I think I have the male/female id right. Please tell me if anyone knows for sure. I researched quite some time this morning.

Yes you have the male here.  The female doesn't have the bright colours that the male has.

How close are you to this fellow?

Well done here they are beautiful!  Here is a challenge....See if you can get him singing, mouth open!

He was and I did. Thanks for the gender help. None of the sites I looked at were clear on that. I assumed since the bird was smaller and had a different body shape that it was a female. That is why I asked. I am new at IDing small birds.

Thanks. They are all over the place. You can hear them. I don't see them till they want me to. You would think a bright bird like that would stick out. God really did a neat camo job on all of his creation.
