There's an Irish joke about someone thinking Sherlock Holmes was a block of flats, it isn't, its an estate agent. I suppose it was only a matter of time before someone dreamed this one up, its good, I like it.

Taken from the same bus was this almost sinister looking building, it looks like some sort of 1950s alien spacecraft, but a building like this can only be one thing, a cinema from perhaps before the war, I suppose it became a bingo hall sometime in the 1960s, probably when it aquired this wonderful paint job, it's a work of art, God had a hand in this photograph, as when the bus stopped at some lights the sun broke through, enough time for me to grab a handful of shots. I've realised exactly what this is now, the front is in the shape of a streamlined steam engine, either the Gressley A4 Pacifics, or the Princess class locomotives. This picture made my day.

A closer view of that wonderful peeling paint.

Your bus sure takes some interesting routes! ;D
Funny you should say that, we were well over two hours on that bus, we were having a laugh and a chat to people, every wher we travel there seems to be more and more ideas for photo opportunities in all sorts of unexpected places, now I've discovered a seemingly wonderful photogenic area on Manchester university campus, try and get there sometime this week.
Your pictures are amazing. I do so enjoy your travels!
Great shots, Summicron.
