Morning Devotional...

Trusting in God's Promises

I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I will give thanks to your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness, because your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.

Psalm 138:2 NLT

God makes a promise, faith believes it, hope anticipates it, patience quietly awaits it.

unknown

Precious promises

When David Livingstone had to pass through the most dangerous country of the fierce native chief Mburuma and decide whether to furtively sneak through at night or go by day and risk being killed, he staked his life on the promise of Jesus' presence in Matthew 29:19-20: "Go and make disciples of all nations....And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." He wrote in his journal, "it is the word of a Gentleman of the most sacred and strictest honor, so there's an end on it!" Livingstone knew that God backs up his promises with all the honor of his name, so he proceeded in broad daylight, trusting in his Savior's promise. God fulfilled his Word, and Livingstone made the crossing safely because the Lord Jesus was beside him, just as he said he would be. God's promises are just as true and alive today for those who will pray them, trust them, stand on them, and walk in them.

THANK YOU, FATHER, for backing your promises by all the honor of your name. It is a mighty and powerful and trustworthy name! I give thanks to you for your unfailing love and faithfulness. Help me to move forward under your direction in the light of your unfailing and precious promises.

Standing on the Promises
(Click to hear music)

For all the promises of God in him are yea,
and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
2 Corinthians 1:20

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I?m standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love?s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit?s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
Listening every moment to the Spirit?s call
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Ruth

I just came by to say hello.  Presently the sun has gone behind a cloud but I had heard it was to rain so we will wait to see what happens.

I am on my way outside to sit and read a book and hope that my hair will dry faster. I usually do the wash and set in the morning but I was a little late. I cannot be on time all the time.  Correct.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6

JudyB

You are right Ruth....

It is overcast and muggy here.  We expect rain all  week, and it is badly needed to slow the forest fires.  The communities north are having a real struggle.

We are getting John's meals ready so have to go.

Jeanne Lee

Judy, thank you for that lovely devotion this morning and the perfect hymn to go with it.

This will give you an idea of where the fires are here in the north...Some not far from us as the crow flies.  http://forest.lrc.gov.on.ca/AFFM/fire/interactivemap/ActiveFires_table.htm  If you have google earth  you will get a better idea of where they all are.  We are in just west of Powassan..... Algonquin Park is south of us.

Betty

Judy, I enjoyed the devotional - thank you for posting it. Our devotional the last couple of days has been about being courageous as a Christian, and this was a good reminder. You fooled me a bit with the date in the subject line - thought maybe I could retire in a few days.  :)

We were down to Newmarket to see our sister-in-law who is dying of cancer. She has a tumour on her thyroid, and her lungs are full of cancer. She has a breathing tube and is attached to a respirator, and cannot talk, eat or drink. She is able to write her messages on paper, and gets frustrated when she can't talk. We are still praying for her salvation.

My Dad starts his dialysis this week. He will be going for training on Wed., Thurs., and Friday. My sister will be with him for the training. If it's possible, I will try to get up for part of it.

My brother-in-law had to have his eye operated on again. We are not sure if he will regain the sight in his eye.

Our Lord is good. He is in control, and we can rest in Him. He can give us peace no matter what our circumstances are ... and give us courage to face things in our lives. I see this in my Dad and my brother-in-law. They are a real example to us.

Judy - I'd heard of the fires near Timmins and Kirkland Lake (used to live there). Are they in your area too? I wasn't able to figure things out from the link you put there. Our conditions are pretty dry ... we really need rain.

Betty

Enjoying God's handiwork!

JudyB

Nothing In North Bay but there was/is a fire in Algonquin Park as well as Sudbury and communities north.

BigSkyKen

Very nice devotion, Judy.  Thank you for it and the song.  We only sing that hymn a couple times a year, but I enjoy it everytime!

I will be praying for you and your family, Betty.  It seems that you've had plenty of health challenges to deal with among your loved ones.

May you all have a blessed week.

Please pray for our wee new granddaughter.  She's in the ambulance right now with her Mummy headed toward the Cleveland Clinic.

They aren't sure what is wrong but it may be the cast on her club foot or something else.  She's been fussy extremely so--so much that her breathing is over 200 and they've had to put her on oxygen.  She's lethargic and just unwell.

Thank you!

I will be praying for her before sleeping.

I have an unspoken prayer request tonight.

May our wonderful Lord grant peace and rest for the little one, and for each of us, as well.

...his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  For some reason I woke up ready to get up this morning so am getting an early start on the day.  Other than going to coffee this morning and attending a meeting this evening the rest of the day will be devoted to staying in and staying cool.  After church yesterday a group of 11 of us went to a local place to eat.  The food was delicious but it was very slow and the waitress, although pleasant, presented incorrect checks to each of us which had to be redone.  They have a senior's menu, which we always order from as the portions are a bit smaller, and she charged all of us the full menu price.  It was two hours from the time church ended until we were home from lunch, not acceptable as that interfered with those afternoon naps on a Sunday afternoon.

I just had an email this morning from my granddaughter saying they would be signing a lease on a house in the next few days and moving.  The apartment where they have been living is being sold.  The new place will have a nice big yard in which the kids can play.  I am sure they will have a little more room than they now have and with four small children they can use it.

Judy, thanks for the devotional for this week.  God keeps his promises in accordance with his will for our lives.

Ruth, you are retired so no longer have to adhere to someone else's time table.  It is nice to do what we want to do when we want to do it.  Sitting out reading sounds like fun.

Judy, I don't think I realized that you all are having fires as well as parts of the USA.  Are you smelling the smoke?

Betty, it sounds like your family is sure in the midst of medically related events with your SIL and your Dad.

Ken, nice to see you postings.

Pat, so sorry to hear of the new problems for your new granddaughter.  Hope the Cleveland Clinic can find the problem quickly and address it and that she will not have a long hospital stay.

Ruth Ann, I have just prayed for your need as well as for Pat and Paul's wee granddaughter.

JudyB

No smoke, the wind is going toward the fires away from us.

I got all the lawns mowed before the rain only to find out the forcast has changed!  We need the rain. It is still hot and humid although it fcools down overnight for sleeping.

An update on Cayla Joy:

This was a post by Lowell (Linda's husband) earlier this morning:

Well here is the update as of this morning. They will be keeping Cayla for at least another 48 hours to run tests and to get results back. She is sleeping as of now. As we have come to know our little girl we know she is not feeling well and exhasuted. It took four people poking and prodding to find a vein to draw blood last night and she just layed there without a fight. That is not the little girl we know. She spit up again this morning and Linda said that apparently there was a little blood in it. They will be running other tests today to try and determine what is exactly wrong. They beieve possibly a respiratory infection but they are chacking to see if it is anything else. Thanks for your prayers.

And then another a little while ago:

New update, they have moved Cayla to the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit). They tried to do a spinal tap three times to determine the infection to no avail. Her pulse went way to high and blood oxygen levels went dangerously low in their attempts that they had to stop. Her condition is serious enough that they felt she would be better monitered in the PICU than in the step down. I am glad for the move as this takes pressure off of Linda to determine if a nurse is needed in any given situation. Thanks for your thoughtsand prayers.

Prayers are going heavenward from Indiana for little Cayla.  May God Bless Her and her loved ones.

Busy day so far but Ivalou and I are going to her son's for a barbeque at 4:30pm.  I have made some cookies to take.

It will seem weird not to have mail today but other than that...same as any other day for me!

I remember in 2003, I think, when Ivalou and I went to SrNet in Calgary that when we got into Canada, we saw these flecks floating on the air...ashes from forest fires west of us!!  We had plans to leave the Bash when it was over and go west into Glacier National Park and down to Yellowstone but that's where the fires were.  But we didn't want to be a hindrance or caught in the middle so we came home.  But Lake Louise was still beautiful even with all the smoke overcast!

Pat

Etta Sue, I so well remember 2003 in Calgary!!!  I was so looking forward to my photos of mountains that I'd never gotten before and all were shrouded in smoke and haze from the fires and we had the little flecks on our clothes.

But what a great time we all had, didn't we?  I was so happy to meet you and your sister! <3

Thanks for the prayers on behalf of wee Cayla.

Good morning. Just passing through today, to read the posts and to pray for those who need prayer.
It is cloudy here today maybe the sun will come out later. So far I have lost 10 lbs. Woo hoo.

Pat what was the name of the restaurant in Florence where we have lunch.? we are planning on stopping at BJ's for an ice cream on the way up the coast on the 7th. we will be in Newport until the 10th then we will go east to Sunriver until the 17th.

Just got this from Marla, our daughter-in-law:

Well...I lost Linda while we were talking.

But...Cayla's getting an echocardiogram right now. The blood pressure cuff and the cold jelly from the echocardiogram made Cayla scream and wail. So, Linda doesn't know why the poking in her arm did not cause a peep from her.
The bacteria test takes 48 hours, so waiting on that. She's on antibiotics.
They will come back to do the spinal tap with a sonogram today -- so they can see what they are doing. The curvature of her spine is causing the problem.
Linda got closer to comfort her crying, and that's when I lost her.
They want to take her cast off today (a day early) to see if she has circulation there. Her extremities are cold and they cannot get her warmed up.

Keep praying. God works all things together for good for those who love Him... He is merciful.

Poor little Cayla Joy!   :'(  So young and so tiny to go through all these tests.  It's difficult enough for adults who understand what's being done and why by she must feel everyone just wants to torture her.  Pat, I am praying for her and all the family.  May our Heavenly Father give wisdom and insight to the doctors and nurses who are caring for her, and may He provide His own strength, peace and comfort to all.

Each time I awakened, the first thing I did was pray for our sweet little one, her family, and medical personnel.

On this Memorial Day, I remember several of my cousins who gave their lives or were seriously wounded in wars. May they rest in peace, and may their sacrifices be remembered by each of us.

Janet

Hey, evedrybody!  I'm still on the green side of the grass here!

It has been a very busy time, but the reunion was, I feel, very successful, and we all had fun visiting and eating, making stepping stones, painting tee shirts and other activities.  SO much work, but worth it to reconnect with family.  I was especially happy that my youngest daughter came, as she hasn't come for over 5 years.  She seemed to enjoy herself, and spent lots of time visiting with two of her cousins.

Now the last guest has departed, we have taken Beth back to the Home, the garage is swept, the food put away or sent home with others, and this ol' gal is ready to REST.  They called and asked me to work tomorow at the Home, I said NO.  I said, "I'm retired, remember?"  and they told me my boss said I had changed my mind!  Hmmm........

I have read all the posts, am praying for little Cayla, and the other requests.  And, of course, I shall return.

Janet, it certainly sounds as though your family reunion was a resounding success, and you absolutely need rest.   :thumbsup:

Congratulations on saying "NO" to working.  Do you suppose your boss is indulging in a little "wishful thinking"?   :o

Father, I pray relative to the fires.  I pray You'll give the firefighters strenth and grace in what they do, and, oh Father, I just pray You'll direct the winds, etc. in such a way that it will help them get them under control.  And I pray for Cayla, as others have, that You'll give the doctors and other medical personnel grace and wisdom to be successful in helping her.  Oh Father, comfort all those concerned through Jesus Charist our Lord.

Betty

Am praying for Cayla too. What a hard time for everyone.

The state of emergency has been lifted for Timmins. People are returning to their homess

Last I heard things do not look good for our wee baby. Her extremities are cold. I don't know what that means

Pat and Paul will be heading to Ohio in tHe next couple of days.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We are awaiting the arrival of some rain from the storm that has hit Florida and is going up the coast.  So far no rain here in our area.  This is the day that Pat finally goes to see the knee doctor about having the knee replacement done.  She has fought it long and hard but finally has given in the to fact that her quality of life is being impacted.  The doctor's office is in the building right next door to Stacey's apartment so we will be seeing her today and I expect having lunch with her.  This will be plenty of activity for the day.

Pat, thanks for the updates on the grand child.  Sure hope they can determine the problem and address it.  I am also praying for the little child.

Marilyn, congrats on the weight loss.

Janet, sounds like the home doesn't want to let you retire.  Good for you sticking to your guns.  Wonderful that your youngest daughter came to the reunion and that the reunion was such a success.

Janet

'Thou annointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over...'  As I walked this morning and meditated on the whole 23rd Psalm, my heart overflowed with praise and gratitude to God.  The enemy was making little jabs all weekend, trying to stir up strife among family members; but every opportunity was passed!!  Praise God!!  We stayed in love and harmony; the name of the Lord was lifted up and glorified, our church service was annointed; and Beth was prayed for by aunts, uncles, cousins as well as us.  How good God is, and how I praise Him! And everybody made it safely back to their homes.

So, in spite of the awful wind we had all day Saturday, less on Sunday, the reunion was a resounding success!  It made it worth all the weeks of hard work and preparation.  And some of the guys even swept up the dirt that had blown into the garage before they left yesterday!!  I'm one happy gal today, even though a little bit tired.

God bless each of you dear friends.

Janet, I put your address in Google Earth.  It didn't come close to a house.  But north of it showed what maybe is a two story with two huge outbuildings to the west and southwest of the two story.  And to the north maybe a mobile home with a gabled roof on it.  Could that be your place?  Remember everything is from the sky!

Well, my trip to Nashville is getting closer and closer.  Today I want to pack some.  Then be at the Women's Center by 3:30pm for my mammogram.  I have a Chemo Wrap for the hospital so I want to take it since the entrance to the hospital is just around the corner.  Then the rehab pool is next to the hospital so I want to spend an hour in the water.

After that, I will be starved so will find something to eat.

Then to Lapel to the bank for some $$ and to the gas station to fill up Hawaii.  Then maybe to Dollar General for a few items.

That should make it real easy to get to Judy's by 1pm Wednesday and head to Nashville, IN.

Then Friday morning I want to leave Nashville fairly early, take Judy home, come home and feed the girls and load Ivalou's things in Hawaii.  I will take her to Kettering, Ohio...a suburb of Dayton.  Friday night is a Dance Recital that Lydia is in.

Saturday morning I am coming back home but Ivalou is staying until June 10th!  She has two grandchildren graduating from Cincinnati University June 8 or 9th.  I need to mow the grass if it isn't raining.

Sunday, June 10th I am manning the projector system at church and it is Parker's Open House in the afternoon.  He graduates from high school the 8th.  I think Ivalou's two daughter's are coming from Ohio for the Open House also!

Busy week.  So if for some reason, I don't get to post on CP, you all know why!

Etta Sue, I can't be sure without seeing the pictures, but it probably is our place.  Remember, we live in a farm shed!  So it would look like an outbuilding.  The big house is ours, and is rented out.  Did you see a geodesic dome building--that would be to the south of the big house and to the east of the building we actually are occupying.  Your week sounds busy, but also fun!  Stay safe!

I need to do some things relative to my book, so will get busy on that.  I have had a pretty leisurely morning for a change--feels good, too!  ;)

The Lord's My Shepherd, I'll Not Want
(Click to hear music)

Psalm 23

The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want;
He makes me down to lie
In pastures green; he leadeth me
The quiet waters by.

My soul he doth restore again,
And me to walk doth make
Within the paths of righteousness,
E'en for his own name's sake.

Yea, though I walk in death's dark vale,
Yet will I fear no ill:
For thou art with me, and thy rod
And staff me comfort still.

My table thou hast furnished
In prsence of my foes;
My head thou dost with oil anoint
And my cup overflows.

Goodness and mercy all my life
Shall surely follow me;
And in God's house for evermore
My dwelling-place shall be.

Ruth Ann Bice

I, too, have studied the 23rd Psalm. When I think of David being pursued relentlessly by Saul and his men, with many near misses, I can only think that when David was looking down from a desolate cave formed into one of the mountains in that very dry land, he surely was thankful to see that stream flowing far below in the valley where he and his men could drink and be refreshed. What a time of refreshing and rest it must have been!

Today has been devoted with working on my iPhone and brand new iPad that daughter and son in law gave me Sunday. :) What a long process, but in the end, very successful.

Now, to enjoy getting accustomed to my new "toy."

And, explain why, when I thought I could go to the devotions downstairs this morning, that I was missing. I never dreamed there would be SO many steps and such long waits...Ahhh, I guess hope springs eternal, doesn't it!

Now, to rest a bit, work on loving my apartment (the kitchen is in good shape, now to give the living room some loving care. ;)

May y'all have a wonderful day with our Lord.

Hi Folks

I think I have driven Pat and Paul crazy with wanting news about Cayla.  Paul made a call and I got the news just a little bit ago.

The nurse went into Cayla this morning and immediately got a vein to start an IV to rehydrate her.  Her extremities are now warm.  The cast is off, and the difficult job of preforming a spinal tap was going on as Paul was talking to them.  The antibiotics seem to be doing their job, but till they know what the infection is.....they can't be sure they have her on the correct antibiotic.  The heart Doctor was in and all the trauma has not dome any damage to her heart.  Praise God today no news is indeed good news.

I think I have that all correct.  Pat will add more as she is able.  They have left to go to VA, they have company coming, then back home early next week.

Janet

Thanks for the song, Judy, although I can't play the music.  Not computer savvy enough to know what to change so I can listen again.  So, the ones I know, I 'play' in my head!

I have mostly rested today, felt good, too!  ;)  Maybe tomorrow I will get some things accomplished.

Listening to the nightly news these days is eerily similar to reading Ezekiel and Revelation!

You are right about that Janet.  I keep thinking "as in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah".  It is more and more like that.  There was a second earthquake in Northern Italy.  I am wondering how many prophecies are left to be fulfilled?

I have one of my spaniels shaved down and I have shaved Cimi's head.  Cim hates the sheers, yet her daughter loves it.  Tomorrow our young lad, and the rest of Cim.  I think though for the rest of tonight I will throw the Frisbee around for Rambo.  He enjoys that.  Just wish i could video him!

The Lord brought me safely and comfortably through some horrendous weather today.  Thunderstorms with hail the size of golf balls - but not here.  Trees down and power outages - but not here.  Tornado watches - but they didn't develop here.  We had lightning and thunder and wind for hours, but there was a wonderful protecting hedge around me.  Praise His Holy Name!

I truly believe that we who are His children will see and experience this more and more as the final day approaches, Jeanne.  There will be want, but we will have plenty; there will be all kinds of storms and shakings, but we will be protected; there will be pestilences, but they will not come nigh our dwellings.  PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!

Yes, hallelujahl!  I hear that word often when at church, etc., but so seldom is it understood.  Most Christians think that wlhen you say it you're actually praising - but you're not.  The Hebrew word is really three words.  "Halle" = praise, "u" = us, and "jah" = Jehovah (the Lord God).  So the word isn't praising, but instead is an exhortation to praise - literally "Let us praise Jehovah!"  I'm glad to see that it was used correctly in here today.
(Don't mind me - it's just one of my pet peeves!

Jeanne Lee

Al, thank you for that explanation/translation.  Now that I know, I'll try to always remember just how to use it.   :thumbsup:

I just got the nozzle in the car and decided to put my credit card in my purse.  I stepped over the hose and caught my right toe and down I went.  THUD!  All the way down.  I first noticed my left thumb was bleeding, (I think I cut it with a key from my keys) my left little finger and middle finger were bleeding.  My right arm and right knee were stinging!  A gentleman came and helped me up.  He got me a Kleenex for the bleeding.  My arm and knee are skinned but okay since the goose egg has gone down.  My two fingers are fine.  It's my thumb that is still very ouchy.  I have a cut the length of my nail right beside my nail.  I can bend it so it isn't broken but swollen a little bit.  I just don't want to use it to grab anything.  Ouch!  But I am so glad that I didn't hurt myself worse.  I did know when I turned over in the bed and used my right arm, though.  I will be fine!!

I am all packed except for the laptop and ready to do.  Ivalou is going to feed the girls and get my mail.  I will get her mail next week while she is gone!

I told Judy I would leave around 1pm.  I will be ready to head out the door then!

God is good!

Praying for little Cayla...

Jehovah Tsidkenu
(Click to hear music)

by Robert Murray M'Cheyne

"THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS"
(The watchword of the Reformers.)

I once was a stranger to grace and to God,
I knew not my danger, and felt not my load;
Though friends spoke in rapture of Christ on the tree,
Jehovah Tsidkenu was nothing to me.

I oft read with pleasure, to sooth or engage,
Isaiah's wild measure and John's simple page;
But e'en when they pictured the blood-sprinkled tree
Jehovah Tsidkenu seem'd nothing to me.

Like tears from the daughters of Zion that roll,
I wept when the waters went over His soul;
Yet thought not that my sins had nail'd to the tree
Jehovah Tsidkenu - 'twas nothing to me.

When free grace awoke me, by light from on high,
Then legal fears shook me, I trembled to die;
No refuge, no safety in self could I see, -
Jehovah Tsidkenu my Saviour must be.

My terrors all vanished before the sweet name;
My guilty fears banished, with boldness I came
To drink at the fountain, life-giving and free, -
Jehovah Tsidkenu is all things to me.

Jehovah Tsidkenu! my treasure and boast,
Jehovah Tsidkenu! I ne'er can be lost;
In thee I shall conquer by flood and by field,
My cable, my anchor, my breast-plate and shield!

Even treading the valley, the shadow of death,
This "watchword" shall rally my faltering breath;
For while from life's fever my God sets me free,
Jehovah Tsidkenu, my death song shall be.

Hi everyone. I  read all but the last three postings while resting and working from the iPad so will be relatively brief.  We had a good trip to Atlanta yesterday. Pat will have knee replacement on either July 16th or 25th. We visited with Stacey a little while and she is looking better.  I went to Bible study this morning but didn't stay for coffee as Pat did not go.  Nothing else to do today other than computer work and have the annual Termite inspection later this afternoon.

Etta Sue, hope you are feeling OK today after your fall and are able to enjoy your conference.

Pat and Paul, glad to see the good news regarding your grandchild.

Did anybody see the awful mistake our president made in a speech?  He referred to the "Polish death camps."  Many Poles were outraged, since they were most assuredly NOT "Polish death camps."  They were Nazzi death camps in Poland.  May our God help him to speak less confusingly!

Janet

Al, it would help if the "O" weren't so ignorant of OUR country's history, and the history of the rest of the world.  All he knows how to do is read from a teleprompter, and his staff really dropped the ball as far as fact-checking, this time. :idiot:

Hi, friends, I've been resting (ummm, translate that as "sleeping") ;) this afternoon. So feel a bit groggy now.

Am headed off to church, so y'all have a good rest of the day.

Love to y'all, and MORE love to our Lord!

Hi everyone.  The sun is about to rise and so far it looks like it will be clear for awhile.  We do have the good potential for some rain later today and warmer temperatures.  Nothing on the schedule for today other than coffee at McDonald's in a little bit and then a quick trip to the grocery store for some items.  Then I expect to be at home the rest of the day.

Janet

Good morning, friends!  I have been up since 6, listened to Joseph Prince, Kerry Shook and Joyce Meyer, prayed, walked three miles, did the dishes, and now I'm headed to the shower.  Later I will go put color on Pat's hair, go pay the dentist for filling Beth's latest cavity, and see what else I might do to promote the book.  I will go to Hugoton to Diane's store (Yardmaster Lawn and Landscape) for a book signing, after I go to the chiropractor and then attend the Chamber Coffee, to which I have been invited by Ulysses Rotary Club.

I am praying about ways to simplify my life, yet accomplish more for the Lord.  I know it is possible, and am also being convicted that a big chunk of my time is wasted on the computer every day.  So again, it comes to priorities...... :thinking:

So I'm out of here for a time, see you later!

Good morning from Nashville, Indiana.

This is the first second day we have had in Nashville and the sun is shining in three years.  The guys have already left for their golf outing.

I am sore.  The thumb is much better but the heavy doors are hard to open.. both my arm muscles are sooo sore.  I didn't sleep well last night, I was coughing and sore.  I think I will ask in the lobby where I can get some cough drops!

I am taking a breather.  A great breakfast downstairs and great visiting.  Not much planned for the day...just rest and relaxation!

Hi, friends,

What a great day for us to be with our Lord!

I'll be taking the elderly lady back to a doctor she saw last week-and also try to help her understand better what he and the nurse are saying. She is very hard of hearing.

Then, possibly will do some of the vounteer work I do for SHIP this afternoon from my home computer.

Bad storms are predicted, so I thought I should come here early.

How thankful I am that y'all are my online Christian friends.

And, as Etta Sue's graphic said, walk with God today. :)

All Things Bright and Beautiful
(Click to hear music)

God saw all that He had made,
and it was very good.
Genesis 1:31

Words: Cecil F. Alexander 1818-1895

Music: "Royal Oak" 17th Century English melody; arranged by Martin F. Shaw, 1915

Refrain
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

Refrain

The rich man in his castle,
The poor man at his gate,
He made them, high or lowly,
And ordered their estate.

Refrain

The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

Refrain

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

Refrain

The tall trees in the greenwood,
The meadows where we play,
The rushes by the water,
To gather every day.

Refrain

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Hello everyone how are you all?  As of today I am doing okay.  My memory is not as clear or as long as it used to be not sure why.  My swelling has improved considerably. Its all the LORD. That you for all of your prayers.

Hello, Marlo!!

Well, I leave Nashville this morning.  Good conversations.  Good fun.  Good food.

I will take Judy home and then go home.  Not sure if I am going to leave the laptop at home or take it on to Ohio.  I won't have time to use it there so I might as well take it home and leave it.

It is cloudy and maybe rainy.  At least, I had a great night's rest!

Janet

Marlo, so good to see your post and read that you are seeing some improvement---prayers continue!

Etta Sue, glad you had a good time, and pray the same for you in Ohio!

I will be going to Yardmaster in Hugoton today for another book signing--prayers appreciated!

And..... :(   :'(  ....bad news for Beth yesterday.  The dentist found a brand new Neurofibroma inside her mouth, just inside the tooth he was filling.  That was NOT there earlier this month when he examined her, so it popped up and grew alarmingly fast!  It is already the size of a green pea, and if it continues such rapid growth, we will need to take her to an oral surgeon and have it removed.  It has the potential to cause several serious problems with eating, talking and swallowing.....and now we are wondering if those are also growing in her throat, since she is having a lot of problems talking and swallowing.  BUT----GOD!!  We know God is the answer; we know Beth IS healed by the stripes Jesus bore on His own body on the cross.

I will be back later, I have an early chiropractic appointment, then will be heading out for Hugoton!

Janet, I no longer know "how" to pray for Beth  :'( - So I simply say her name and let the Holy Spirit lead me.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We have a much cooler and overcast day today with about a 60% chance of rain.  Yesterday evening we had just a minor shower.  Nothing special on the schedule today for which I am thankful as am feeling tired (may be due to the weather) so will take it easy today and stay home.

Janet, it sounds like you had quite a schedule yesterday.  Hope you sold a lot of books and the Rotary Club appearance was beneficial.  It is easy to spend a lot of time on the computer but for me it has been a gift from God as there are a lot of physical things that I can no longer do without exhaustion.  Janet, that sure wasn't news you wanted to hear from the dentist regarding Beth.  Her problems make ours seem so insignificant.

Etta Sue, glad you are feeling better and enjoying your time in Nashville.  Hope your cough is better today and you were able to get some decent sleep last night.

Ruth Ann, hope the bad storms stayed away yesterday.  It sounds like the elderly lady would be a bit of a challenge to deal with but am sure she appreciates your assistance.

Marlo, glad to read that you are doing OK.

Marilyn and Jeanne, as always good to see you posting.

Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies
(Click to hear music)

"Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs." Psalm 100:1-2

Words: Anonymous

Music: "Italian Hymn (Trinity)," Johann Gottlob Werner 1815 harmony by William H. Havergal, 1861

Christ, Whose glory fills the skies,
Christ, the true, the only Light,
Sun of Righteousness, arise,
Triumph o'er the shades of night;
Dayspring from on high be near;
Day-star, in my heart appear.

Dark and cheerless is the morn
Unaccompanied by Thee;
Joyless is the day's return
Till Thy mercy's beams I see;
Till they inward light impart,
Glad my eyes, and warm my heart.

Visit then this soul of mine,
Pierce the gloom of sin and grief;
Fill me, Radiancy divine,
Scatter all my unbelief;
More and more Thyself display,
Shining to the perfect day.

Hi, friends, well the news is better health wise for me with a small weight loss this month, and all other items of discussion were thoroughly checked out and the "verdict" is (I'm assuming) that the doctor thinks I'll live at least another 3 months! ;) At least, that is when he said to return. <chuckle>

It's great to hear from each of you, and also to see Marlo coming here as well.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, May his face shine upon you and give you peace...that's my prayer for each of us today.

Janet it is the same as Jeanne for me when I pray for Beth. God  hears our prayers even when we don't know the words to say, the Holy Spirit prays for us. I pray in the spirit while I am driving many times, and even more when I am sitting at my computer reading about those who need prayer. Just thinking about Beth bring on the Holy Spirit to pray for her.

Janet

Thank you, Jeanne and Marilyn and Larry, for praying for Beth.  Prayer is our greatest--and, in Beth's case--our ONLY weapon, but we serve an almighty, creative, loving, healing, awesome God, who loves Beth beyond our comprehension.  God will make a way.....

I'm back from the "book signing".  I used the quotes because I didn't sign nor sell one book today.  But that, too, is in His hands.  The fellow from the radio station was very gracious, however, and did a nice on-air interview with me, so I believe the time was not wasted.

I will be leaving on Sunday for my once a year painting class over in Fowler, so won't be around from Sunday afternoon through Friday.  Try to miss me, will you?   ;)

Prayer here for Beth as well.

John home early tonight, so I am off..

Al Moak

He Who moves us to pray is the same One Who answers our prayers, and He is gracious and loving.  It isn't our prayers that accomplish anything, but it's our God - Who loves to hear us pray!  What a wonderful Father we have!  Oh Father, in Your love and grace, deal lovingly and graciously with Beth today, and let her mouth snd throat be freed from affliction through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  We had a brief, but heavy rain, yesterday afternoon.  Today is starting off nice and sunny with no rain in the forecast.  I am not feeling tired today which is a change from yesterday.  I rested a long while in the afternoon and went back to bed around 8 pm as it was just more comfortable than sitting up.  Just back from coffee and the only other thing I may do today is attend a meeting this morning and then work on a computer project and a new project on my iPad to set up library shelves for my ebooks.

Ruth Ann, always good to see the doctor and come away with no new meds or being told of a new problem.

Marilyn and Jeanne, I also feel that just bringing someone to mind while thinking of God is to pray a silent prayer for them.

Janet, glad to see you will be attending your painting class and being able to get away from some of the turmoil of daily liviing.

Al, well said regarding God and prayer.

Father, I Stretch My Hands to Thee
(Click to hear music)

I have stretched out my hands unto Thee.
Psalm 88:9

Words: Charles Wesley, Psalms and Hymns, 1741
Music: Naomi, Hans G. N䧥li; arranged by Lowell Mason, 1836

Father, I stretch my hands to Thee,
No other help I know;
If Thou withdraw Thyself from me,
Ah! whither shall I go?

What did Thine only Son endure,
Before I drew my breath!
What pain, what labor, to secure
My soul from endless death!

Surely Thou canst not let me die;
O speak, and I shall live;
And here I will unwearied lie,
Till Thou Thy Spirit give.

Author of faith! to Thee I lift
My weary, longing eyes:
O let me now receive that gift!
My soul without it dies.

I enjoyed that music, Judy, and don't believe I've heard it before. What wonderful words Wesley wrote.

Today's I plan to rest first, then go to a meeting about 1 1/2 hours away. It will be great to see old friends and hear the wonderful words of life again. :)

May our Lord bless each of us as only He knows how to meet each of our needs.

Love to all,

I am home.  The car is filled up again with gas.  I got some milk at the Dollar General.  Home and changed clothes.  Yard is mowed.  Suitcase is unpacked.  Bed is changed.  Mail is checked out.  Bank statement balances with my checkbook AFTER I corrected a $3 mistake in the checkbook register!  I am caught up with my Bible reading and devotions.  Third load of laundry about ready to go in the dryer.  And when that happens, I am ready for my Saturday night head washing and shower!!

It is cold!  I was okay mowing but a chilly when a cloud would go between the sun and I.  The house is cool and when I am paying the bill, I will turn on the heat when I am cold.  So I changed the AC/heat pump to Auto....and sure enough, heat is coming out with the temp set at 71 degrees!  It even looks cool outside!

Well, the washer just stopped.  Off and running again to my next chore!  Shower, here I come!

Great day today!!  Hope you all enjoyed the day the Lord has given us!!!

Of all times when I was busy, Tony called and wanted to know if I wanted to go to 'On the Border' with him.  Charlene is in Michigan babysitting grandchildren.  So I hurried around, folded sheets, took shower and washed hair, got dressed, dried hair and was at his house within the hour.  Great time with him other than we both have colds and my throat got worse from almost yelling for him to hear me.  'On the Border' was noisy last night!  I came home when we got back to his house.  Love that boy!  (man)

I am ready for church.  It is cool out...only 56 degrees but it looks to be a promising day of sunshine!  There is a slight breeze but not bad at all.

I run the projector system today and the next two weeks.

Tomorrow I have a doctor appointment...my yearly so I probably won't be online until I return.  And I have to go to the Post Office at Noblesville to pick up a certified letter.  Hope it is worth it!  Can't think why I would be getting a certified letter!

Hi everyone.  We had a most delightful day yesterday as it was clear and in the 70s without high humidity.  Pat and I went out to eat dinner yesterday evening and it was so pleasant.  Many folks were dining out on the patio of the place but not us and when we left we were glad we had stayed inside as there was live music, although not overly loud as it most often is.  We will attend church today and probably go out to eat with our friends or alone, depending where the group decides to go as there is one place we don't care for at all and they like and often go there so we just find a place on our own.  The rest of the day will be for rest and relaxing.

Ruth Ann, that is a long way to go to attend a meeting.  Hope you enjoyed it.

Etta Sue, it sounds like you were a whirlwind when you got home and sure got a lot done. I bet you were ready for a good nights sleep last night.  I see that you added to your schedule after you posted with your outing with Tony.  Some places are so loud that it is almost impossible to talk.

Judy, Janet and to your all I hope this is a wonderful blessed day for each of you.  I prasie the God for allowing me another day.

Janet

Amen, Larry!  Each day we get to live is another gift from the gracious hand of God!  Blessings to you, and to each one who comes in today.

This morning I watched one of my church services, I do feel that I would like to attend a local church but I feel that the Lord is directing me not to go. The messages are great and it is what comes out of the pastors mouth that matters but the congregation is the hindrance.

Lots of stress and I am not sure that I am dealing with it in the correct way,  Please pray that the Lord will give me strength and direction, old wounds open which is difficult to move away from Satan sure loves to run interference.

We have had several days of needed rain and today it is a mix of rain and sun.

God bless to everyone.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:6
