Good morning!  I didn't make it in here yesterday, as was busy all day.  We went to the gym, and after that, picked tomatoes and canned them with peppers and onions.  When we got them all scalded and peeled and cut up in the big pan, Darrel asked me how many pints that was, and I guessed six.  We had six pints with about a quarter of a cup left over.  :)  That's not really very many, but my body tells me I'm not as young as I was when I used to can hundreds of quarts of garden produce for my family!  ;)  I was pretty tired!  So I took a shower and dressed so I'd be ready to go to the Wednesday supper at church with Bible study following.  Last night was brisket--good!  Larry, I will think of you each Wednesday, knowing you are doing the same thing!  ;)

Beth and John are coming to the suppers as well.  It really is good for her, as the people are so friendly, and come by and pat her shoulder and tell her they are happy to see her.  Last night, one lady told her that she sits in the back of the church, but always looks for them and that their love is an inspiration to her.  I keep telling Beth God is still using her to shine His light in the world!

It seems summer is back, or else an early Indian Summer.  Lovely weather, I love it!

I'm waiting for Darrel to finish his tea so we can go to the gym.  Later, he has a chiropractic appointment.

Thanks for the update on Jeanne, Pat.  I'm still praying for her recovery, and for yours, as well.  It hurts me to know my friends are suffering, and praying is the best thing I can do to help you.  <3

Ruth Ann, I pray your son recovers quickly from pneumonia.  And you, from the allergies, as well.   <3

Carol, how are you today?  Thank for your greeting almost every day!  It means a lot to me.

Marilyn, are you and Freckles going to visit people today?  The Administrator of the home where Beth lives has a Cocker spaniel she brings to work with her every day, and one of the girls who worked there for years
brought her two large black mutts with her every day, too.  They were very well behaved, though.

It's nearly nine and Darrel's appointment is at 10:45, so I'd better see if I can pry him loose from the TV so we can go work out!   ;)

God's blessings to you all this day!

No visits today but Freckles and I will be going to  Avamere nursing home on Saturday. The last week of the month is usually free of visits.

I am going to make an apple pie or apple Crumble today and see how many apples are left after I do that, I may make another and freeze it if there are enough left over.

Hi everyone.  It is 65 degrees here this morning, which is the coolest temperature we have had for months.

Yesterday was a very busy day as Thursdays usually are.  While at the restaurant the follow I pick up on Thursdays litterly had to be picked up as he lost his balance and fell backward to the floor.  The only damage was a scraped top part of his hand. He fell into a table that slid away but apparently broke the impact of the fall.  He is a tall man but not steady on his feet.  After my Wisdom group at Church yesterday morning I stopped at the Dollar Tree store to get birthday cards for Pat to use in the card ministry she does for our Sunday School class and finally at Aldi's for some vegetables.  I felt good yesterday so didn't come home exhausted but was sure ready for a rest period.  Pat suggested that we go out to eat dinner and I certainly didn't argue with her.

Pat had a call yesterday that the Chiropractor's twins were being born and that his office is going to be closed until October 10th.  I have nothing on the calendar for today so am looking forward to a nice quiet day at home.

Janet, happy to see you all are attending a Wednesday night dinner at your church.  It is a nice time to get to know members of the church in a more casual setting and also experience more Bible study.  I remember my mother doing so much canning each year and seeing the jars lined up in our cellar.  My Spring of the next year the shelves were becoming bare again so we had enjoyed the food she had canned.  I bet the residents where Beth lives are very fond of the dogs.

Marilyn, a friend of ours from Church brought us a big container of fresh fruit and an apple pie.  I baked the Apple pie but have not yet eaten any of it but plan on doing so today.

Hi everyone on a lovely cool morning here in South Carolina.  It was 60 degrees when I got up this morning and only to get into the low 80's this afternoon.  This will be a laid back day for me as have nothing on my schedule.  Dinner is also taken care of with the exception of putting together a lettuce salad to go with the Chicken Pot Pie that our friend brought over a couple of days ago.  I didn't realize it was the Chicken Pot Pie until I cut it after supper last evening thinking it was going to be an apple pie.  Wow was I ever shocked when I saw the vegetables in it.  We had a good laugh over it.  Yesterday was also a quiet day.  I do plan on watching some football this afternoon.

Larry, your mistake on what kind of pie that was gave me a chuckle!  I expect your momentary disappointment that it wasn't apple was less than your relief that you had another meal ready when you need it!   :)Enjoy the games this afternoon!

We attended the funeral of the wife of one of Darrel's classmates this morning.  That was a really large family!  One daughter is the same age as Beth, and was in her class.  We didn't recognize each other, but she told me "I'm Tammy"  so I told her I'm Beth's Mom.

Today was Fall Fest here in our little town, and it appeared nearly everyone in town was downtown enjoying this gorgeous day.  They had a car show, a safety fest, and all kinds of booths selling things.  After going to the cemetery, we stopped by Pioneer Telephone for a free hot dog and chips.   ;)  So much for healthy eating today!

I have so much to do--but I'm so sleepy!  :sleepy:

Freckles and I went visiting this morning  at one of the Nursing homes. After lunch I took her to the pet store to shop with me, we bought her food and she picked out a big braided  piggie treat for herself, the we went to the Thrift Store and bought a nice pr of dress pants for me and cute western style blouse that snaps up the from and is long sleeved to go with the pants or my jeans.

We had Mexican dinner out last night at one of the places we used to love going to, however last night the food was  so greasy it left grease on the
plate and Keith has had to spend a lot of time in the loo. We won't be going back ther for a very long time.

Pat is there any news on Jeanne?

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I went out for a little while today and enjoyed the mild temperatures and bright sunshine.

I haven't heard from my son. I pray daily for him (and the rest of my family) but only am able to wait for him to contact me, since the internet function in his area is spotty at best.

Thanks to each of you who has posted. You brighten up my life.

I, too, pray for Jeanne, and so many others of us who have health problems or other issues.

Y'all have a good evening.

Ruth Ann

Hi everyone on this beautiful 61 degree Sunday morning.  I will go to Sunday School and Church this morning and then stop at Firehouse Subs for our lunch to bring home.  They have a very good salad that Pat will have for lunch and I will get one of the subs.

Yesterday was a pretty quiet day as stayed home all day.  I did watch the Georgia/Tennessee football game and what an exciting ending with Georgia going ahead with 10 seconds to go and then Tennessee throwing into the end zone to their tallest player and he caught it for a touchdown as the clock ran out and Tennessee won the game.  This afternoon, after resting awhile, I plan on watching the Carolina versus the Atlanta Falcons pro-game, although will likely take a little nap during the game.  I will probably put on my headphones and listen to Don's radio program at the same time.  I will just do a little multi-tasking.

Janet, we had some of that "apple" pie last evening as our evening meal and it was delicious.  It was the best chicken pot pie I think I have ever eaten.  We froze half of it and it will make a good meal in a few days when I don't really like cooking.  You really had a full day yesterday.  It is nice you are able to take in so many of the community events.

Marilyn, it sounds like your day was also a full one.  It is nice that the pet stores allow pets to be brought into the store while you shop.  Too bad about the Mexican restaurant.  They must have just had a bad day with perhaps a different cook or something.  Sorry to read that it caused Keith problems.

Ruth Ann, I hope you do get some word from your son.  Nice you were able to get out for a bit yesterday.  I expect you had a beautiful day up there as we did here.

Janet

Good Sunday afternoon to all of you!  We went to church, but Darrel isn't feeling up to par so he didn't want to stay for Sunday School today.  Beth and John actually got to church ahead of us this morning!  :)  I deduced from Pastor Todd's sermon that we are about to embark on a building or remodeling program.  More space is needed for the children, which is a really good sign!  Without the children, the church would die out in a short time.  None of us will be here forever!

Larry, glad you enjoyed that "apple" pie!  And nice that it will make you another meal, too.  I had just fixed me some cottage cheese with chopped sweet peppers and tomatoes last evening, as I thought Darrel had decided not to eat supper, when he said, "Let's go to town and eat a pizza!"  So I had the cottage cheese mix for my breakfast.  We have enough of the pizza for lunch, and it's nice not to have to worry about that meal.  Of course, pizza isn't exactly on the new eating plan we have been trying to start.  :-\

It's another really nice day today here.  I can really feel Fall in the air!  :)

Larry, we saw the end of that game, too, and it was really something!  What a sudden change of emotions for the teams and their fans that was.  That player was really tall, huh?

I am hoping to get a much better night of sleep tonight!

Any word on Jeanne?  On Pat?

Yesterday I made Four cheese Manicotti for supper, cooked one small chicken breast and cut that is half  for us and made some salad to go with that., After dinner I had a piece of the Apple crumble that I had made a couple of days ago and Keith had his usual Cake and Ice cream.

It has rained some here last night and today, but I've already had Freckles out for two walks, I have a loaf of Sunflower seed light Wheat bread baking in the oven. By light wheat I mean it is half white and half Whole Wheat.
