Had the op to take these and thought I'd post them. Quite a few, hope it's ok'

Like postcard pics....My bad-I don't know alot of the immediate events that took place of MLK. Mostly about 'I had a dream speech'. Were you around there when it happened? I remember JFKs assassination-and plus the publicity it had gotten and seeing news clips, videos, hearing speculations and controversary, through the years. I wonder if they rent 306? TFS, a wonderful opportunity!

I remember.  But I don't know, or remember a lot of the history.  TV producers glorify JFK and have seemed, at least in Canada, ignored MLK.  I would love to see something  about this again on TV.

Those cars are they authentic to the year?

Thanks Juanita. The motel is a tourist attraction now and rm 306 is never rented.. King was the last person to use the room. I was out of country at the time of the shooting. The boarding house is also not in use beyond tours.

These are great pictures.   Well Done.

The cars are authentic to the era. They could well have belonged to MLK, I'm not that
familiar with the attraction. It draws a lot of attention here and I figured some might enjoy seeing the pics.

  Was my pleasure Jeanne. I just happened to be in that part of town and had my camera with me. I was in no hurry and thought "why not".
They tell me things got a little "harry" here after it happened. I was wading rice paddies at the time. We got the word it happened pretty quick but at the time we were having a lot of difficulty getting mail and supplies in and out of the area we were in. Of course cell phones and such were still a thing of the future. In those days only "James Bond" had access to such devices and he wasn't sharing
