POSTING FOR JONA...Jona is in an area that has been very damaged by the huricane Frances and is at the moment sitting without electricity. She has her laptop and was able to send a few photos to me.

When I was working for my (original hometown) newspaper in Marion, NC, I went to a housefire where there wasn't much left. The only thing left untarnished was the painting of Jesus. The only harnm tha t was done to it was the glass was busted out revealing the image of Jesus very clearly as being all that remains.
Pretty amazing!!! Especially after surviving through this crazy bunch of Hurricanes.

Jona, those shots are amazing! I love that brand-new baby, the picture of Jesus is remarkable amid the burnt surroundings, and that sky! WOW! I can't wait to see more of your photos!

The baby is my step-grandaughter, Caeley. The person holding her up was the Dr. that delivered her. She had been all cleaned up and ready for inspection. She's 3 now and just as precious. I can't wait till I'm able to send some newer ones of her for you guys to see. When she introduces me to someone she says "this is my friend, Grammy". I just want to squeeze her to pieces. She and her family headed north to St Louis when hurricane Frances was on her way. They should be back in a few hours. After a week, I really miss them!! They've been staying with us while their new home is going in right beside us so I've almost got the "empty nest" thing going on again :)
The burned up house with the picture of Jesus was just there and impossible to miss. That's just one of those times when you're in the right place at the right time and God has something to say.
The sky picture is another one that, of course, God gets the glory for. He made it and I pointed the camera toward it.
We had power today for 6-8 hours. Just enough time to do laundry and get the house cleaned up. Thank goodness we have a generator! It keeps fans, the fridge, the freezer and a few lights going. We are very fortunate, to have that much. It's the people without a home or that were flooded out that we all need to be in prayer for.

I'm once again, with millions of others, anticipating another Hurricane. Goodness!!
I took some of my first studio portrait assignments for school the other day. I took some of my little Caeley. I can't wait to get them on here. They're cute as can be. I had her dressed up in an antique hat with feathers in it, a pair of overalls, and a shirt of mine. Looks kind of like a 3 year old dressed herself. I will try to post them later on when we get our laptop out of the repair shop and hopefully the power won't go off again.
