Title: Fort Worth Cultural District
Post by: Barbarian on July 26, 2010, 01:54:30 PM
Mrs. B's shot:

Casa MaƱana, a theater in the round.   Looks very dated now, but when it was built it was cutting edge in theaters.   Hence "House of Tomorrow" in Spanish.

Some more are coming; we're resolving artistic differences about the way Mrs. Barbarian's images are processed...

Don't process them.  Post them as they are and let us see as she sees.

That's pretty much what I do, but I thought I could improve some of them this time.   Big mistake.

OK Tell Mrs B that I love her shots.   They are wonderful.

In the second one down.....your shot, what is that black speck in the sky above the building?

The third one down "Entrance to Will Rogers Center"  looks like yours, what lens did you use?  I do like it!  Almost looks like you used a fish eye...Is that the correct term?

I like Mrs B's statue.  I like seeing the cacti in the foreground.  Lovely shot, it looks like a cool spot to sit, if there are benches!

What is the tower in the last one?  It is yours, and it is a lovely shot of the height of the building.

All in all I like the lot.  they are beautiful.  I can imagine though what it is like if there is something going on in the center...completely different set of shots!!!

Airliner.  I didn't see it until after I looked at the pictures.

That's the effect, but I used an 18-55 zoom, and stitched them together.

Had to redo it, she didn't like the first treatment.

Apparently, it was designed as an observation tower, but no one has used it in many years, I'm told.

It is closer.  Maybe it is the lighting but the shadows obscure the face.  It wasn't so noticeable in the first shot.

Still well done!

Tried to minimize the Fish Eye look on this one:
