Title: Market Mall Bolton
Post by: Summicron on November 11, 2009, 05:43:53 PM
Margery had an apointment for an iron injection at 3pm this afternoon, so we went to Bolton for a couple of hours, we looked in what was the old market, now a retail designer outlet, sure its photogenic with all the lights and now the Christmas lights but on the whole they've wrecked what was a six day market that was essential for peoples everyday needs to tacky teen and twenties emporium. Look at the victorian filigree wrought iron of the roof supports, its totally out of context with what's below

The Christmas tree looked a wonderful sight though, again you have the Massonic symbolism coming through, a point within a circle. I took these shots handheld with my digital camera from the balcony overlooking the central atrium.

Nice shots - purple as a Christmas color - at first one might think "what?"  However, upon reflection - it was a royal birth.

It does look strange, I agree.  As my mother used to say "some people's taste is all in their mouth".  But still, it did provide an excellent photo op!   ;)
