Title: Landing in Fog
Post by: Neil on January 10, 2009, 02:31:47 PM
I took this photo of a Boeing 737 landing this morning in freezing fog. Apologies that i cut the tail off in the photo. I had a few seconds to catch this shot. I could hear the plane approaching the runway but could not see it and the first time i saw the 737 was a second or two before i clicked the shutter, hence me cutting off the tail.

Wow!  Neil, that's some fog.

I landed in a snow storm similar to that many years back and the first thing I saw from the plane window was a sign rushing past my window and then the bump of landing.  It was terrible.

Yes Pat it must be scary. I remember flying into Athens and the view as we landed was perfect. It was neat to see everything so clearly and that allowed you to be ready for the bump on landing. To see nothing and then all of a sudden see the runway just feet away must be un-nerving.

It is un-nerving.  This is an incredible picture though.  Well done.
