Oldiesmann: I'm not aware of any Jenny. Not sure why activity has died down on this site so much though 2023-06-12, 00:06:36

JennyW: Also, does anyone know other photo sharing sites that are Christian? 2023-05-16, 08:47:03

JennyW: Hello Everyone! I really miss activity on this site. I've been discouraged by photography sites where you have to sort through so much explicit content in order to see photos that truly glorify God. I'd love to see this site pick up again. 2023-05-16, 08:46:36

Janet: Carol, I am just reading this.  So sorry for your loss, glad your beloved Don knew the Lord and you have the assurance of his eternity  and that you WILL see him again.  Much love to you.  Janet 2022-06-18, 08:49:36

Here are some photos of the decorating I helped do at the Senior Center for our mother-daughter banquet.  I hope you enjoy them.  This first one is of some of the miniature quilts all made by the same lady.  She does beautiful work!

This one shows the stage, with an antique sewing machine, partly done quilt, three more tiny quilts, some quilted pillows, and several more quilts.

This is the entrance area, with one of my quilts showing.  The blocks were made by Darrel's grandmother, and my Mom put them together; then I had it machine quilted.  This desk is where everyone signed in.

Here is a quilted bedspread one of the ladies brought back from Egypt.  The blocks are very complicated and intricate!  And boy, was it a headache to hang!  We really worked hard getting that done; it is really heavy!

We had several large racks to display quilts on, and the panda quilt you see here is one I purchased on my missions trip to China.

The dark colored quilt on the left is very old, from the 1800s.  It wasn't heavy, so I was able to fold it in fourths to hang it.  The others were made by the same lady who made the ones in the first photo.  I used straight pins to hang them on the walls.

Beautiful ... Beautiful ... amazingly beautiful!! Such work poured into this.  I love the quilts and pillows and your decorative touch in hanging/displaying them all, Janet!

More quilts!  I also hung all of the purple gossamer fabric around the room, so you can see I was up and down the ladder a LOT!  :)

Still MORE quilts!

This cute little 4-year-old danced for us to "Banana Phone."  She did a great job!  ;D

Here is me with my girls, Diane, Beth, and Beth's dear friend Cory.  Cory has been such a good friend to Beth!  So when I found Abby couldn't come, we invited Cory, since I had made reservations for 4 people.

Thanks, Jane!  Don't the tables look pretty, too?  I didn't help with those, I had plenty to keep me busy, in "higher places!"  ;)

Janet ... I so admire people (like you) with talent!  This is a beautiful tribute and capture of a memorable time with yoiu and your daughters.  So neat!! I'd love to have been a part of this, too.

Janet, I will have to direct Pat's attention to your quilt photos as she is an avid quilter and loves to look at all things quilting.   Are you aware there is a new quilting cable televsion channel that also streams their shows over the Internet.  If you have high speed Internet access you can easily watch the programs on the Internet.  I think my wife found it the first day it was available.

You did a lovely job of decorating.  We have only one quilt on our wall.  It is a white on white king size quilt that Pat handquilted and we painted a dark red background on one wall for the quilt display.  It is very striking.

These are reallly wonderful, Janet.  My wife goes twice each week to a quilters' group at the local Sr. Center.  God-given talent, bringing God's beauty out.

Thank you Jane, Larry and Al.  I do not quilt, but I do admire quilts!  And those who have the infinite patience to sit and do it for so long!  There are several ladies at our Sr. Center who quilt there nearly every day.  They also make baby quilts to present to each new baby born at our local hospital, and the lady showed me that the big cabinets are stuffed full of those!  They also have a big quilting machine which a few of them know how to use, and they quilt quilts for those who bring them in, which makes some money to keep the quilting room stocked and running.

It was fun to see all the lovely work a lot of ladies have done, and I especially liked the heirloom quilts handed down through the years.

Jane, if I tell you in advance next year, will you come as my guest?  I would LOVE to have you!

Larry, I hope Pat enjoys the photos and thanks for telling me about the program.  I often watch one on HGTV, it's fun to see how artistic people can be with fabric.

Larry, that white on white quilt sounds gorgeous!  I would love to see it, and a red wall would show it off to perfection!

Janet ... you remind me so much of my AUNT CLAIRE who lives in NH you both look like you could be sisters ... ( maybe it's the hair & the way you dress that you remind me of her ) oh well ... I guess I will hve to find a picture of her and post it sometime ... so the quilts are beautiful ... thanks so much for sharing ... the panda bear is my favorite !!

Now THAT is a most wonderful idea .... Y'never know I just might decide to take a drive in your direction ... just give me enough time to get there from here.  [/b]

Beautiful quilts.  So much time and work into each one of them even when machine stitched.  Lovely designs and what a wonderful idea for a Mother/Daughter Banquet.

Janet, those quilts are sure something else.  I used to go quilting at a church near to where I used to live.  They had the Quilting Bee once a month and I learned a lot.  I really like to quilt.  These are sure lovely photos and that's the sweetest little girl too.

Beautiful Quilts and you did them proud.  Must have been very difficult work.
