Hi everyone of this humid Saturday morning.  I anticipate a very calm and restful day today.  I have already done my morning walking.  This afternoon I will watch a couple of the college football games.  Last evening we went to Ruby Tuesday's for dinner and had a delicious meal made better by the 50% off one meal coupon we were able to use. 

Marilyn, nice pictures.  What is the wine walk?  I don't remember you mentioning it.  Freckles is a nice size for a dog, not too big and not too small.

Ruth Ann, glad your doctor appointment worked out to be what you needed.  Our high today is suppose to be 79 and it was already 74 degrees when I went out to walk about 8 this morning.  We do have the possibility of some storms this afternoon and evening.  We can use the rain.

Larry the downtown merchants  in Coos Bay  put on a wine walk once a month, the people buy at glass (just the glass ) for $10. and go to the participating merchants and get tastes of the different Oregon wines. They are given a map with the glass  that tells them which merchants are participating. Furry Friends had a table to sell Raffle tickets for a quilt or a wine tour. We don't  give out wine. Just let people come to pet the dogs.

Hello everyone...   I know, I know .... It's been a long time since I've posted here .... BUT I have been checking in most days, does that count?

I am watching the reports on the fires in California.  The latest one has already consumed 64,000 acres and the governor has declared a state of emergency.  It is very close to where my daughter and grandson live.  Joy is alone at present since John has gone to Missouri [don't ask]  As of last night she said   "It's close. We are covered in falling ash. Feels like snow and can barely breathe. But it is no danger. They have evacuated towns forty five minutes away. Not even in our county but the way it's moving could be coming."  The Pacific Northwest really needs a good dowsing of rain. 

I had a good checkup at the doctor's this week.  Normal everything except for elevated cholesterol and he is pleased that everything is so good "at my age"     Well, so am I.     Just have to get the mammogram out of the way this next week, and I'm set for another six months. 

Not too much going on around here, today is an overcast one and only in the low 60's.  I was going to go to California this week but my daughter (Dot) suggested I wait until next month because it's still hot there.  I don't do well in the heat -- at all!

Today has been quiet, thus far, but it seems things are picking up. I'll be taking a friend to the pharmacy in a little while.

It's a very cool day here in Nashville with temps in the very low 70s after 90s for weeks and weeks. I'll probably wear a sweater when I go out.

It's so good to hear from Marilyn and Jane. Larry, it's great that you're able to take those walks.

Oh Larry I forgot to thank you for the nice compliments on Freckles. I just  discovered that she can detect cancer. We were on our daily walk when suddenly she is veering toward a woman in a wheel chair sitting in the yard at a yard sale.  She just would not leave that lady. Kept getting up close to her face. Finally the woman asked me if Freckles could detect cancer. I said "I  don't know maybe" we do encounter a lot of people with cancer. plus Bebe has cancer so she knows what it smells like Then the lady said I think she can because I have cancer.
