Those eyes!!!  Wow that is a wonderful shot!  Do you have a family living near by?

They will really stare you down. Very intense looking. Eagles have that intense look, but they are looking at something else most of the time.  Ospreys are looking at you  quite often.  Judy B These birds are quite common. I know of at least twenty nesting pairs within a short drive. There are 2 nests that I can see from my dinning room window.

Oh WOW that would be wonderful to see.  Have you ever managed to get pictures of the hatchlings?  I am sure that would be difficult with those talons on Mama and Papa.

You have some wonderful pictures here!

Excellent!  And they do stare back.  I think birds understand that big lens as a big eye.  Some birds, like the osprey will stare back.  But the crows here, at least, cannot tolerate it and will fly off when we point it at them.

Birds seemed to sense me and my camera form 100s of yards and fly away. They do see the lens as a threat. They need to know that we are just trying to make them stars. I am trying to get decent shots of sparrows. I wait beside their nest occasionally  and they are getting accustomed to me.
