This Weeks Devotional...

1Is it not reassuring to know that God is King of kings?

For the Lord is a great God, the great King above all gods.

Psalm 95:3 NLT
When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan. A just king gives stability to his nation...
Proverbs 29:2,4 NLT

Come, Thou Almighty King

Come, Thou Almighty King,
Help us Thy name to sing,
Help us to praise;
Father! all-glorious,
O'er all victorious,
Come, and reign over us,
Ancient of Days.
Come, Thou Almighty King (v1), AUTHOR UNKNOWN

Presidents, kings, and other ruling officials should be honored and prayed for. So wrote the apostles Peter and Paul, who lived under the Roman emperors. But we must never forget that the King of kings and Lord of lords deserves our ultimate honor and complete allegiance.

This hymn appeared anonymously in George Whitfield's Hymn Book, published in 1757. It is usually attributed to Charles Wesley, but was probably published anonymously for a good reason. Scholars think Wesley wrote this hymn as an imitation of the English national anthem, "God Save Our Gracious King." The national anthem had just been written, and it had become popular throughout England. This hymn may have been Wesley's way of keeping priorities straight.

Whether the author was trying to remind us that there is an almighty Kind greater than any earthly ruler, or whether he was simply writing it as a special hymn for Trinity Sunday, it is a grand and noble hymn praising our sovereign Lord.

Come, Thou Almighty King
(Click to hear music)

"I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters, and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: 'Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.'" Revelation 19:6

Words: Some sources show the author as "anonymous." Others credit Charles Wesley,1757

Music: "Italian Hymn," Felice de Giardini, in The Collection of Psalm and Hymn Tunes Sung at the Chapel of the Lock Hospital, 1769

Come, Thou almighty King,
Help us Thy Name to sing, help us to praise!
Father all glorious, over all victorious,
Come and reign over us, Ancient of Days!

Jesus, our Lord, arise,
Scatter our enemies, and make them fall;
Let Thine almighty aid our sure defense be made,
Souls on Thee be stayed; Lord, hear our call.

Come, Thou incarnate Word,
Gird on Thy mighty sword, our prayer attend!
Come, and Thy people bless, and give Thy Word success,
Spirit of holiness, on us descend!

Come, holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear in this glad hour.
Thou Who almighty art, now rule in every heart,
And ne'er from us depart, Spirit of power!

To Thee, great One in Three,
Eternal praises be, hence, evermore.
Thy sovereign majesty may we in glory see,
And to eternity love and adore!

Hi Folks. Back again to do a post. Made it home Fir night about midnight. I left Guelph at 4pm. This is a trip I usually do in about 4 1/2 hours bout with the weather and the northbound long weekend traffic it took a lot longer this week. Saw many vehicles in the ditch all the way up. Many sections of the road had not been attended to by the sanders and were very slippery with extremely high winds hitting us broadside to boot. I was running with an empty truck which sure kept me busy. driving one of these things in the wind is like carrying and sheet of plywood against the wind. On one hill between gravemhurst and Huntsville my drive wheels did actually loose traction which got my adrenaline pumping. But with the Lords help control was maintained and we got home safely. I got good news this week that my new truck will be in and ready to go sometime over the next week or so. the company gave me a choice of the strip detailing to go on the truck. A reward for making the appiontment to the road knights team. My company is extremely supportive and excited about this appointment as I am myself. Its a brand new VOLVO with numerous of toys added to it for driver comfort. Yes Larry it will be a much more comfortable piece of equipment to work with. I was saying to Judy today that I have no doubt about Gods hand in the appointment to the road knights team and I also feel that He has a purpose for me there that I am not aware of yet. Just the whole planning and scheduling of the events leading up to it had to be orchestrated by divine intervention. No man could ever have done it so perfectly without knowing about all the details that had to fall into place. weel thats all for now. Got to run. doing my molly maid thing to help out Judy while she is laid up with a lame wing. Be back next weekend to do another post Blessings on you all this week. bonesy.
Phil. 1: 21. For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.

Janet

Another week started already!  My, they fly by so quickly it is hard to believe!

Our new pastor will arrive in Ulysses next Sunday evening; their furniture will arrive on the next day.  We are so excited to welcome them, can hardly wait, as we know they are going to be blessings to us, and we to them.

Today was exciting for our family.  Our granddaughter Abby did a self-portrait in art class in school; her teacher entered it in the regional scholastic art competition, and she won a gold key award.  Her painting has been hanging in the Baker Art Center in Liberal for a month, and today was the awards ceremony.  But the big thing was what her art teacher told us:  Abby is up for another, really BIG award!  Only seventh graders can win it, and only two or three from this region are nominated.  Should she win, it will mean a scholarship for summer arts programs from now through GRADUATE SCHOOL!!  It is sponsored by the owner of one of the big football teams.  And there is another big award sponsored by someone else, but I am really fuzzy on the details.  He seemed to be, as well, but he is really excited for Abby.  He told us she is the most talented art student he has ever had!  WOW!!  I hope she really listens, as this could be a big chance for her!!

Of course, I took along my new camera and got photos of her beside her painting.  :)

I may not be around for a few days, we go to Amarillo tomorrow to clean out Mother's apartment.  Pray that all goes well and agreeably, please.  Thanks.  I know it will be stressful for Darrel and his sister Dolores.

Vapor:  I am sorry to read of your current health issues and do hope that you are quickly healed.  I have been on the "net" for years and started out using my name so it has not been an issue for me to change.  YOu surely do not have to change to your 'real" name.  Thanks for the explanation. Oh, I can get into a dentist tomorrow morning.

Larry:  Thank you for sending the photo information. Will look into it.  I did load two books on my iPod just to have a knitting book and a quilting book to look at the pictures mainly.  Have not mastered it yet as it always wants to start at the beginning.  Grandson's team did win the hockey tournament in Manitoba and now a 9 1/2 hour drive back to Minnesota - there is a terrific storm in the middle so we are all on edge until the bus arrives safely.

Split pea soup for dinner with a salad and chunks of chicken in a Chinese sauce.  It has been chilly for two days.  Don spent the afternoon working on taxes & filed online.

Pat:  I thought of one more thing for the list on mobile (cell phone) - do you say mo bile like the British?  My thought immediately is that we don't speak out loud in a quiet library reading the bible or would be thrown out but inconsiderate people answer & talk about nothing.  Signs all over with a slash through the photo of a cell phone but at least not through a picture of a bible.

Grandson's team did win the hockey tournament in Manitoba and now a 9 1/2 hour drive back to Minnesota - there is a terrific storm in the middle so we are all on edge until the bus arrives safely.

Made another knitting error and now to research on the net how to fix it - a dropped stitch about three lines below where I am working.  Utube has the answer.

Janet: Abbey is really growing, isn't she?  How wonderful!

Carol

Bonsey:  I meant to comment on your note chatting about the truck and all of the issues of driving in such awful weather conditions.  It came to my mind as I just finished chatting with daughter who is in north of Denver, who was on the cell phone to their son on a bus full of hockey kids staying a while in Fargo because the road to Minnesota is not good.  That bus driver stopped on the way to Canada for bad roads and is doing the same right now so he is being really careful and we all appreciate the stress of going out on the highways - a tough job.  I mean your job is a lot tougher than many can imagine.  We all hurry home to get in before the storm and you can't do that - glad that you have the comfort of faith to guide you through .  Stay safe.

Janet

And may I add my hearty AMEN to Carol's thoughts!?

Thank you Carol and Janet.  The benefit a truck has over a bus is that the long haulers have a bunk to sleep in as well in many cases food in the truck.  A bus has to find accomodation for the passengers, that will provide food to that many.

John's company is taking a train load of paper to Indianapolos.  Many trucks involved.  I asked why not a train.  "Trucks work cheeper, are faster and there is less damage."  This is a sad commentary on rail service.

It is -20 on our thermometer outside, and that has warmed up from when John got up.  It is taking the fire time to warm us up.

Got to go  Will be back later.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is another sunny and warm day here in Georgia as we should see about 70 degrees this afternoon and pretty nice this morning.

I have been to coffee at McDonald's, picked up a prescription at the drive thru at Krioger's and got a haircut.  I had thought a friend was coming over later this morning to spend an hour or so working on something but he called to say he couldn't make it this morning.  So all I have left is to go to my men's luncheon at 1 pm.  We will be going to a Mexican restaurant today.

For those of you that know Pat H please keep her in your thoughts and prayers today as she starts her chemotherapy.

Judy, that is just too cold.  That was an interesting tidbit concerning trucks versus the train.  I had been under the impression that a train should be less expensive.  Judy, thanks for the devotional thoughts for this week.

Janet, I know that the art accomplishments that Abby is experiencing bring great joy to your life.  It sounds like she will be following in your footsteps and I bet you have given her some tips along the way.

Carol, what application are you using that restarts from the beginning.  Most of the ebook reader applications have a bookmark feature and you just set where you left off and then when you start again go to the bookmarks and click on the last one set.  I also have found that I can turn the bookmark off when I start of the marked page by clicking on the bookmark tool and then don't have a long list of bookmarks that have to be deleted later.  I know you will be relieved to know that your grandson is safely home again.

John, your trip home sounds very scary and sure glad you have the skills to know what to do in such situations.  Very happy for you in getting your new truck.  Enjoy the bells and whistles.

Etta Sue

Bonsey ~ I admire you as a truck driver and driving in all weather conditions.  I can't imagine controlling an 18-wheeler on ice, snow and in rain or even sunny conditions.  Oh, I get upset when I am on the interstate in the rain and a truck passes and throws all that water on me from those 18-wheels but I know trucks are a necessity in my area.  As for trains, about 25 years ago or so several trains and tracks were abandoned in Central Indiana.  I only know one track that is still used in my area today...it goes through Pendleton from Indy to Anderson, IN.  And that may be unused today since the factories in Anderson, IN, have closed!  John, if you are on I-69, you will be about 5 miles from me.  Call me and I could meet you at SR 13 and I-69...Lapel exit.  There's a truck stop there.  Would love to meet you face to face.

Janet ~ Praying that all goes well in sorting out your MIL belongings.  That can be stressful...just praying that it goes well for all concerned.  It made my heart smile thinking about Beth walking down the aisle to meet John.  Bless her heart.  And Abby?  Can't believe she is in the 7th grade.  My mind's eye still thinks she is about 4 years old!

Larry ~ I love my Kindle on Droid.  Everyone seems to think it is too small to read but you can change the size of the font and even the background from white, sepia and black.  Black has white letters.  I have four books on it right now since I probably don't have the storage as on other readers.  When I close down Kindle and open a book it is right where I stopped reading.  But I can also search for the 'beginning', 'contents', etc.  Love it!

Carol ~ You will love your ebooks once you get used to how to navigate around.  Don't be afraid of trying different things on yours.  When I want to find a book for Kindle, I check online on the laptop at www.amazon.com and the Kindle Store...then search for FREE books.  I bookmark what I think I will return to someday.  When I find a book, the I get my Droid on Kindle and search for that title and one click, I have it downloading on my Kindle.  I am thinking about having Ivalou getting an Ipad or Kindle or Nook.  I think she would like that.

JudyB ~ Thank you for the devotion.  Praying that your lame wing heals quick and soon with no complications!

We are having a dark, dreary day today in Indiana.  Raining and in need of lights on inside to navigate your own home safely!  The temp isn't too bad but chilly when I took out the trash.

Not much planned today.  Seems like a good day to curl up in my afghan with a good book!  Just decided to put my towels and wash clothes in the washer with some bleach.  They seem dull lately!  Then I will find my afghan and a good book!

Nita

Hello all.  I'm back. :)   I finally told Judy and Pat that I was embarrassed because I'd forgotten my password, again.  I had it written down even, but must have either written wrong, or something else happened.  Not sure, but Pat was kind enough to give me another.

It's been cold here today, but sunny.

I won't comment much today.  I just wanted to let you know I was back and to thank Judy and Pat. :)

Jane Walker

Good to see you back, Nita ... you have been missed, y'know.   :)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

JudyB

Nita if we know there is a problem we can help.  I got a message tp Pat and she did it all.

Etta Sue John isn't coming your way this time, the delivery is for late in the week and he ahs to be back for Friday afternoon, he can head out right after his appointment but that is one he can't miss.

Jane how are your Grands doing?  Have a great evening sis.

Larry I am a train buff, as was my father.  Unfortunately they can't keep up with the time constraints that trucks can.  Although the west and mid west trains are used much more than us here in the east.  I remember counting cars while John was driving through nebraska and there being about 120 cars.  Amazing that they could pull that many.  I would still love to take a train west to BC and see the mountains from a train window.

Another major earthquake this time in New Zealand.  Buildings down and people killed.  We need to pray for New Zealand.

I was talking to Ruth this weekend.  She says thank you for praying and please continue.  Mel is still in a lot of pain.  Neither of them are getting much sleep.

Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah
(Click to hear music)

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel,
and afterward receive me to glory.
Psalm 73:24

Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah,
Pilgrim thro' this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty;
Hold me with Thy pow'rful hand;
Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven,
Feed me till I want no more,
Feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow;
Let the fire and cloudy pillar
Lead me all my journey through;
Strong Deliv'rer, strong Deliv'rer,
Be Thou still my strength and shield,
Be Thou still my strength and shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside;
Death of death, and hell's destruction,
Land me safe on Canaan's side;
Songs of praises, songs of praises
I will ever give to Thee,
I will ever give to Thee.

Jane how are your Grands doing?  Have a great evening sis.
.

Judy, we have our ups and downs ... I am (still)trusting in my Lord to take care of each of my (8) grandkids...He is doing that, and I am at peace within His will ...  I don't feel free to express any concerns that I may have regarding my grandkids or kids ... or great grandkids ... He knows all about each concern and I leave it all with Him.  I totally trust Him for my needs as well as those of my (extended) family.  I so appreciate your asking, Judy ... Thank you.   :)

Welcome back, Nita!  You were missed.

And hello, Jane!

Well, Ivalou and I want to venture out today for her to get some money at the bank and drugs at the CVS.  I want to go to Sister Exchange and look for some clothes and perhaps have Mexican food at Pendleton.  But....it is snowing and has been freezing rain.  The ground is white and my deck is slick.  I already salted it.  So we may just do Lapel and forget about Pendleton until another day.

I think God teased us with the warmer weather... ???

Some days I get an email notification...some days I don't!

And is S & F down?  I know it was to be down last evening but is it still?

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It looks like we will have another nice day.  Not much to write about this morning as will just do the routine things I usually do on Tuesday.  I did have a nice time at coffee this morning.

Nita, nice to see you posting again.

Jane, I expect if we tried to write about all of our family and the different situations they may be facing we would have a novel.  I agree with you that God knows of the needs.

Judy, I just heard of the New Zealand quake a couple of hours ago but didn't see any film on the story.  Sure there will be moe information on the news throughout the day.

Etta Sue, I agree with you that reading a book on the small screen really isn't a problem.  In fact, the book I am currently reading is one that uses the iBook reader from Apple.  They offered several free books.  It also remembers where you left off.  I will probably alternate between my larger ebook reader and reading using the iPod with the various ebook applications.

Do hope that all is going well with Janet and Darrel as they deal with closing down his mother's apartment.  I know that is a job and is emotionally draining.  My dear mother had everything so organized and in such good order that our job, when the time came, wasn't so difficult physically but was still emotionally difficult.

joyce robson

Oh, how nice to see old friends and new ones here.

Been here, but quiet..Think that's what the good Lord wants me to do right now.

So many upsets in my life, that's its best to sit back and listen for awhile.

I know HE is in control and whatever HE sends my way, HE will provide me the strength to handle it..

Take care all

Nita

Good morning. Thank you for your welcome messages.

I'm sitting here with a cup of coffee, mint-mocha creamer, and looking at sunshine out the window.  It was raining earlier and I see plenty of clouds to suggest more, but I'll take the moment and be blessed.

My sister gave me a media player this last weekend when we all got together.  She wanted me to have it because she uses hers when she walks, so was inspiring me.  She even loaded it with some walking music. lol   What I found in the manual, however, was the ability to listen to audio books.  I've never done that and it intrigues me.  Does anyone know where they have free books for download?    To be sure, I DO have to use it for walking too.  I promised her I'd start walking more, as we're all (sisters) wanting to get healthier and stay that way too. :)

Joyce, I've gone through those quiet times so many times.  It just seems that's what the Lord is calling me to, as you said.  I'm always wanting to do something, to fix something, and sometimes it's just a part of the journey and all we can do is wait on the Lord.  I know it pleases Him when we have committed to wait for His voice and not do our own speaking.  Waiting is hard, and waiting is what it seems He asks of us over and over.  I guess that's where our trust of the Master's plan is cultivated and grows deep within us.

I've been reading about Christchurch and the terrible damage done by the earthquake.  So much is going on around the world.....it makes me want to pull into Christ Jesus, my protector in this world and beyond,  and just hold on.   I feel so terrible for those people who are experiencing such upheaval.   I just pray.

I have my little Maycie with me.  She stayed last night.  I was gone for three days and she missed her great grandma so much. (she tells me I'm her bess frien.)  She's still sleeping now as we had a late night of laying in bed with flashlights and having lots of fun shining them on the ceiling and making animals. :)   It's like I get to be a kid all over again through her eyes. :)

Have a blessed day, everyone.

Gord Brown

:)   Good afternoon to all it is so good to go over all the post's and to read about the good thing's and also some things that can cause hardships in our life.  But I know that the Lord gives us these things to teach us some sort of lesson.

Nita: It is cute to here about you having so much fun playing with Maycie and feeling like a child again.  I have a brother who lives in New Zealand but not In Christchurchbut I do have some cousins that live in other part's but as far as I know they are o.k.

Janet & Darrel: I am sorry to here about Darrel's mum and accept my condolences and I hope that all will go well when you go to clear out the appartment The Lord be with you all. :)

Larry and Pat.  It is nice to here that you are both able to keep going on your daily activities but as I have said before don't overdo it. :coffee:

My wife has not had to many good days lately so again I ask for prayer for both of us as my hip and back have been giving me a lot of pain and I have had to go for physio and I also had x-rays a couple of weeks ago and to top it all of I have got a flu bug which I think I picked up from wife so we value your prayers and we will be praying for all of your request's :

Judy B.  I do hope that your shoulder is healing well and tell John that I no what that feeling is like when the vehicle does not do what it is supposed to do and praise the Iord that he is always with John on those long trips. Please pass my comment's to him. Love ya.  Sis. :)

To all other on C.P.  I pray that you will all have a blessed week and may the Lord give you many oppertunities to give a witness for him  Thank you JESUS for dying for us  Amen   Gord and Noreen :cp: :)

We set a new record low last night - 11 below (F).  And likely again tonight.  Global warming.

Etta Sue, I'm a little late with the information, but S&F was only down for about 1/2 hour while Michael installed a software upgrade.

Larry, please keep quiet about your 70 degree weather!

Hi everyone, Nita i am so glad you are able to get back on here. How is the flute playing coming along. I haven't picked mine up for about 4 days. I was trying to play a few minutes every day and need to get back to doing that.

I went to the free for Seniors monthly movie this morning, but  can't remember the name of it,.,Jane knows it., I went to the ladies room just as the movie was coming on so I didn't see the title.

Good evening as you know it has been some time since I was last here, I am struggling with enough sleep,  Mel  is healing but is having difficulty with sleep as one position is it.   It is interesting how one mistake changes life for a very long time.

Thanks for remembering us in your prayers.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Nita

Marilyn, I play every day.  I love the flute and learning to play it. :)  Each time I pick it up, I learn something new.  I can already see that after awhile I will want a better one.  For now, its perfect.

Yes, Larry.  I don't think you should be telling us about your 70 degree weather either. lol  Well, go ahead...I guess you have a right to brag a little.  Especially when I read about Jeanne's weather!  That's coooold.  Thank the Lord for heated homes, huh?

Ruth, I've been gone for so long and don't know what's going on with you and Mel, but I will say a prayer for you.  Not getting enough sleep can really zap everything in you.

Jane Walker

I haven't even been online all day ... and night!  Yes, Marilyn, I was at the movie today (yesterday) It was "Just Go For It" with Adam Sandler ... we looked for you but neve saw you ... you must've come later.

I have been rather quiet lately because there is a lot of "stuff" going on within my family circle.  More stuff than I care to share here... or any where.  When I see so much suffering and problems concerning my friends here and elsewhere I just don't feel anything I am dealing with merits mentioning.  I do pray for, and care about, each of the situationis mentioned here, on a daily basis ... I haven't been commenting because I just feel I don't want to intrude.  Forgive me?   :-[

Etta Sue, thank you, that giraffe is so cute!

Judy B, I had to look up what frost heaves are. They are not called that around here, but they are aggravating! There are a lot of them in Nashville. Very hard on tires and other things!

Bonesy, My adrenalin was pumping just reading about your trip! So wonderful to have God's peace in your job!

Janet, That is so sweet about Abbey and her painting!

Joyce, I understand dear, there are times I know God just wants me to be still and quiet. ( I need to be still and quiet more, so I can hear Him more!)

Nita, So glad you have that wonderful time getting to be a child all over again threw a child! :)  I only get to see my grandchildren a couple times a year, so I try to pack so much fun into a few days!

Gord and Norine, Yes, God is in control always.

Ruth, I understand about not enough sleep!

Jane, I understand, I often feel the same way!

Sunday was so beautiful here in TN! We had 2 visitors in Sunday School. :)    I talked my adopted brother  into getting out, he only gets out a couple times a year other than quick shopping trips. (He is 62 years old retired army but never had a drivers license.) The plan was to go see if the eagles came back and rebuilt a nest at Fort Donaldson, the storms last year knocked their big old nest out of the tree.. And then go to a Elk and Bison prairie that is out in the same area. We got to Ft. Donaldson and there was a civil was camp set up with demonstrations. Brother Larry was like a child in a candy store! Even ASKED me to take his picture! LOL !   I got some nice pics! :) The eagles came back but built a little further back and there was so many people around they were not flying where we could see them.;(  No elk were out on the prairie, but lots of bison were so got pics and videos.:) I am very armature! If you want a peak you can see:  http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/tam4givin?sk=photos

I am still recuperation from that long Sunday! I have doc appointments Thur. and Fri. but the weather man says we are in for some serious bad rain, wind, and thunder storms those 2 days!

I am lifting everyone in prayer! Thank you for your prayers!

Nita ~ Amazon.com has audio books and I am sure some of them would be free.  When I put 'free' in the search, it comes up with titles with the word 'Free' in them.  Maybe search for $0.

What a cloudy, gloomy day in Indiana.  And I am cold in this house.  The only thing I did was open the front bedroom door and I turned on my air purifier again.  So I closed the bedroom door and turned up the temp on the heat pump.  Warming up now.

Kitty and I plan to go swimming today.  I haven't been swimming since Jan 12 and since it is already paid for, I sure do want to get my money's worth before July 15 when my membership expires.  I am not planning on renewing again unless they allow Seniors to only pay for swimming and not the whole gym....like I am going to play basketball, run on treadmills, work on bench presses, etc.

I have another baby afghan to make before March 13 and Hobby Lobby seems to have the better cost yarn.  At least I know what colors for this little boy.

Good morning from rainy Oregon.  We're going to have lots of snow northward, but probably not here on the central coast.  They've been warning everyone for a day or so.  Right now it's just rainy.

Etta Sue, thanks for telling me about Amazon for audio books.

Get to spend time with another granddaughter today.  Megan loves for gramma to come visit.  Little brother has a doctor's appt., so I'll go down for awhile.

Jane, it's alway something, isn't it?   Life is messy, but God isn't.  I know you always just leave it in His hands, but that doesn't stop you from feeling their pain.

Have a blessed day.

:coffee:    Good afternoonto all on C.P.     My wife Noreen and I are just staying home as she does not have the strength to go out and I am not going out as I want to get rid of this flu as fast as possible.

We have a beautiful blue sky day and I think the temprature is around 40 F.  Which we are very happy for as it is going up and down like a yo yo. :cp: :cp:

Not much else to tell you but to say we all need to pray for all the people in Christchurch New Zealand who have lost family members and I do have family in New zealand but I do know that my brother is O.K.

Ido have three cousins also in New Zealand and I have not heard anything yet so I do hope that they are o.k.  Well have a great day  Gord and Noreen :)

Janet

Hello, friends.  We arrived back home last night.  What a trip, and what a job!  The old van ('85) hadn't been used for nearly three years, and some carbon or something kept getting sucked into the lines.  It ran pretty well going down, but sputtered and coughed all the way home.  Sure kept me praying!

We pretty well got Mother's apartment emptied, some stuff was left for Dolores and Norm to deal with, but we had loaded the van to the max--wall to wall, top to bottom and front to back!  So we came on home, with the promise we will be back on March 15, as Darrel has a Dr. appt then.  Darrel's sister didn't really want to get rid of the furniture "that has been in the family for ages--this was Grandma Damon's, etc", so guess whose garage has yet another big pile of stuff we don't need?  Sigh.  Well, Curtis can use some of it, and maybe I can find a couple things I can get rid of to squeeze hers in, but this place wasn't built to accomodate three other households of STUFF.  (Mom's, Beth's and now Mother's.)

We are both really tired.  Darrel is here snoozing in his recliner, and I'm thinking that looks like a great idea!  Unloading that van after the stress of deciding what to do with what and loading it, wore us out!

Jane, your comments are never intrusive.  Please at least say hello.  And I think we all understand about family problems.

Nita, welcome back.  You were missed.  Hello to everyone!

Gord to get rid of this aweful flu that is going around I have been told to drink lots of clear liquids, tea, water and the such.

The number of earthquakes in the worls is amazing.  How Scriptural prophecy is being fulfilled.  I pray for those folks they suspect are trapped.  It would be a terrible situation for them.

I had physio today.  Bill has increased my exercises, and they are more taxing.  I will be glad when this all is over.  Met a gentleman in physio last time there and he was still going at 4 months.

John is heading to Guelph.  He has a problem with the truck and the dealer up here didn't have the parts to fix it.  That seems so unreasonable to truckers that have to keep rolling for their pay check.  So Pat you may be able to have coffee with him tonight!

Elizabeth will be home soon, so I am off till later.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.

Sorry Jeanne and Nita, but it is another beautiful day in Georgia but is only 61 degree at the moment.  You will get even during the summer when we are very hot and your areas will probably be cooler.

Gord, sorry to hear of your flu and that Noreen is not doing well.  Good to stay in and rest when you are recovering from the flu, as I am sure you are well aware.

Nita,  there are many places to download free books.  Barnes and Noble offer a free book every Friday, not that they are always a book I would want to read, but I try to always check and have several from their free selections.  Google is a good source to download free books, those that are no longer under copyright.  You will find a number of other places if you just type in free ebooks in a search engine.

Just going to say I have read all of the postings but since it is getting late in the afternoon and I have some other things I need to do I will leave it at that for today.  I have choir this evening.  Janet, glad to see you are home and didn't break down on the road.

JudyB

JAnet I understand about trying to assimilate households.  It is never easy.  Glad the van held out, now to rest.

Larry your busy days concern me, don't wear yourself down now!

Gord Brown

:)   Judy B.  (  SIS)   Thanks for the encouragement and you are not the first to tell me..

Larry:  Also thanks for the good comments and I did have a very busy week but had to cancel it all and that was including singing at my old Church and this is the second time I have had to do this.  I also had to cancel going to my large choir as it is just to much. when you have the flu.

So I hope that you all have a great weekend and a great day in the Lord's house.

Love In Christ.   Gord and Noreen. :) :sidedance: :dogrun: :cp:

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends, I'm here tonight after a very busy day. A tooth in the upper front broke off the 9th, and I called to see if the new partial plate was ready to use. Well, they got everything ready for me - and just in time! My daughter's wedding is Sunday! Now I can smile without looking like a hillbilly!  ;D

Vapor, we should make plans to meet - I've lived in Nashville for many many years. If you would be interested, please send me a personal message and we can arrange to grab a glass of iced tea somewhere.  :)

Y'all have a good evening, friends.

Ruth Ann

Ruth Ann Good to see you back.    How I wish I could hook up with you and vapor!!  Perhaps she could take a picture and post it in the thread Pat started!

Carol

Joyce:  Greetings - nice to see you posting.

Nita:  There are lots of books free for downloading from your library.  It just takes some time to find ones you would enjoy.  I have not listened to "Abraham" yet but that is from the library.

Larry:  I need to look into Barne's & Nobels free book a week too.  Thanks.

Grandson is back safe and sound after spending a night with the team in Fargo hotel.  Did I mention their team won the tournament - total of 4 games and they won 3 of 4, I believe.  Big trophy.  Highlights of the game were captured on a YouTube video from a nice Canadian fan who sent it to the Minnesota coach and it is just thrilling.  I wasn't sure if anyone would like to watch 3 minutes of hockey but I could email the site to you if anyone desires.

Here, we did our walk and it was nice enough to clean the patio & outdoor mat & such.  Vacuumed all & getting ready for cousin to arrive Friday - she needs to call me back.  There is a big art show this weekend so that will be interesting - all outdoors & rain is predicted.  Hope not.

Carol

Hi Ruth Ann:  Glad you are not doing the Hillbilly thing - I had a jagged tooth break last week & they did a bonding so I can smile again too.  Nice to see you.

Nita

Carol, our county library doesn't have e-books as far as I can tell from the website.  They do have audio books on cd but not for download.

Thanks, Larry.  I have been searching, but I didn't think of putting in "e-books".  I've just searched audio books.  I suppose for my purpose they are the same, but I probably did get different hits than if I had put that. I found some to download and then had to tweak my player some to get them installed to it.  I'm all set now. :)

We might wake up to snow in the morning.  We have warnings all over western Oregon.  It is snowing now in some locations, but not here.  I wonder if Oregon will have enough snow to be on national news?  Probably not.

Ruth Ann, I'm glad you will look unhillbilly at the wedding and can smile freely. :)

Good night all.

JudyB

Home care has just left.  It is snowing up here in the still wintery north.  I am envious of Larry and those who no longer have snow. I had a rough night with my soulder last night, the new exercises are rough going.

HAve a good day folks, I  will be back later.

Etta Sue

Whew!  I am sore today...not as bad as I thought I would be but tender sore.  I swam 36 links yesterday...first time since January 12.  Good feeling.

Kitty and I went to Hobby Lobby for me to get some yarn to make another baby afghan by March 13.  She got some paint for her paint class today.  Three tiny little tubes of water color paint was over $30.  Glad I don't paint!

Then I went into WalMart to get some filters for my Brita pitcher.  The only faucet that doesn't have soft water in the house is the cold water faucet in the kitchen.  I use that to make coffee and hot tea.  That water straight from the faucet and well makes a scum on the second cup of coffee (hard water)...I say it looks like the Desert Storm blew over.  So I use the Brita pitcher to filter the water.  So I got 4 of them.  Great coffee this morning.

Then I was hungry for pizza and we came back to Lapel for me to get a pizza and Kitty had a diet coke and a chocolate chip cookie!

She called Bob and told him she was going with me to Pendleton to get another animal print top.  I am talking about 'Africa' at our Woman's Retreat so thought that would look nice.

Then I took her home.

I stopped at Ivalou's and gave her her mail.

Tonight we are going to Beef and Boards to see 'Hairspray'!  Lots of singing and dancing.  I know I will like it and hope the others will also.  I saw the movie on TV last week.

Janet

I think Hairspray would be much more fun to see on stage than at the movies, and I enjoyed the movie.  So, Etta Sue, I think you are in for a real treat, a fun evening!

Ruth Ann, it is SO good to see you here again.  I've missed you!

I had quite a day today, nearly overwhelming, but with God's help, I handled it well.  My mom almost died again this morning, sugar very low, unresponsive, etc.  They put glucose under her tongue, sugar shot up to 220, they gave her insulin..... :-\  She said she wished they would just leave her alone and let her go.  I prayed with her, asked her to be very sure what she wants, she is sure, so I talked to her nurse.  I told her please do NOT take my word for this, go talk to Mom.  She did, Mom told her the same, also told my sister.  Now they are looking into Hospice for Mom, also checking into "Liability issues" about not doing the sugar thing any more.  I  spent from 7:30 until after 3:00  up there, and I feel like a wrung-out dishrag.  (Maybe look like it, too!)  All of this involved several calls between me and my two older sisters, conferences with the DON, etc.

They are to call me when and if they decide anything.

We are to leave in the morning to drive to Los Lunas, N.M. taking an empty trailer, and then pulling home a full trailer for grandson Curtis.  I just want to go to sleep for about a week........

Hi everyone I am checking in here, Don'tcha think it is time. LOL

Ruth Ann so good to see you posting again, and glad that you aren't doing the Hillbilly things with your teeth.

We are supposed to get some snow here, but I am wondering if we really will. Keith is planning on going to Portland tomorrow to see his boys so we are watching the weather very closely. I am staying home with the critters.

Not much going on here in my neck of the woods, I've just been doing the usual things I always do. Working on graphics in both PSP and Photoshop trying to learn as much as I can in Photoshop.

Hi everyone.  It has been a very busy day but still very nice weather as it was 66 degrees this afternoon.  It is suppose to rain tomorrow.

We had invited a friend, who is 94 years old, and another couple that are our friends to come for lunch.  The 94 year old used to attend our church and we once visited with she and her now deceased husband while we were in Florida several years ago.  She is a delightful person but almost stone deaf and it made it very difficult to talk with her.  She talked a lot and said she doesn't get to talk very much as lives with her daughter and SIL and is alone a lot as they both work and are active in their church.  About 2pm I took her home and then went on to an appointment with my cardiologist.  I didn't get home until a little after 5 pm and now just relaxing in my chair.  I am sure bedtime will come early tonight.  Pat had fixed a lovely meal and we all had a nice time.

Janet, what a stressful day you had and what a difficult position to be placed in. Glad your mother revived but it sounds like with wasn't what she wanted.  Hope you have a good trip tomorrow as you help your grandson.

Marilyn, hope you don't get snowed in.

Etta Sue, hope the play is very good.  I know that you like musicals from what you have said before.  Glad you were finally able to get back into the pool.

Judy, it sounds like the PT may have been too hard for you if it left you in a lot of pain.  Wish I could send you some of our nice weather.  Our flowering trees are all breaking into bloom and apparently the daffodils are also blooming although I haven't seen any of them yet.

Nita, I may have mislead you in suggesting ebooks as they are not audio books but rather like Kindle books.

Carol, I know you and your family are glad to know your grandson is home safely from a very successful trip.

Ruth Ann, good to see your postings.  Glad you were able to get your tooth fixed before the wedding.

Gord, sorry to see you missed being able to sing in your old church and also your choir practice.  I know I don't like to miss mine.

Nita

Larry, right.  I found that out as I did my searches.   :)

Janet, you did have a stressful day.  Making those decisions is such a hard thing to do.  I remember when my mom asked me to be sure they didn't do anything to keep her alive.  When they gave her something to keep breathing well till the end, the doctor told me it hasten her death because of its effect on her heart.  We all agreed that's what she would want.  She died peacefully.  Her fear had always been not being able to breath.  She saw her mom like that.  I promised her.   We do what we know our loved ones want, as they do have the right to make those decisions as long as they can.   I feel for you though.  Two deaths so quickly is hard.

Marilyn and Jane, wasn't our snow was short and sweet ?  I wonder if we'll get more tonight.

JudyB

Oh Janet what a day and what a decision you have had to make.  I am not sure I could do that.  I am praying.

Marilyn

Nita the snow was so pretty as it was falling I kept watching it out  the window, then when the sun came out again it all melted so fast. The the temp going so low tonight I am thinking there may be ice of the street in the morning when I want to go to the Fitness Center. I wonder if it will snow some more.

Janet:  I am so sorry about your day.  My mother had Written Directives stating DNR and when I had a phone call to verify, I did what my mother had asked and then cried my heart out knowing it was for the best.  I hope you are sleeping alright.

I bought two geraniums and put them on the patio table top but brought them inside for the night.  Just needed some flowers.  One of my favorite cousins & her husband are arriving tomorrow and we have not been able to visit for two months because she gets non-stop company .  She has to get out of the house or someone is calling for this or that.  Another cousin & wife are now in the area so we will either meet with them next week or ask them to drive here - don't know which.  Am trying to protect Tuesday because Knitting club meets and they always help me with my problems.  Don has given up on trying to get to wood carving and I feel so bad for him - every Friday we have something happening.  Grocery & other shopping at four different stores today - we are bushed.  There is a big art fair and 200,000 visitors are expected in this town of 22,000.  We will stay parked and walk around plus there is no way anyone can get into a restaurant so I have planned two days of meals here.

Larry:  We are happy that g-son & all arrived safely as well.

There is a big UFO convention in Phoenix.  I cannot imagine how weird that would be, can you? You should see the people being interviewed.

Gord: Are you feeling better now?

Gord Brown

 :)   Hi  to all.

Carol:  You asked if I am feeling better and I still have a bad cough but other than that I think I am starting to feel better.  My Wife is still got a bit of her cough that she got nearly three weeks ago and also had antibiotics for so they did not take it away completely.

It is very late and I should be asleep a long time ago but I am a night hawk so I catch up on my emails and also read the post's.  Have a great weelend to all.   Gird and Noreen

Hi everyone.  It hasn't been very long since I posted so will just leave a brief message for today.  We had rain during the night, not that I knew it until I saw the water standing outside the kitchen window this morning, but the sun is up and it is going to be another warm day.  It looks like the remainder of February will continue to have warm days, which is great.

I got a good nights sleep but am really happy to have the rest of today with no commitments.  I need to get started on my income tax and have some other projects to work on so will be as busy as I want to be.

JudyB

Larry we have income tax to do as well but we are waiting for documents from John's work first.

We are having wierd weather.  There is a fine mist that may lead into freezing rain.  Thankfully it won't cause school busses to stop.  Soon is March Break, and all the kids will be out of school.  They will enjoy that.

Have to go. Bye for now

Etta Sue

Janet ~ I know it is hard to let your Mom go but sometimes we need to put others wishes ahead of ours...as you are doing.  A minister told us when my Mom was dying that it is selfish of us to not let her know it is okay to go.  We did that and it was like a peace came over her knowing it was okay by us.  God bless you.  And all of this so soon after Darrel losing his Mother.

In Indiana, the doctors and nurses recognize Living Wills of people.  It is where the patient has signed that they do not want to be put on machines to keep them alive.  DNR type conditions also.

Hairspray was the best show yet!!  So much fun to watch and hilarious.  I truly didn't know that Edna Trueglad, the mother, was a man until I looked at the billing during intermission!  All the outfits and colors were great!  And of course, lots of dancing and singing!  You can see photos
here

Out of our foursome two of the ladies opted out.  One in Florida and the other with laryngitis.  So I left it up to Jane to replace one of them and Ivalou went with us.  So when Jane's car came in Ivalou's drive, we were happy to see Jane's daughter, Judy, driving Jane's car.  She told her husband she was taking the Golden Girls to Beef and Boards.   ::)  I am so glad that Judy was driving.  When we left to come home, it was sleeting, raining, snowing...all of above!  I don't think Judy got over 40mph all the way home.  Too early for the DOT to be out yet!

I woke to lots of snow this morning.  Even snow plastered on the west and south window screens!  While reading my devotions, I heard a scraping noise.  Tony!  He was shoveling my deck and almost all my drive...at least where it was the deepest.  So I have my drive opened up and he drove in Ivalou's back and forth to open hers.  I had a bulb burnt out at the back door and we found out it isn't the bulb but the fixture.  He has one so he will replace it someday.

Bright and sunny now and the temp is 30 degrees.  Melting even at that degree.

All sorts of vehicles pouring into this town for the weekend art show.  Unbelievable.  I just baked cranberry muffins and started a beef veggie soup in the crock pot.  Have a little headache and little sore throat - sipping Echinacea tea but that doesn't stop a cold from coming on - I hope not as one cousin is on the way right now.

Gord:  It just seems to take so long anymore just to get over a simple cold.

Janet:  Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jeanne Lee

The weather?  Well, just for variety sake, guess what...  it's snowing.     This time the temperature is around 30F, so it's the heavy, wet stuff.  I've been pushing my storm door all the way out every half hour or so, to make sure I don't get blocked in.  It's really piling up and we may get 18 inches or so before it's over.

It was foggy this morning and kind of drizzly I was told, then the sun was shining, this afternoon it was flaky snow coming down, and finally it was sunny late afternoon.

I am home tonight, and John is home.   We are going to sit and watch some TV and head to bed early.

Jeanne, here.  Can you see it?  I'm handing you some of my blue sky and bit of sunshine. :)

Well it was hail/snowing here a few minutes ago.  It's off and on.  Supposed to get down to 27 or so tonight.  I'll take some of that stuff that Nita has.  It did that here today, too - sometimes.

:)  Good evening to you all.   Well we woke up to the same sort of day as Etta Sue and some others  there was snow stuck to the screens and all over the tree's but thanks to the weather later on much of it has melted but now at this time of night the weather has got much colder and there is so much black ice on all the street's that I don't think that the salter's can keep up.

Janet this must be such a hard time for you and Darrel as I can remember when Noreen and I had to go through this when both her parent's died very close to each other.   We are all praying for you and Darrel and we know that the Lord will give you the strength to get through   God bless you both Again to all here at C.P.   have a wonderful and Blessed weekend.  Gord and Noreen :cp: :)

As the devotional says: we must never forget that the King of kings and Lord of lords deserves our ultimate honor and complete allegiance. Amen!

Nita,   I am so  glad you live close enough to your grandchildren to visit like that!  (Mine are all far away! ;( But I thank God I usually get to see them one or two times a year and for days some times weeks when I do get to see them. Two of mine live in Hawaii right now, I have not seen them in over a year, but they will come visit in June. :)  My 14 year old grandson use to live with me when he was a baby then after he moved out of state he stayed with me all summer but the older he gets he less time he stays,  I have a hard time not spoiling him to much when he is here! (Does it really hurt for someone to eat roast, home made french fries and grilled cheese almost every day for a couple weeks a year! LOL)

Gord and Noreen, Are you 2 doing better?

Janet.    Glad you and the van made it home! My house and garage has stuff from a lot of people to! My son wants me to clean it all out in a weekend! (This has created some hurt feelings!) I know you are going through so much with your Mom and other things dear. I am lifting you in prayer!

Judy B,   Have you sent that flu on its way! I know what you mean about physio! On first visit for something they always tell me it is best to go slow and it should not hurt, then a few weeks later they are pushing and pushing and saying it is needed. Did John's truck get fixed? I wish you could hook up with us in Nashville! (or some where!) It might be warmer here (might not tonight) but it is so beautiful up there!

Ruth Ann,   I am so glad God's timing was perfect for your tooth! Yes, we will have to meet up! I live about 50 miles from Nashville. I go to doctors there a few times a year and always make a day of picture taking at Centinel Park, The Trace, or wherever I end up! Back in Dec. my son and his family rented rooms for us at Hotel Indigo downtown for the weekend. Have you been in there? I got LOTS of pics in there and around that area and Opryland Hotel! :)

Carol, I am glad your grandson had a wonderful time and made it home safely in all the crazy weather lately!

Etta Sue,  I am glad you can make the blankets and things! (Arthritis and tendinitis has taken a lot away from me.) I know people are blessed with your works. I had no idea water color paints have got so expensive!

Larry, Glad you got a good nights sleep! I know how not getting them is! I went to the library yesterday and got the income tax books and forms.

Jeanne Lee, Are you snowed in?

I was almost recuperated yesterday from so much fun Sunday, then yesterday after a night of only a couple hours of sleep went to a doc appointment and ran my brother around to stores and paying bills. I was so tired last night I fell asleep with the windows rattleing and the tornado syrans sounding! I was to tired to even think about worrying! A neighbors Bradford pear tree split right down the middle. They are beautiful trees in the fall, but if you do not keep them pruned right they will split soon as a storm comes. All kinds of trees down all over my town and neighboring towns, 2 tornadoes next to Nashville.
Today was another day of doctors, blood tests, (I guess I was dehydrated, the lady dug around in my arm trying to get blood, then went to my hand, that is so much more painful in the hand! (But the Lord always gets me through) and then to the hospital for a chest x-ray. I got up the nerve to ask for the thyroid collar before x-ray! He said sure it is right here! Why do we have to ask?
I was so tired I fell asleep watching TV, so here I am on my night life again!

Lifting everyone in prayer! Have a wonderful blessed weekend!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Good to read the posting from everyone.

It is another beautiful day and is to get to the mid-60's this afternoon.  Sure don't envy you folks having all the snow and cold weather.

I have a meeting to attend this morning and then should have a quiet afternoon and evening.  Hope you all have a nice day.

Jeanne Lee

We did get over a foot of snow, but the dire warnings about high winds never did really develop.  When there's this much snow I keep pushing my storm door open as it builds up.  Year before last it got so high and so heavy I couldn't open the door more than an inch or so.  So now I make sure that, even if it means trudging through knee deep stuff, I can at least get out in case of emergency.

Just got interrupted by a phone call while I was typing this.  My oldest son found out my vcr/dvd bit the dust and is going to replace it!  Somewhere over the years I must have done something right, in spite of my self!   :D

Ivalou and I went to Lapel this morning for breakfast.  Can't believe it but I had 6 half-slices of French toast, 2 nice size sausage patties and coffee for $5.82 including tax.   :tissue:  Oh, no!  I just remembered I forgot the tip!  Must remember to leave it for the gal twice the next time!  Now I feel bad.

Snow is melting but it is still on the ground.  The last big snow was a lot of blowing so the snow is heavy and thin.  Most of my driveway is okay but there are still drifts that are 2 feet deep in the yard.  But the 7-day forecast is telling us that it is to be in the 50's four days this next week!  Heat wave!!

I got a 7-ounce skein of yarn crocheted into the baby afghan yesterday.  Weird colors but this new little boy's room is earth tones and light blue.  The pattern I like best, I use a main color and then a variegated for the edge.  I didn't like the blues so I am making a dark brown with a variegated brown and blues for the edge.  For sure, a boy's baby afghan!

Must get to the mailbox and then crochet some more while watching recorded TV shows!

Hi, friends, it's so good to hear from everyone. The wedding's tomorrow, so I'm considering going to earlyy worship at the church across the street. My daughter would like for me to be at the wedding location by 11:00.

Y'all have a good evening.

We are home again!  Long, tough drive to Los Lunas, in the big pickup, pulling a big box trailer.  The wind was just awful from about Stratford, Texas, the rest of the way, and brought our mileage down to about 4--- FOUR!! MPG.  :o  We could hardly pass by a filling station.  We had a pretty nice visit with grandson and family; they took us to supper, and they had rented a motel room for us.  (They had already loaded their extra bed!)

This morning, we went to their house, hooked onto our trailer they had borrowed and had loaded and ready, and headed home.  Got better mileage, made better time, dropped off the trailer in Moscow at their house and came on home.  Not nearly as much wind today.  The trailer we took up there was Curt's Dad's.  Anyway, tired but happy to be home again.

I called this morning to check on Mom, nurse said she was doing well and her sugar had held steady so she didn't need insulin.  For those who commented, Mom does have a Living Will and a DNR, but they say those do not pertain to the sugar issues she is having.  I really needed this little break, will get back up tomorrow to see about her and Beth.

Thanks for all your caring words, and especially your prayers.

:)  Well did we have a busy day. we were at three different places inc. two Shopping malls and I think that everyone and there mother abd father was with them as the major snow that dumped on us yesterday started to melt again so it was very slopy and of course no handicap parking spots for my wife as she does have a permit so we had to park a much further walk than usual.

Vapor:   Thanks for asking how we are feeling.  Cannot seem to get rid of the cough and Noreen has had it a lot longer than me.

Etta Sue:  I still do not know where you get all that energy from can you send me some I am glad to here that you are getting rid of some of the snow also.

Jeanne Lee:  I wish that I lived a bit closer to you as ther must be something that you could d o to stop having to go and open up that door when you get to much snow.  That must be a real pain.  Do be careful when you go out as you do not want to slip..

Again to all C.P. have a wonderful day in the Lord's house.  God Bless.    Gord and Noreen. :) :cheer: :cp: :dogrun:

Good morning.  Busy day for me today.  First I am running the projector system at church today.  Then Sunday School.

After Sunday School we are to go to the basement for a Sunday Brunch.  The deacons are giving us a meal since this is Fuel day.  There will be an old coal bucket that we are to give a donation to help pay the fuel bill this winter for the church.  There is a contest for coats.  Oldest coat.  Weirdest coat. And something else.  And I am taking my camera for pictures.

Then this evening is Small Group at the minister's house.

And the Oscar's tonight.  I didn't see many movies this year though so may not watch it all.

Everyone have a God's day at your church!

Hi everyone.  Have eaten breakfast and now having a cup of coffee and catching up here and other places on the computer.

Etta Sue, like you this is going to be a busy day here.  I have to be back at the church this evening at 4:50 as tonight is our annual Chili Show and Talent Supper (that is what it is called--I don't the words backwards).  The choir members provide the chili and hot dogs and the congregation is asked to bring a desert.  Different acts can sign up to do a talent number and it is always a fund show.  The choir is doing a couple of old gospel hymns this year.  One of them is "On the Jericho Road".  However, before the show we have to get the large room set up, the chili heated and the hot dogs ready.  The congregation does support this event very well and it is from this effort that we are able to hire musicians about once a year for our Cantata, buy choir room needs and music, etc.  I will be glad when it is over as it is very exhausting and I don't know how much I can do to help this year.  I will do what I can and then will have to rest.  I will really be glad when it is over as have not been looking forward to it.  This is about the 17th year that it has been held annually.

Janet, sure glad you are safely home.  It sounds like that was a very expensive trip for you all and not a very pleasant one other than seeing your grandson and family.  Glad your mother is getting along better and hope you find her and Beth doing OK when you visit them today.

Etta Sue, I looked at the pictures of the Beef and Boards show you attended.  Those were some colorful costumes.  I have never seen that play but it sounds like a lot of fun.  It sounds like you have a really busy day today.

Gord, do you have a transport chair for your wife and do the malls have wheelchairs or electric carts to use for those that are handicapped?  However, it sounds like there were so many people that one probably wouldn't be available even if they do have those things.  Glad you felt like getting out for awhile.

Ruth Ann, hope you have a wonderful and joyous time at your daughter's wedding today.

Jeanne, glad the snow wasn't as bad as you expected, nor with wind.  It is 59 degrees now and suppose to get up to 74 degrees by 4 pm.  It is beginning to look a lot like spring down here with the flowering trees in bloom, green grass showing up in yards and other signs of spring.  I do hope it isn't a false experience as we still have to get through March.

To all who look in today we hope you will join us on our daily journey and leave a word or two (or many more) to let us know you.

:)   Good afternoon.   Well we again woke up to more snow but thank goodness it was very light but I tried to shovel it and I got to the bottom of the driveway and my back decided to go out so my neighbour and his family finished it.    I sure will be glad to see the end of winter and also get my snow blower fixed.

We were able to get to church today and we are having a series on prophesy and it is very interesting and also some scary  using Math. 24-29-35 and a lot of other scriptures.

We hope that you all have a wonderful week and stay safe and we pray that you will have opprtunities to give a witness for the Lord Jesus.   God Bless to all.   Gord and Noreen.

Larry:  Noreen doe's have a walker and a wheelchair and also a scooter so she does not have to depend on going to customer service at the malls.  Praise the Lord for that. :cp: :dogrun:

Larry, please don't overdo at your choir fund raiser today. It sounds like a very enjoyable event, but you need to just let others do the work, as we want to keep you around!

Ruth Ann, I expect the wedding may be over by now.  I hope it was lovely and that all went well.  I'm looking forward to hearing all about it.

Our new pastor is to arrive this afternoon with his family.  The whole church is excited about that.  Several have spent many hours at the parsonage cleaning, repairing, cleaning, cleaning.....and getting rid of useless junk left by the former occupants.  It is a shame that some people treat a house and yard like that, when they aren't the owners.  They just don't care how much time and expense and work is left for others to take care of the problems they leave.  Grrrr.  :clobber:

I want to go to Hugoton this evening to hear a special speaker at the kids' church.  Chip Brimm is a former coach, now he trains Champions for Christ.  Diane said he was really good this morning.

I seem to be having trouble getting rested..........

The snow has been cleared off my front porch and steps and driveway.  All that's left to do is cleaning off my car.  Praise the Lord for caring neighbors!

Gord, it's not really that bad to push open the door as long as I do it often enough.  And it's much better than being unable to open it at all, such as I had for four days a couple of years ago.  That incident made me paranoid so now I keep it free.   :)   I don't venture out, of course, until everything as been cleared, but I need to know the door will open in case of a real emergency.

Jeanne, how I do wish you could send a lot of that snow down here!  Everything is dry, brown, dusty and dreary here---and today the old wind is raging again.

Stay safe, we love you!

Hi Folks.

It has been an interesting weekend.  John came home Friday and we had part of the evening together running errands.  He was supposed to go back out on Saturday but God had other plans.  We had a call from Kassie asking dad to pick her up for church. It has been a wonderful day with her.  She had to be back for her job babysitting at 2:00 and John took her in the truck.  We need prayer for Kassie as she has been really ill and looks terrible.

John had a load to deliver at a store.  It was missed the previous day and it was a "hot" load.  When he got there he had the opportunity to talk with a Cree Indian from the James Bay region.  We went there many years back and John told him this.  This man proceeded to tell John that he had left the church because the one in charge deemed him "to young a Christian" and could not play guitar for the praise team.  (That passage in Timothy comes to mind here.)  John was led to discuss this with him and has told him that God has a purpose in saving him and keeping him.  By all accounts he should be dead with all that he has been through.  He has agreed to get back into church and use the talents God has given him.

I am asking that you pray for John this week.  He fell on ice today, this was his second fall.  He took a tumble earlier in the week again on ice.  His back hip knee and arm are really tender to the touch.  When God is using you, doesn't the enemy always try to put a stumbling block in your way.  This time it was physical.

God is good All the time.  Judy
