Janet would you post the link to the hospital once again.

Rain here this morning, seems to have stopped now.

guess I'll go vote.

Marilyn, I don't know exactly what it is, but Pat posted screen shots of just how to do it some days ago.  Only thing different will be Beth's room number, which is now 5029.  Thanks.

Ruth

Hot and humid with a breeze from time to time and that seems to make it comfortable.

I went to the post office this morning to mail another of my now daily letters to Allan.    When leaving here I will put something in the prayer list.  I will say that we  here on CP all are hurting for different reasons  but ........................... to that I will say no more.   God is in control and will heal and guide when needed.

Etta Sue: I still use your animations.  Thanks

Marilyn:   Good to see you home and your lovely pictures

Marilyn:  All your pictures are so neat and it looks like a restful and scenic place to visit.

Here comes the rain, wind and thunder.  Every afternoon.  We always need the moisture.

Janet:  So nice that you had a visitor and she even brought baked goodies.

Jeanne Lee

We need moisture, too.  We're almost 6 inches below normal for the year so far and it seems the thunderstorms that are predicted every evening and night are just going around us.   :(

Pat

Oh, yes, Ruth--hot and humid.  Wow!  What a couple of days we've had.

I'm sorry about Allan.  I'm happy though that you put it in the Prayer and Praise area.  My life has been such lately that I've missed many messages in the Thoughts due to "busy-ness" but hopefully that will change soon.

Take care, Ruth.

Hi, all.

Janet, the news of Beth just gets better and better.

My sister is here now, so we share my computer.  She's still not sure if and when she'll move in completely.  I'm not online as much as I was, partly because I don't want to leave her sitting in the living room alone, and partly because she uses it to check her mail and play games.

Etta Sue, I got my mowing finished yesterday, and we had rain last night.  With this sun and rain, sun and rain, the grass grows so quickly.  Every time I mow, I fall more in love with my electric start mower. :)  It starts so smooth and no hard yanking.

6:34 and I'm already getting sleepy.  I was just falling asleep this afternoon when the phone rang.  It always does. lol  I wonder how people know you are napping?

G'night all.  Nita

Janet

Ruth, I pray Allan is getting better and stronger each day.  It is so stressful when you are concerned for a loved one's health.

Beth slept all afternoon, so I was able to lie in a recliner in her room, finish a book I was reading, and get a little rest.

Now I am ready to go to sleep myself.

Ruth a lot of folks here on CP are praying for Alan.  We will continue to do so.  Don't loose heart.

Janet I am glad you are able to get some rest.  Good and I am continuing to pray.

Marilyn ~ Here's where you send Beth and Janet a card.  Beth Brandt...St.Francis Campus...room 5029.  It's fun and quick and you know you are bringing a smile to others.  Send to Janet through Beth...Janet isn't a patient!!

Today is my check up with the surgeon.  I do believe the good results are kicking in.  I think the anti-biotics causes a problem.  You women know what anti-biotics will do to women so an over the counter box did the trick and I have been very happy about the results since.  Also want to go to Best Buy, Staples, WalMart and Ivalou is going with me so that means eating out somewhere.  That's no surprise, right?  Today is her day to decide where to eat!  Even day...I decide if it is an odd day.

Then this evening we take our baked items to church for the Bake Sale tomorrow at the Farmer's Market.

Kitty did a very good demonstration on Movie Maker.  Her laptop was slow but other than that a great presentation.  Her and Bob leave sometime today for Hilton Head.  I will miss her but I will be getting emails.

Suppose to get in the 90's again today!

Hi everyone.  I see I didn't get to CP yesterday so want to do so this morning before it slips my mind or I get busy.  I have a friend coming over this morning to work on something but otherwise just plan on taking it easy today.

A few days ago I turned in bed and felt something very uncomfortable.  I saw the doctor yesterday and I have a hernia.  I am to see a surgeon on the 7th of July for a consultation.  The doctor said the repair would be done with laproscopic surgery and it should take care of the problem.  I find I am not feeling real chipper as there is a dull ache in the area.

I also learned yesterday that I have a basal cell carcanoma between my lip  and my nose where I had the place removed last week.  So I have been referred to a micro dermitologist to have that removed using a MOHS procedure where they take off very thin layers of skin and examine it under a microscope and keep doing that until there is no more cancer present.  I had tought everything was going to be fine as the place is healed up and I have been able to use the electric razor on it for the first time in many, many months.

Janet, so glad that your friends were able to cheer you up with their visit.  Also it sounds like Beth continues to make good progress every day.  I suppose each morning when you go to the hospital it is a guessing game as to what room you will find her in.

It continues to be very hot down here in Geogria.  There is a good chance we will have rain later this afternoon and that will be welcome.

Hope everyone has a good day and are able to stay cool.

Marilyn

Thank you Etta sue, I found the link you had posted earlier and was able to send a card yesterday.

Sunshine here today, Keith was watering the lawn before he went to work this morning. He mowed on Monday, it sure was  a mess when we got back from Sunriver.  I am glad that I don't have to do the mowing anymore.

Today being Friday I am going to vacuum the house today, I  cleaned  all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen yesterday. I don't have to cook supper tonight, On Friday night we usually ave something quick and simple like Pizza or Subway Sandwiches. We can put away a large pizza between us, and with pizza we sometimes have a glass of wine or split a beer other times just a glass of Apple juice will suffice.

I have completed 4 sets of PSP lessons over the last few months and now will be starting  the 5th set of lessons, this is all part of the Stepping Stones through PSP lessons.

Well I need to go outside and water my garlic and get busy on the vacuuming.

Good morning!  We are now into Day 29 in Wichita hospital, day 5 in Select Specialty.  And I hope she doesn't have any more room changes, this is pretty comfortable, and she is enjoying being able to see outside.  When I came, I fed her breakfast, but an hour later, it came back up.  The doctor is unhappy and puzzled as to why that is happening.

They had two groups of nurses in here, to be taught how to set the controls on her rotation bed, and the tech discovered it won't turn her to the left.  The nurses and I had been saying that all along.  Anyway, a new pump has been ordered for her bed.

The nurse just came in to change the dressing/sponges on her wound vac, for which she needs pain meds.  She seems more tired than yesterday, but that's not too uncommon, I don't think.

Thanks for keeping those Get-well-o-grams coming!  That's what they call them.  Today we got greetings from: Etta Sue, Larry, Marilyn, Larry, Jane, and two people from her NF chat room.  Each one brings smiles!  Thanks, you're the best!

I am documenting in photos her journey, and want to take some of the wound again today.

Larry, I don't like hearing that you have two additional problems.  That shouldn't happen to someone as nice as you!  Prayers go up and best wishes and thoughts come to you from Wichita.  God bless you.

More later, probably...........

I'm here ... just being my silent self.  :-\  My daughter told me she is "practicing silence" while reading a book on the topic by Bob Kilpatrick, a good friend and former Youth pastor.  She says she'll send me a copy ... I think I need it, too!

Today I have an appointment at the Dental Lab ... ugh ... not exactly looking forward to it, but it is a necessity that I can't ignore too much longer.   ::)
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass .... it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Carol

Jane:  I have a temporary cap that is just driving me over the edge - two more weeks of this and I hope the new cap fits better.  Silence is golden.

Jeanne:  We have had over 8 years of drought so the clouds would look promising and nary a drop of rain but now we are in a springtime pattern.  Everything is green and still have to be wary of the water supply.

Larry:  It does sound like a quick fix for you and let us hope that the healing will be fast as well.

Janet:  Do hope they get to the problem with Beth not being able to keep her food down.  Maybe is little portions more times per day?

What a strange society we are - I am thinking of what dominates our news.  We get tabloid talk whether we want it or not.  Even on the financial channels -

Jane Walker

Carol, my mother said that often: "Silence is golden" and this smart-mouthed teenager would reply just as often: "I guess that's why we are so poor, then" ....   :-\ :D

Ho ho ho That sounds like a crack that would be said in our home through the years by different individuals!!! Thankfully neither of these two have tried it!

Ruth

Larry:   Your surgery will be fine I know of someone here in Toronto that had it done with 100% good results.

I have had a very trying afternoon but that I guess is what happens when someone gets to be 90 and yes still walking on her own.

Mel and our son Doug have gone on a weekend fishing trip.

Tomorrow I will also have a full day.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

Carol

One son & spouse came over for a little visit - here, they come by often but they always call and we, in turn, always call there too.

LOL on the golden silence comments.

Good night Northern hemisphere!

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  Another week seems to have flown by and it is Saturday again.  I got up early to do some maintenance work on Pat's computer.  The icons keep disappearing.  I am hoping the maintence will solve the problem.

It is going to be really hot again here today.  While I will be out this morning I plan on staying in this afternoon and evening.

Thank you all for the reassurances on the treatments ahead.  I am no very concerned.  I have learned to take things as they come and try to just enjoy the blessing that God has provided today.  Jane, I think practicing silence is one of the hardest things I can do and yet I know it is important.  How can we hear what God is trying to say to us if we do all the talking and don't become silent and listen.

Carol, I thought Georgia had a bad drought lasting 3 years but 8 years is really a long time.  It looks like our drought is over and most of the water restrictions have been removed.

Ruth, I am sure that fishing time shared by father and son is very valuable.  I remember one Saturday our son had with me when his birthday present was a day of his time.  We went out to eat together, he took me to a movie I wanted to see, we went to Fry's together and we talked and it was wonderful.  It is one of those memories I hope I never forget.  It wasn't the things we did but the time we spent together that was important and so special.

Janet, you are certainly exhibiting selfless love in your devotion and attention to your daughter.  I am sure your presence with Beth makes her difficult journey just a bit less so than it otherwise would be.  A smile from someone we love is a precious gift.

Marilyn, you are going to be very accomplished with the PSP.  You already make beautiful graphics.

Jeanne Lee

Good morning, all.  Last night I slept the best I have in a while so today I have no excuse for doing nothing.  ;)

We're in our summer pattern of possible scattered thunderstorms every afternoon and evening but with only about 30% chance of them actually arriving - and thus only 30% chance of the rain we need.  The only place my grass is growing and healthy is along the path where the leach (leech?) field pipes are underground.

I forgot to call yesterday to get my prescription refilled and delivered and there's no delivery on Saturday so I'll have to take the 15 mile drive to the drug store myself - and that means I need to fill the gas tank, at $2.799 per gallon.   :(
Click for Corinth, New York Forecast" border="0" height="41" width="127

Al Moak

Don't complain, Jeanne.  I wish gas were still $2.80 here.  It's more like $3.30.

JudyB

The best we can do here in the north is $3.60 per US gallon.  Everywhere we go we have to drive, so as a result we don't go far these days.  At least that is better than the 5.25 we were paying last winter.

We have a beautiful day here today.  The sun is shining, and we had enough rain last night that the worst of the humidity has gone.  I wound up putting an extra blanket on the bed last night.  I would rather have the extra blanket than closing the windows.

John will be home this afternoon, he is in Arnproir Ontario. Check that out if you want....

Janet

Good Saturday to you all.  I think I need a little break.  I am starting to notice the tears flowing when I am not even aware of them.  Sigh.....  I know I am homesick and tired, but I will keep on keeping on; I just can't leave Beth here alone, with no family to check on her, even.  And I am doing the lion's share of caring for her.  There have been several times when she started vomiting, that if I hadn't been here, she might well have aspirated it into her lungs.   :(  Okay, enough of that!

Are all of you as sick of seeing/hearing about Michael Jackson as I am?  Even the national news spent all b ut about seven minutes of their broadcast on it last evening.  ENOUGH, ALREADY!!  :P   Of course, I know God loved him, and hope that sometime before his death someone crossed his path and told him about the good news of God's love, and that he accepted the Lord.

I am hoping someone of the few people I have met here in Wichita will invite and come to take me to church tomorrow.  I really need that.

A little smile for you:  Flu remedies--if you have bird flu, you need tweekment; and if you have swine flu, oinkment will do the trick.

Another weekend......and day 30 here in the hospital.

Thanks, Larry.  You always say the kindest things.
My book Rising Above available at JanetDamon.com

Your "smiles" are good Janet.  If Beth were in a hospital closer to your home she you could at least go home to your own bed.  I pray that will happen sooner rather than later.  You do need a break!

Etta Sue

The surgeon visit was trying.  First, it was the longest I have had to wait for years.  Second, the Physician's Assistant had a hard time putting in different programs in my Programmer.  Third, the cost was atrocious!

I did get more programs on the stimulator but I haven't tried a different one yet.  Maybe this afternoon.  I have been doing much much better in the last 4 days so there is light at the end of the tunnel after all.

I went to Best Buy to see if I could get a cord/cable to see my monitor screen on my laptop on my TV.  They said that they didn't have such a varmint and to purchase a DVD player...I am probably the only person in my county that doesn't own a DVD player set up for my TV.  I don't care to watch movies.  I wanted this cord/cable to play a DVD for Bible Study in August at my house.

Then I got my 3 photo entries to the State Fair printed at Staples.

Then to WalMart for some food items.  I wanted to get a watch band but they didn't have one that I liked that fit my watch.  And didn't have time to look at DVD players.

And I took my baked items and Ivalou's baked items to church last evening and also installed some mini-movies on the pc there.

Today I am being lazy...not planning on doing much of anything except make a Cornbread Salad for the church picnic tomorrow evening.

SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE SIN NO MORE

Liz

A beautiful morning here on the island.  Good walking weather.  I have to walk down to the drugstore for presc. and also to the bank.

Wendy has gone into Duncan to the hospital and needs to be there for my SIL.  She left really early.  The operated on my SIL yest. and removed his gall bladder and also operated on a hernia that they didn't even know was there!!!  His vitals failed during the operation and they had a problem.  Then Wendy saw a problem afterwards, called the nurse and they gave him oxygen.  Something to do with his heart and a large vein in his neck, that Wendy spotted.  Surgeon said he would be sent home this morning.....can you even imagine??  I am amazed that they don't just wheel them out of the operating room and into the family car.  Our system has deteriorated beyond belief....

When waiting for Ralph to be admitted his sister and her husband also came in.  They had been in Vanc. and got a call for her to come home.   She has learned that she has breast cancer and they want to operate immediately.  Not a good day.

Janet, you are truly a tower of strength for Beth.  This must be so hard on both you and your husband.  Despite all the sadness in her life, Beth is really blessed to have you for her Mom.

I am sort of stressed and need to get out for a walk.  Nothing like fresh air and birds to make life seem okay.  Guess I am not living up to my Danish gene of always being optomistic.

Pleasant Day/Evening and God Bless.

Liz

Janet they are acting like he is the only one to die that day.  They seem to be forgetting Farrah Fawcett.  She had a long horrendous battle with cancer.  My hope as well is that someone crossed their path with the gospel.

I am sitting on the 'puter today when I have other stuff I should be doing.  I have no motivation.  My get up and go has got up and went!!!

Janet

Carol, she can only eat a few bites at a time.  Sometimes just a little sip of water triggers the vomiting.  I am bringing her a couple of strawberries and a few bing cherries each day that my friends bought for her, to tempt her to eat a little more.  She loves those.  For lunch, she ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and the only thing in her plate was....a little container of gravy!   :o  Seems to happen a lot, mixed up orders from the kitchen.  The nurse called down and got her a sandwich, and she could only eat two bites.  But two bites that stay is better than nothing.

Judy, I watched part of Farrah's Story last night, and from her journal, I do believe she was a Christian.  I agree she was a much nicer human being than Jackson, so why is he getting all the coverage?  They say he died over 500 million dollars in debt!!!  :o :o  Good grief. :P

I am really missing Darrel, and he, me.  Also, he has been passing blood in his urine, so I am really concerned about him.  He said last night that it had stopped, so I hope he is okay, but I hate being away when he needs me.  Guess I should be twins.  ;)

I am into the last book I have to read.  Darrel will bring me some more when he comes, but that is several days yet.  Guess I will do some research online if I don't have a book to read.

Weekends are the hardest because so many people are off work here then.

Hugs to you all.............

Liz, I am so sorry that Ralph is sick.  I know I am not the on ly one who is going through things, and apologize for being so consumed by Beth's illness I have been remiss in mentioning others' problems.  [[[hugs]]]

Ruth Ann called me today, and she has her hands full as well.  God bless us, every one!
