Oh my! That is a great image, Buddy!
What a wonderful Creator we have.
Great shot, Buddy. They're so fast, they're hard to catch. :)

Thanks, Pat and Jeanne. Here is another shot of her.
Oh, my! Her wings must have been beating a mile a minute! That's a great capture that you got!
Buddy, that's just... WOW!
It looks like you took it in the afternoon sun. I've always tried for evening or morning light.

Hi SmokeytheDog,
It was around 5:30 pm when I took the pictures. I have a 400mm f/5.6 lens, so f/5.6 in low light I would have to go high with the ISO or use a slow shutter speed and try and pan or use a flash to get a proper exposure.
Beautiful bids. I love watching them around the feeder. I don't have a fast enough shutter speed on my camera to take their pictures. As John gets to know his Nikon he will be able to get some good shots.
Love your pictures though! They are wonderful!

Thanks, Judy! You do need a fast shutter speed, that is why I shoot in sunlight. You could use a flash and then you could shoot in the shade or low light. The only way to freeze the wings is to use a flash. As you can see I wasn't able to freeze the wings because I didn't use a flash.
