I choose kindness...
I will be kind to the poor,
for they are alone.
Kind to the rich,
for they are afraid.
And kind to the unkind,
for such is how God has treated me.

Morning Devotional...

Jesus on the Final Judgment
Matthew 25:31-46 NLT

"But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit upon his glorious throne.  All the nations will be gathered in his presence, and he will separate the people as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.  He will place the sheep at his right hand and the goats at his left.

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.  For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home.  I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.'

"Then these righteous ones will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink?  Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing?  When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?'

"And the King will say, 'I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!'

"Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, 'Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons.  For I was hungry, and you didn't feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn't give me a drink.  I was a stranger, and you didn't invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn't give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn't visit me.'

"Then they will reply, 'Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?'

"And he will answer, 'I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.'

"And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life."

Are you treating the people in your life in ways you would treat Christ?

God will separate his obedient followers from pretenders and unbelievers

The real evidence of our belief is the way we act.  To treat all persons we encounter as if they were Jesus is no easy task.  What we do for others demonstrates what we really think about Jesus' words to us--feed the hungry, give the homeless a place to stay, visit the sick.

How well do your actions separate you from pretenders and unbelievers?

It is finally cooling off in my house.  I opened the windows after church and it sure warmed up today.  Now that it is dark, there is a cool breeze coming in the windows.

I pray that we have many, many posts this week...if you think of anyone that hasn't posted for a long time, email, call or tell that person that we sure miss them and ask them to post and say hello to us.

Thanks for the reminder to post, Etta Sue!  I think our posts has sure gone down lately and I guess it hasn't helped either that I've been sort of on the go down here in Virginia and travelling back and forth to the Boston, Mass. area and then back and forth to Winchester, VA.

Now, a new week has started and as Etta Sue has reminded us all, let's keep up with the posting in here!

:)   Good evening to all.   It is good to read all the post's and to here all the news from each one that has had time to post.  I cannot believe that yesterday we celebrated my granddaughters 1st. birthday and it was so much fun to watch her open her gifts and she did it so well. Her cousin was there also and he of course wanted to help and it was so much fun to watch both of them.

Ruth Ann: Hi those b/p meds. can be a pain but you will get used to them.  I have been taking them for close to 20 yrs  Keep looking up.

Liz:  Will pray for Wendy it must be so hard for her but the Lord is able.

Janet:  Will also pray for Beth and I know what you are going through with getting the proper answers and also the run arounds that you get from the hospitals. God will give you the strength and have a wonderful time when you go away.

Pat;  It is so good to see your post back on C.P. we have missed you so much.  Love you sis.  Gord.

Jeannine:   Oh how much you must miss Michael but in your wonderful memorial service he has graduated to his heavenly home and no more pain and hardships he has a whole body Praise the Lord for this.  God will be with you and Frank and we will be praying for you.  Love in Christ.

Larry:  Hope that you are looking after yourself and Pat.  Thinking of your kids and their health problems and we hope that your daughters foot will heal.

This morning the person who spoke at our church used a pen in his message.  He asked us are we writing with the pen or are we letting God do the writing in our lives. If we had not given this to God there are many things that he referred to in his own life that when he did give it to God and handed the pen back to God that things changed  the scripture that he used was Hebrew's 12. 1-3 the message was very simple but  what he used as examples made it real in our lives.  May the Lord give you all a wonderful week and many oppertunities to witness for him.  God bless to all. <3

Ontario Canada is here!  Now the western states and western Canada will arrive in about an hour.  Not sure about the rest of the world!

Well I have finally mastered threading a sewger.  I am in a position of needing one not just wanting one.  I have a sweater to work on and a regular machine won't do.  So now for a serger!.......

Par inquiring minds want to know how the house is progressing?  Do you have pictures?  How was the Birthday party for the new grandaughter?  I know you enjoy your time with Jim's family so much.  How is the baby?

Gord It seems like yesterday you were tellingus that you had 2 new grandchildren.   Was that a year ago already?

Well back to work....Mondays are slow days, so I can get caught up on other things.

Morning Melody!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is a beautiful day here in Georgia with clear skies and low humidity.  I am just back from coffee at McDonald's with six other retired men and then I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart for a little restocking.  I am going out to lunch with some other men friends, as I usually do on Mondays, and this evening Pat and I are meeting other friends for baby-back ribs at one of our favorite places and then we will go to their house for a little while.  So it will be a busy day, at least of eating and visiting.

I had a good nights sleep but wanted to sleep in this morning.  It was a good thing I had a responsibility to pick up the man I take to coffee with me each morning at a designated time.  I am sure an afternoon nap will be most appropriate.

Our son will be having the second stent put in tomorrow.  He worked a couple of days last week but then started having chest pain and discomfort again and the heart doctor decided to move up this second stent placement to this week.  Hopefully this will get him back on his feet feeling much better.  I will be glad when this is over for him.

Etta Sue, thanks for the devotional for this week.

Janet, keep at them at Mayo's.  I know that is a huge place and communication is probably difficult.  I have a friend who was seriously ill and was able to get into Mayo's, at the Florida location, and they seem to have found her problem and is feeling much better.  The doctors here were stumped.  I know the travel is going to be a major problem and I understand the concern getting to a major airport for a larger plane.  You have probably done this but I just did a Google search for "medical transportation by air" and there are a lot of listings.  This might give you more choices.  I wish there was more I could do to help you.

Gord, I well remember when you were speaking of the birth of your grandchild.  Hard to believe a year has passed.

Pat, one of these days things will slow down a bit for you and Paul.

Judy, I am sending you a private message in a few moments regarding sergers.

Pat

Nice to have some posts to read this morning!  ;)

Judy, a serger would be so good to own!  Can you get one at a good price?  Judy, I've been getting weather alerts of heavy frost warnings for Ontario while I've been down here.  Have you had heavy frost?

Larry, I'm sorry about the news of your son still having heart pain.  This is so frustrating.  Paul and I have been praying for your two children AND you both.  How's Weight Watchers going?

Glad you had a lovely Womens' Retreat, Melody!  It's nice to get away like that with women of like mind.  Where did you go?  To a nice picturesque place?  Did you take any photos of the area?

Hi Jane!  Yes, Paul and I were up late last night having a bit of fun.  Paul was creating a graphic for a challenge on Photography Cafe!

Well, off to do some things here in the house and will be back later!

Lost Coast checking in here I was here earlier and didn't post.Curves for my daily workout.

Janet I was watching A Discovery Health program on NF and there is a Doctor who specializes in NF  at the University of Chicago Hospital, I don't remember his name but it showed hm removing a 200 lb NF tumor from a woman, that started in her stomach and wrapped around to her back.  maybe you should contact that Hospital also, it is good to check in every avenue that would possible help Beth.

Have good day I am off to Tai Chi now.

Have a great time in the "south".

Now I will do some reading on the Internet, check the snail mail box, talk to Keith on his lunch hour and walk my dogs. I am going to crochet a ball with a bell inside for Fritzy,.

I put up a sing offering my Caregiver services at the senior Center, hopefully I will get a little temporary part time job. In 2-4 months I may be moving on up to Oregon.

Here in the Heartland it is windy today!  But I shan't complain, as we have had such wonderful weather for this past month or so.

It is the first day of Autumn already, can you believe it?

Larry, thank you for that suggestion, I will Google that and see what is listed.  Hope your son doesn't have any problems in having the stent installed.  And also hope your daughter's foot heals quickly.

I have been packing some today.  Went to the chiropractor early, then swam my mile, came home and ate a big salad for lunch.

No further news yet from Mayo Clinic.  I think you're right about the communication between departments, but I will call again tomorrow if they don't call me.  Beth is excited and ready to go NOW.  I told her a lot of arrangements have to be made before we can go........

Puppy Sarah was sure a hit at the Blue Hole this weekend.  So many people noticed her, talked to and petted her, asked her name, age, etc.  And she loved it.  She did really well with her potty training, not a single accident!  We are learning to read her signals better.  ;)

Larry, are you continuing to lose with Weight Watchers?  I hope I get a good report tomorrow evening at weigh-in.  I am learning that the more years pass, the harder it is to lose, even with a LOT of physical exercise!

Pat, it's so good to see you posting today!  We have missed you around here!  <3

Hi Janet...   Well, it is difficult to get on here as much as I'd like but that's ok.  How long will you be gone for, Janet?

Yes, Jane...  It's not easy when you're over 65 to lose weight.  Guess we have to realize too, that we no longer have the muscle tone that the younger folks have and when weight is lost, so often it goes flabby.  That's the thing that bothers me a lot.  Oh, well, it's not the outward appearance that is important, is it?  God looks at our heart.  I'm so happy that our Heavenly Father still loves us no matter what we look like.

I was just thinking the other day of all the years we've been together here on this site.

Of course, some of us were on the site before we started our own--for about a year or so--but we've been on our own since April 9, 2003.  That's just about 5 1/2 years!!

I remember that Day, I was still living in the desert back then, I didn't move north until July 12, 2003, I was also still smoking back then I saw the post  where Trish (mercychild) was praying for me. That was a good year and they have been getting better and better as the time goes by.

Thank you, Pat!  I sure needed this today.  Seems as I've been working at this for such a long time and with no success.  Recent comments by family members didn't help my ego much, either!   :-\

Yes!  I remember when we moved in here .... 2003 was a difficult year and 2004 wasn't much easier ... our Pastor Bev died Sept. 3, 2003 ...  :(  Seems stuff just went downhill from there. BUT things have a way of turning around again, too .... Thank the Lord for that!

I love it here and, even if I don't post a whole lot, I love to keep up with what all y'all are doing and saying and praying about ...  <3

Pat, I won't even ask where the time goes. :)  I saw a post from Papa John.

Larry, I am doing the Weight Watchers online too.  I keep forgetting to remember if I forgot to tell you that. :)

I've lost 18 lbs now, and because of that over 65 and losing weight thing, I'm still wearing the same clothes and can't tell a whole lot that I've lost.  Yes, Pat, I'm so glad the Lord sees my heart and that's what He's interested in being beautiful.  And it's only beautiful when it belongs to Him. :)

The workers are here again today.  My stairs (going upstairs) are being replaced.  They look really nice.  I think I must have the best contractor ever.  I like him a lot and feel totally comfortable with he and his brother doing the work inside.  That's good since I have Maycie most days and have to be here.  Even the dogs are used to them now and don't take much notice.

Janet, enjoy your vacation. :)  And I sure hope that you get a place to take Beth, Mayo or somewhere else.

I know the feeling, Nita.  I'm at the point of really not wanting to lose much more as it just makes more flab!   But I will keep trying.

Yes, I know that my Heavenly Father thinks I'm beautiful because I love Him because He first loved me and He sees my heart--so that's what matters now in my life.  ;)

Hi everyone.  It appears we are going to have another beautiful, sunny day here in Georgia and not be too hot as we start the first full day of Fall.

My schedule is light today.  Regarding Weight Watchers I have lost at least a little something all but one week and it has been about three months now that I have been following the program.  However, I checked this morning and I have put on a pound and a half so will really have to watch it the rest of the week as have to weigh in on Friday.  So far it is 16 pounds and I can tell it in my face and waist.  I have been able to take my belt up a couple of notches.  Yesterday I ate out twice and had been gone all weekend so was not surprised to see the gain.

Pat, I agree with you in that we see the beauty of a person from knowing them and getting glimpse as to the type of person they are and not from their outward appearance.  You looked so nice when you and Paul visited so whatever you have been doing it is really working.  These 5 1/2 years have really whizzed by on this site.  I would have guessed maybe three years.  Wonder where I was during those other 2 1/2 years.  :)  It has been great to see many of the folks stay around to participate and it is always a joy to have new folks join us as they quickly become a part of our online community.

Nita, it is wonderful when we are able to find good contractors.  Several years ago I hired a man to do a number of jobs including putting in a closet in our room over the garage and put in a heat pump for that area.  He was super in that he worked quickly (always ran up and down the stairs) and was so tidy.  He was expensive but I felt it was worth everything I paid him.  He also put in pull out drawers in all of our lower cabinets in the kitchen, which we have really appreciated as there is no more getting down on your knees to find something.  Glad you are finding success with Weight Watchers also.  I know it is encouraging to each other to share our success as well as those occasional setbacks.  We sure don't want to get discouraged.

Marilyn, I am sure more work will come along soon.  Your idea to put up a sign sounds like a good one.

Janet, another avenue you might check out is Angel Flight.  I see the main office is in Kansas City, Mo. Here is a link:  http://www.angelflightcentral.org/  I had lunch with a man yesterday who has been involved with the Civil Air Patrol in Georgia and he told me there was an Angel Flight office at the airport where we were yesterday.  I had intended to stop in and talk with them to see if they had any ideas that might help you but when we left I completely had a senior moment.  However, expect you would do just as well calling since you know the situation involved and you could get first hand info.  I know this is a huge job but where there is a will there is a way.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day.  Our son will go into the hospital at 10 am this morning and have the other stent put in.  He said they will keep him overnight and he will be able to go home tomorrow.

Janet - in this area of the California/Oregon coast they have what's called the "Life Flight."  They will pick people up and fly them to Medford or Sacrmento.  They've had lots and lots of experience over quite a number of years, so it seems to me logical that they would have had lots of difficult times over the years getting people into and out of their planes.  I would think they'd be able to  advise you very extensively.  I pray it'll work for you & Beth.  Try this one:

Good Morning one and all. I am off to the Chiropractor almost first thing this morning for an 8:45 appointment. I have been to Curves and had my breakfast, an egg sandwich and glass of milk. I am feeling a little better each day, it is the cough now  that needs to go away. I think the cough will hinder me if we go hiking up Trinidad head this weekend. I do hope Saturday is a sunny warm day for hiking.

I will come   back later and post again

I am proud of all of you for posting so much.  Seems like old days....which I want to say thank you to Pat for posting that first day...a long time ago.  2003 was a rough year.  Jerry had his first stroke in July.  Then in August Ivalou and I went to Calgary, Canada, and saw Pat and Judy McKenna!  That was a fun part!

Maybe I am in Kansas and don't know it since we are having another beautiful day in Indiana.  Great temperatures and love sleeping with the windows open.

I got a clean-slate from the throat doctor yesterday.  I thought he said before that I wouldn't have to come back for a year after September but I have an appointment for December 22...Merry Christmas!

Today is Euchre.  It is only a little to the east of me so that won't be so bad driving.  Next month I have two Euchres here...I will need prayer... ;) ...for cleaning my house!!
