I Must Learn to Love My Enemies.

Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, pray for them that despitefully use you, and persecute you: That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44

Who is my enemy.  Is it the stranger down the street, or that family member who rejects what we have to say or reject who we are?

The Bible doesn't differentiate between the two.  Anyone we have hard feeling toward, is our enemy.  Anyone who says something to frustrate, anger, or cause us to want to retaliate against is our enemy.

Not all people are lovable, but some people find us difficult to love.  This could be because we remind them of something in them that they don't like, just as there may be something in them that reminds us of what we don't like in ourselves.

We are instructed to love our enemies.  We must let go of anger, hate bitterness and the refusal to forgive.  These are things that destroy the spirit.  We will have to give an account of ourselves to God.  It is how we treat others that God requires us to give an accounting of, not what the other have done to us.  Let us make a habit of forgiveness.

Forgive me, Father for finding it difficult to love those who curse me.  Bless me to look beyond their ill will for me, and have wisdom to see the underlying pain they carry that spark their hatred.  And bless me to pray for them and forgive them.

I follow the example of Christ by loving and forgiving even those who hurt me.

JudyB

In conversations with a friend I have found that one of the hardest things to deal with is forgiving family.  I have had to forgive, and keep on forgiving.  It has been an ongoing active verb in my life.

Today is cold.  After having the heat wave of last week with temperatures of 90* plus it is hard to acclimatize to the 53* of today.  I am wondering if this is the start of winter?  I have come to dislike that word.  Wish I could be a snowbird and live 6 months of the year in Florida or California!

John leaves for MN tomorrow and will be gone the week.  His dispatcher is gone so he is out on a longer trip.

Have a great day everyone!

The Lord's Prayer
(Click to hear music)

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our debts
as we forgive our debtors,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power and the glory
Forever.
Amen.

It has decided not to be fall here just yet, after all, I guess.  Our car thermometer read 104* on the way home from Hugoton.

Larry, sorry to hear about your friend.  We never have so many friends that we can afford to lose even one.  May God comfort you, and his family.

I called my sister Shirley this morning, and her eldest son passed away Saturday night about 10:30.  She had gone up to Topeka and stayed for hours, but came home before the end.  She said she just couldn't stand it any more; his three daughters and his brother's wife were all there, surrounding the bed and Shirley said it just seemed like a flock of vultures.  They were talking about what few possessions he had, who would get what, etc.  And they were treating Shirley, his mother, as if she weren't even part of his family.  So sad the way families get messed up.  Clayton was only 54, had contracted hepititis while in the service and had been very ill these past three years or so.

We drove to Hugoton for church today, and it was like coming home!  How I loved the Spirit-filled atmosphere and the annointed preaching.  I hope Darrel will agree for us to start attending there.  Next Sunday is our pastor's last Sunday here.

It is sad when a friend passes away.  Janet was Shirley's son born again?  Larry I am sorry about your friend, will be praying for both families as they go through the grieving process.

We had a gentleman come door knocking yesterday, asking for our vote as Mayor.  He was Melaura's Principal up too about grade 2 I think.  He will be a good man for the job and on top of his qualifications he goes to Corner Gospel.  He has our vote.

I am tired tonight, so am going to bed early.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone.  It sure is darker longer in the mornings now and it gets darker earlier in the evenings.  I really enjoyed getting up after the sun was up but it will be several months before that happens again.

We did attend church yesteday but I was experiencing shortness of breath so we didn't go out to lunch but came on home.  I spent most of the rest of the day in bed as was tired and found it easier to get my breath lying down.  Sure hope that has passed for today.

I will attend my friend's funeral at 11 am this morning and then, if I feel up to it, will go to my men's luncheon.  I haven't felt much like eating the last few days so not really looking forward to the buffet today but sure I will manage to eat.  They do have good ice cream and that always goes down well.  Then I will just enjoy the rest of the day.

I think our next door neighbor's, who have the little boy with the motorcycle, moved over the weekend.  They had a garage sale and I saw them packing their van full of things.  They also have one of those big dumpsters that it totally full of things they have thrown away.  They were good neighbors but the motorcycle and sometimes loud music did tend to wear one down.

Janet, so sorry to hear of the death of your nephew.  Fifty-four is way too young to die.  When I was battling hepititis C I followed a support group on the internet and know who truly ill many people are who can't conquer it.  I was indeed blessed to have it stopped in its tracks.

Judy, thanks for the devotional though for the week and the Lord's Prayer that you posted.  Hope that John has a good week on the road and you and Kassie have a good week at home.

Time to go to coffee.

It looks as though fall has decided to settle in around here.  We're expecting one day this week to be in the low 80's and then back to upper 60's and low 70's.  And 15 to 20 mile an hour winds, which make it feel even cooler colder!  But it's beautiful and sunny, and it's what the Lord has provided, so I'll try to stop griping!   :D

Happy Labor Day, whatever that means to you.

Yes, Judy, Clayton had received Jesus as his savior when quite young.  However, he had walked away from the Lord, and lived a life not pleasing to Him.  I have no way of knowing if he renewed his committment to the Lord in his last days, but pray he did.  When Shirley and her daughter went to pray over him last Friday, Shirley said she was reassured about where Clayton was with the Lord.  She raised all her kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and we have the promise that if we do that, when they are old they will not depart from it.  We just have to trust God with Clayton's eternity.

The weather is warming up again here today.  For about two weeks it felt like Fall was in the air, but not yesterday nor today.  It will cool off again soon.

Jeanne, any word yet on your car?  Praying for you, and continuing to thank God for raising you up and restoring you to health!  <3

Not sure what I will do today, but something!

Thanks, Judy, for the Lord's Prayer.  Of course it is actually the disciple's prayer.  It's ending is very, very important, inasmuch as it should really be the ending to all our prayers and all our thoughts.  We should do all that we do because it is His Kingdom, it is done by His power, and it should be to His glory forever.  Our prayers should be for the same reasons.

It's a great Labor Day.  Ivalou and I had breakfast at Marge's this morning.  She had tables set up in the garage with all kinds of breakfast food and desserts.  We had a wonderful breakfast.  There were probably 40 people there, at least.

Then I brought Ivalou home and went to Kitty's to check on her cats.  Kitty and Bob finally decided to go to Myrtle Beach!  I then put some letters in the Lapel Post Office and went to the convenient store for some Reese's Hot Chocolate!!  Yumm!  And I got a car wash.

Now Ivalou just called me to say I have been invited to go to her son's house this evening for a cookout!  And since my birthday is coming up to invite me!  So I will be heading there around 4:15pm.

I was hoping to check out the photos that Kitty and I took at Eagle Creek Park but that may have to be tomorrow now!

Larry, I forgot to tell you that I did hook up the Droid with the 16gb mini-card to the laptop with the USB cord.  I now have all the info from the 2gb to the 16gb that is now in the Droid.  I am a happy camper!

Tony sent me a picture from his cycle trip to Ohio near the Ohio River.  Since it was Droid to Droid, I could click on something and it showed a map right where Tony was when he took the photo!  Neat!

What's the best way to get rid of mold?

My daughter, who lives in North Carolina, spent the better part of a month here in the north country and when she returned home yesterday found mildew and mold on just about everything.  It's on all sorts of surfaces and materials - wood, metal, fabric...  some antiques and some modern items.  Floors, tables, upholstered furniture...  you name it, it has mold or mildew.

Suggestions so far have been ammonia, bleach and vinegar.  Any comments?
Click for Corinth, New York Forecast" border="0" height="41" width="127

JudyB

Jeanne I think she should check with a professional.  They will let her know the best solution.  I would suggest bleach, but I haven't had that kind of problem.  There is a bathroom spray specifically for mold and mildew.  Perhaps that would be the answer.

Well Kassie is feeling better.  Fever is down and she is starting to feel like going to school  again.

I have enjoyed having her home this summer but having time to myself will be nice as well.

I am back from my trip to California and had a great time visiting with family and friends. However My hand  and arm are in sup awful pain that Willa's daughter put a pain patch on me before I left it didn't help. I went to my home church on Sunday and oh my was a wonderful service it was. The  music was so anointed right along with Pastor's sermon. One of the ladies laid hand on me while Pastor held on to my left hand, both prayed for me. By the time church was over my mascara was completely gone. I am glad to be back home and pray that my hand will be operated on ASAP as I am so tired of this rotten pain.

Hi everyone.  Happy to say I am feeling better today and felt like eating my lunch.  For the last couple of days or so I just didn't feel like eating.  Not nearly as short of breath and that is helpful.

After coffee I had to attend to some banking matters including put a stop payment on a check that has been lost.  Unfortunately there is a $30 fee associated with the action but the check was for much more and couldn't take the risk.

I am staying home today for the rest of it anyway.

Etta Sue, glad you got your Droid fixed as you wanted it.  I thought you would be able to do it with the cable.  Happy Birthday and I hope it is a special day for you.

Glad you are safely home Marilyn.  Sorry you are experiencing so much pain with your hand.

Jeanne, sure don't envy your daughter having to deal with mold.

Thanks to Kitty for us celebrating my birthday August 31 (they are in Myrtle Beach right now) and her posting a picture of me eating dessert on Facebook, I have had so many Happy Birthdays!!  I am loving it!  But my birthday is tomorrow, the 8th!  I don't know what tomorrow will bring.  I want to take Ivalou and go to Zaharakoes in Columbus, IN, but we will see how she feels tomorrow.

Tonight is Beef and Boards to see 'Camelot'.  I am not into medieval so I hope I will be pleasantly surprised!

It is kind of overcast today.  It hasn't rained for over two weeks.  The grass isn't growing so I haven't mowed for two weeks.  We need rain.  Over the weekend it said rain Wednesday but now it is saying rain Friday....WeatherBug, the Weather Channel and News and Weather ...on the Droid!

What a surprise!  Marilyn just called me and we chatted for a bit.  Thanks for calling, Marilyn!!

Hello after being away for several days.  But it is wonderful to be home.

It was laundry today and then this afternoon a trip to the chiro.
I also made a batch of speg. sauce some of which will be given away.

Judy:  You have been talking about computer issues, is Heather not able to give some guidance as this is what happened to here.   When I started up a window came up which was new to me so I sent an e-mail to  our comp. man  followed by a phone call to Sue at work, the comp. man takes care of her work comp. as well, promptly she said do not click on any of the stuff that might be in the screen suggesting a virus (I wondered that as well) but then she said run Web Erase as she had been told to try that as well and it could get rid of some bugs as well.   It worked

Marilyn:  I hope that you get relief with your hands soon.
Janet:  Loaning a veh has also been something that I never did like doing. I have also upset folk by saying no but oh well. Repairs cost money.

Pat:  I was lucky to get a pair of shoes with the toes out, good for this time of year.

Larry, Al, Gord:  I think of you as well.

I am hungry so better fill my tummy.

Hi Everyone...

Thought I posted earlier but guess I didn't.  Judy's modem was hit today by a lightening flash so she's without internet.  :(

Computer problems!    :ticked:  So sorry, Judy.

They called today to say the van is repaired, so we will be finding out the cost soon.  It is back in the garage now.

Today we went to Liberal again, and went to the jewelry store to get a battery put in my watch.  It is a Seiko dive watch which Darrel gave me for Christmas in the early years of our marriage, so I have worn it for well over 20 years.  It's the best watch I have ever owned, keeps perfect time until the battery dies.  Anyway, Darrel decided I should have a new watch, so I now have a new, pretty watch, which is also waterproof to 300 feet.  That shoud be deep enough!  ;)  The fellow also put a new battery in old faithful, gave us 20% off the new watch and gave me a jar of jewelry cleaner.  Nice, huh?

I had a long conversation with my sister this morning.  She said she doesn't want us to come for Clayton's service, as the girls are doing stuff that will be frustrating.  She said if I want to send a card with a few $$ to help them with expenses, that will be better.  I am glad to do that, as we have the trip to Branson coming up next week, and I have another obligation on Saturday, the day of the service.  There will be a little memorial here later, when his remaining ashes are buried at his brother's grave.  Shirley has really been through the mill lately.

Pat, you have really been on my mind lately.  I know you want to see a field of sunflowers, and there are dozens of them around here, in full glory right now!

Larry, glad you are feeling better!

I told Ivalou on her birthday (July 22) that I would take her to Zaharakoes Ice Cream Restaurant in Columbus, IN, for her birthday.  So today we are going for her birthday on my birthday.  Killing two birds with one stone!

Earlier this morning I went to Tim Horton's for coffee. Seeing old friends gave an uplift for the day.

I have taken some of my tomatoes off the plants and now I will be chopping and stewing to put in jars for the winter, in past years I would remove the skins but I now have a really good chopper so skins get chopped and stewed as well, very little waste.

Hi everyone.  We have had a delightful day so far and anticipate a nice evening as well since it is choir practice.  I am feeling back to my old normal self and not having the shortness of breath.  Guess it will come and go (at least I hope it goes) from time to time.  It just seems to be happening more often and perhaps lasting a little longer.

This was Bible study with the pastor and we sent the entire hour discussing and thinking about the first miracle described in John where Jesus turned the water into wine.  There is a lot of meaning in that miracle.  We then went to the donut shop until noon and then to a buffet for a very nice lunch.  I won't be having dinner tonight.

Yesterday our daughter was able to get, after submitting paperwork for approval, a paratransit card for the bus and subway system in Atlanta.  It allows her to ride the buses and trains without cost.  They do have special small paratransit vehicles that can be scheduled to come and pick you up in your wheelchair at your door and take to to places but there is an almost $8 charge for that service.  Unfortunately they have had to cancel certain bus routes including the one that goes by the facility where her primary doctor is located who she sees about once a month.  She is hopeful another route may still go by that location.

Etta Sue, glad you enjoyed the Beef and Boards show last evening.  Our yards have also quit growing and for the first time all summer we are getting pretty dry as it has been several days since we had rain.  The birthday cards the folks here have made for you are very pretty.  Again, Happy Birthday.

Ruth, sure glad you were able to get around that computer virus.  I had never heard of that program you mention and will have to check it out.

Pat, lightning can do terrible things to a computer.  I recently spoke to someone in our area who had lost a television and some other things due to lightning.

Janet, it is so sad when children don't honor their parents rather than look only to their own concerns.  It must be very tough for your sister to endure.  Your new watch sounds great.  I always wear the "expensive" ones I find at Wal-Mart.  My last one cost me close to $10.  However, they keep very good time.

Pat

"Click for Waterloo Wellington, Ontario Forecast"

Janet

Larry, I also bought a Walmart watch, it had a matching bracelet, very pretty, and keeps good time.  I couldn't stand being without a watch!  However, the metal in the "expensive one" breaks my arm out and makes it itch!  I am allergic to most metals, even silver (probably the nickel in the silver) so that makes it hard to wear the cheap ones.  This band is gold and stainless steel, as is my old watch.  I think this is the first time in my life I own three watches at the same time!

Larry, glad your daughter will have transportation at no cost.  That is one advantage to living in big cities, public transportation is available.  In our small towns we would just be out of luck.

The (quitting) pastor sent out a voice mail call this evening cancelling services tonight.  I think he is afraid or ashamed to face the congregation.  We are learning more every day about what they have been doing; not at all good.  This must surely grieve the heart of God.  :'(

Happy Birthday to Etta Sue!

Judy:  Thank you for the prayer - I have a hard time regarding some very evil people in this world.

Janet:  Sad about your sister's son passing so soon in life.  Did you see me when I flew over your state last night???  I am bone tired after being away for over a month but laundry is started and now I really need a haircut and to buy produce at least today and I will find out what eggs really cost in the US today.

LARRY:  Glad that Stacey will have free transportation as everything helps so much.  Take care.

Very grateful that our trip was almost injury free (I pulled a leg muscle running for a train) and we came home really exhausted - was awake at 3:30 this morning & finally just got up at 4:30 to start on mail and oh too many things.

It has been freezing at night in some parts.  No snow yet that I have heard about.

Larry Hanna

Hi everyone,

I am having a nice quiet day today.  Did go to coffee and then we went to walk at the gym.  I haven't walked for several days and found my legs didn't want to cooperate and after a few rounds became short of breath.  However, sitting for a few minutes restored me and I was able to do a second round.  Walked about 1/2 mile.

My wife is attending a 16 week Bible study that is being taught by a friend of ours.  It is a Kay Arthur Precept ministry Bible study.  This is the second week.

Carol, hard to believe it is time for freezing weather.  However, I know your weather can change drastically from day to day.

Janet, I have had to go with a watch with a leather or cloth band.  My wrist is too small for an expansion band and don't feel it is wise to spend more for a band than I have for the watch.  It sounds like you all have a real mess with your church, so sad.

Etta Sue

At Beef and Boards Betty called her daughter to take her home.  While waiting to go sit down, she got hot.  The only thing she had was water.  She got sick in the restroom so called her daughter.

Well, I got hot yesterday morning but Ivalou and I went to Zaharakoe's anyway.  The closer I got there the sicker I felt.  They didn't have Sprite but I got an OrangeAde Fountain.  It tasted so good!  But it didn't stay down.  I got a Chef Salad and it is in my fridge.  We got home around 3 pm and I went straight to bed.  I was up and down but slept for 18 hours.  Sick a few times.  Today I feel pretty good.  Still queasy but much better.

Classmate Judy woke me up at 9 but I told her I wasn't going to the Class luncheon today.  Tony and Charlene are taking me out to eat tonight.  I am hoping I am much better by then!

But I want to thank all of you for the birthday greetings on here, Seniors and Friends and Facebook.  Wow!  I have never had so many people think of me on my birthday.  A great feeling!!  Thanks again!!

Just finished reading a month of posts in here -

Larry:  I read your note about Pat Howe - she has battled that dreadful cancer for years.  I have not heard anything about Joan Liimatta from northern Minnesota.  We met twice for coffee & breakfast.  Do you know anything?  I do hope that Stacey's foot isn't going to be the same problem - bless her.

I am trying to stay awake since being up about 4 AM.  It is very windy here and the fires near Boulder are not under control.  160 houses have burned and 4 people are missing.  News on t.v. just sounds like arguments.

Ohhh, Carol...   It's awful to find out about the passing of a friend this way.  Please read the lovely posts on Seniors and Friends that Marilyn has given you the link for.  (Thanks Marilyn)

And I'm not sure if you knew Jerry2 from New Zealand.  Well, he passed away suddenly last week as well.

Janet

oh, my!  So many going on to their rewards.  The man who ate at the table with Beth at the home died suddenly last night , too.

I have been playing around on Facebook a little.  Last night I learned that I have another great-granddaughter right here in Ulysses, and another on the way.  I would love to be a part of their lives, but am not allowed, not even so much as to get word of their arrival.  I did know there were two little girls.  Sigh...... :(

I am going to have my toenails trimmed, then to Pat's to get my hair done.  Tomorrow is my painting day, and Momday we leave for Branson.  Sunday is the preacher's last day here....will see what that brings.  Such a disappointment to have everything in such a mess and stirring up such discord.  Things like this just should not be!!  :-X

Carol, are you getting lots of smoke from the Boulder fires?  So sad.

Gotta run!  Back later!

Hi everyone.  Just back from coffee at the Senior Center.  We only had 6 men show up this morning, a very small number for our Friday group.  Then three of us went to walk at the gym.  I was able to get in 13 laps today, which is 5 more than yesterday.  I made a quick trip to the post office and now am in for the rest of the day as far as I know.  Pat will probably go out to lunch with some friends.  I finished reading the Robin Cook novel yesterday afternoon that I had started on Thursday.  Don't usually read a book in two days but this was a page turner.

My friend gave me the last two segments of the John Adams video and I watched one of the two last evening.  It is really a good series and the acting is superb.

Janet, your great granddaughter's lives (that you are not allowed to see) are being cheated from not getting to know you.  It is sad for all concerned.  Hope your Sunday service goes well and the healing can begin within your congregation.  I guess things like you are experiencing are a good reminder not to put our pastors on pedestals as they are human beings just as we are and we all make some mistakes in our lives.

Carol, so sad about the fires in the Boulder area and now the terrible gas explosion in the San Francisco area.

Etta Sue, wonder if you had a touch of food poisoning.  Hope you are feeling much better today.

Etta Sue

I am so glad this bug is about gone.  I felt well enough to go with Tony and Charlene to La Haciena.  Then we stopped at Good's for ice cream.  Weird that the Mexican settled but the ice cream didn't.  But I feel good today.  Betty called me yesterday and said that she was sorry I got what she had.  It's just one of those things.

Today I am doing some laundry then I want to print some books for church.  I showed Pastor Steve my little book of 'How to Pronounce the Names in the Bible' and he wants me to print 10-15 for people to pick up if they want and then replenish as they are grabbed up!  What a ministry!

Still no rain.  What was suppose to be a rainy day today ended up being not a cloud in the sky!  Now they are saying rain tomorrow!  Some corn and soy beans are being harvested but not many yet!

Just back from the doctor,  they will get the authorization from Oregon Health Plan and the schedule the surgery. We are just going to do the thumb, It will take about an hour to do the surgery  as an outpatient. so it  will a week or two before the surgery takes place.

Keith won't be going to Portland as the kids didn't return his calls yesterday and he has an appointment with a client on Sunday. It would have been a quick trip anyway, Maybe next week he can go. We will see.

Pat:  Nice to see you - yes, I did see Jerry2 's name.  We are concerned about a friend in Minnesota now as well - but did get good news on the blood tests of one son here - his blood numbers are slowly getting better.  Very young and he had a colonoscopy and had to talk the doctor into it - found a pre-cancer tumor just in time.  We give thanks all the time.  How is everything at your new house>  Do you have some colorful trees in the area?

Marilyn:  Thank you so much for letting me know about Joan.  I also did read what hand surgery you will be facing.  Blessings!

Janet:  We are an hour South of Boulder - it should be less time but you know - that city is in the way!!!  Hugs to you on the situation with family.  They are missing so very much.  I called my youngest brother and we had a nice chat but he did not ask about us or even ask my phone number so I know he will not call.  He does the same with other relatives, talks very chatty and says he will come and then, does not show.  Did you get any rain from all those storms?

Etta Sue:  Glad that you are feeling better so quickly.

We worked hard yesterday getting everything ready for demolition of the shower & other things - the workers did not show this morning but say that Tuesday will be good for them.  I am glad it is good for them.   ^-^

Janet

Larry and Carol:  Yes, the kids are the losers, but so are we.  It breaks my heart to see (in pictures) their beautiful little faces and know how much joy they could be giving me, and how much love I have that I'm not being allowed to shower on them.........but God knows, and He will help me deal with the heartache.

Carol, you didn't tell me where you have been??

Etta Sue, glad you feel better now!

Marilyn, I am relieved to read that you will just be getting the thumb done at this time.  Having all the fingers done too sounded like a real ordeal.  Do you plan to get them done later?

I need to get my painting gear together and ready for early departure tomorrow.

See you all later!

Janet I may not ave to have the fingers done at all. The doctor thinks that I have just overcompensated by using my fingers   because the thumb has been so  painful, I will sure be happy to be able to make jewelry and crochet without the pain though.

Hi everyone.  It is Saturday again and college football will be on TV, including a game between Georgia and South Carolina which should be very good.  I will be away this morning but back by game time.  So that will be my exciting day.

Marilyn, glad you are finally getting your surgery scheduled and that it won't have to be as extensive as you thought.

Janet, I understand the sense of loss that the grandparent or great grandparent feels in not being allowed to share in the lives of their grandchildren.  When mine moved to New York the first time I thought I would probably never see either my granddaughter or her children again.  However, they did move and lived for awhile where we were able to share in their lives briefly and it was a great job.  Unfortunately, they are now back in New York.  If Pat and I were in better health we would consider a trip to New York so we could again hold them and share a few moments in their lives.  So we just never know what will happen in God's plan for our lives in the future.  These are situations over which we have no control and properly so.  Hope you have a wonderful time on your painting sojourn.

Carol, it seems to be rare when a workman appears on schedule.  However, I have to say our yardmen and housekeepers have been very dependable.  What are you doing to your shower, if I may be so noisy as to ask?

Etta Sue, sure glad you are feeling better.  I think the milk products on top of an iffy stomach sometimes gives problems.  That will be a nice ministry for you.  You might find this website something you could also use with your ministry:  www.jrsbible.info/bible.htm  It is a linkable list of the books of the Bible on one page.

Time to leave to pick up my friend and for us to go to for coffee at McDonald's.

JudyB

Well I got my modem replaced and i am back on line.  I am now waiting for my emails to come in.

Going to continue to read the back posts and not comment on any here for now.  Kassie and I have a bridal shower to go to.  so I will be back later.

To those who have lost friends and loved ones I am sorry.  May God be with each of you.

Etta Sue

I am still not up to par but much better.  Even water going down feels like a water slide in my tummy!

I started printing my little book and found so many mistakes!!  So I proof read every word...I know there are still mistakes...hard not to be when you are typing the phonetic pronunciation of words like Ezekiel (ee ZEE kee uhl) and Obadiah (OH buh DYE uh) and Habakkuk (huh BAK uhk).  But I finally have 15 printed after having to go to Noblesville and get more paper and ink.  I am thinking that for 9.8 cents a page times 18 pages for each book, it would be cheaper and a lot less time consuming if I need to print very many more to let Office Depot do the printing!

And my Droid was acting up.  I was receiving old emails again....from a week ago.  I googled that and found out what to do to stop that.  Then it said I had 113 emails but a connection error (Google said that was due to the last upgrade).  I went to bed.  I still had the connection error this morning so stopped by Verizon.  Now I am retired from electronics and one of the first things to do when your electronic devices have a glitch is un-plug the power source!  All they did was remove the battery and put it back in.  Now why didn't I think of that?

It's raining!!  It's been over three weeks since we have had any rain!  The grass is already greening up.  That brown crunchy grass looked terrible.  There are already some cornfields and soy bean fields harvested.  Early this year.

This evening Ivalou and I are going to a niece's to celebrate her son in graduating EMT school.  He is now an EMT.  He has tried 3 times and failed English.  He said you don't need to even talk to work on someone in an emergency!  Not GOOD English, anyway!  But he made it.  He is a happy camper!

Etta Sue, my thoughts on that are that if I were injured, but conscious, it would certainly be more reassuring to me if the person working on me at least spoke my language!  And don't they need English to learn the work and pass the exam?  This IS America, after all.  Sure glad you are feeling better now, and that you got the Droid problem fixed.  Nice that the fix was simple and didn't cost!  ;) Bet you think of that first thing, next time!

I had a wonderful time at my painting meeting today.  Everyone was so congenial, and we had a great time visiting, joking, painting and eating.

Tomorrow after church they are having a dinner to "honor the pastor."  I have been so conflicted about whether or not to go.  Darrel settled it, he said NO.  We cannot honor bad behavior and lack of integrity.  I still feel bad, though, and wish it could be otherwise.

Judy, so glad you are online again!

Time to think about bed.

A HARVEST THANK YOU

Autumn mists creep across the fields
To labouring hands giving up their yields
Of maize and corn, potatoes, wheat
And all other crops good to eat
The fruit that decked the leafy bough
Are gathered in the harvest now

Of bounty now of land and sea
We come O Lord to give thanks to thee
You promised a time for sowing seed
A time of harvest to supply our need
To nourish the body you let us know
We would reap what we did sow

Give we thanks Lord, to you our praise
For the bountiful harvest that you did raise
For we know Lord in faith we planted
But for this yield it was you who granted
So mighty God all that's left to do
Is to give you the glory with a Harvest thank you

Oh, Janet and all others, I am sorry I misinterpreted Nick and his English.  Nick speaks great English and some Spanish to get his point across.  What I meant is he said he didn't think he needed to know what words are adverb or pronouns and such.  Or how to dissect a sentence.  That why he failed English a few times back and finally got it this time.  No, I agree.  I would like someone to speak enough of my language to calm me in emergencies.  He said it was College English so harder than High School English.

What a great yesterday!  I am finally back to myself.  What a long three days.

I am all ready for church...ready to put this laptop down and go out the door.  It is bright and sunny...not a puffy thing in the sky!!  Promising to be a great day.  Today we are to see a video of our future building proposition.  And some pamphlets to take home and of course, an awesome sermon of God.

Ivalou and I are going to church together.  We will probably go out to eat somewhere and then home.

This evening I want to go to a funeral visitation.  My ex sister-in-law passed away on my birthday.

Beautiful Colin!

I pray everyone has a good day in the house of the Lord! for This is the day that the Lord has made!!!

JudyB

Do you have the joy of God's presence?

On that day the announcement to Jerusalem will be, "Cheer up, Zion! Don't be afraid! For the Lord your God has arrived to live among you. He is a mighty savior. He will rejoice over you with great gladness. With his love, he will calm all our fears. He will exult over you by singing a happy song."

Zephaniah 3:16-17 NLT

I know the Lord is always with me, I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. No wonder my heart is filled with joy, and my mouth shouts his praises!
Psalm 16:8-9 NLT

Happy are those who obey his decrees and search for him with all their hearts.
Psalm 119:2 NLT

Real joy
Is joy, or happiness, a passing emotion or a permanent state? The Bible says it can be both. There is happiness that reacts to happenings (which is temporary and volatile), and there is happiness that overrules happenings (which is strong and lasting). Happiness based on happenings is part of life, but if that is all we can count on we have to keep feeding ourselves with events to keep us upbeat. Those who know the joy that comes from God don't need happenings to keep them happy. They learn how to develop inner joy because they know, no matter what happens, God offers hope and promise.

Hi everyone.  We had a very stormy late afternoon, evening and night.  I haven't heard how much rain we had but am sure it was quite a bit.  We sure needed it as things were getting very dry.

I am ready for church and then we plan on going out to eat with the group as long as they don't decide to go to this one Mexican place we really dislike.

I watched a lot of football yesterday but it wasn't a winning day for my team or my best friends team.  Glad there is always next week.  I will watch some pro football this afternoon and probably evening.  Glad the regular season is underway.

Colin, so nice to see your poetry once again and thanks for sharing the harvest poem.  How are you doing?  It has been quite awhile since we heard from you.

Judy, glad to see you back posting and know you are online again.  Thanks for the Bible postings and comments.  I don't often comment on them but do appreciate them and your effort to post them for us.

Etta Sue, sorry to hear of the death of your ex sister-in-law.  Glad you are feeling better and also that you got your Droid fixed.  Glad you also got some much needed rain.  It does seem this is early for harvest. I would think it would be much cheaper to have your Bible page printed at Office Depot.  The last time I had printing done I think it was about four or five cents a sheet and certainly a lot less work.  Ink is so expensive for our printers.

Janet, sounds like you had a great time yesterday and so glad you were able to go and do one of the things that gives you such enjoyment.  I don't understand why your church would have something to honor your pastor if his behavior has been bad and he has shown a lack of integrity.  It sounds like you and Darrel have made the right decision for yourselves.

JudyB

We are home from church.  Pastor was good today. After church we had a luncheon.  There is a lady who only comes to church when there is a luncheon as she likes to cool, and brings a lot of food.  She is the lady who works the food bank that had Kassie working with her.  We are praying for her salvation.  As a result we have more luncheons than most churches.

We are going out for supper this evening.  RuthV who is here on CP has invited us out for dinner.  It will be good to visit with her.

I have read all the posts,  with the concern of missing someone who have posted, I won't comment.  Just know you have all been prayed for.

Etta Sue, thanks for the explanation.  And thanks for not being offended by what I said, I worried a bit about that later.  Yes, College English is difficult, really so for some.  I used to love diagramming sentences, naming the parts of speech, etc; but it is so hard for some.  Darrel hated English in school.

We are packed and ready to depart by 6 AM.  Will be back home on Friday night.  I think I will take my laptop this time, just for kicks, but might not have time to post, as it is going to be a very busy 5 days.  The hotel does have free WIFI and a nice pool, so we are going prepared.

Darrel missed church today, as just as we were getting dressed, he got a call and had to go to Liberal to repair an alarm system.  The job took 15 minutes, but the trip over and back took 2 hours.  That's the way those things usually are.

You kids behave now while I'm gone!  ;)

I think I have missed something.....Where has Janet gone?

We have had a great time with Ruth and her hubby tonight.  Ruth Kassie and I went off and played on the computer, while the men talked.  Great time of fellowship!.

We have dentist and doctor appointments tomorrow so I won't be on till late evening.

Have a good night's sleep and a God day tomorrow.
