JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5

Wounded for me, wounded for me,
There on the cross He was wounded for me;
Gone my transgressions, and now I am free,
All because Jesus was wounded for me.

Dying for me, dying for me,
There on the cross He was dying for me;
Now in His death my redemption I see,
All because Jesus was dying for me.

Risen for me, risen for me,
Up from the grave He has risen for me;
Now evermore from death?s sting I am free,
All because Jesus has risen for me.

Living for me, living for me,
Up in the skies He is living for me;
Daily He?s pleading and praying for me,
All because Jesus is living for me.

Coming for me, coming for me,
One day to earth He is coming for me;
Then with what joy His dear face I shall see,
O how I praise Him?He?s coming for me!

John got going at about 10:20.  The roads were clear but there were trucks blocking him.  Thankfully if all goes well he will be in Canada about 8;00 this evening. I am  praying that all goes well.

I had a pregnant cat meet me at my bedroom door this morning with all the signs that babies were on the way. This is the cat that isn't very sociable, however when I went out she again waited till I was home to continue with the birthing procedure.  She is at this moment between my feet as I keep the dog and other cat away. Kittens are cute as long as they are kittens, but kittens grow up.  This cat is our best mouser.

It was -30 C this morning (that would be -22F).  Mighty cold to go out into.  A friend asked us to dogsit Autumn again.  We love this dog, she is an Australian shepherd, and is a rusty colour.  She literally smiles, when she greets her people. I do have a picture of her.....on my tower computer, and I can't get to it.  I will see if I can find another to post for you all to see.

Heather is enjoying college, and doing well. They lost (ran away) a cat and their turtle didn't survive the trip.  There is sadness over that.  The rest of their menagerie survived.

We can rejoice that we are alive and able to think for ourselves.  Praise God for the freedoms we do have!

Did I tell all y'all that I adopted another sick cat? Harry has Leukemia, he is a great cat, looks a lot like Grubby, Black and White with long hair.  On Tuesday after I got home from work, they called me and told me that one of our regular clients had brought in a beautiful cat that tested positive for Leukemia but she didn't want the cat to be put down. So they called a ask if I would take the cat. Oh yes I certainly will. He is very loving and likes to have his tummy rubbed. He has met happy close up this morning and only hissed once. For now he is hiding in the bathroom that is i the hall right across from this room where I am most of the time., so that is where I am feeding him and I put his litter box in the tub. I am introducing him to the other animals one at a time but they have all gone to the open bathroom door and looked at him.The clinic neutered him for free and put the Revolution flea med on him before I picked him up. He also had a couple of teeth extracted. I think he was a  stray that got trapped by our client.

Well this has been a productive day.  I have baked 6 loaves of bread, two white, 2 brown, amd 2 herbbed. When money is tight I need to get creative.  Boy does the house smell good! I also got ahead of the crunch and john's lunches are made as well.  So this will be an easier weekend.

I was just listening to the weather report. Mild with snow tonight and tomorrow then the thermometer is to plummet really low even for us.  Well I have a warm home, reliable transportation, food and plenty of wood to burn.  We will be fine!

Have a geat evenng folks God bless.

Carol

Al:  Thank you for your lesson in Grace.  I will go back and try to print it out once again.  You are so patient and nice to answer my questions.

Don is still coughing - a tiny bit better today but he is going to stay home until this is completly over.  I waited 45 minutes for a prescription today - lots of sickness out there.

Janet:   May the medics be given wisdom in solving the problem with Beth's headaches - praying.  That was great and stunning news on your grandson.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It is another chilly but clear day here in the Atlanta area.  I had a great nights sleep and don't think I woke up once during the night until it was time to get up this morning.  That makes two very restful nights in a row, although I seldom have trouble sleeping I usually wake up a few times.  Nothing out of the ordinary on the schedule today although while at McDonalds there was a little car accident but they drove off after talking a bit and then an older lady fell stepping up on the curb but seemed to be OK as walked on in to McDoanald's.  The manager talked to her but she said she was all right and we saw her walk to her car and leave.  That was a bit frightening as falls can be so bad as we age.   I do need to make a trip to the local grocery to return some frozen broccoli.  I had purchased two packages and when Pat opened the first one last evening she called to my attention it really didn't look good.  However, she went ahead and microwaved it and it then looked and smelled even worse and we threw it out.  So I will take back the unopened, as well as the opened package, and get my money back.  It was an off brand (in more ways than one).

Etta Sue, I have owned the Halley's Bible Handbook for many years.  Unfortunately, I don't know where is is anymore but doubt that I have gotten rid of it.  I do remember it is a very nice companion to the Bible.  Hope you get to make the trip to Florida.

Janet, wonderful news regarding Addison.  Sure hope the CT scan will tell the doctor something so he will know how to help Beth.  Glad to read you had some rest.

Chrisle, I can almost smell the aroma from your baking.  Nothing better than homemade bread when it is nice and fresh.

Janet, little kittens are so cute.  Glad to read John was able to get on his way.

Marilyn, I saw the picture of your cat, I think on Facebook.  At least it was under your name.

Carol, we were talking at coffee this morning about the items that can be the most likely to have germs on them and apparently the top of the list is menus in eating places.  I had never thought of that.  Glad to read that Don was felling a bit better yesterday and hope that continiues.

Ooops I forgot to post this last night!!!

Did you notice the crystals on the snow yesterday morning, Judy? They were sparkling in the frigid sunrise.

I was asked my the mechanic, who is going to repair my car, to bring it in as the dealership had given him the wrong module and he needed to take it off to read the part number..... so in I went (55 minutes to North Bay.) Fortunately I transferred over to synthetic oil, so the car started instantly...... LOTS of frost inside and outside the windows and it took at least a half an hour to really warm up.

The trip in gave me a chance to spend time with my daughter. We chatted over coffee for over an hour.

Still no resolution in regards to the module, as that version is no longer being made or stocked....... we will just have to wait and see if one can be found in a scrapyard or another alternative found..... As I said before, a very small problem when compared to other problems many C.P.ers are praying about.

I'm especially remembering Nita's sister. I had a friend, a couple of years ago, who walked so close to God all through her suffering. I read her blog every day and what a wonderful encouragement she was to her husband and three children. Her eldest daughter wrote the final blog, when she was taken Home. What a testament she was........

Good night morning, friends...... Life is good when He is our Guide!!!

Larry, My son, sent this link this morning, I thank God He gives us an immune system.... http://xkcd.com/1161/

A little more moderate temperatures today - enough to let us catch our breath before the next deep, deep freeze arrives next week.  I am constantly thanking the Lord for a cozy home with the means to pay for the running of the furnace and that I have a way to keep enough moisture in the heated air.  I just got a notice yesterday that HEAP is paying almost 1/3 of my heating bill this year.  I can't imagine what it must be like for the homeless people in this weather.  May our loving Father comfort and protect them!

Ruth I did see the sparkling chrystals......I wondered if I could photo them then got busy with a cat having kittens.. She had 4 this time, I think, I haven't really checked.  She is under my desk and there IS a strange, to her,  dog in the house.

John made it back to Ontario last night, the balance of his trip was uneventful. I like uneventful trips for him.  He did get stopped by the storm that hit Karma's area on Thursday.

THe bread was wonderful warm.  Going to make savory biscuits today and maybe some raisin scones.  I am feeling the cold today so having the oven going for this will warm me up. I suppose time for a warm sweater!

Have a great day folks!

JudyB

Jeanne That is wonderful about your heating bill!

Janet I have been meaning to ask you, have you heard anything from Meika?  She has been on my heart a lot lately.

JudyB

Larry it is rough when a person falls, as we get older it becomes more dangerous.  Be careful as you travel around.  If the weather is bad stay in!  How is Stacey.

Janet

Judy--no, I haven't heard from Mieka in a long time.  I have been wondering if maybe Pat had heard from her.  I think aout her often, too.  Such a sweetheart.

I was supposed to go to scrapbooking today, but since I am still coughing and sneezing some I thought it better for the others if I stay away.  I can go work in my studio and get some things done that have been neglected for far too long.  Maybe I will even do a little painting!

You gals are so ambitious with all your baking!  I like to bake but neither of us is supposed to be eating white bread or sweets, so I don't often bake.  But I can practically smell those wonderful odors from here!

Thanks for the comments on Beth and Addison.  God is still in the miracle business, and isn't that a wonderful thing for us?

Darrel is watching The Alamo. Such a sad chapter in our history, and what brave men those Texans were!

Another very pleasant day here, weather wise.

Larry, glad you had good rest the past two nights!

I love reading about all the praises today!  And yes, God is still in the miracle business.

I, too, have had Mieka on my mind lately ever since I found an old email list and her name was on it!  I wish she would come back and say Hi with her witty personality!  I just know Mieka is still working for God and using her chef skills somewhere!

Today I got some dusting done.  I don't mind dust.  I don't mind people writing in my dust...just don't put a date on it!!  Really, it wasn't that bad but it was dusty!

The heat pump still isn't working.  I got a call saying that a man was sick and they were running behind yesterday and could they wait until Monday to come fix the heat pump.  What can you say?  If they can't do it, then you have to wait!!

JudyB

I asked Pat about Meika the last time I was down Janet, she said to ask you. LOL Etta Sue do you have an email for her....Maybe someone could email her?  With all of us having her on our heart I believe God is saying to pray for her.  So where two or three are gathered.....  Father be with Meika and touch her, let her know of your presence in her life no matter the circumstances.  Keep her safely in your care.

Well baking is done for today raisin biscuits are still in the oven.....smelling good!

John is on his way home, will be here soon, so I think I will make a pot of soup, that with biscuits will hit the spot for both of us!

Till later

Janice

Judy, thanks for cropping my picture, I appreciate it.
Hello to all friends here today.  I hope everyone is well and no flu at your house.  There is no large outbreak in our area, at least the schools are only having normal absences they say.

One of my smoke detector' s battery went dead...nearly drove me crazy beeping all day and night!  GrDtr came by @ noon today and changed it for me.

My other GrDtr, her hubby and son will be leaving for Korea soon.  He is in the Army at El Paso, TX currently. (Ft Bliss).  Their son is named Sidney...that was Earl' s first name.  They will come to see me before they leave.

Y' all have a great Lord' s Day tomorrow.  I hope I get to go to church.
Adios,  Janice
This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.   Ps 118:24

Ruth Ann Bice

Hi, friends,

I'm catching my breath after working on one of my pieces of furniture that needs to move, so I'm installing casters on it.

It's been a most beautiful day and now temps, beginning with tomorrow, are supposed to nosedive down from almost 60 degrees Fahrenheit to about 15 by Monday night. Brrrrr.

Y'all have a wonderful rest tonight, and enjoy the blessings of God throughout the evening and all day tomorrow.

Love,
Ruth Ann

We had strong winds last night.  I thought around 2:30am it was a tornado.  But the house is still standing and warm.  All the trees are upright, also!

Sun is shining but still windy and cold.  I am ready for church...just waiting for time to start the car so it might be warm when I get in it.  I love the remote starter!!

Ivalou's kitchen light was on when I got up so she is going to church also!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Another bright, chilly and sunny morning here in our area.  Yesterday it got up to about 60 degrees, which was very nice.  I am ready for church but it is still a couple of hours from now.  I expect we will go out to lunch if Pat feels up to going this morning.  She just went to lay back down as isn't feeling so good right now but have taken an Alieve so hope that will soon do its work for her. This afternoon will be devoted to rest and then watching the championship football games and pulling for the Atlanta Falcons to beat the 49ers.

RuthV, your description of the snow crystals reminds me of how beautiful the snow and ice crystals are in Alaska in the early morning.  We had a wire type fence and the sun would reflect off of it and the trees and yards and it was almost blinding.  Nice you could spend time with your daughter and not just sit and wait for the mechanic.  It can be very frustrating when parts are not available for something we own.  Thanks for the link on the hand sanitizer.

Jeanne, we are blessed when we have warm homes and food and can pay for utilities.  Glad you are getting some help with the heating costs.

Judy, John certainly has a sterling driving record.  I was asking him about it and it sure represents many hours of sitting in a truck driving.  I think I would have quite a time with our cold weather as am cold down here when it isn't really that cold.  We did not hear from Stacey yesterday.  Pat tried to call her but she apparently had her phone turned off as she often does when she is sleeping.  We will need to hear from her today or I will be headed down there.  She was able to see the chiropractor on Friday and said that helped some with the pain she is experiencing.

Janet and Judy, it has been a long time since Mieka checked in with us.  You are so right that God is in the miracle business if we but open our eyes and hearts to seeing and feeling them each day as they are there for us and each other.

Etta Sue, you are too much with not dating the dust.  It sure gave me a chuckle this morning.  Thankfully due to our housekeepers that doesn't seem to be a problem here anymore.  With forced air heating we all have dust circulating in our homes.

Janice, those loud beeps every minute or so from a low battery on a smoke detector really do get on a person's nerves.  Glad you were able to get a new battery in and stop the noise.  Better your granddaughter and family will be in Korea than in Afghanistan in terms of safety.

Ruth Ann, I do hope you weren't lifting furniture?  Have you seen the new lifting tool they have that works like a lever so you can get the sliding pads under legs of furniture?  My friend has one and said it really works well.  They were advertising them on TV.

Janet

Praise God for a beautiful new day.  We just got up, very late for even Darrel, as we both had "J" nights.  I don't have any idea why I couldn't sleep, I just couldn't.  So after lying there and trying to go to sleep for 4 hours, I got up 2 and watched a video I got from the 700 Club about Life Beyond the Grave.  Darrel had watery diarrhea, not nice, but he does know why he wasn't sleeping!  ;)  So we are barely up in time to get dressed and head to church.  The van is still in the shop, so we cannot take Beth today.  Sigh....... :(

And this ol' gal better get off her computer and get ready to go!
