I saw these colored chimneys on one of the old law quad buildings.

What a great topic!  And you've got a lovely capture of some chimneys!

When I lived in Northern Ireland, I wish I had taken lots of photos of some of the old chimney pots they have over there.  One for every room in the house!

Thanks!

Hi Smokey
Nice image.  I really like the simplicity of just picking out a detail of a building.  The colours of the chimneys and the contrast with the blue sky really works well.

Can I make a couple of suggestions?  You might want to straighten the verticals on the image - the chimneys are leaning a little to the left.  If you use Adobe Lightroom to process your images the latest CC version has a transform tab in the develop module, and the guided transform will work wonders with this.   Also I'd be a bit tighter on the crop the extra space round the chimneys on all sides can be cropped out as it doesn't add anything to the image.

Hope you don't mind me making those suggestions.
Ian.

I don't use lightroom or any fancy (expensive) program. I just use iPhoto. I was just casually taking some shots, but thanks for the tips!
