Title: Scenery that Will Make You Cry :')
Post by: CapturedByGrace on June 24, 2010, 03:52:38 AM
Hi everyone,
I couldn't think of any other title for this post.  A few days ago, I returned to the Mount Sneffels wilderness here in Colorado, because the week before that, I had been in the area seeking this place, but went down the wrong road (although I still got some nice shots).  Well this time, I found the right road!  As I was driving, I was listening to my praise and worship CD, and enjoying the views.  It just kept getting prettier and prettier, and then there were lupine flowers everywhere!  The road winds high above a creek and winds through a gorgeous forest.  As I was listening to my praise music, I was reminded of how awesome God is and that He is the only one who can paint such scenes as this.  I wasn't really expecting to see wildflowers in this area at this time; was just expecting to enjoy all the green and the awesome creeks and mountains.  Well, God certainly exceeded my expectations yet again!  I became overcome with such thankfulness to God for blessing me to live near this stunning scenery.  I always try not to worship the creation, but the Creator....but know that the Creator made these awesome scenes for us to enjoy and to remind us that He is awesome and cares for us.  Tears of joy, awe and thanksgiving began to flow, and I began to sing praises to Him.  With each bend in the road unfolded another awesome partial view of the mountains and more wildflowers.  THEN....I came around another bend in the road and THIS is what was waiting for me.  My jaw literally dropped open.  There was even a spot to park, and a nice hill from which to stare at this stunning scene.  To top it all off, there were lupines on the hill, too, making for a perfect foreground for my picture. (Although this image probably doesn't do this scene much justice...and web compression may be killing it).  I went up the hill with my camera and tripod, set up and fired off some shots, then went back to my car and got out my camp chair and parked myself in front of this view for half the morning, sipping a cold drink and listening to the gentle mountain breeze and the birds.  Simply heaven on earth.  I felt so small under 14,150 foot Mount Sneffels (to the right of the picture), but was reminded again of God's awesome love.  I will be returning to this location soon.
I hope this blesses you as much as it did me.
Kelly

I know it's a word that's used too much, but all I can think of is "AWESOME"!

You know, that really is beautiful. Everything from the color, to the lighting, to the composition.....so nicely done. But it's more than that....there's just something about recording what God's already made. Thanks so much for sharing that picture.

Being presented with the beauty of God's creation is one thing,
but getting spiritually connected to Him, one on one, is beyond measure.
Count your blessings!

Colorado has to be the most beautiful place I have ever been and I believe it will be second only to Heaven.

Great capture Kelly. Living there has to be a blessing in itself.
