Pitbullangel, thank you so much for posting about your time of refreshing.

The story of the little boy holding his dad was so touching.  Yes, God wants this from us.  We think we give greatly, when mostly He just wants us to be with Him.  I am convinced that there are more Christians that know about working FOR God than ever know what it is to be intimately intertwined in His heart.

That's my heart's desire.........to know Him in this way.  Wouldn't you like to feel God's heartbeat within yourself?  Wouldn't you love to be so near that you hear Him breathing?  As the Word says we are in Him, He in us, we in Christ, Christ in the Father.....One in Spirit.  Someday we'll know, in absolute fullness, the very depth of those statements.  What a God!  What mercy!  What love! :)  Thank you, again, for posting this.  Nita

Wish I had checked out snopes...I have already sent it out in an email... :-\  But I am glad that it isn't true.  I could just see all the college kids checking it out and having fun with it.  Better to do that than what the media shows what college kids do.

I spent about an hour online last night trying to find a poem or something for 'Second Marriages' or 'Second Time Around'.  I have a step-granddaughter getting married in October and it is a second marriage for both and each have one child to bring into the blended marriage.  Would any of you poets have anything to contribute that would be suitable to put on a Wedding card?  Audrey is marrying Brad with Donovan and Morgan, respectively.

Cool today.  I think it is time for me to shut windows at night.  It was only 60° in the house when I got up this morning.  But I slept so good.  Too cold to get up and shut windows!!

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Janet

I got up early, later went out for a walk/run, home to shower, wash hair, etc. eat breakfast.....now on to the rest of the day!

I am taking Sarah to the care home for their pet show at 1:00.  I have already taken her there several times. they all fawn over her, especially the nurses!  :)  She gets lots of attention everywhere we take her.

Tomorrow is the first birthday party for great grand baby Alexis!!  Toni and Curt are in Hugoton for the weekend and will make lunch for all of us.  We will take Beth if she wants to go, and I can't imagine she will say no.  The baby is walking, running and her Daddy says, getting into everything!   ;D  I told him that now the fun begins.

I have been packing bit by bit.  I bought a blouse I want to take, it is black, overlaid with lace.  I didn't check it good when I bought it.  :-[ :-\  It has five buttons down the back, and the middle one was missing!  :ticked:  I went down town to buy new buttons, and discovered that you cannot even buy a BUTTON in this metropolis!!  So I came home, dumped out the trusty old button jar, found one that doesn't look too obviously mismatched, took the top one off, moved it to the middle, and but the "odd" one at the top.  They would be impossible to match because they are covered with the lace, too.  Oh well, it will do.  I needed one dressy outfit for the farewell dinner at the end of the trip.

Oh, my....this multi-billion dollar bailout thing sure gives us food for thought, huh?  I'm so glad God is ultimately in control, even of this.  I truly believe time is very short until Jesus calls us to heaven.

I heard on TV this morning that Bush had refused, in May 2007, to allow Israel to strike Iran's nuclear facility.  But I think they will HAVE to do that, and soon, with or without his approval.

Nita, I love your post!  Yes, that is what we should desire more than anything else, just to have that intimate relationship with Him, then we won't have to wonder about the rest, we will know.  Bless you!

Later, Kids!

Hi everyone.  I have really accomplished nothing this morning.  We are having trouble with our reception with our DirectTv and they are wanting to charge me a large fee to come out and fix their equipment and satellite dish.  So I am changing companies and think I will go back to Dish satellite, which we had once before and really liked.  They have the best offer and if a service call is required they have a reasonable charge.  They also provide a Digital Video Recorder that will record two different sets.  I will discuss this with Pat before making a final decision.

Carol, our son ended up needing 3 additional stents as his artery collapsed when they put in the second one.  He got out of the hospital yesterday afternoon and was feeling good when we talked to him yesterday afternoon.

Our daughter saw the podiatrist yesterday and he assured her that her foot was not reinfected and was healing all right.  So that is a relief.  He just wants her to not walk anymore than necessary.

I am feeling tired today so think I will make this short and go take a nap.

Its at the bottom of page three Janet, Its not a problem, I can always rewrite it, probably my own clumsiness, I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack. Today Margery an I went over on the bus to Manchester and then out to Salford, she was curious to try and find some of her old haunts, when she used to go and stay with an aunt. She found one or two of the streets what she knew, we're talking eighty years ago, we must have walked three miles round Salford. You cannot get lost in Salford, there is a tall block of flats there, with an arrow on the side pointing down and a sign, Salford Shopping City, I'm talking 200ft. Well we walked down this road, to a bus shelter, near an avenue of lime and willow trees, not a park bench in sight to sit under those wonderful trees. We'll catch the bus, no seats in the bus shelter, well we waited and waited, no bus, one an hour that's all. I can't stand for long, both feet are numb and painful at the same time, same as my right hand, got more and more distressed, so I said, "Blow it lets head over to the bus station." Margery said it "Could me miles," it was across a playground and park, a couple of streets of an estate, and across a main road. Me I get paranoid for no reason at all, and can feel all this anger boiling up inside, the sun and the warm weather does not help at all, as I can't stand the the feel of sunshine on me at all, or the suns warmth.
Well we got walking down Liverpool street, crossed over, and there was a lovely little sandwich shop where we had a turkey sandwich and tea, they were just on the point of closing, but we got fed and watered. When we crossed the playground I got photographing the flats and trees we were surrounded with, the tall tower blocks are all painted and make a wonderful sight in the sunshine.
After this little excursion we caught the number 68 bus back to Bolton, its a long run round, and the bus stops at Eccles, that's where Eccles cakes come from. But I've never been on that route before, and got the surprise of my life when we passed right by the canal at Worsley, you remember my photo graphs of the brown waters of the canal. What was so surprising was the fact that the Bolton Manchester bus runs right to it, and I was thinking of going there again, its on a direct bus route with no problem finding it or difficulty with buses. It's been a real day of mixed blessings. Funny, but when I feel paranoid angry and depressed, that is when I seem to be at my most inspired, things just seem to happen, Salford Sunset picture was one of those occasions. Well I won't bore you with any more tonight, so a big God bless to everyone, Michael. Remember Michael highlight the text then press copy, it does help to prevent lost posts.

I know I'll re-post it, its Margery, Her dog Riley, on top of the settee, and her grandaughters dog Skye, Margerys having her brew, Riley and Skye have just had their's and took their cups back in the kitchen, and I'm now just having a relaxing cup of coffee, and some custard creams.

Wendy & I left at 7:30 A.M. to go into the hospital for her x-ray.  I waited in the cafeteria for almost two hrs. and was becoming more than a little worried.  Then she came.  Now I am more than a little worried.

First they did the mammogram, then the dr. called for a ultra sound of both breasts.  Then another.  Then another.  When she left, the nurse said there will likely be more tests.  This is not good.

It will be a long week until the test results come in.  I only hope that our dr. will not make a mess of that.  My confidence in her has hit a total low.  Without the help of a friend in the hospital, the tests would not even be done.

Guess that I am not really in the mood to post.  So will go and do some work.  I asked Marilyn to try and put a picture in my profile.  Can't remember how it is done and couldn't seem to find any info. on that subject.  ?  Amanda took a picture of Squeek and me to send to my friends.  Used Squeek as a prop to hide most of my wrinkled face. ;)

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

CHANGE NOT THY FAITH WITH CHANGING TIMES

I shut the windows last night while sleeping and slept very well.  I have a couple of windows open this morning to let a cool breeze run through the house.  I have done some laundry and other piddly things this morning.  Also watching bikers ride by the house.  Bet there was over a hundred of them this morning.  Must have been a bike-athon.

Nothing exciting happening today.  All of us, Ivalou, Kaye Don and I, got our yards mowed yesterday.  I mostly mowed leaves.  They are falling because of being so dry around here.  I have one bush that the leaves on one side is green, the other red!  I think it might be a Burning Bush.

Off to other things!  Oh, yes!  I forgot to tell you all that I am reading 'The Shack'.  Not into it very far yet but so interesting...

SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

Al Moak

Etta Sue - I'm glad you're reading "The Shack."  I have heard things lately about it being really, at base, a new-age book.  When you are through with it, tell me, if you would, what you think they're idea of God actually is.  Thanks.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  I have had an enjoyable day that has been unhurried and tonight get to watch Georgia University play Alabama University.  This should be a really good game.  There is concern with the gas shortage and this game as many people will be coming to the area not knowing they will not be able to find gas.  There are many stations that have no gas, especially along the route to the game.  It should be an interesting evening.

We attended a meeting this morning and then went to Batteries Plus to get rechargeable batteries for one of our house phones.  We mistakenly threw the rechargeable batteries away thinking they were not rechargeable.  Bet we don't make that mistake again.  We then stopped at Wendy's for lunch.

Al, I have read "The Shack" and attended a three Wednesday book discussion lead by our pastor.  I certainly didn't detect a New Age slant nor did our pastor mention this.  We must remember this is fiction and was written not for publication but to make amends to the author's wife for a martial infidelity.  The author has an interesting story.  The book certainly gives food for thought and perhaps helps us see the Trinity in a new light.  It is not a strong endorsement for organization religious denominations.  I hope you will read it and let us know what you think of the book.

Etta Sue, I was speaking to someone this morning who said they started reading "The Shack" and couldn't put it down until she finished it around 1 am.  It sounds like fall is really coming on quickly up your way.

Liz, sorry to read of the concerns you all have over the exams encountered by Wendy and the uncertainty fostered by the repeat and additional tests.  I am sure those were long moments while you were waiting in the cafeteria.  When our children are involved we also suffer in a different way for them.  We can't endure their pain but certainly feel the burden of their situation.

Summicron, very interesting posting.

Carol

There will be eight of us for supper tonight.  This is so different and lovely as we live so much closer to most of the children.  We really enjoyed going to the hockey game (g-son's team won 4 to 1) at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.  The place is huge and dark at night so we did get a little lost trying to find the rink.  Very nice.  Came home very late and put all the equipment outside so it would be dry in the morning.  I love a good & clean hockey game - very fast & beautiful movement on the ice - like an ice ballet but wouldn't the guys dislike my description?

Supper will be meatless but high carbs for the hockey guy who is playing now & has another game tonight - late - and another Sunday.  Of course, all these sports have been terrible about having things Sunday mornings and it is very hard to get to Sunday church so they go to a church that also has night time services.  This is the way of the world these days.  I am trying to teach granddaughter how to crochet & we are taking a break.  Don turned on a football game & I walked out of that room.

Another grandson is coming supper tonight.  He has been selling popcorn for the Scouts all day.  I have a cherry crumb dessert baking as well.

Larry:  Super news that Stacey didn't get an infection in her foot.  And, your son is out of hospital by now.  Your life needs some calm waters.

melody:  I saw you spinning in that chair!  Have a great weekend!

Liz:  Waiting - it is really difficult. Let Go - Let God.  That is just what a good friend told me at a stressful time in my life.

melody

Carol love to have some of that Cheery crumb dessert-sounds good to me :)
Liz I am praying for Wendy and may God give you peace over it has you wait.

I have a busy day and I am getting sleepy right now so
to you all.

Janet

We had a full but enjoyable day today.  Around 11 we drove over to the kids' at Hugoton for little Alexis' first birthday party.  She is adorable!  She is running around all over, and has the most placid personality I have seen in such a little one since my daughter Diane was that age.  When she falls, she just calmly gets back up and goes on her way, never cries or fusses.  What a sweet little girl she is.  :)

We took Beth's van, so we could take her.  She is just in such terrible shape it is heart breaking being with her for hours and seeing how she struggles, and can't do anything for herself.  She falls over in her chair and can't pull herself up, she can't really even eat by herself, can't get her feet to move at all, and is so stiff it is very hard for me to help her.  Without her power chair we wouldn't be able to take her out at all.

We spent the whole time in Diane and Jeff's nice, shady back yard.  The weather was perfect, and being out in the fresh air was good for Beth, I'm sure.  But after about five hours, she was really tired and hurting and ready to come home.  So we said our goodbyes and came home, leaving puppy Sarah with Abby to baby sit her for the next two weeks while we are away on our trip.  Curtis was hurt that we weren't staying longer, so I explained that Beth was in pain and that we sometimes have to give up some things in order for her to be able to come.  He understood that, was just disappointed not to have more time to visit with us.

We were entertained by Toni and Curt's dog, a sheltie, trying to catch the squirrels.  The squirrels loved this game, scampering up the trees, then from treetop to treetop clear across the yard, with Zoe running and barking below.  Funny.

Well....only one more day before we load our suitcases and head for the Denver International Airport!  I'm excited, but as always, wondering what I have forgotten to pack!

Have a wonderful Lord's day, everyone.

Good evening, friends,

Ohenry and Beworthey, I truly hope your birthdays were great, and that your new year will be blessed of God.

God blessed me with a wonderful day today. Weather was perfect, I was able to do some work with the help of a friend to help a couple of ladies who were really needing some food, took my friend to lunch and to meet some of my other friends, then on to see the rehab center where I got such good care, then to set up a meal for my daughter in law when she comes in town next week on business.

God is SO GOOD, isn't he!

Much love to each of you.
...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Interesting, Larry.  From what I read on the website and the author's blog, as well as from a live interview on NBC with the author ... He wrote the story as a gift for his kids ... in an attempt to help them get to know God and understand His love.

Hi everyone.  Another beautiful day here in Georgia.  I am ready for church but it will be about another 90 minutes before we head out.  We have an appointment at church to have our picture taken at 10:20 this morning for the church directory.  So I am wearing a suit today.  I had about forgotten how to tie a tie as it has been several months since I wore one.

Our youth minister is preaching today so our service will be a bit non-traditional as it always is when he preaches.  However, he has grown into a very powerful preacher and the youth really take to him.  He has been our youth minister for 14 years.  Following the service this morning there is a congregational meeting so this is going to be a long morning.

This afternoon about 3 pm we are having a new satellite service installed.  We have been having trouble with the picture of our current system and they wanted $80 to come out and adjust the antenna and I said no.  I started looking at other options and found that Dish has a better offer, including a DVR without a monthly cost associated.  So we are going with that service.  I am looking forward to having the recorder as will be able to record what we want to watch and then watch when we want to do so and fast forward through the commercials.

Jane, I read that the author of "The Shack" wrote it at the suggestion of his wife, prepared a few copies of the manuscript for family members and they encouraged him to publish it with the help of professional writers.  The rest is history as it has really taken off.

Ruth Ann, nice to read such positive posts from you and see that things are going well for you and you are even helping others in need.

Janet, while I am sure it was very difficult on Beth for the 5 hours that it was good for her mental health to be with family and to get outside for such a nice day.  Just being around little ones is always such a joy.  I know getting her there and helping her throughout the day is a real task but one you did with love.  Hope your packing goes well for your trip and that you and Darrel have a marvelous time.  We will certainly miss you the next two weeks.

Hi Melody.

Carol, it sounds like you are beginning to really enjoy being closer to your family members.  It is nice to be able to get members of the family together.  I remember visiting the Air Force Academy quite a few years ago and seeing the chapel there.  I don't remember much else about the visit other than it is beautiful there.

Pat, hope your trip home today goes without a hitch and that you don't have to drive through rain.

Till tomorrow.

Etta Sue

I finished the book, The Shack, at 12:20pm!  One, I know God is love.  Two, I understand the trinity now.  I most of the time forgot about the Holy Spirit.  Now I know I will think more about the Holy Spirit, and God and Jesus.  The book really makes one think.  I love the statement on page 228...Sometimes they (tears) are the best words the heart can speak.

I am ready for church and sitting at the dining room table so I can see Ivalou drive out of her drive way.  It is a hazy, foggy morning.  Maybe I can get a good picture while not driving and going to church.

I am taking The Shack to Ivalou for her to read...she will probably get it done today!

Good day . Its a beautiful Sunny day here today and I was to church and finished lunch . And i thought I would drop by and say Hi to everyone.
Church was good and the pastor will continue to preach in the next few Sundays on Faith and trust in God.
I like the song we sang at the end -When you got nothing left but God you got enough to start again.

Larry-hello and hope you have a good day at church and don't forget to smile for that camera.

Etta Sue I only heard about that book the shack last week but it seems you are in to that book there also.
I would like to read it sometime.
Looking forward to tonight's service we are going to pray for those who are sick tonight.
God Bless .

Janet

We had a good Sunday School class today, church was also good.

I want to read "The Shack" as soon as I can find it.  I know I could order it online, but don't want it to arrive while we are away.  We are having our mail held at the post office while we are gone.

I wish I had someone to record the VP Debate, we would REALLY like to watch that one!

I will be back in a while to post the new Thoughts for the week.
