Title: Red Bricks
Post by: Summicron on January 26, 2008, 08:29:11 PM
An autumn evening in Chorley in Lancashire, an I happened across this red brick modern office building, lit by the warm evening sun it made such a wonderful subject.

Very strong composition, converging lines and strong color.

On my monitor, it seems a bit low in contrast.   I think it would be even better if just a bit more contrasty.

There you are, I've just gone back to the original picture pumped up the contrast about 40% and replaced it here, is it any better with your monitor?

Yes, it has a bit more snap, and the low sun looks warmer on the brick now.  Very nice.

Nice image.  Subjects made of brick can often have impact, especially when lit in such a dramatic manner, like in your photo.  Thanks for sharing!

I really like the warmth of the brick, and the complementary color scheme.
