Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Carol: Thankful:  Don is home from hospital.  I found him unconscious with head outside on the floor and the rest was in the shower.  At the same moment, one son was walking through the front door to visit.  Two fire trucks came racing in and they took over After 2021-12-29, 22:01:26

I don't normally like vignettes.  But this one sings.   Great work.

Thank you very much, everyone, for your kind words.   :)

Barbarian, I agree with you, I'm not usually much for vignetting either.  It's hard to do right, especially with white.  I don't do much of it in my portfolio galleries, but I do have some.  When I do them, I try to keep them light, (almost so they go unnoticed) unless the subject matter really cries out for more.

Wow!  That is awesome.  I love bald eagles.  A couple of years ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to take a photography workshop that was held by a local raptor group.  They brought a bald eagle, a couple of types of hawks, a great horned owl and a little saw whet owl.  We were able to break up into small groups and rotate, giving each person a chance to photograph these awesome birds close up.  The raptor program rescues ill or injured birds of prey and nurses them back to health.  If the birds are returnable to the wild, they release them at the right time; but if they are not able to go back into the wild, they keep them and lovingly care for them while using them to educate the public.  Although I have never been able to photograph a bald eagle in the wild (yet!), this opportunity was awesome, because we were able to get very close to them.
I love the clarity and the framing of this image.  And your processing is fantastic as well.  Thank you for sharing, it's beautiful!

That's cool, Grace!  I recently had a similar experience at The Peregrine Fund, World Center for Birds of Prey where I took this photo.  I have several galleries from that experience in my birding galleries, although it was not just for photographers, but it was a teaching experience.  I went with the Golden Eagle Audubon Society field trip.  They are more of a breading and then re-introduce into the wild program, not a place for rehab of injured birds; although I believe they've done a little of that as well.  I taken some photos of bald eagles in the wild, but until I get a faster lens, it will be difficult to get really great shots.  I want to go to Alaska to shoot them, when I do. :D

I've been documenting my birding experiences on my new bird blog.  Click here to see it.
