JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Morning Devotional...

WALKING IN THE OLD PATHS
Jeremiah 6:16
By the late Jack Scott

10.  The Shepherd's Psalm--Part (iv)

The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

Some years ago, I was hiking alone in England. The trail (or as the English say, the "footpath") was isolated and very poorly marked. This is a rare situation in England, known to hikers as the land of well marked trails. At one point, as I later discovered, only a couple of miles from the end, I became disoriented. I was tired and lonely and hungry. There seemed to be no other humans for miles. What should I do now? I longed to meet another hiker, or a local resident; even a friendly dog would have been a relief. No one suddenly or miraculously appeared. No laughing border collie wagged its welcoming tail.

What would you have done in similar circumstances? Well, I found a comfortable rock, slipped off my rucksack and sat down. Then I ate the lunch I should have eaten about two hours earlier and drank a half of a liter of water. My energy returned. Using my map and compass, I figured out my location and with a spring in my step, walked to the bus stop in the little town that marked the end of my hike.

As we move on to verse three of Psalm 23 and meditate upon it, we see the wonderful promises it contains for life's journey. "He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake" (Psalm 23:3) The words are overflowing with comfort and encouragement for all the members of the Good Shepherd's flock. No believer is left out and it is applied on an individual basis. The lovely truths of this psalm are not mere generalities. We do not read: "He restores our souls" Such a statement would be welcome encouragement for God's people, but how grandly greater is the assurance "He restores my soul". He cares about me! He loves the world but, praise His name He loves me. Yes, my friend, if you are His you can personally claim this blessing of restoration, no matter how withered and drooping you feel.

Day by day we all move along, sometimes reluctantly on the journey of life. At times our happy feet march to the triumphant music of success. At other times we drag ourselves weary and worn, and perhaps even broken along the ruggedly steep paths of life over rocks and ridges and along precipices dangerous and frightful. This lies in the nature of being human. Sometimes we have cheerful and supportive companions on this great trail of life. These may include a spouse, family, friends or fellow Christians. But at times we plod on not only tired but seemingly alone and perhaps unwanted. The way seems miserable, the going is rough and the shadows are lengthening.

When the traveling is wearisome and lonely, and our minds are stretched, elastic like, to their limits the awful ghosts of past sins and desires are inclined to haunt us. Regrets dart from the dark recesses of the mind and mingle with the cares of today and the fears of tomorrow. Like a delicate flower on a dry and windswept hillside we begin to wither, and the serene look gives place to frowns and wrinkles.

When our spiritual pilgrimage becomes unbearable, we need to take time out. We must take time to rest in God's presence. As the Bible enjoins us we must be "Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10)

If we take time to rest in His presence we can refresh our spirits as we enjoy the sustenance of God's word and drink deeply at the "wells of Salvation". Then using the compass of God's truth, we can set our course towards home in the eternal City, just as our great spiritual forefather Abraham did. "By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God." (Hebrews 11:8-10).

If our own foolish misconduct, our own sin and rebellion is the root of our withered and miserable condition, restoration is, bless God, still available.  And who among us has not sinned over and over again in the years since first we trusted Christ? God calls us to confession and repentance and provides cleansing for the sinning hart. The gospel for the sinning saint is found in I John 1:6-9, "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us, If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." And believing this we can humbly say amen to the words, "He restoreth my soul".

King David cried out to God in anguish of soul "Hide Your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways and sinners shall be converted to You." (Psalm 51:9-13).

God heard his heart rending wail "Hide thyself from my sins and blot out all my iniquities." God graciously restored David to fellowship with Himself and gave him back the joy of salvation.

David and every other repentant, sinning believer can claim with joy overflowing: "He restoreth my soul." Only the forgiven can appreciate the warmth of His tender love.

Perhaps one of my friends will confess in his or her own heart. "I have repented oh, so often; but I keep falling on the rocks of temptation and sliding on the slippery scree of evil desire. What can I do? I've tried to gain the mastery over a particular weakness and failed again and again. I think I am doomed--sin is in my very nature". Like David, you cry out "Behold I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." (Psalm 51:5)

There is good news in the verse before us for those who are in such a predicament. Look at Psalm 23:3, "He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake."
God's children have yearned over the centuries for power to break the binding habits of sin. The Lord Jesus taught His own disciples to pray, "Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil." Does God answer this prayer? Yes, if we obey His command in Jeremiah 6:16, "Thus says the Lord: 'Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is. And walk in it: Then you will find rest for your souls. But they said, 'We will not walk in it'."

We are to ask after the old way, and upon finding it we are to walk therein. Many professing Christians, like Jeremiah's hearers, sadly refuse to walk in the old paths; they are doomed to keep on repeating the same old sins, and living the same old life of spiritual mediocrity. The path can be found where the Lord Jesus is. After the resurrection, two of His disciples made a journey to Emmaus. These two disciples don't appear to have been any of the twelve apostles, and it seems probably that they were a married couple. In any case, they were sad and discouraged. Their hopes had been dashed--the one they thought would deliver their nation from the iron yoke of Roman bondage was dead and buried. There was something however, that they didn't know about. Christ had risen from the dead in triumph over sin and the grave.

A marvelous thing happened as they trod the weary Emmaus Road that day. "So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them." (Luke 24:15) These two dear people didn't recognize their beloved master until later but something should have tipped them off--the presence of the Man of Calvary made a great difference to their walk that day, "And they said to one another, 'Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?'." (Luke 24:32).

If we walk in His company and seek to know Him in the scriptures, our hearts too will burn within us. They will burn with love to Him and with a strong desire to obey His commandments. Then shall we understand in a spiritual sense the words of Isaiah 35:1, "The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them." And they shall walk in "the Way of Holiness" (Isaiah 35:8 ) and we will experience the promise of Psalm 23:3, "He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake".

Pat, thank you for sharing that devotion. I love that scripture, and am so thankful for the interpretation.

I have a thankful heart, and also my heart is very burdened tonight.

Thanksgiving because my son arrived at his destination - very late in the night, but safely - and then a couple of hours later had to have his pre-school physical exam. He passed, thanks to our Lord, and then he was able first to spend an hour or so meeting the lady (plus her daughter, and grandson) who helped me through Christian friendship and love helped me when my hubby died. They had lunch together, and spent time in Christian fellowship before they left to return to Indianapolis, while he hunkered down to study the manual some more. :)

My heavy heart is for a family member absolutely paralyzed with depression tonight. Please pray that our Lord will reach out to that person in mercy, love, forgiveness, and healing tonight. Thank you so much.

Hi everyone.  We had a little rain last night and significantly more, in the range of 1 to 2 inches, is predicted for today and tomorrow.  This is going to be a busy day as Pat has PT this morning and I have my men's Monday luncheon.  After that I need to stop at Aldis as will be near it and pick up somethings that we need that are less expensive there.  It is a small store so doesn't take long and not so tiring.  I will come home and rest for the afternoon and then have a meeting to attend this evening.  Tomorrow should be a day of rest to catch up.  Pat did go to church with me yesterday and then we stopped at Johnny's Pizza for a bite of lunch.  That was plenty for one day.  I woke up a little after 4 am this morning and couldn't go back to sleep so got up at 6 am.  Sure glad that isn't an every morning experience.  I will go to coffee at McDonald's this morning.

Ruth Ann, so glad that your son had a safe trip and that he passed his physical.  Sorry to read of the despair of your other family member.  Life has its mountain peaks and deep valleys such as depression.  I hope your family member will seeks some professional help.

Pat, thanks for sharing Jack's wonderful devotional writing.  He really had a way with words and getting his thoughts across in his writing.

Al Moak

Yes, Pat - thanks for giving us Jack's words once again.  They were the words I needed this morning.  Thank our Lord for all His undershepherds, who are His means of reviving us when we need it.

Jeanne Lee

Pat, thank you for this morning's devotion.  Jack certainly was inspired in his interpretation of scripture and had a wonderful ability to explain so that we can all understand.

I will be going to work at the clinic shortly. I tood grubby in this morning to be neutered and when they tested him for Feline Aids he came back positive and they wanted to Euthanize him, Keith is adamant that they will NOT kill  Grubby, so I told them to go ahead an neuter him and he will be an inside cat from now on.

Janet

Hello, everybody.  Another busy week has started.

Darrel and I went to Hugoton this morning, then to the bank and P.O. then to lunch, after which we both had toenail appointments.  It seemed like it took the nurse FOREVER to get us done, but we are finally back home.  I got the laundry caught up and we both packed our bags.  May be a few more things to add, but we are almost ready to leave on Thursday morning early.

I'm not planning to take the laptop along this time, unless I change my mond.

We had supper with the family last night, and I got to hold little Jenna all evening, with no competition!  I had expected Abby to take her the minute she came in the door, but she didn't!  Tiny babies are just the sweetest things in the world.

I had the best night's sleep last night that I've had in three weeks, so I had Darrel go to the drugstore while he was waiting for me to get my feet done, and get me some allergy pills.  I have hardly coughed or sneezed today, so thankful for that.

See you all later!

Janet, what route will your tour be taking?  Will you be anywhere near northern New York and the Adirondack Mountains?  I know you won't have a chance to make any side trips, but I wish it were possible and that we could finally meet.  If the Lord wills it, someday it will happen.   :)  Meanwhile, enjoy!

Hi everyone.  We had a very rainy night and were under a tornado watch until 3 am, although didn't stay up to monitor it until then. It is still overcast and we may get some more rain today.  I got through yesterday OK although it was a tiring day.  I did watch part of the Atlanta Falcons/Denver Broncos game after I got home last evening and then listened to the remained on the radio so that I could shut my eyes.  Of course I missed quite a bit of the game as I fell asleep until the end but woke up in time to hear that Atlanta and won.  I plan to go for a haircut this morning and attend a meeting and that will be it for today.  We had a call about 4:30 this morning from our daughter (and it is never good to get a call at that time of the morning and it wasn't).  She had been in the ER since about 9 pm last evening with chest pain, blood pressure severely out of control and vomiting, which she had been doing for a couple of days.  This time she had called 911 rather than trying to take herself to the hospital in her power chair as she has done numerous times before.  She now lives several blocks further from the hospital than where she had been living.  We haven't heard anymore from her this morning but certainly expect she will be admitted.

Marilyn, I didn't realize that cats and dogs could have AIDS.

Janet, you were lucky in being able to hold the baby all evening.  Glad you finally got a good nights sleep and hope the same happened last night.

Janet

Thanks, Larry, I did sleep well again.  I am always so thankful when I can get a good night's sleep!

Sorry to hear your daughter is having more trouble, glad she didn't try to go to the hospital by herself this time and pray she gets quick relief from her symptoms.She has certainly had her share of sickness and suffering.

Ruth Ann, glad about the "glimmer."   <3

Tonight is our big Home Products Dinner.  This is the yearly one where everything served is grown right here in Grant County.  Some exceptions: tea, salt, pepper.  And there are usually around 2,000 people in attendance.  Since this is an election year, we will see a lot of politicians this time, but they do not get to speak!  The governor will be there and will have a very short speech.  I really like our governor, Sam Brownback.

The house cleaner is here for her bi-weekly two hours, so I'd better get off here and keep her directed!

Carol

Pat. It is always such a lovely message. Thank you for refreshing a memory.

Larry. thank heaven for 911 response for Stacey. I do pray for her and everyone here.

we leave the quiet of a San Juan Island tiny cabin tomorrow.  I can get wifi from the lodge area. But no cell phone nor can they get t v   It is a lovely place to contemplate.  catching two ferries tomorrow to go to Ocean Shores a d will see two nieces.

Marilyn

Larry only cats get Aids, not dogs and it is not transferable to humans or dogs.  Grubby is resting quietly this morning, I gave him the pain medication as soon as I was dressed. He spent last night in the garage in his own bed, this morning he is sleeping down in the Master bedroom in Happy's big fluffy round bed. We are keeping a close eye on him, and will take good care of him for the remainder of his life.

Not much else going on around here, I have little computer time these days especially on the days I am working at the clinic.

Carol

We are all packed and have to drive 10 miles very early in the morning for the 8 AM ferry - the line is very long and we should not miss it.

Don is coming down with a cold and feels exhausted and we have reservations and meetings for the next wee - he was able to take a long nap today.  We spaced meetings with relatives and friends quite apart  but apparently much too often and Don is quite worn down.  Just trying to do the least amount now and getting through the next week.

Calls from the children - one was able to SYPE on the computer only if we are sitting close to the main house.  The radio gets a Bellingham station and lots of Canadian stations.  We sat on a log today and just listened to silence and did hear a loon on the salt water cove.  Grateful for the refreshing look at life and all in nature.

Janet

Carol, maybe you and Don need a "no relations vacation" for a change.  I know you love being a good hostess, but it seems yo0u are both wearing yourselves thin.  Please take care of yourselves.  (And yes, that is the pot calling the kettle black!)  ;)  I hope Don feels better and you can enjoy your time away.

I'm just home from the Home Products Dinner, which was successful as always.  It is a real tribute to the citizens of Grant County to see what working together can accomplish.  And Judge Webb is a wonderful speaker, uplifting and encouraging,.....and Christian!!

I need to get to bed----tomorrow, folks!

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee at McDonald's and stopping at the drive-thru at the Kroger Pharmacy to pick up a prescription for Pat.  I was feeling pretty good when I got up after a good nights sleep but not sure this is going to be a very good day.  Yesterday was a lost day to me as didn't do anything I had planned and spent a lot of time laying down.  It may be similar today.  Neither Pat nor I felt like trying to go to the mid-week Bible study.  However, they were just going to show a video as our pastor has gone to Honduras with our church mission team for their annual trip.  They build latrines and chimneys or whatever else needs to be done and hold Bible school for the children.  I think this was the 13th year of this mission trip.

Stacey was admitted to the hospital yesterday and was to have a stress test today.  She was told yesterday that the left side of her heart is not working well and the heart problem may well have been the source of the vomiting and diarrhea she had experienced for the two days prior to going to the hospital.  We haven't heard from her this morning and Pat just now tried to call her but there was no answer so she probably is having the stress test or some other test right now.

Janet, it seems like only a couple of months ago that you had the big Home Products Dinner.  That sounds like an exceptional thing for your county to do and a nice way to bring folks together.  Glad you don't have to listen to a lot of politicians.  We have had a lot of corruption revealed in our county government in the last couple of years and just yesterday two more were sentenced to jail for their illegal activities.  Our entire county commission has been replaced.  It is a sad note but suppose it has always been this way to some extent.  Where ever there is a lot of money involved, and there is in our county, there seems to be corruption.  You remind me of my dear mother who would only allow the housekeeper to work for one hour as she didn't want to spend more than the $6 hourly pay.  Our daughter, as does yours, seems to become more ill every few months.  I have lost track of how many hospitalizations she has had already this year.

Carol, enjoy your quiet time without TV or cellphone.  I bet you all will survive the ordeal.  :)  It bet you have enjoyed a restful time.  So sorry to hear that Don is getting a cold and not feeling well. I hope he will take care of himself and get the rest he needs.

Marilyn, I didn't know that about dogs and getting Aids and that the variety that cats have, thankfully, is transferrable to humans or dogs.  I bet the vet is happy to have your volunteer help on those four days.

Etta Sue

Euchre is all over but the shouting!!  And yes, I do start early to prepare.  Eight people in my house stresses me out.  I never had that many here before except for Euchre.  One child, no grandchildren...no need for big meals!  Everything went fine other than when I turned on the oven to bake some bread, the oven smelled like rubber!!  I checked and there was a rubber jar opener at the hinge of the oven!!  I keep two of them with my hot pads and one must have stuck to a hot pad and let loose the last time I got something out of the oven.  Oven is fine and jar opener is fine, too!

The other thing, I fixed a Corn Salad and just before serving you mix in a bag of Chili Fritos.  Jody brought a bag of regular Fritos...I used them instead of my Chili Fritos.  No one noticed but me...after everyone was gone!  But all went well.  Now I can breathe until I have Euchre the next time!

I still have card table and chairs to take to Ivalou's garage but that can be done anytime...at least before Christmas!

The pool at Noblesville closed yesterday for maintenance and installing a new ventilation system...better and quieter!  So I am going to a different facility this afternoon to exercise.  My body needs it!  Then I need a few groceries and then check on Bob and Kitty's two cats.  They are in St. Louis and the cats need TLC.

That's it.  Oh...not a cloud in the sky in Hoosier Land.  A little chilly....only 62 degrees right now.  Fall is in the air!

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

Yesterday seemed to be a busy day with playing piano and singing at the downstairs devotion service, then lunch with friends, then helping 2 different ladies work a bit on their computers.

So, I let me sleep in this morning. ;) We loved the quiet rest!

I do so much appreciate the love for, worry about, and prayers and faith in regard to our children.

Marilyn, one of our cats also had AIDS, but it never spread to the other cats living in the house at the same time.

Well, this apartment either needs a RotoRooter, a MerryMaid, or a Ms. Goodwrench! So, I will be applying loving care to it today.  :crazy:

Love to all,
Ruth Ann

Janet

Larry, it surely was good to read a nice long post from you today.  I hope you will have far more good days than lost ones.

I made the HUGE mistake of drinking one cup of coffee last night at the HP Dinner, and it cost me an entire night's sleep.  So I am feeling really tired today but must finish getting my things together for the trip.  Darrel's suitcase is already zipped up and sitting ready to load into the car.  Two ladies, one a painting friend, from Scott City will be spending the night at our house tonight as they are going on the trip.  That will save them a long drive before, 6:30 in the morning.  The other painting friend has a really bad case of Sciatica and cannot go; but Linda's next-door neighbor was asking her about her trip and said how she would love to do that---so Linda called to see, and trip leader said she could take Winona's place!  So she had a day and a half to get ready!

I need to get the fresh sheets on the bed for those gals, and pick up some, or they will wonder what kind of chaos we live in around here!   :o

So if I don't get back here this evening, I will be back in two weeks--on Oct. 2.

God bless you all!

Have a fun trip Janet.

For the last two night I have only slept off and on after 1am. The first night I couldn't turn my  mind off  a bread recipe that I have to post for someone on another website.

Last night I keep thinking about Grubby.

Larry:  I just found out today that your darling Atlanta football team won over Peyton Manning - apparently he threw three interceptions.  Poor guy!  He is still getting used to the altitude.  .... Stacey's tests on her heart must be so concerning for Pat and you as well as Stacey.  My deep and profound prayers for all as you digest this news.

We left Snug Harbor in the deep fog this morning and still got to the ferry an hour early.  Only problem was the earliest ferry was cancelled which put us so far out that we were scheduled for the next one -- that was late then we drove and drove to the 2nd. ferry and two of them were cancelled so we were about 4 hours late getting to Ocean Shores.  Whew - shared a plate of fish and called our nieces so they know we are here and in for the night.  Tomorrow, we will meet when they get off work or whatever they want.

Our landlord and landlady at the last place have a son with a serious disease and we are praying for him - they are older than us and having to keep running the B & B just to help financially.  They do very well physically & are charming people.

Janet:  Calling the kettle black!!!  Safe journey for you too.

Ruth Ann:  Your weekly song fest and bible gathering always sounds so sweet and friendly.

Marilyn:  May you sleep well tonight!  You deserve to sleep through the night.

Only another week and we will be home and is the calendar ever full.  We have had a grand time with my cousins discussing bible books and sermons.

Good Morning!   I'm just stopping by for a moment before I'm out the door, heading south to California.  I will be gone about a week and, most likely, will not have access to a computer, so that will be tough but I'll manage somehow.  :)

Y'all behave, now, and I'll see you when I get home.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Hi everyone.  I am a little late getting here this morning as I went out to get a haircut, stop at Aldi's for some milk and then at Kaufman Tire to get the pressure checked in the tires as the gauge showed low pressure.  So now it is almost lunch time.  Pat's PT is at 1 pm today rather than the normal 11 am.

We had a call from Stacey this morning saying the cardiologist had just been to see her and told her that the tests showed that her heart is so damaged that there is really nothing else they can do for her.  If I feel up to it after Pat's PT I will make a trip to the hospital to see if I can help lift her spirits a bit.  I have been told the same thing but choose to live my life not as a victim but as one who wants to live each day to the best of my ability for as long as I have.  Our state of mind is so important.  She is still dealing with some other health issues so have no idea how much longer they will keep her in the hospital.

Etta Sue, I bet the rubber smell gave everyone something to laugh about.  We are having nice weather here also.

Ruth Ann, loved your comment about needing RotoRooter, a MerryMaid, or a Ms. Goodwrench!  That does sound rather extreme.  :)

Janet and Marilyn, I am sorry to read that neither of you had a sleepful night.

Carol, those three interceptions all occurred in the first quarter of the game. Sounds like you had a tough day trying to get on the ferry.

My, if that low-flying airplane hadn't been so noisy, I would still be in bed!  Like Mom used to say, 'if you didn't need the sleep, you wouldn't sleep so much!'  I slept almost around the clock!

Then up and I showered, then changed the sheets on the bed.  The bed clothes are in the dryer.  Breakfast and Bible devotions are done.  Drinking my 2nd cup of coffee!

Nothing pressing today...just need to go check on Kitty's kitties after I think the mail has ran.  Then back home for a big bowl of popcorn!

The nights are getting cooler.  Why does it seem cooler in this house?  The temp is the same.  But I did put a heavier quilt on the bed when I made it today!

There are a few puffy clouds in the sky and the sun will shine, then go away.  There is a little breeze but not much!  Typical fall day! I see the trees across the way are turning a little.  Mid October is our normal peak fall beauty season.  I saw my first cornfield being picked yesterday!  The fall picking season has started!

I had to cancel going out with the nieces tonight for supper.  Don is not feeling well at all - it may have been the weirdly seasoned clam chowder at lunch but I had the same dish.  Anyway, he is just miserable and our nieces will come by and visit with me in the lounge area of this place after 8 PM or so - just have to "see" them - we saw one at her work site for about five minutes to say hello.  Know that we are all in God's gracious hands every minute of our lives.

Ruth Ann:  I wanted to send you a smiley face for your son's new job.  May angels be riding with him as a new truck driver!

Larry:  Hugs and prayers for Stacey.

Hi everyone.  It is a nice but hazy day today.  It is going to be a bit warmer today.  Nothing planned for today.  I did attend coffee at the Senior Center this morning.  I did go down for a short visit with Stacey yesterday and tried to cheer her up a little bit.  By the time I got there a little after 3 pm she had a severe headache and was having chest pain again.  However, spoke with her last evening and the pain had stopped.  They gave her something to help with the pain while I was visiting her.  I think she is more upset by realizing she must give up the bookkeeping volunteer job she has been doing for her church than the news she got yesterday.  I tried to help her understand that sometimes we have to make those changes that are the best for us and that someone else will be found to take on the duties at her church.  They are going to do an echo cardiogram on her this morning.

I just got an email from Kitty and Bob...they are on their way back from St. Louis.  So I don't have to check on the furkids today.

Soon after noon, I am taking Ivalou to her eye appointment.  She seems to think her sight is better in the eye with macular degeneration.  She said it is opaque now instead of dark.  I hope that is good.  She can see large things but not small things with her right eye.

Then since she has gift certificates at King Chef, we will go there for a late lunch since it is close by.  Then in that same shopping center is a Marsh.  Her daughter and SIL are coming this weekend and she wants to get in some groceries!  That way I can help carry them in for her.

That's it for today.  It is hazy and over cast today.  Hope it holds off the rain until we are back home.
