Here are some photos I took recently on a day out in central London, in the areas of Oxford Street and Holborn:

We gotta love our digitals, huh?  NIce views of London.  I've never been there, but your pictures remind me of the Roger Miller song "England swings like a pendulum do, Bobbies on bicycles two by two............"  ;D

David, these are wonderful photos of London.  Do you live right in the city or outside of it?  Great photo of the red telephone kiosk.  I remember them so well from when I lived in N. Ireland.

Thanks for all the nice comments. I live in the suburbs but currently work in the centre of London, in the heart of the financial district in the City of London, in Fleet Street, near St Paul's Cathedral, for a major US bank.

I have taken a lot of photos of the area, I will post the best ones sometime. Recently I visited the Tower of London last weekend, and posted the photos I took at http://www.avoura.com/avoura/images/london/tower/

By the way, the Crown Jewels in the photos were fake ones, they don't allow people to photograph the real ones, but they have replicas that people can photograph.

Roger Miller would have to wear armour plating to do bicycling 'two by two' in the metropolis these days.

These are very good.   I particularly like your night shots of St. Pauls, which gives a distinctly sinister impression, quite unlike the conventional shots done in the daylight.

Although the distortion from the wide angle and tilted lens is interesting, I'm wondering if you tried using a little perspective control to straighten them up.  It might make them more ordinary, but I think maybe some of them might be even more striking.

Hi Brother David,
I loved the pictures.  The closest I have ever been was a layover at Heatrow back in 1971.   All I remember was it being so foggy!  I would have loved to visited there however.
I like the shots because they depict the everyday activity around the city, not the usuall torist shots.....

I love it in Michigan.  I live about an hour north of Detroit.  We have so many Lakes, parks, forests, and outdoor scenics that it is almost impossible to not find something that glorifies the beauty of God's creation....I love the city, and the archetecture, the people, the events and torist attractions and all, but there is something about being alone in god's beauty with him, makes you wander what was Adam thinking!
