Here's a couple of pictures from my series on the churches of Minsk.Â
This is the Church of Mary Magdalene in Minsk, it is a Russian Orthodox Church.

I really love that first one, the clouds add so much. That's a beautiful building. What are the gold "dots" made of, on the onion dome? And is that a cemetery beside the church? I love old churches, this one may not be so old, it is certainly well preserved, at any rate.
There are a couple of graves on the side of the church, but not really a cemetery. The dots on the onion dome are supposed to be gold stars.
As to age of the church, it was originally built in 1847, and underwent reconstruction in 1990. Over here, that is a relatively new church :-)

Beautiful.....simply beautiful!!!!
Very nice photos.
This is a lovely building Mike. Thank-you.
It must look so wonderful when the sun shines upon all those domes...
Jenny.
Great shots there Mike now lets see a lot more of those churches.
I'll try to post a new one every week hopefully, at least that's my plan. I've been integrating it into my walking trying to give myself a goal besides walking to keep me motivated :-) I'll drive the car to someplace close, walk to the cathedral/church then start taking a bunch of pictures around it and see if I get any good ones or not.
I am looking forward to seeing more photos from you, Mike. These are lovely and I agree with Janet where she says that the clouds in the first one really make it stand out.
Thanks for sharing with us.
