister.  She moved in with us a year ago, after her husband passed away.  I think it will be great for her and her sister to be close to each other again, as they've been 1500 miles apart for over 20 years.  So I spent today packing up all her stuff at my house, and will rent a trailer late this week and bring her belongings to her next weekend.  Her furniture and other belongings are still in storage in CA, so my cousin there will help me get all that loaded up and moved to SD the first week of November.  Hopefully we get everything done before the weather makes travel tough.

Lots of other things happening to keep life interesting, but nothing noteworthy enough to bore you all with!  I hope you all have a blessed Sunday and week to follow!

Speaking of herding cats, I hope you will take a couple minutes to watch this video - it will put a smile on your face  ;D

Hi everyone on a beautiful cool and sunny Sunday morning here in South Carolina.  A lot of our State has been adversely affected by the Hurricane and now some areas are facing flooding as the recovery period starts.  Today will be my usual Sunday with Sunday School and Church and then picking up something to bring home for lunch.

Yesterday Pat had a very good day, which made two in a row, and wasn't even using her walker.  She helped me with a couple of things in the kitchen, including stuffing the peppers that I made the filling for using cauliflower rather than rice with the meat, sauce and spices.  They cooked on low all afternoon and were very good. She was able to sleep in her own bed last night rather than the easy chair but she isn't up yet so haven't had a report on how well she slept during the night.

I will limit comments today as have less than an hour before needing to leave for Church and still have to fix Pat's breakfast.

Ken, thanks for your comments.  I know we all pray for each other.  You are going to be busy resettling your mother.  I hope all of that goes very well.  It looks like your work requires a lot of travel.

Larry, thanks for the good news that Pat has been so much more comfortable!.

Well, Canadian Thanksgiving here in our country!

I was late out with daughter Janice and her husband Phil down in Hamilton at my grand daughter's home.  What a fantastic meal we had!

So, here's a LINK to get to our new "Thoughts for the Week" for the coming week!
